Kumoko's POV
"I might be reincarnated as a spider but I'm still alive! And I survived again!" I cheered as I finished killing half of all the monkeys I killed.
'Looking back, when I was rescued by Rosemary after that earth dragon blew me away; I felt like I was being choked with fear and frustration from being forced to break the oath I made when my first home was burnt down. And I had to run to stay alive!'
I began to tear up in happiness.
'And this time, yet again, I've managed to survive a fight without Rosemary coming in to save me like a shonen protagonist. I'm so happy! This is great!'
"Experience threshold has been reached."
'I worked… so, so hard…'
"Level has risen to 10. Requirements have been met. Small Taratect can now evolve."
'Eh? Oh right. Level 10 huh. I guess I've jumped up a few levels back there. Let's leave the evolutions for later though. I don't want to level up in the middle of nowhere, after all.'
I crawled from the mountain of monkey corpses I was on and started to walk. As I walked I realised something.
'Come to think of it, there weren't any monkeys coming from this direction. Wait a minute, the path is heading upwards! Maybe this will lead me to the middle sanctum?'
Realising this, I called for Rosemary.
"ROSEMARY! I think I found something!"
She looked up from the cooked monkey she's eating.
"Is it a path to the Middle Sanctum?" she said casually.
"Wha- How did you know?!" I said in surprise.
"You were quite loud back there. I think I started listening when you called me a shonen protagonist."
"Eh!? But I didn't say that out loud!"
"You didn't?" She said, sounding surprised.
"No! I didn't!"
"Huh. Did I have a mind reading skill that I'm not aware of? Can you check for me?"
"Alright, let me check… Oh wait you do! How did I miss that? Also, when did you get the title 'Language Master'? Is it because you were bilingual before this reincarnation thing happened?"
(A/N: Puresalty: I have Bullshitted the title 'Language Master.' What the title does is that it allows Rosemary to gain the skill Mind Reading and allows her to automatically understand any language.)
"Может быть." ("Maybe" in Russian. Rosemary knows several other languages but Kumoko doesn't know because she never asked.)
"I don't understand what you just said, but do you want to go to the middle sanctum now?"
"Sure. It seems like a good place to level up. Let's go."
She stopped eating the monkeys and I started to walk towards the exit I found. Now I just Hope nothing bad happens.
