Poppyfrost was sleeping next to Honeyfern as she was enjoying a good night's rest. A knocking was heard as the cats didn't want to get up.
"Someone get the door." Dovewing groaned as she turned over the covers. Cherryfall got up to investigate what the knocking was. She opened the door as she found Blossomfall at the doorway.
"Tell everyone that they need to get up and packed, we need to get back out onto the road." Blossomfall mowed as she wanted to tell them about what their objectives were. Poppyfrost walked over as she had just woken up.
"It's five thirty in the morning, why do we need to be back on the road?" Poppyfrost asked Blossomfall. Blossomfall looked at her and began speaking.
"I got Ivy pool and Molewhisker ready and waiting in the lobby. You have ten minutes to prepare yourselves." Blossomfall told them. She then turned and began walking away. HoneyFern looked at her sister as she was already up and taking care of herself.
"You heard Blossomfall, let's go." Honey fern told her sister. Now they just needed to wake up Dovewing.
The four remaining cats arrived at the lobby as they were carrying their belongings. Some of them weren't happy with what was going on.
"No hot water dispenser." Molewhisker growled as if everything was just coffee.
"Have you tried drinking coffee before?" Ivypool asked Molewhisker.
"I haven't, coffee is nasty." Molewhisker replied. Ivypool looked at her friend for a brief moment before Blossomfall walked over and looked at the group.
"Okay, let's roll." Blossomfall was the first to lead everyone to the truck as they all got into the truck as Blossomfall locked everything down and began driving. Dovewing was curious what they were going to eat.
"What's for breakfast?" Dovewing asked as they weren't going to stay at the hotel to eat.
"Oats." Blossomfall responded as there were several containers of oats mixed with yogurt and fruit in there. Dovewing gagged with disgust.
"Well we're going to miss out on hotel food." Cherryfall gagged with dissatisfaction.
"Well we need to be on the road so I came prepared with oats, no complaining from any of you." Blossomfall told her friends as Molewhisker picked up a plastic spoon and the container containing the oats.
"Well it won't be that bad, let's see how this goes." Molewhisker responded. He scooped up some of the oats before tasting it. He saw what the problem was. "Yeah it doesn't take that good, needs a thing or two to spice it up." Molewhisker replied but he was still going to eat it. Poppyfrost was looking out in the starry night sky as sped along the highway doing seventy. She looked at the flashing lights behind them.
"Is that a Thundersnake?" She asked as the monster's headlights blinked as it was getting closer. Molewhisker turned his head behind as he wanted to see what it was. The truck bended left alongside with the rest of the highway so they weren't going to see it.
"Great, we missed the snake." Molewhisker growled as they kept driving along the highway, it was dark out so it wasn't like they were going to see it.
Due to where they stopped, they managed to slip over into Georgia without much worry. However not everyone was going to get what they wanted.
"I want to stop for peaches and pecans." Dovewing began. Molewhisker had finished breakfast and was out cold, quietly snoozing away as Ivypool was eating hers.
"We still have a long way to go, why do you want to stop for fuzzies Dovewing?" Blossomfall asked as she kept driving. Dovewing looked a bit baffled when she saw that they weren't stopping.
"We always stop for Peaches. We need to have them." Dovewing whined as she wanted to be able to get what she needed as she remembered numerous times before where they stopped for peaches.
"We'll be out of Georgia by the time that they open plus we're going to be doing eighty so we might arrive there a bit early. Dovewing knew she was craving for some peaches but were they really going to stop for some fruit? Dovewing knew she better find some fresh grown peaches or she will be upset. Blossomfall looked out as the sun was beginning to rise above the horizon. They knew they were going to need to stop along the way as the cats began gathering their garbage. Honeyfern was holding her bladder as it was clear she needed to go.
"Anyone needs to use the restroom as I think I had a little too much coffee." Honeyfern asked as they. Blossomfall shrugged as she noticed an exit up ahead, might as well get off of it so that everyone could use the restroom.
"Okay we've been on the road for a couple of hours now so we're getting off the exit so that everyone could go pee and pick out a couple of things as we still have another four hours to travel." Blossomfall made the announcement. Dovewing was over the moon when she heard that they were stopping to go use the restroom, and might as well find the time to go look for some peaches.
The truck pulled over in a gas station as Blossomfall knew that it wouldn't hurt to fill up the tank again even though she had half a tank. Might as well fill it up. Honeyfern, Dovewing and Molewhisker got out as Molewhisker had been jolted awake by the stop. Blossomfall got out as she went to fill the truck up with gas.
"You three use the bathroom and pick out something light to keep Molewhisker awake, I don't want him sleeping during this trip." Blossomfall told the group that they needed to do something to keep him awake as he was just sleeping in the back seat.
Honeyfern, Dovewing and Molewhisker entered the gas station store as they began looking around. Honeyfern and Molewhisker went to the bathroom as they knew they needed to go while Dovewing only came out to see if they had what she needed. She began looking around for the fuzzies that she wanted. Dovewing spotted the pecans as she decided to pick them out, two bags worth of pecans. She then began looking around for the peaches she wanted but this store had none of them to be found, Molewhisker and Honeyfern walked out of the bathroom as they were casually speaking to each other.
"I think when we arrive at Thunderstar's house we should be able to stay for dinner before we head over to the hotel and call it a night." Honeyfern told Molewhisker as she picked out juice for him to drink.
"Doesn't Thunderstar live in a gated community for fifty-five and over?" Molewhisker asked as he was peeking down the snack aisle for something to take with him. He walked over and grabbed a stick of beef jerky for him to snack on.
"He does but I bet there will be a few young-uns wandering around as they still live with their elders." Honeyfern responded. She turned but Molewhisker was gone. Where could he have wandered off to? Honeyfern was now on line as she had seen Dovewing with her bags of pecans.
"You think you are going to have those right? Make them into a pie?" Honeyfern asked. Dovewing looked at Honeyfern.
"Tigerhear asked for Pecans so I'm saving a bag for him." Dovewing responded. Honeyfern wasn't getting what Dovewing was saying.
"Ha-ha according to me he doesn't seem to be that nice of a guy so maybe you try finding someone else." Honeyfern mewed as Molewhisker was sneaking up behind Honeyfern.
"Well who should I go out and date with, not that womanizer Bumblestripe." Dovewing responded as Honeyfern turned to look behind her, she jumped as she had been spooked by what seemed to be a wooden snake.
"Got ya." Molewhisker mewed as he held the fake snake in his paws. He walked over and decided to put the snake back as it was their turn to pay. Honeyfern began looking at the scratch offs as she knew she wanted to get something to pass the time.
Blossomfall had finished refueling the truck as the three cats came on out.
"Hey got a few things and Molewhisker decided to scare me with a snake." Honeyfern responded as Molewhisker was the first to get into the truck. Dovewing and Honeyfern got in next, Dovewing was only partially happy.
"Well they have my pecans but they didn't have my peaches." Dovewing mewed as she felt bummed out. Ivypool looked at Dovewing from her seat as she wanted to speak to her about it.
"It's called fuzzies Dovewing." Ivypool called out to her. Blossomfall didn't want to put up with their bickering so she decided that the appropriate thing to do was drive away. She placed her paw on the pedal and drove off. Next stop was Thunderstar's residence.
Georgia was a smooth drive as there wasn't any traffic but the cars were more numerous compared to yesterday when they took off at four in the morning. What remained was a four hour drive down the state. Getting into the state of Florida was easy as Blossomfall knew she could do eighty on the highway and still be regarded as a slow obstacle for the other drivers. Honeyfern was busy playing with her ticket as she passed Molewhisker's ticket to Ivypool.
"Here Molewhisker would like to play a game." Honeyfern mewed to Ivypool as Ivypool grabbed the ticket.
"How much money did you win on your ticket?" Ivypool asked as she wanted to see if she managed to win anything.
"Well I won about four dollars." Honeyfern responded as Ivypool nodded.
"Sure…" Ivypool handed Molewhisker his ticket as he began to scratch off the numbers. The numbers were fifteen and nineteen. Molewhisker knew his luck was being tested as he began scratching off the ticket.
"Let's see what I can win." Molewhisker responded as he scratched his way through the ticket with a quarter. Ivypool looked on with curiosity as she was wondering what Molewhisker was going to win. He was finished with his game in a matter of minutes as Ivypool looked over to see what her friend managed to win.
"So how much did you win?" Ivypool asked as she wanted to see what Molewhisker won. She peeked at his ticket as she looked at it.
"About four dollars." Molewhisker responded as he looked at the ticket, he didn't win any off the bonuses which he was bummed out about but, he at least won something.
The truck continued making its way through Florida, off of I-95 and onto the sunrise parkway for the rest of the trip. The truck drove down it as the others were chatting or sleeping. It was already one in the afternoon when they pulled into the gated community.
"So who would you like to see?" A white she-cat asked as she was operating the gate.
"We drove twelve hundred miles to pay Thunderstar a visit, can we please go in?" Blossomfall asked as she wanted to see him.
"Okay sure." She responded as the gate opened. Blossomfall knew they were allowed in.
Blossomfall and the others drove on through the community as they were looking for Thunderstar's house and where to park. They then parked in front of his house as Poppyfrost knew she needed to face him again to see what he wanted. Poppyfrost grabbed her phone and dialed Thunderstar's number in.
"Hello?" Thunderstar asked as he was looking at his phone, face timing with Poppyfrost.
"Hello." Poppyfrost greeted him as she and the gang were at their location. Thunderstar looked around as he realized where they were.
"I see my front yard in this picture, are you sure you're here?" Thunderstar asked as he wanted to see if they were truly here.
"Yeah we're here." Poppyfrost responded as he wanted to give Thunderstar the all clear that it was truly them.
"Yeah come on in." Thunderstar responded. Poppyfrost hung up as she walked over to the door and opened it. She and the others walked in as they were amazed with the small living space that Thunderstar had. Violet Dawn was also there as she was ready to greet them.
"Welcome darlings." Violet Dawn mewed as she hugged Poppyfrost as she had entered. The other cats walked over as Thunderstar got up to greet the visitors.
"Welcome!" Thunderstar's voice croaked as he walked over to greet them. He hugged Molewhisker and shook his paw with him.
"So you like this place huh?" Violet Dawn mewed as they began looking around.
"Yeah it is comfy for a small living space." Blossomfall responded as she knew she needed a nap from driving all morning. She laid down on the couch as Violet Dawn continued to speak.
"So, we got company coming over in a few so get yourselves settled. I'll introduce you to Gray Wing and his family." Violet Dawn responded as she was busy preparing lunch for the travel weary cats. "You guys want some Tuna Fish?"
"Sure I guess." Cherryfall responded as maybe some lunch could do her good as she was stretching her legs. Violet Dawn grabbed some of the small pieces of Pita bread and began making the tuna fish sandwiches, the tuna fish salad had tuna, celery and Mayo and Violet Dawn was whipping them up like crazy.
"So tell us what you plan on doing for this vacation?" Violet Dawn asked as she wanted to tell them what their plans involve them doing.
"We don't know for sure but we plan on heading from place to place and working our way back home." Poppyfrost asked as she grabbed one of the sandwiches. Molewhisker was still exploring as he wanted to go from place to place to see what he wanted to see.
"Maybe we could ask Thunderstar what he wants for dinner later." Violet Dawn responded as she was still preparing lunch.
"I think he would enjoy something nice as he will be heading out for his appointment then he will be heading shopping for this said dinner." Honeyfern responded as she grabbed her tuna fish and began to eat it. A knock was heard as Violet Dawn looked at the door.
"Come in." Violet Dawn told those who were at the door. The door opened as Gray Wing came in along with Slate, with his son White Tail and his girlfriend Flower Foot.
"Greetings everyone." Gray Wing mewed into his microphone as he wheezed. Thunderstar walked over to him as Slate walked over to the new faces inside of the house.
"Nice to meet you as well." Thunderstar greeted Gray Wing. Gray Wing looked at the unfamiliar faces that were hanging out in this room.
"Who are they?" Gray Wing asked as he seemed curious about what was happening.
"That's Poppyfrost and her friends, Blossomfall, Honeyfern, Dovewing, Ivypool, Cherryfall and Molewhisker." Thunderstar introduced them to the group. Molewhisker was busy eating his food as Slate came up to greet him.
"Nice to meet you Molewhisker, I'm Slate." Slate introduced herself as she hugged Molewhisker.
"Yeah nice to meet you too." Molewhisker mewed as he was happy to meet her too. Thunderstar laughed as the company decided to settle down for lunch. Molewhisker kept silent as Cherryfall was talking to White Tail about what she did last month.
"...so you went around the world in one week huh?" White Tail asked Cherryfall if this was true.
"Yeah that's true but I wanted to see if you were going to do this, then we went drinking and it started a fight with my friends. And then we ended up taking two separate flights back home. I went with another friend." Cherryfall responded as she looked at him. "So what do you plan on doing?"
"I actually plan on taking a business trip up north a couple days from now until Thursday morning when I return with Flower Foot." White Tail mewed as he wanted to see how she would respond.
"I wish you luck but me and my friends and family will be heading to Jupiter Beach after this as we will be laying around and playing in the sand." Cherryfall responded as that was her answer. "Then we will head north, go to an amusement park for a couple of places, then we will go to a cove with Dolphins another day and we'll go to Tennessee and finish the trip up there." Cherryfall laid out her plan on what she and everyone else had agreed to do. White Tail nodded as he began speaking.
"Wow, sounds like you will have a fun two weeks ahead of you, good luck." White Tail responded as the others were just hanging out and talking among themselves. Molewhisker stayed silent. Ivypool decided to sit next to him.
"You seem to be distant, what ia going on?" Ivypool asked Molewhisker if he was staying silent due to the activity that was happening. Molewhisker looked at Ivypool as he didn't know what to say.
"I'm just bored and tired from the trip. That's all." Molewhisker responded. Ivypool's ears drooped as she saw that Molewhisker had been doing nothing but sleeping for most of the trip.
"I know you seem tired and I think you need some sleep. Let me help you." Ivypool told Molewhisker.
'You would?" Molewhisker asked as he looked at Ivypool as he was curious about her helping him.
``Yeah I think Violet wouldn't mind if we used one of her beds." Ivypool told Molewhisker as she decided to lead Molewhisker to one of the bedrooms. Molewhisker followed as he could use a charge up.
The room that Ivypool lead Molewhisker into as a small room with a pink bed. Molewhisker yawned as he laid down onto the bed. Ivypool circled around as Molewhisker snuggled into the pillow.
"Tired?" She purred as Molewhisker yawned.
"Yeah I am, a nap should really do me good, I didn't sleep well last night despite sleeping better than the night before. Blossomfall woke me up at five in the morning as I was sharing a bed with you Ivypool. I wasn't comfortable in the truck either." Molewhisker responded as he didn't know what he wanted to say. Ivypool looked at him as she got into the bed as well.
"Maybe we could share the bed like last night if you don't mind." Ivypool purred as she rested her head on Molewhisker as she was getting comfortable with him.
"Yeah I guess that's the answer." Molewhisker responded as he yawned. He cuddled into the pillow as Ivypool cuddled into Molewhisker. Within moments, they were both asleep on the bed as they were both taking a nap to recharge themselves after a long drive.
The hours would tick by as Gray Wing and his friends left as White Tail had to prepare for his journey. Thunderstar had left as he went to go shopping for food. Blossomfall and Violet Dawn were speaking.
"Yeah what would you like to make, I heard Cherryfall and her brother like Thai." Violet Dawn asked as she was busy preparing dinner.
"You said you were roasting potatoes with chicken that Thunderstar was buying and he still hasn't come back." Blossomfall mewed to Violet Dawn to stick to what she had said earlier. Poppyfrost was slicing up some potatoes and vegetables.
"I hope you like some onions and Zucchini." Violet Dawn responded as she looked at the others as the door opened as Molewhisker and Ivypool walked on out to see what was going on.
"Yeah I saw you two are awake, maybe we can find what you want to eat." Honeyfern responded as she saw that they had awoken from their nap.
"Maybe what you're making as I am starving." Ivypool responded as she walked over to the table to see what they were making. Thunderstar then walked in as he was carrying a couple of bags of food.
"Went to Costco on the way home as I went to pick up a few things." Thunderstar responded as he got out a couple of chicken's that had already been cooked.
"So you planning on sauteeing it all?" Dovewing asked as she was enjoying a can of cream soda. She was sipping it as she was watching the ending of a western movie. Poppyfrost looked at Molewhisker and Ivypool.
"You've been out for a couple of hours so I think you had a nap. How was it?" Poppyfrost asked how their nap was.
"The nap was pretty refreshing. I felt like I haven't slept in days." Molewhisker responded as he looked at his mother.
"I see and Ivypool's been keeping you company from what I have heard. Has she been treating you well?" Poppyfrost asked as Molewhisker yawned as he was waking up.
"Yeah company for the naps and I didn't know she was cuddling me when I woke up." Molewhisker responded as he was taking note of Ivypool's behavior. Poppyfrost laughed.
"Yeah, dinner should be ready in a little bit so settle yourselves down." Poppyfrost told him that he should relax and socialize. Molewhisker sat down on the couch with Ivypool as they were going to listen to the sounds of them cooking the dinner.
Dinner time would come around as Thunderstar and Violet Dawn had prepared the chicken, Potatoes and the sauteed vegetables. Thunderstar was busy serving everyone as everyone was talking around the table.
"So how is life here ever since you've retired Thunderstar?" Honeyfern asked as she was eating her food.
"Yeah It's good, I like it here, the weather is humid in the summers to where it hurts our joints but the winters are mild. There are plenty of gators though." Thunderstar began as he was talking between bites of food.
"Gators? Are they dangerous?" Dovewing asked as she wanted to see if they were harmful.
"They're not, they are harmless because they are babies but they remove them from this area when they reach a certain size since they get dangerous as they can eat someone. We also get these lizards from time to time as they're small but you can see them darting from bush to bush looking for flies. We also get these snakes as they are the ones that you should truly watch out for. One bite and you will have to be sent to the hospital." Thunderstar mewed as he was talking about the native life in this area.
"Yeah there was this one time where we found this water moccasin that was in the bushes. It scared many of us but this grizzly old tom came up with a giant machete as he went up with the machete and poked it as hard as he could, the snake fell limp as it was gone. That tom saved us all for sure." Violet Dawn responded as everyone was eating.
"Wow we surely had an eventful story, but at least the snake didn't bite anyone so that was good." Blossomfall mewed as she was eating the potatoes.
"Sure it is, we spot a lot of weird stuff where we live so snakes would be one of the lifeforms you will see." Thunderstar responded as the Poppyfrost looked at the clock. It was getting late for sure.
"I hate to be rude but we need to get to our hotel room so let us finish our dinner and get us to the hotel room." Poppyfrost mewed as she knew it was getting late. She got up as she began walking out.
"Sure thing, when will we see you?" Thunderstar asked as he wondered what when they were going to see her and her group.
"Tomorrow." Poppyfrost responded. Everyone cleaned up their dinner as they walked out of the house followed by the others. Everyone packed themselves back into the truck as Blossomfall got into the driver's seat.
"I see you tomorrow." Blossomfall mewed as she looked at Thunderstar and Violet Dawn one last time as she drove away. Within a moment, the truck was spotted one last time as it had turned around. They were now on their way to the hotel. Their next stop: Jupiter Beach.
The truck arrived at the hotel nearly an hour later as they had spent the entire sunset driving to the beach. Once they managed to get there as one of the cats wheeled his way over with a luggage. He looked over at the cats as he wanted to make sure that the cats needed their stuff carried in.
"Want me to help you unload?" He asked. Poppyfrost got out from the truck as she walked over to the hotel and entered. Blossomfall and the others were unloading the truck so they could take their stuff up. Poppyfrost rang the bell as she looked at the white she-cat working behind the front desk as she rang the bell.
"How can I help you?" She asked Poppyfrost for any of the rooms.
"Can I get two rooms?" Poppyfrost asked as Molewhisker and Cherryfall entered the door. The white she-cat looked at Poppyfrost as she was getting the rooms registered as she grabbed the wristbands.
"Your rooms are 803 and 804 on the eighth floor." She responded as she handed them the wristbands. The tom wheeled the bags in as Poppyfrost grabbed the wristbands. "If you want to call the front desk, dial the number zero." She responded as Molewhisker grabbed one of the wristbands as he slipped it on his wrist.
"I'll be heading up to the room, I'll meet you there." Molewhisker told Poppyfrost as he went over and rang the button to head up. The door opened as Molewhisker entered the elevator. Poppyfrost and Cherryfall looked on as he was carrying his belongings as he was going to get a head start.
Molewhisker went up to the eighth floor as he turned right to see one of the rooms, he turned left and saw 801 as the room, he was heading in the right direction. He looked at 803 and scanned the wristband as the door blinked green. He then opened the door and went inside. The room was smaller than expected but the bathroom was big and had a nice shower. He hopped onto the table and began to get onto his laptop and prepared to get onto the wifi. Poppyfrost and the others entered the room moments later as Poppyfrost looked at her son.
"Molewhisker, you ran up so far ahead that you forgot the code for the wifi." Poppyfrost responded as he looked at Poppyfrost.
"Oh sorry I got excited." Molewhisker giggled. Cherryfall looked up as she saw the welcoming turtle.
"We need the turtle, I want to get it." Cherryfall responded as she wanted the turtle.
"It's twenty one dollars, are you sure you want it?" Ivypool asked if Cherryfall wanted this turtle.
"I'll think about it." Cherryfall responded as she didn;t know if she was ready to make that decision. Dovewing laughed when she walked to the room next door. The second day was done and tomorrow was going to be exciting.
