Guest: Yay! I'm so glad you love this story!

Long Live BRUCAS: Trust me, I'm getting there. ;)

Kathy: Girl I love how you commented on every chapter! I get the notifications on my phone right away and I was so excited each time I got one like "ohhhh just you wait!" and then a few minutes later I would get the next notification. To clarify, in this story, no one knows about hunting but Mary (and her friend Amanda and whoever else I decide to bring in). And since it's canon that Mary went on hunts after the boys were born, I figured I'd have some fun with it. Interesting take on Kate manipulating John; I hadn't thought of it like that...

On with the show!

"One weekend! I asked you to watch them for one weekend!"

Sam and Dean sat on the couch patiently waiting while Mary paced back and forth in the kitchen on the phone with John. She had been home for almost an hour and already she was greeted by a distressed Sam, a pissed-off Dean, and an absent husband, er, ex-husband as Mary had decided at that moment.

"What did you tell her?" Dean asked Sam. Sam sniffed and played with one of the legs on his stuffed turtle Timmy. Safe to say, he was still upset at Dean from earlier and now giving him the cold shoulder.

"Hey," Dean said gently, reaching over to tuck Sam's hair behind his ear. Sam immediately flinched and scooted farther away on the couch to where Dean could no longer reach him.

"Look," Dean continued, trying again, "I'm sorry about earlier. Okay? Dad sucks and I didn't mean to make you cry."

Sam ignored him and continued playing with his turtle. Dean fidgeted on his end of the couch. He'd give anything to hear the phone call between his parents right now. He had no idea what his dad was saying but he knew his mom wasn't buying any of it.

"I'm sorry Adam's sick but I don't care that he wanted you. Our boys needed you."

Dean groaned and leaned over to rest his elbows on his knees. He closed his eyes and started quietly humming to himself. After a minute, he heard Sam get off the couch and leave the room.

"Mom said we had to stay here," Dean told him. Sam continued to ignore him and kept walking out of the room.

"Sam." Dean warned. He got up to follow his brother, only to watch him go in the bathroom down the hall and quietly close the door behind him. Feeling silly, he walked back into the living room.

"Dean?" Mary called, meeting him there.

Dean braced himself for multiple things. His mom chewing him out for fighting with Sam, his mom telling him more bad news, his dad coming back over to make the situation worse, anything. He was surprised when instead Mary wrapped her arms around his upper back and hugged him tightly.

"Why didn't you call me?" she whispered. Feeling safe, Dean wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his face in her chest.

"I don't know," he mumbled.

"Listen," she said, taking a hand under his chin so he could look at her, "I really hope this doesn't happen again, but if it does, I need to know about it, okay? I don't like you guys here alone all night."

Dean nodded slowly.

"And I especially don't like getting phone calls from Sammy when he's upset like that."

"I know! I've tried saying I'm sorry but he just won't listen!" Dean said defensively.

"I'll handle Sammy. Just please promise me it won't happen again."

"It won't. I swear."

She let go of his face and Dean rested his head back on her chest.

"Do you want to talk about it?" she asked quietly. Dean shook his head. "Are you sure?" Dean nodded.

"Sam?" Mary asked, knocking on the bathroom door. "Are you okay in there?"

She didn't hear a response.

"I'm coming in, okay?"

She slowly opened the door and stuck her head in, only to find Sam sitting on the floor of the half-bath, resting up against one of the walls. She entered the bathroom, closed the door behind her, and sat on the floor across from him.

"Whatcha doing in here by yourself?" she asked jokingly.

"Didn't wanna be with Dean," Sam mumbled.

"He really hurt your feelings, didn't he?"

Sam nodded.

"Has he apologized?"

Sam nodded again.

"Did you forgive him?"

"No."

"Why not?"

Sam shrugged. Mary sighed.

"Listen, Dean went to a friend's. I was thinking we'd have a Mommy and Sammy night. What do you say?"

Sam's face lit up instantly and he started to get excited.

"Well, let's go decide what we're going to do," she said cheerfully, standing up off the bathroom floor. Sam jumped up and ran out of the bathroom, racing her to the phonebook so they could figure out what they were going to do that night.

"Come on Dean!"

"It'll be fun!"

"Yeah! Unless you're too scaaaared."

Dean was at a sleepover at his friend Tommy's house. He and a couple of neighborhood boys were trying to convince him to sneak out with them.

"Where would we even go?" he asked them.

"Who cares? We'll find something," Tommy said.

"Maybe I could just stay here and cover?"

"My parents are in bed for the night. We won't have to worry about them until breakfast tomorrow. They'll never know!"

"I don't know..."

"Never would have pegged you for a pussy, Winchester."

"Stop being an asshole, Josh!" Tommy snapped.

"I'll do it," Dean said.

"Look, Dean, if you really don't want to-"

"I said I'll do it, Tommy. I'm coming."

The rest of the boys quietly celebrated. Tommy rigged his bedroom window so it would stay open so they could climb out come back in later. Living in a one-story house, the boys wouldn't have to worry about attempting to sneak back in upstairs. They jumped on their bikes and rode down a dirt road that took them out of town where no one could find them. They soon came upon an old, abandoned barn.

"Looks like someone tried tearing it down," Dean pointed out, observing all the piles of debris and old building materials tossed to the side.

"Well, let's help them out!" Josh said. He picked up a rock and threw it at one of the barn windows, shattering it.

"Are you fucking insane!?" Dean asked.

"What? Like anyone is going to bust us."

The other boys started picking up rocks to throw at the barn. Dean anxiously threw a look over at Tommy.

"I'll do it if you will?"

Dean hesitated. Maybe this is what he needed to blow off steam. After all, he had plenty of it.

Tommy found what looked like a broken crowbar and handed it to Dean, who noticed the rest of the boys had found other tools and were now beating the shit out of this barn with them.

Dean closed his eyes, held his breath, and swung.
