AU: Thanks for the continuing support
Jeff stood up from his desk as his sons returned from their mission, "all cleared up?"
Scott nodded before sinking onto the sofa, "yes. Colonel Casey has taken it under her wings, so ours are folded, for now."
"Very poetic," Kayo smirked. "I hope the GDF find out who did this. Where are Virgil and Natasha?"
"Where do you think?" Gordon rested his arms behind him.
Natasha ran her fingers along the top of the piano, "this is new. It wasn't here the last time I was."
Virgil shrugged coming to stand beside her, "just something I wanted to move. It's not really new but this is."
Natasha moved aside as he pulled the stool out and lifted the fallboard uncovering the keys. He began to play and she smiled down at him watching his fingers waltzing across the blocks then she sat down on the edge of the bed, he continued to play but turned his head to look at her with a smile.
"I don't recognise this."
Virgil chuckled, "you wouldn't, it's a new composition."
"It's beautiful," she leaned forwards gazing at him. "What's it called?"
"Shhh," he smirked and pressed down harder as he reached the end of the piece. "Happy Anniversary."
"Isn't it a little early?"
"It can be for the whole month."
Natasha wiped a tear away happily and leapt up from the bed running over to the piano, "I love you." She pushed him down on the stool to kiss him and his lips parted under hers. "Thank you, sweetheart."
"I love you too," Virgil gazed up at her then sat up as she sat on the stool beside him. "So much," he added. "But what are we going to do about the fire?"
"Urrrg," she groaned. "I thought we were having fun tonight?"
"We'll be walked in on if we don't discuss the situation. And Casey will be checking in at some point."
"Oh alright then, but you owe me mister," she got up from the stool and he caught her hand. "What?"
Virgil smiled up at her and soon her lips were pressed against his again, "that's better." He whispered pressing kisses up her cheek to her forehead.
"You're being very affectionate all of a sudden," she giggled. "I'm here to help solve this fire mystery, I'm not going anywhere for a while. You can have me whenever you want me."
"Sounds wonderful," he smiled. "Okay," he sighed and got up. "Let's join the family."
Kayo looked up from the desk in the lounge, "finally, you two. We've made a discovery. Well, the GDF have."
"And that is?" Natasha asked.
"The cleanup crew found a bracelet left at the scene, it's all a matter of finding out who it belonged to."
"Any clues?" Virgil leaned back against the sofa crossing his leg over the other.
"Just one. Initials," Kayo dragged the hologram from the desk into the centre of the room. "S and P."
"That could be anyone," Gordon sighed. "Is it worth getting Penelope involved?"
Jeff shook his head, "leave this with the GDF for now, maybe Casey will find something in the records. A name which ties them together."
"SP," Natasha tapped her fingers on Virgil's knee. "I'll do some digging but this is a dead-end already. Tell Casey to go through the GDF records of criminals."
"Criminals?"
"Yes Mr Tracy, this felt like an attack on the restaurant. Perhaps there was someone in there with us who someone didn't like."
Jeff nodded, "leave that with me. Who feels like a cookout tonight?"
"FAB!" Alan leapt up.
"Does anything other than food grab your attention like that?"
"Not much," Alan grinned back at his father.
"A cookout sounds great," Scott kissed Kayo's hand and wrapped his arms around her.
The family sat out watching the sun go down and Scott reached for his beer bottle as Virgil turned the steaks over, "I hope Casey finds something. We haven't heard from her for hours."
Virgil sat down at the table beside Natasha wrapping his arms around her, "yeah, I hope so too."
Natasha nodded, "I just wish I knew why someone would have wanted to start a fire like that. Was it revenge?"
Jeff shook his head, "I'm afraid we won't know until the GDF dig something up."
Gordon munched on a burger, "are the steaks ready yet?"
"Oh you're done with your first cow, now you want a second?" Kayo teased.
"Ohh very funny Kayo."
Kayo laughed, "only messing with you."
Jeff chuckled, "alright guys that's enough, the steaks are done. Who wants one?"
Colonel Casey called in and her projection appeared above the picnic table, "sorry to be crashing the party, but I think we've found something."
Kayo put down her wine glass, "yes?"
Casey looked over at Natasha, "you may want to brace yourself, Miss Howard." She sighed, "I've found a low-risk criminal in our records called Sabrina Forbes. Her crimes weren't major, just a couple of robberies and fights but that's only part of it."
Scott nodded, "what's the major thing?" He looked up at John's hologram which had appeared when Casey's had.
"On a parole visit, a man came to see her in prison. He now works with us, he was never a bad man."
"Casey, tell us," Jeff ushered.
"The man was Blake Petrova."
"No, no I don't believe that," Natasha gasped.
"The P is Blake and the S is Sabrina. She was let out of jail a couple of years ago, and that's where the trail ends."
"Did she know that Blake found someone else, Tash?" Virgil asked Natasha who was still looking shocked.
"I don't know, I mean it's possible she found out. But to set fire to a restaurant your ex is in, would be pretty extreme."
"What's our next move?" Kayo crossed her arms, leaning on the table.
Natasha sighed, "I can talk to Blake, he needs to know about this." She stood up, "I'll be right back."
Virgil watched her go, "do you know where Sabrina is now Casey?"
"I'm afraid not, she was a low risk so we didn't keep tabs on her. I'm sorry, but it's over to you now International Rescue."
"Hi Blake," Natasha smiled as Blake's hologram appeared above the lounge table. "How have you been since the fire?"
"Very good. Candice told me over and over that she loved me afterwards, so that was a surprise."
"Yes, she was very impressed by your actions."
"Are you okay? You don't look happy."
Natasha sighed, "has Casey spoken to you yet?"
"No, why?"
"We think we've found out who started the fire. The cleanup crew found a bracelet at the scene."
"Really?"
"Yeah, and the initials on it were S and P."
Blake gasped, "shit."
"So you don't need to hear the next part."
"Sabrina."
Natasha nodded, "it's very possible. She could be trying to get you back for breaking up with her."
"Any idea where she is now?"
"Afraid not."
Blake hummed thoughtfully, "okay, leave this with me, I'll have a chat with the colonel."
"Alright. Good luck."
"Thanks, Fox."
Natasha smirked, "you've got it, Python." The hologram disappeared and she went back to the bbq.
"Well, Natasha?" Jeff smiled encouragingly.
"I'm leaving the next move to Blake, he's shocked but wants to help catch Sabrina. Casey will be in touch."
Scott nodded, "I don't like this side of the business, but if we can prevent something like this happening again, then I'm in."
"We're all in, son."
The next day, the family were all called out on missions leaving Jeff and Natasha on the island. Jeff invited her into his study and he called Colonel Casey who answered on the first ring.
"Jeff, I was about to call you."
"Great minds think alike. After you?"
"I have spoken with Commander Petrova and Doctor Donovan and they want to help catch Sabrina, but the plan may be a little against what International Rescue are used to."
Jeff frowned, "go on."
"Commander Petrova?" Colonel Casey moved aside.
"Yes ma'am. The only way to lure Sabrina out is with us, Candice and me. We need her to see us and attack again."
"But that's insane, Blake!"
"Natasha, it'll work, and this is how we're going to do it."
Blake and Candice stood together in an art gallery admiring the works on display, they walked to the next room arm in arm and Blake opened a channel with the GDF.
"We're in position, ma'am," Blake spoke into his collar.
"Good. We're watching your every move." Colonel Casey opened a channel with International Rescue, "status is green Jeff, thanks for agreeing to do this."
Jeff nodded as Scott paced the lounge casting a glance at him, "our pleasure Colonel, Thunderbird 2 and Shadow are in stealth mode watching."
"Understood. GDF out."
"I don't like this dad," Scott shook his head coming to a stop by the orange sofa once Casey's hologram had gone. "What if something goes wrong?"
"Are you losing confidence in Kayo, son?"
"Of course not, I trust her completely, but she does have a way of wanting to do things, unconventionally."
Jeff smiled, "try to relax Scooter, we've been over every angle of the building and plan, the only thing that can go wrong is if Sabrina doesn't show up."
Scott moved to the piano and began to play, "just tell me when it ends."
"Son, you have nothing to worry about." Jeff sighed turning to face the piano, "Chopin still helps huh?"
"It just removes the madness in my head."
In Thunderbird 2, Natasha brought up a holo-image of the building in front of them, "there's Blake and Candice there, but no sign of Sabrina."
"I'm ready for her," Kayo's hologram appeared with a camouflage symbol indicating she was in stealth mode. "Stick to the plan guys, and Virgil, do not come out of stealth mode until I say to do so."
"You've got it."
Sabrina tied her hair up and lifted her wrist with a sigh at the missing bracelet then took out a mirror. She read the text again from Blake telling her that he was going to the museum with Candice and to meet her there, and since had seen him enter with her. She ran a scan of her own showing her that she was the only one around minus security guards inside the building. The plan was simple; Another little fire and she would go in to save Blake leaving Candice inside. Little to her knowledge, was another plan had been hitched against her. Sabrina placed the mirror down onto the ground making sure it caught the light of the sun and waited, she got out her phone and hacked into the door mechanisms inside the museum checking again where Blake and Candice were with a smirk and smoke appeared.
"Burn in hell," she smiled and walked into the building, unaware of the fake workers watching her move past, her plan went off smoothly and the upstairs gallery was soon ablaze but she continued to walk casually through the gallery towards the room where Blake and Candice were standing, "you asked, I came."
Blake spun on his heel, "Sabbi."
"Hello Blake, traded me in for a new model huh?"
Candice narrowed her eyes as she answered, "pleased to meet you."
Sabrina ignored her, "don't I even get a kiss on the cheek?"
Blake squeezed Candice's hand then let go to walk over to Sabrina, he missed the evil gleam in her eye and before he could act a door came down separating him from Candice, "Candice!"
"We better get moving Blakey, this room is about to get hot."
Blake pressed a button on his watch telling the International Rescue operatives outside that the mission had gone wrong, "you've set this place on fire! What the hell are you doing?"
Sabrina's smile changed to a grimace, "you broke up with me whilst I was still in prison and you got with her before I came out. What does it look like I'm doing? I'm giving you a second chance!"
Kayo emerged from her stealth camouflage, "the mission has changed. Casey, get your team out of there, the building is on fire. Virgil, send Gordon and Natasha out in the pods and get Candice out."
"FAB Kayo," Virgil acknowledged, Natasha and Gordon's replies followed. "Gordon, get to the entrance and Natasha go round to the loading entrance. If we can open the doors, the fire can vent through."
"No problem Virgil," Gordon smiled and winked at Natasha.
Kayo nodded, "I'll be at the front waiting for Sabrina to come out."
Blake struggled in Sabrina's hold, "if you think you're going to get out of here without being arrested, think again. There's a separate team waiting for you outside."
"Then I guess we'll have to go out another way won't we?"
"You've lit the building on fire. How do you suppose we do that?"
Sabrina shoved her foot onto the call button of the lift, "ah the things not to do in a fire."
Candice coughed as she slammed her fists against the fire door, "help me please! Someone!? Please!?"
Virgil ran a scan of the building and found Candice's life signal, "got her." He swung Thunderbird 2 round and the module lifted up above the ship exposing the speakers used for controlling the flames which were now licking the outside walls, suddenly his eyes were drawn to the roof where two figures appeared, "Kayo, on the roof! I think Sabrina is trying to make her escape with Blake."
"Stop them, I'm on my way."
"I can't, Candice is trapped inside and these flames are getting worse."
Kayo cursed, "FAB. Scrambling Shadow now."
"Do you need Gordon?"
"No, leave him and Nat in their current jobs, I can handle this."
"I can scramble Thunderbird 1?" Scott suggested.
"Stay put Scott, you won't make it in time."
"FAB Kayo."
"FAB. Good luck," Virgil bit his lip and turned his attention back on activating the sound waves, they blasted out hitting the building square on and the flames retreated giving Virgil a window to freeze the wall separating him from Candice, he suited up into his fireproof uniform and lowered himself down on the platform. "3, 2, 1," he launched himself off the platform and smashed through the wall relieved the gallery had been fake for the setup and heard Candice scream. "It's okay Candice, it's me, Virgil Tracy."
Candice held her heart, "what's going on Virgil? You said the plan was in hand."
"We'll talk outside, this building is on fire. Hold on to me, tight."
Candice nodded and wrapped her arm around his shoulders as he held her tightly in one arm whilst firing his grapple back to the platform, "no. Are you jumping?"
"Don't let go, I mean that. Do not," he smirked and leapt from the building wincing when Candice yelped next to his ear. "Okay, you can let go, we're on the platform."
"That, was not fun," she smiled as he shrugged. "Thank you. Now tell me what's happened."
Sabrina grinned at the GDF flier in the distance and Shadow approaching, then with no hesitation, she dragged Blake to the edge of the roof, "come any closer, and I push him."
Kayo snarled, "don't you dare."
"If I can't have him, no one can."
Gordon ran round to the side of the building after successfully getting the front of house GDF guards out and the GDF trucks pulled up to begin extinguishing the fire, "Virgil, what's going on?"
"Sabrina is in charge of this operation, she's threatening to push Blake off the building."
Candice bit her nails, "do something, this wasn't the plan."
Natasha looked up at the roof from her pod vehicle parked away from the building and whispered to herself, "Blake, be careful."
"I loved you Sabrina, but you are just showing how jealousy can corrupt someone."
"Don't try to sweet-talk your way out of this."
"What do you want then, me to take you back?"
Sabrina raised an eyebrow, "no."
"Then what? The fire has failed, the building was a fake too."
"I just wanted to see you, and show you what you missed."
Kayo rolled her eyes and Scott's hologram made a retch expression, "right?"
Virgil raised an eyebrow at Candice who shook her head, "a funny way to show love."
Blake sighed, "it wasn't a professional way to break up with you and I'm sorry about that, but setting a restaurant on fire with the intent to kill my new girlfriend plus a bunch of innocent victims is really low Sabbi, surely you can see that?"
"Stop it."
"And then you intentionally set another building on fire to do the same thing."
Sabrina sighed, "I just missed you."
Kayo frowned, "Colonel, stand by. I think we'll be able to grab her."
"Understood Kayo, standing by."
Blake sighed and pulled Sabrina into a kiss, Candice watched disgusted but Kayo was quick to act and before Sabrina had even begun kissing Blake back found herself caught in Kayo's arms instead, "and now you're going to jail." He stepped back with a frown.
"And you can have your bracelet back," Kayo smiled, "I have it on me."
"Get off me!"
Kayo smiled as the GDF flier's ramp rested on the roof and Colonel Casey walked over, "Colonel, do you have space in your prison for this one?"
"Absolutely. Sorry Miss Forbes, but your sentence won't be as short this time."
"You're better than her Blake," Sabrina spat angrily.
Thunderbird 2 hovered above the roof and the platform came down, stood on it was Candice, she hopped off and strode angrily forwards to Sabrina.
"This is for almost killing me, twice," she slapped her, "I don't care about ex-girlfriends, they've never bothered me, but you, you are something else."
Blake wrapped his arms around her, "goodbye again Sabrina, and this time, it really is over. Take her away, Colonel Casey."
Sabrina burst into tears as she was led away and looked back over her shoulder, "Blake, please? I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
Natasha chuckled looking out of her pod's window up at the roof, "such drama."
"I'm just glad everyone's okay," Virgil replied smiling at Candice.
"Same here. Fancy a meal out this weekend? I promise I don't have a psycho boyfriend stalking me."
Virgil laughed out loud as he swung Thunderbird 2 round to land ready for Gordon's pickup, "sounds great Nat."
