Chapter 13: Interrogation Zone:

A/N: Due to viruses speaking in code as opposed to humans speaking their respected languages, the following lines of the FunSoul worm have been translated from binary to text.

Upon spotting the FunSoul worm incapacitated,

Void and the 3 hedgehogs approached the worm very carefully and picked it up to carry it. They were ready to take the worm into quarantine.

When the heroes arrived in quarantine, the cell doors slid open automatically as they placed FunSoul onto the floor.

Under the table was some rope. Void immediately grabbed it and tied the worm down to restrain it from any movement.

Void then pulled out 3 chairs for Sonic and his friends to sit on. As the hedgehogs took a seat, the worm finally awakened.

Furious, FunSoul began to squirm like a mad worm as it was trying to break the ropes and get free, but no matter how many times FunSoul squirmed, the worm was still restrained.

Void then approached FunSoul and drew his sword. He aimed it at the worm's neck as Sonic got up to his feet and demanded,

"Alright you big bozo, what did you do to SNT and the girls?!!!"

"Yee haw!" Shouted the worm in anger as it continued to struggle.

Sonic looked confused at what the worm's answer was, "...What?"

"Yee haw!" FunSoul shouted once again.

"I don't understand what you're..."

As Silver walked over to pick up his chair while Shadow returned to his seat, Sonic then stepped forward and continued questioning the worm.

"Blast away!!!" Shouted Sonic as Sonic speed dashed while shadow ran towards the worm and Silver zipped into the air straight towards the worm.

The trio hit the worm head on towards it's chest, until FunSoul was incapacitated once again.

After attacking FunSoul, the hedgehogs then turned around to speak to Void,

"So, how in the world are we gonna save SNT and her friends?!" Sonic asked,

"Well unfortunately, because Genesis is a deserted island on the far corners of the computer world, we're gonna need some transportation. From there, we can go anti-viruses blazing against Optical Illusions and save the girls before they get blue screened." Void answered,

"If it can help save Maria... Then I'm in." Shadow said as he lifted his arm forward.

"THEN LET'S GO!!!" Shouted Silver as he also placed his hand over shadow's.

Both Sonic and Void hesitated at first as they had a quick stare down. But just then, Void placed his hand on top of Silver's and Sonic eventually followed suit.

With the heroes' hands forward, they lifted their arms in the air and immediately headed for the exit where Minister Norton was performing some maintenance in the server.

As he attempted to fix the servers from the FunSoul worm which caused damage earlier, he was speaking with cyber police on the walkie talkie.

"Dammit, no luck in finding those girls? Alright, let me know if the perpetrators responsible get charged with kidnapping and impersonating police officers, and if you found the missing girls. This is Minister Norton, logging off." Said Norton as he spoke to the walkie talkie.

Norton then turned his head to see the heroes attempt to leave the school.

"Halt!!! And just where do you boys think you're going?" Norton asked while putting away the walkie talkie.

Void approached Norton while bowing his head in shame, "Minister Norton, I do apologize for violating your rules and regulations of this academy. As I know I'm not allowed to interrogate quarantine victims until I become an S-tier anti-virus.

But I recently interrogated the FunSoul worm responsible for attacking the academy and I know where we can find the girls!!!"

Minister Norton was shocked to hear the allegations that Void brought forward against Norton's long time 'friend'.

"...Yes minister. Every room within the U.A.V academy contains a security camera. If we can sift through the security footage. I can guarantee you, that all the proof you'll need to charge Webroot with mutiny can be found in this very school." Void responded while bowing down towards Norton.

Suddenly, Sonic stepped forward towards Norton next to Void and answered,

"Minister Norton, listen. I won't lie... but my friendship with this blue robot lately has unfortunately been very salty. But as the age old saying goes. An enemy's enemy is my friend.

Now we were all there when we saw the FunSoul worm kidnap the girls, and this robot even found security footage of Webroot speaking with Total AV, creating the FunSoul worm and betraying us by contacting the cyber police.

If you want proof, all you have to do is follow us down the rabbit hole... And you'll see all the evidence you need to accuse Webroot of this criminal offence."

Norton placed his hand under his chin and thought about it for a minute,

Once Norton finished thinking, he walked towards the blue hedgehog and the blue robot and said, "Show Me!!!"

Later, Void led Norton and the hedgehogs into the security room where ClamWin, McAfee, AVG, Kaspersky, Avira and MalwareBytes were all digging through the footage of Webroot betraying the U.A.V.

As everyone grabbed a chair and took a seat. ClamWin pressed the spacebar to play the surveillance footage, and they all watched the footage that would scar them for a very long time.

The footage began with Webroot's voice call with Total AV in an empty classroom as Void was eaves dropping.

"The viruses are with us tonight... My old friend." Said Webroot as he spoke towards what looked like a minister wearing black and red armor, and a red cape with a red shield and black keyhole logo. It was very difficult for Void to tell who it was because the computer screen was glitchy and very static. But the voice coming from the chat clearly didn't fool him whatsoever.

"Excellent!!" Said Total AV who was happy to chat with Webroot.

"Total AV? How in the hell did he survive after our last encounter?!" Void whispered in shock.

"Tell me Webroot, how long have we parted company since we last saw each other in college?" Asked Total AV.

"40 years." Responded Webroot.

"So Webroot and Total AV knew each other long before Webroot joined the U.A.V." Whispered Void as he was starting to understand that Webroot and Total AV were best friends during their school years.

"But now that we are reunited after 40 years, it's time to put my next plan in motion which can hopefully overthrow the U.A.V." Said Total AV as he rubbed his hands together.

"That's great to hear, so what is it?" Asked Webroot who was eager to hear his plans.

Suddenly, a giant worm entered the classroom through the ceiling vents and approached Webroot. He shockingly began to pet the worm as the worm sniffed him.

"So... all this time, Webroot was a traitor." Whispered Void as he secretly watched Webroot petting the giant worm.

"May I introduce to you... the SoBig worm. Tis a worm that shuts down email services and mass mails itself onto millions of computers. It was deactivated on November 7th 2003. But thanks to my programming skills, the SoBig worm has finally returned... Stronger than ever." Said Total AV.

Webroot continued petting the worm while Void secretly looked on.

"Now listen up Webroot, on November 7th which is also the 60th anniversary of the SoBig worm's deactivation, we will strike all the email services from around the globe in hopes that emails and text messages will cease to exist. Once all communication services have been shut down... a more dangerous form of malware will rampage throughout the servers." Said Total AV.

Webroot applauded for Total AV's plan but immediately stopped to explain the risks behind the overall scheme. "Tis an exquisite plan my old friend. However, we have one major flaw... What about... Your son?" Asked Webroot implying that Void Ranger had previously fought and defeated his father in cyberspace.

Total AV approached the computer screen with a furious look on his face, "Train the boy, teach him the ways of the united anti-virus movement. And then... give the worm it's 'blueberry desert.'" Growled Total AV as he wants revenge after Void destroyed his defense platform last year.

"Yes minister, it will be done as ordered sir." Responded Webroot as he bowed before Total AV before switching off the computer to exit the room.

When the footage stopped, Kaspersky and Avira sat silently, unable to comprehend what they just saw.

McAfee, AVG and MalwareBytes looked angry, as if they wanted to find Webroot and destroy him.

Finally, Minister Norton and ClamWin looked shocked as they continued to watch the horror unfold deeper.

The next footage showed Void getting attacked during the seek test in the stasis tube a few nights ago.

MalwareBytes slowly filled an empty stasis tank with Grey liquid medicine as SNT carried Void in her arms. Just before SNT could dip him into the tube, she hugged him and said, "I'll watch over you, I swear."

She then dipped Void into the tube, just as MalwareBytes connected an oxygen tube in his mouth. Once the oxygen tube was in Void's mouth, Void's entire body was submerged within the stasis tank.

SNT then jumped off the stasis tube and landed on the floor where she would approach Void who was motionless but still breathing. She placed her hand on the tube where void's hand was located and said. "Everything is gonna be okay Void, you'll feel better, we can take the first exam together and we'll get through this."

As SNT continued to watch over Void, a vent door open and a green arm that looked like Webroot's threw a bucket of Cookie flies in the air that were shaped like chocolate chip cookies.

The cookies flew by the stasis tank and tried to fly around SNT to tickle her and distract her.

"Hey cut that out!" Laughed SNT as she was swooshing away the cookies.

Unfortunately, this put Void Ranger in a vulnerable situation, as SNT was chasing the flies out of the stasis room and into the hallway. Void unfortunately had no one to look out for him.

To make matters worse for Void, Minister Webroot secretly climbed to the top of the tank with a worm in his hand, he then opened up the stasis tank and gently placed the worm inside as it slowly slithered into the tank with Void Ranger trapped inside.

The ministers then saw the gruesome footage of Void attempting to fight off the worm as Webroot quietly made his escape from a nearby vent.

The ministers all looked mortified at what they were witnessing.

ClamWin looked away in disgust while the other ministers became outraged as they drew their swords and raised them in the air in protest.

"Down with Webroot!!! Down with Webroot!!! Down with Webroot!!!" The ministers yelled in unison,

"He's a b*d!!! He's a god damn b*d!!!" AVG shouted as the ministers continuously yelled, "Down with Webroot!!! Down with Webroot!!! Down with Webroot!!!"

The final nail on the coffin footage showed Minister Webroot in the security room as he was seen installing the FunSoul worm to attack everyone and capture the girls.

Watching them from the security room was Minister Webroot, who was sitting in front of many holographic computer screens and was secretly spying on them through the camera.

"So, little Void Ranger and his adorable little SNT are in love, hmm?" Webroot said to himself while thinking out loud.

"This adorable chimera will soon become the catalyst for my next great scheme.

Before the U.A.V ball begins, I shall create a brand new piece of malware that will capture the beast and lure her into our laboratory."

Webroot then began to type on the keyboard,

"Once I have this girl in my possession, I shall open up a new script, and attempt to create a blue screen memory dump by dividing the values by zero.

Once the memory dump is successful, the adorable little chimera will be trapped inside the dreaded blue screen. And from there, once we install a fresh operating system and infect it with my greatest creation ever made, Elite will be waiting for her... And he will kill her!!!" He laughed as he hit the enter button on his keyboard.

"With SNT dead, Elite will absorb all of her 'special' powers, making Elite the most unstoppable killing machine. And the U.A.V will finally tremble before me!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!" Laughed Webroot as he stared at his new malicious script he was currently creating.

Webroot then continued to type on his computer once again, "Now before we can execute this perfect scheme... What say you, we have some fun with the police, shall we?

Tis a little something that Total AV and I have secretly been working on called FunSoul. This little worm will be the very script that will bring the adorable little beast to me. Tis a worm that mass mails itself onto victim's address books in Macrosoft Outbox.

It redirects the homepage to a 9 dragons terrorist support page, and attempts to dial 911 every time the computer reboots. Provided of course, if the computer is connected to an internet modem.

And because the cyber police are so corrupt, game set and match... Optical Illusions. Now then, lets light some fireworks, shall we?" Webroot laughed as he pressed the enter button to activate the worm.

The security footage then turned to static as the camera feed came to an end.

Void, the ministers, and the 3 hedgehogs then stood silently and stared at Norton as he was looking at the footage which was static at the moment.

He then turned to face everyone in the room; he was furious. He then stepped onto one of the chairs and shouted, "Ministers of the U.A.V, hedgehogs!!!"

Norton then took out his remote and rewound the footage to a still shot of Minister Webroot, "Gaze at the suspect standing before you. He sent many pieces of malware against our beloved school, he kidnapped one of our best students and her friends. He even insulted our staff!!!" Norton shouted as he stared at both AVG and ClamWin.

"Warriors of the U.A.V. On this night, we will show no remorse against Minister Webroot. Tonight, we shall storm the island of Genesis and save our friends. Tonight... WE SHALL BRING WEBROOT TO JUSTICE!!!" Norton shouted as he put his hands in the air prompting for the U.A.V to applaud and cheer for Norton's speech.

Meanwhile, on the deserted island of Genesis; inside a military base surrounded by tanks, patrolling nanobots and viruses roaming free, Total AV was sitting in his control room and typing the codes to complete the Elite virus.

As Total AV continued to type, the automatic doors opened, and evil clones brought forward poor SNT who was still tied up.

Total AV got up from his chair and began circling around SNT as he was prepared to torment her,

"Well well well, look who's finally returned to Optical Illusions. We meet again miss SNT, and I see you have brought some friends along with you." Total AV said looking impressed as SNT bent her head down looking sad.

SNT then lifted her head and gave Total AV an angry look,

"Total AV, I knew you were up to trouble!!! Especially when you kidnapped me and my friends from the academy!!!" She shouted,

SNT then looked down at her tied hands as she squirmed and struggled to break free from the ropes, "What are you gonna do with us?" She asked,

Total AV then approached his computer and typed a quick sentence of code before turning his head back towards SNT,

"Welcome to Genesis, miss SNT. By the end of this night, I shall inaugurate a war between Optical Illusions and the U.A.V academy. Once the war has begun, we shall send our most advanced piece of malware ever created; which we like to call... Elite. Once Elite enters the academy, the U.A.V will fall and I shall succeed in my revenge." Total AV explained.

SNT then got down on her knees and demanded for more information,

"Why are you doing this? Why harm innocent people?!!! What have these students ever done to you to deserve this?!!!" She cried,

Total AV calmly approached her and explained his motives even further,

"The answer is quite simple miss SNT. You see, these students are destined to become programmers or ministers of the U.A.V. Once they achieve their goals, they will chase after my virus syndicate which I've rebuilt from the ground up after our previous encounter. Don't you remember?" Total AV asked her,

"Yes.. yes I do..." SNT said as she began to remember the final battle aboard the space defense platform in cyberspace.

SNT and 2 clones charged towards each other. As the 2 clones tried to stab SNT, she ducked and blasted the 2 clones into orbit. Suddenly, 3 more clones attempted to attack SNT, one managed to throw a good punch at her.

Just then, Saki Chao flew towards the clone that attacked SNT and side kicked him in the head sending him into orbit along with the 2 other clones SNT destroyed.

Meanwhile, Void was surrounded by 6 clones who began to charge at him and attempted to slash him. Void used his own sword to block and stab all 6 clones to their stomachs, to which the force of the stab killed off the clones who got stuck on Void's sword like kebabs. Void then kicked the clones out of his sword as they flew into orbit.

Later, 3 more clones tried to stab Void and hack him to death, Void was losing. But luckily, SNT rolled up into a ball and struck the 3 clones sending them into orbit.

Suddenly, 2 missiles were being carried by claws as they were being positioned to attack the binary coded earth that stood before them. This was SNT's chance. She boosted towards the claw and proceeded to blast it with her blaster. After 3 hits per claw, the missiles were released from the claw as they fell down into orbit.

Unfortunately, SNT became a target for the clones to attack since she disabled 2 of the 10 virus missiles. The clones ran towards SNT while grinding their swords to the floor which emitted sparks and the clones showed no mercy towards SNT.

Thankfully for SNT, 3 clones were stabbed in the side of the head by Void's sword as he jumped on them while they fell to the ground to grab his sword and join SNT for the onslaught ahead.

Once the memories cleared from SNT's mind, Total AV approached her and picked her up by her ponytail.

"AHHHH!!" Cried SNT as she yelled in pain,

"Because of you, and my pathetic excuse of a son... I lost everything." Total AV shouted,

Total AV then slams SNT to the floor as the clones picked her up and forcefully brought her back to her feet,

"And yet, I am still proud as to how far Optical Illusions still stands as the most dangerous virus syndicate known to man!!! And tonight, we shall prove once again why Optical Illusions still stands strong against the U.A.V!!!"

Total AV then snaps his fingers as the automatic doors behind SNT slide open, revealing Minister Webroot walking passed SNT to approach Total AV. SNT looked at Webroot; she was shocked to see how Webroot betrayed his own people,

"Minister Total AV, we're ready. The Elite virus is ready for execution." Webroot announced,

SNT took a few steps forward and began to yell at Webroot,

"Webroot?!!!" What are you doing?!!! You're supposed to be a teacher for the U.A.V academy!!! And yet I find you in Optical Illusions helping the enemy. How could you do this to us?!!!" she shouted as she shed some tears.

"My apologies miss SNT, but I know my duties. And my duties lie with my best friend from over 40 years... Minister Total AV and his company of Optical Illusions." Webroot said with a smile on his face.

Webroot then turned to SNT and began to explain his betrayal,

"You see SNT. it's because of me, Total AV infected millions of computers with the Void Ranger rogue software. It's because of me, the academy was recently under attack; time and time again.

It was because of me, I made your lives a living hell, and I do not intend to stop infecting millions anytime soon!!!" Roared Webroot as he approached SNT and gave her a huge backhand to the side of her head causing her to fall to the floor.

And again, the clones forcefully picked her up and carried her back to her feet.

"So you sent all those viruses to attack the academy, you hacked into the security systems to have us kidnapped!!! And all this time... you were the enemy." SNT said with an angry look in her eyes.

Webroot took a few steps back and bowed before her, "Indeed miss SNT. Allow me to re-introduce myself. I am Virut, one of 3 U.A.V ministers who rebelled against the United Anti-Virus movement to form Optical illusions."

SNT became shocked as she backed away while still trying to break free,

"Then... if you're not Webroot, and both you and Total AV are 2 of 3 anti-viruses who betrayed the U.A.V... Then who's the 3rd anti-virus?!!!" SNT shouted as she was demanding for answers.

"That is not important at the moment. What's important now is that the time has come to put operation 'Divide By Zero' into motion." Laughed Virut,

Virut then lifted his arm up and pointed towards SNT,

"AND YOU ARE GOING TO ASSIST US!!!" Virut roared,

SNT then looked sternly into Virut's eyes, "And if I don't?!!!" She shouted,

Total AV then approached her and placed his hand on her chin and began to sing,

"You are the main attraction.

Your story must be told.

You are a chain reaction,

That never gets old.

Some parts get satisfaction,

Breaking the mold.

Some parts are just distractions,

Some parts are just gold."

SNT flinched her head once Total AV stopped singing, he then approached SNT and delivered her an ultimatum,

"If you should refuse to assist us, then all your friends shall die!" Shouted Total AV.

SNT bent down on her knees and begged for Total AV to end this conflict,

"You can't do this!!! My friends are just innocent people!! You wish to use the lives of my friends as ransom in exchange for helping you?!!!"

Virut then bowed before SNT and answered, "Trust me SNT. Whether you assist us or not, you'll be joining them soon, I assure you."

With no other option, SNT bowed her head in sadness, "U.A.V academy, it's all my fault. I should have been stronger for all of you. Especially you... Void. But now I'm faced with a choice... to destroy the academy... or destroy my friends..."

SNT began to shed some tears, "Alright, you win. I'll help you. Just please don't harm any of my friends." She bargained,

"That's a good girl." Said Total AV looking very impressed as he walked towards his computer, "Now then, name me the command to disable the firewalls."

SNT was shocked as she realized Total AV was gonna weaken the academy's defenses.

"DISABLE THE FIREWALLS?!!! BUT THE ACADEMY WILL BE DEFENSELESS AND VULNERABLE TO VIRUS ATTACKS!!! I WON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!!!" SNT yelled.

Total AV turned his head back towards SNT looking sternly towards her,

"Which is exactly what I want, in order to inaugurate this war between the U.A.V and Optical Illusions, the firewalls of the academy must be weakened, before Optical Illusions could prepare to strike."

"BUT YOU'LL KILL PEOPLE!!!" SNT shouted.

Total AV approached her and picked her up once again by her ponytail.

"AHHHH!!!" Cried SNT as he pulled her hair,

"WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR FRIENDS KILLED FIRST?!!!" Total AV Roared,

He then slammed SNT to the ground and approached the computer. He was awaiting SNT's commands as he was ready to type.

SNT slowly squirmed back to her feet. And sadly, she had no other choice but to surrender.

"Control panel... firewalls. New rule, import from XML file. Copy and modify the rules, then right click, duplicate and copy. Then go to properties, adjust behaviors. Apply the new rules... And congratulations... you won." SNT said feeling defeated.

Total AV typed in the commands successfully. And by finally pressing the enter button on his keyboard, Optical Illusions had finally disabled the firewalls of the U.A.V academy.

"Thank you for the much-needed assistance miss SNT. As a result of all your hard work and effort, your services are no longer required." Total AV thanked SNT as he turned his head to face her. "Guards, throw her into quarantine!!!"

As the clones grabbed SNT and pulled her away from Total AV and carried her out of the room, SNT turned her head back towards the minister,

"Wait!!! What about my friends?! You promised I was gonna see my friends!!!" SNT shouted,

"No worries miss SNT, your friends will join you very shortly." Total AV responded as he snapped his fingers while the clones carried SNT out of the room.

"VOOOOOOOID!!!! HEEEEEELP!!!" Screamed SNT,

Total AV then turned towards Virut and gave him a complement,

"Excellent work Virut. Now then, prepare operation 'Divide By Zero', it's time to watch the U.A.V academy fall... under our hands."

Just before leaving the room, Virut bowed before Total AV, "Yes my lord, as you wish."

A few minutes later, the clones carried SNT into Optical Illusions' own quarantine cell, they opened the cell door and threw SNT inside.

"SNT!!!" Cried Maria, Daniela and Nicole in unison as they all ran to her.

All 4 girls were tied up, they had their hands tied behind their back, and their arms pinned to their chest with a knot connected to their wrists. And with no way to get free, all they could do was squirm and struggle.

"SNT!!! ARE YOU OKAY?!!!" Cried Maria as she leaned forward to check on SNT who was injured,

"SNT, you're back! What's going on?!!! Why are we being treated like animals, and why are we all locked in this dungeon looking prison?!!!" Daniela cried as she struggled to get free.

SNT slowly got back to her feet and looked at the cell door and said in an unhappy tone,

"No girls. I am not okay... Brace yourselves girls, Total AV wants to feed us into a blue screen memory dump. Once the blue screen swallows us, he will then load us into a new operating system where we will then be assassinated by his most powerful virus!"

The girls were shocked as they backed away from SNT,

"I DON'T WANT TO BE SACRIFICED!!!" Maria yelled as she began to cry,

"This is awful, have you tried to reason with them?" Daniela asked as she wondered if there was still any hope,

"I knew there was something suspicious about all of this." Nicole asked SNT as she walked forward to stand next to her. "So how do we get out of here?!!!"

SNT began to cry, "I DON'T KNOW IF WE CAN!!! I DON'T KNOW WHERE THE EXIT IS, IF THIS PLACE IS HEAVILY GUARDED, OR WHERE WE ARE ANYWAY!! FACE IT GIRLS, WE'RE TRAPPED!!!"

As Daniela and Nicole went to nuzzle SNT's shoulders to comfort her, Maria approached her and asked,

"Do you think Sonic, Shadow and Silver will be able to rescue us?"

SNT continued to cry, "THEY HAVE TO MARIA, THEY JUST HAVE TO!!!"

The 4 girls then walked towards the prison cell door and stood in a single file,

"Sonic, Shadow and Silver, please save us." Daniela prayed as she bowed her head down.

"I still hope that blue robot shows up too, he still owes me a discount on one of those anti-virus products." Nicole remarked,

"I hope so too Nicole, I hope so too." SNT said as all 4 girls looked up at the cell door and began to cry.
