The next morning, the cats were wandering out onto the beach as they wanted to figure out what they wanted to do. Ivypool was telling the others about what she saw last night.
"So me and Molewhisker saw the turtles last night, two of them, they were crawling up the beach. They were throwing sand all over the place as they seemed like they were digging. I wanted to see if they were going to have their babies." Ivypool told the group what she and her friend saw last night.
"Well we were too tired so we missed out but we will come out tonight." Blossomfall mewed as she looked ahead at the area with the wooden stakes marked with the red tape around in a triangle. "So that area's been marked?" Blossomfall asked as she wanted to figure out if it was true.
"Yep, that nest has been there for a week and a half for now." One of the toms working the area told Blossomfall about the area that had been marked, the turtles had been here and laid their eggs long before Blossomfall and her friends had arrived and took their vacation.
"Oh okay then." Blossomfall responded as the cats began to walk off to get their chairs. Molewhisker, Cherryfall and Ivypool ran down to the ocean as they were going to play in the sand again. Ivypool turned to her right as she noticed the marks that were left in the sand.
"Those tracks are wide." Cherryfall began as she saw the tracks of the turtle. Ivypool went over as she began speaking for her.
"Yeah! They're that big and I wanted to tell you this as the turtles are huge! They crawl up and lay their eggs and we will have to watch the babies crawl back!" Ivypool called out with her excitement.
"I don't know if we will see the babies crawl back but we will see the adults crawling up to have their babies." Molewhisker mewed as he knew that was correct.
"Let's see who's the real loggerhead." Cherryfall mewed as she swam in the ocean as the sandbar wasn't very deep but it went out for what seemed to be for miles..
"Hey let me see!" Ivypool shouted as she splashed some of the water on Molewhisker. Poppyfrost was watching them from afar as she felt her phone ringing as someone was trying to call her. Poppyfrost picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Poppyfrost began as she was answering the phone, it was Violet Dawn on the other side.
"Poppyfrost I heard the news from Gray Wing, White Tail has been exposed to COVID, he's cancelling the barbecue." Violet Dawn began. Poppyfrost didn't know about this change of plans but she knew they needed to figure out what was happening.
"Okay so we got the afternoon open, what do you plan on doing with us?" Poppyfrost asked as there was now one big gap in their schedule. Violet Dawn began to think for a moment as she decided on one thing.
"How about we head out for dinner as there is nothing to do and spend the evening with you." Violet Dawn responded as they knew they had a plan.
"Okay so we'll see you at…?" Poppyfrost asked as she wanted a definite schedule.
"Six. Thunderstar will drive us to the place where we will meet." Violet Dawn responded before she hung up. Poppyfrost nodded as they found out that they made a trade off.
"Okay…" Poppyfrost mewed as Honeyfern got up from her spot.
"I feel hot, I'm going to jump into the ocean." Honeyfern told them as the others nodded with agreement.
"Yeah let's go cool off. Come on Blossomfall, your legs have tanned enough." Poppyfrost mewed to her as they went to the ocean.
The cats dove in as they were now swimming around trying to see what they were going to do. Poppyfrost paddled around as she wanted to see what her kits were up to.
"What are you being?" Poppyfrost asked as her kids were enjoying themselves.
"Turtles." Cherryfall responded as she was swimming around. Poppyfrost laughed.
"I hope you're enjoying your last full day here as tomorrow we're packing up and going to another hotel." Poppyfrost told them as they were going to be leaving the coast behind. Ivypool knew that it reminded her of something.
"Oh yeah about that." Ivypool mewed as she was blushing. She was suddenly splashed in the face as Cherryfall laughed. Blossomfall had resurfaced as she was looking around.
"You a whale or a dolphin or something?" Honeyfern asked as she wanted to see what Blossomfall was.
"I really don't know but…" Blossomfall had cut herself off as she tossed herself into the air and landed into the ocean causing another big splash.
"Wow, we could see why." Honeyfern responded as she gave a laugh, Molewhisker heard it was the last day so he seemed curious.
"Where are we heading to tomorrow?" Molewhisker asked as he was curious about this.
"Orlando, it's a three hour drive to get to so I hope you have everything packed." Poppyfrost told him as she looked up, the clouds were beginning to gather once again.
"Weather's getting harsh again, want to relax by the pool?" Blossomfall mewed as she wanted to figure out what they were going to do next.
"Sure, why not." Cherryfall told them as she made up her mind.
"Come on." Poppyfrost told them as they began to make their way out of the water and to the pool once more. The sand felt hot on their paws so the seven of them were scrambling their way across to see what they were going to do.
Once rinsing their paws from the sand, the cats then made their way to the pool as none of them felt like swimming but instead they wanted to relax in the sun despite the clouds gathering overhead. Poppyfrost walked over as she was carrying drinks for them.
"Pina coladas, with pineapple for everyone, the ones at the bar said that they were going to be closing it down due to the incoming storm that is coming so we're getting used to the weather." Poppyfrost began as she handed them all the drinks. Molewhisker decided to take a sip as Poppyfrost lounged in the sun. She heard her phone ringing as she picked it up. "Hello?" She began.
"Hey Poppyfrost, I heard you were on vacation, how is that going?" The voice over the phone began. She was able to recognize it.
"Oh Berrynose, I'm doing fine, the kits are with me and they are enjoying themselves, how is your business trip?" Poppyfrost responded as she took another sip from her drink.
"Going good, it's going slow though so I missed out, anyways, how are you doing?" Berrynose responded as he was telling how his trip was going.
"We're all fine, me, my sister, the kits, and a few friends of ours are on this trip. We're just relaxing, we're going out to dinner later with Thunderstar and Violet Dawn. We were originally going to have a barbecue but that got cancelled." Poppyfrost explained to Berrynose what she planned on doing and what their plans were.
"That's good. I have to go as another meeting is going to be called up so I need to attend that. Have a good time." Berrynose told Poppyfrost that he was needed elsewhere.
"Okay see you later sweets." Poppyfrost responded as she hung up. Honeyfern looked over to Poppyfrost as she was curious about who called.
"Berrynose huh, I bet he's enjoying his trip." Honeyfern told her sister about who decided to call her.
"I bet he is." Poppyfrost responded as a clap of thunder was heard. Something was coming. "Looks like another storm is coming, I think we should get into our hotel to wait it out." Poppyfrost mewed as they knew that was a good idea. Honeyfern nodded as well as they all got up and decided to head back into the hotel to wait for it to pass.
Inside, Poppyfrost and the others were watching as the rain was pouring down again as it was not as hard as the previous two. Maybe this was something that could be enjoyed.
"Well what is it that Thunderstar and Violet Dawn had agreed to go out with us when we talked about it?" Dovewing asked as she was playing games with her phone.
"It's only one turn to the right and a five minute drive up, it's a delicious seafood place so I bet you will enjoy it." Blossomfall responded as she was researching what it was going to be.
"Seafood, I bet that will be nice." Molewhisker replied as he was looking at the store, he wanted one of those turtles but didn't have the means to achieve getting one. Ivypool was looking at much the same thing but she had an idea in mind.
"What will we be doing after this as we have the whole afternoon and evening to ourselves, we can't just sit in the room after dinner." Ivypool told the group that they couldn't be cooped up in their hotel room waiting for tomorrow to come. The others began to think as Cherryfall remembered something.
"Didn't you say that you and Molewhisker saw turtles as of last night, about two of them?" Cherryfall mewed as she was wondering when the turtles would be coming up.
"Yeah we did, have an idea Cherryfall?" Ivypool asked as she wanted to see what Cherryfall had in mind.
"Well, want to go looking for the turtles if any of them are coming up?" Cherryfall asked. Ivypool began to think about it.
"Well if it could kill off time until tomorrow, then yes." Ivypool mewed as she came to a decision,
"Then it's a plan." Poppyfrost mewed as she knew that they were going to be doing something.
The storm would pass as the cats were preparing to head out, showered and cleaned, Blossomfall was talking to Violet Dawn on the phone. She hung up and then turned to the group.
"They're on their way, they agreed to meet us with them at the place." Blossomfall mewed as she told them about where they were heading. "Come on, we don't want to be late." The others nodded as they all began to make their way to the truck. They all loaded on as they were going to go to their chosen destination.
"Well we're going to be enjoying our food as we will spend the last night here before we pack up and leave." Ivypool told them.
"Are we going home?" Dovewing asked as she wondered if this vacation was over.
"We're not, the fun stuff is next week." Blossomfall responded. She then pressed her paw to the gas as they began to drive off. They were now on their way to the meeting location.
A few minutes would pass as the truck pulled into the location that Thunderstar and Violet Dawn had agreed to meet in. Thunderstar and Violet Dawn were waiting at the entrance as the seven cats appeared and began to walk over. Molewhisker ran up and began to greet Violet Dawn.
"You made it, we're just about ready to get a table for you, we'll be able to decide for you. I hope your time here is wonderful so far." Violet Dawn began as they all began to enter. Dinner was going to be served.
After dinner was finished, the nine cats wandered off into the back as they were now in the dockyard.
"That was good, I really liked the crabs." Molewhisker began as they were walking down the dock.
"Yeah I never knew you like kale Molewhisker, Everyone just keeps giving you their kale and you just keep eating it." Violet Dawn mewed as they were walking along.
"Molewhisker likes his leafy greens raw, he just gobbles it down like it's nothing." Poppyfrost told Violet Dawn about it.
"I think you should leave some raw vegetables aside for him so he could eat it. I bet he'll enjoy it more that way." Violet Dawn responded. Molewhisker and Ivypool were leaning over the side as they were looking at the water below.
"Look at the fish!" Ivypool began. The other cats turned as they began looking at the fish over the side. The light was reflecting off of the clear water as it was clear that hundreds of small fish had gathered near the dock. Molewhisker was looking over the side as the fish were occasionally surfacing to take a look around.
"Must be the catfish because I can see the little whiskers on them." Molewhisker would tell Ivypool about them; Violet Dawn and Blossomfall were still chatting among themselves as they were walking. Cherryfall walked up behind them as she wanted to tell them one thing.
"Come on, you don't want to fall behind." Cherryfall told her brother and Ivypool. The nodded as they then took off to catch up to the rest of the group. The group looped around as they had passed various yacht clubs as well as places to eat. Their cars were nearby but now they were deciding on what they wanted to do next.
"So what next, we're at the end of the road." Dovewing began as they weren't going to keep walking around.
"Well we're out here so we might as well make the most of it, plus we don't know if we can drive home just yet, we want to see the sights of this area." Thunderstar mewed as he wasn't ready to go back. Blossomfall began to think there wasn't a whole lot to do in this area so she began to think.
"Want to head back to the hotel and you can come along with us?" Blossomfall mewed as she was wondering if they would be inclined to come back to the room to stay for a few hours and hang out.
"We love to." Violet Dawn mewed as she would be more than happy to spend some time with them. Blossomfall nodded as she was getting everyone into the car.
"Okay, follow me then." Blossomfall mewed as she got into the truck. The truck began to pull out as they were now on their way back to the hotel. Thunderstar's car followed along with them as they were now heading back to the hotel.
The hotel was only a five minute drive so they had quickly arrived back. The nine cats got out as they began to make their way into the hotel.
"I'll show you two of the rooms we're staying in, the rest, stay on this floor so we can decide on what we can do next." Blossomfall mewed as she clicked the button to the elevator. The door opened as Blossomfall went sinde with Thunderstar and Violet Dawn. Ivypool and Honeyfern went off to the shop while everyone else went to the lounge. After walking for a short distance. They finally arrived at the lounge as Molewhisker prepared a game of billiards while Poppyfrost, Dovewing and Cherryfall were resting on the couch.
"So what time do we go see the turtles?" Cherryfall asked as she wondered when they would see one.
"Ten Cherryfall." Poppyfrost responded about the time that they would see the turtles. Molewhisker was moreover happy playing a game for one as he was happy with just being by himself. Poppyfrost watched him playing along as he was contending himself for the time being until that time would come.
"Let's see what's on, tonight." Dovewing told them as she tried to change the channel but there was nothing to change it to. Dovewing was starting to get upset. "Why aren't we changing the channels?" Dovewing asked as she wanted to figure out what was happening.
"Well let's see if we can fight a remote." Cherryfall told Dovewing. Poppyfrost got up as she went to get a few drinks to help them pass the time before the others would get back. Cherryfall and Dovewing were busy trying to find a remote. Cherryfall came up empty as she didn't know where it was.
"Nope can't find it." Cherryfall mewed as she was empty. Dovewing ran her paw along the underside of the television as she wanted to figure out what they were going to do.
"I tried finding buttons but we're empty as well." Dovewing mewed as she didn't know what she was going to do next. Poppyfrost came back with a few drinks as the cats were looking for something.
"What are you two looking for?" Poppyfrost asked as she wondered if she could help out. Poppyfrost set the drinks down as Cherryfell began.
"A remote, Dovewing wants to change the channel." Cherryfall told Poppyfrost. Poppyfrost nodded as she went over to the shelves to look for a remote for them to change channels with. She kept rubbing her paws all over the shelves as she wanted to see if there was something like that that she could change channels with, much like Dovewing and Cherryfall, she came up empty.
"Nope nothing." Poppyfrost responded. The show that was playing in the background was a crazy version of mini golf as Poppyfrost decided to relax on the couch. "Let's watch this, this is interesting." Poppyfrost rested her head on the back of the couch as she was content with just watching television until the time would come. Ivypool and Honeyfern came walking into the lounge as they quickly found them.
"There you are, I was wondering where you went off to." Honeyfern mewed as she was carrying several shopping bags with a few things that she and Ivypool picked out.
"Come sit with us, have a few drinks with us." Poppyfrost told Honeyfern to hang out with them. Molewhisker finished his game as Ivypool walked over.
"I got you a present." Ivypool began. Molewhisker seemed excited in knowing what it was. He looked at Ivypool with anticipation.
"What is it?" Molewhisker asked as Ivypool got out the billiards balls and began rolling them to Molewhisker. Molewhisker caught them and rolled them back to Ivypool.
"It's a surprise for when we go out onto the beach to look for the turtles." Ivypool mewed as she wanted to keep it a secret for when the time was right.
"Okay, surprise me then." Molewhisker mewed as he kept rolling the balls back and forth to his friend.
"I will, let's keep killing time." Ivypool responded as the time continued to tick pass. Blossomfall, Thunderstar and Violet Dawn came down as they had a tour of the rooms and were now looking forward to enjoying themselves.
"Hey, looks like you're having a good time." Thunderstar began as Molewhisker and Ivypool stopped their playing.
"Yeah we're passing the time so we can get ready to look for those turtles again." Molewhisker told them as Blossomfall and Thunderstar went to the billiards table after he bought a couple of glasses of Rum and Coke.
"You'll be playing with me tonight Blossomfall as my joints hurt so I can't be looking for the turtles." Thunderstar mewed as he arranged a game between himself and Blossomfall.
"You're on." Blossomfall mewed as she was ready to play with him. Honeyfern got up as she was going to leave the two of them alone as they were going to head onto the beach to go looking for the turtles.
The seven cats wandered onto the beach they had been on in the morning, However the bright moon was out as all the heat that had been absorbed into the sand has dissipated away so the sand felt cold on their paws as coming out here was a lot more effective than baking out in the sun. Cherryfall, Dovewing, Poppyfrost and Honeyfern went off as they went looking for turtles. Ivypool and Molewhisker went to the ocean as they looked out head onto the ocean to see where the tide was.
"My goodness, the tide is higher than what it was this morning." Ivypool told Molewhisker about the height of the water. Molewhisker was astonished as well. He then looked up to the moon as he saw that the moon was bright out as it was casting the shadows onto the ground. Molewhisker and Ivypool walked up to one of the beach chairs as they decided to sit in it together. "So Molewhisker, beautiful isn't it out here?" Ivypool began. Molewhisker looked up as he noticed how bright the sky was as he was enjoying his time out here.
"Yeah, the moon is nearly full and there are plenty of stars out." Molewhisker replied. He continued to speak. "When there is a full moon, the tide of the ocean is higher than what it usually is." Molewhisker told Ivypool about it.
"I know the correlation of the moon but thank you for telling me that." Ivypool responded as they were going to keep sitting here together. "But Molewhisker, you said you wanted to see a turtle, right?" Ivypool asked as she wanted to see if Molewhisker managed to remember what he wanted.
"Yeah I definitely do, before we go to the next hotel and continue our vacation from here." Molewhisker replied, He suddenly felt something soft crawling up him as it turned out it was a turtle plush that Ivypool had bought. She wanted to tease her friend as she bought iit as a gift.
"This is for you." Ivypool told Molewhisker as she showed him the turtle.
"No way." Molewhisker responded as he became excited. He then wrapped himself around Ivypool as he was purring. "Thank you so much." Molewhisker was lost for words as he didn't know what to say next. Poppyfrost and the others came racing over as they believed they spotted a turtle by the beach chair.
"Hey we found one!... Oh it's just you." Honeyfern mewed as her excitement was dashed thinking they found a turtle.
"It's just us and Molewhisker is lost for words for what I gave him." Ivypool told them as she knew that it was just them goofing off.
"That's very sweet of you Ivypool." Poppyfrost told Ivypool about her present. Cherryfall looked around as she spotted a huge dark shape making its way up the beach.
"Hey there's one." Cherryfall mewed as everyone turned their heads, a huge leatherback was making its way up the beach.
"Oh look at the size of that thing!" Violet Dawn mewed as the turtle was slowly crawling its way up. Blossomfall and Thunderstar had arrived as they went to go look for Violet Dawn.
"There you are and what are you doing?" Blossomfall mewed. Ivypool pointed for Blossomfall to look at the turtle that was crawling up.
"Look, a turtle." Ivypool told Blossomfall. Blossomfall and Thunderstar looked at the turtle that was making its way up the sand, it was heading for the brush to lay its eggs.
"I know, this beach is known for its turtles that I looked it up." Cherryfall mewed as the turtle continued to crawl along the beach. The cats looked on as they were more than excited to spot the turtle that was crawling along. The cats looked up at the moon that was casting down on them. The turtle was easy to spot and identify but its color was unknown due to the lack of sunlight.
"Truly amazing." Honeyfern mewed as they watched the turtle slowly crawl off into the underbrush.
"So I wonder if we are going to spot anymore?" Thunderstar asked as they were ready to begin looking for more turtles.
"I don't think with the moon this bright we will spot any more turtles, I think the moon is scaring them." Violet Dawn mewed as they had at least spotted one. They decided to head back up the beach as other cats were making similar journeys up and down the sandy coast. Molewhisker was happy that he's got something he'll remember the hotel by and everyone managed to spot a turtle tonight. When they got to the lobby, Thunderstar and Violet Dawn looked at them as they were bidding them farewell.
"See you tomorrow when you come over for lunch before making your way to Orlando." Violet Dawn told Blossomfall and her gang that they will see them tomorrow morning. Violet Dawn and Thunderstar walked away as they said their goodbye. The elevator door opened as the cats boarded it and prepared to head for their rooms. This was their last night here and they needed to leave in the morning.
In the room, Molewhisker was taking pictures of the turtle he got with the turtle in the room. He then took pictures of the turtle that was in the room by itself.
"I'm tired, I'm off to bed." Poppyfrost mewed as she rested her head on the pillow. Molewhisker walked over as he went to his bed.
"I'm excited for this weekend as we have an adventure ahead. Goodnight." Molewhisker told Poppyfrost as he rested his head on the pillow and within moments, he was out. Tomorrow was going to be the move.
