"So, we have a question," Vic said as Maya and Carina walked back over to the rest of the group.

"Cosa?" Carina said as they both sat down, Maya's hand instantly going to Carina's thigh.

"So, we know where you met all of us," Travis said, "But how did you two meet each other? Was it at the hospital or something? And how did none of us know?"

"It wasn't at the hospital," Maya said, looking at Carina, "I can tell them?"

"Si," Carina said, relaxing back a little bit as Maya took over.

Dean, Jack, Robert, and Ben were all playing darts, but Vic, Andy, and Travis all sat there expectantly.

"So, we actually met here," Maya said, smiling at Carina a little bit, "Right over there at the bar."

"When?" Travis asked.

"The day of the camping trip," Maya said, "Carina saw me when I brought the nose into the hospital."

"And I thought I needed to know who that beautiful blonde woman was," Carina said, earning her a smiled from her girlfriend.

"Shut up," Maya said, rolling her eyes.

"It's true," Carina said, "I actually almost missed an important piece of information about my patient because I was so distracted by how beautiful and mysterious she was."

Maya smiled, leaning over and kissing Carina gently on the lips, earning groans from her team.

"So anyway, I came here to drink that night," Maya said, almost adding that she had been feeling extremely depressed and was planning to drink herself into the floor to just forget how terrible the camping trip specifically and her captaincy in general but decided her team didn't need to know that.

Also, she wasn't totally ready to tell Carina that that was how she was feeling that night because that was a bit too vulnerable for her.

"And I was supposed to be getting a drink with a friend," Carina said, earning her a look from her girlfriend, "But they canceled last minute after they got pulled into a surgery so I almost didn't come, but then I remembered I was out of wine at home so I came alone."

"You ran out of wine?" Maya said, jaw dropping.

"Si," Carina nodded, laughing, "I was so busy and I hadn't been to the store in so long so I had none in the house."

"Wow," Maya said, looking at her friends, "She drinks so much wine so I am shocked she ever runs out."

"That makes me sound like an alcoholic," Carina said, laughing a little, "Which I am not."

"No," Maya said, backtracking, "No, not at all. You are very responsible with your drinking. You just like your wine and you are always buying good wines and introducing me to wines I didn't know existed and…" "

Calmati, Bella," Carina said, taking Maya's hand in her own, "I was just joking. Keep telling the story."

"Ok," Maya said, taking a deep breath as all her friends smiled, "Sorry. So, I was here to grab a drink after the day we had had, and I sat down at the bar alone, just planning on sitting at the bar and watch whatever was on TV, maybe the Seahawks or something."

Andy bit her lip, looking down at the floor, remembering this night as well. She and Jack were both so pissed at Maya at the time and had completely ignored her when she walked in, Andy going so far as to turn her back when she saw her.

"So, I was sitting there, minding my own business, when she walked over to the bar and sat down next to me and ordered a glass of white wine," Maya continued, not looking at Andy, "And I thought maybe she was just going to grab something and then go sit at a table or something, but no. She stayed put. I had glanced at her when she walked in and noticed how stunning she was so I was sitting there trying not to stare at her."

"You thought I was stunning?" Carina said, smiling.

"How could I not?" Maya replied, "Have you seen you?"

"This is a little bit gross," Vic said, shaking her head as she took a swig of beer.

"Oh, shut up," Travis said, "You're just upset Jackson isn't your hot doctor lover anymore."

"Anyway," Maya continued, "She told me I looked familiar and I told her I drink here a lot. Then she asked if I had been at the hospital earlier and I explained I was bringing the nose."

"Which everyone at the hospital had been talking about all day," Carina interjected, "And I realized that that was where I knew her from. Well, that and the fact that she had distracted me from my patient."

"Yeah," Maya nodded, "And I told her I was drinking alone because after the camping trip, I was exhausted and just wanted to have a few drinks and then go to bed. But she asked if I was sure, and she was offering to buy me drinks so I caved and told her the story about the camping trip which evolved into stories about firefighting and then running and she told me stories about her life and her job and growing up in Italy. I think we were here until last call."

"Si," Carina nodded, "It was light out when we left the bar."

"And we were both exhausted because you had worked all day and I had been camping," Maya nodded, "But we didn't want to leave so we went to this little diner and got some breakfast."

"And then my brother called and needed me to go help him with something," Carina nodded.

"That's right," Maya said, "So we exchanged numbers and I told you I would text you."

"And before I even got to Andrea, you had texted me and told me you had a great time and that you knew this great place to get smoothies near the sound and that we should meet up there sometime and talk more."

"Wait, so you two didn't end up in bed together that night?" Vic said, eyes wide, "But what about self-care Wednesdays?"

"Cosa?" Carina said, looking at Maya.

"Nothing," Maya said, feeling her cheeks turn red.

"We pretty much always have Wednesdays off because of our rotation at the station," Andy said, "And someone used to tell us the best form of self-care was a one-night stand on Wednesdays."

"You guys make me sound like a slut," Maya said, shirking back a little, "And besides, I met Carina on a Saturday."

"You are not a slut, Bella," Carina said, kissing her cheek, "There is nothing wrong with one-night stands so long as you are safe. An orgasm or two is a very good form of self-care. Besides, I think by Wednesday, we were doing a lot more than self-care."

Maya blushed even harder as her friends all laughed.

"So, this is the Carina who helped deliver Pru?" Andy said, "The one who told JJ to…you know…to help get the baby out?"

"To masturbate?" Carina said, taking a sip of her wine, "Si. It is a very good way to release oxytocin. I have done multiple studies on it."

"What kind of doctor are you?" Travis asked, giving her a look.

"I am an OB," Carina shrugged, "But I study the female orgasm and how it relates to pain and pleasure. They are quite fascinating studies."

"Yeah, they really are," Maya said, mesmerized by her girlfriend for a second only to slam her hand over her mouth in embarrassment, "I mean…she had told me…um…"

"Oh, come on," Travis said, "I am gay and even I know you two have to be having an amazing time in bed."

Maya turned bright red, burying her face in Carina's shoulder.

"Come on Bella," Carina said, rubbing her back a little, "There is nothing to be embarrassed of."

Maya took a deep breath before picking her head back up again, looking at her friends.

"So, when you went on vacation…" Vic said, looking between the two of them.

"We went together," Maya nodded, smiling as she thought about the trip.

"Wow," Andy said, "You must be magic if you convinced this one to take a break and go on vacation."

"It was her idea actually," Carina shrugged, sipping on her wine, "But it was incredible."

The conversations shifted a little after that, Vic going to play darts, Ben coming over to talk to Carina about stuff at the hospital, and Travis going to talk to Emmett who had just joined them. Andy walked over to Maya, sitting down next to her.

"You two seem really good together," Andy said, smiling at her friend, "And you seem really happy."

"I am," Maya nodded, looking down at her hands where she was peeling the label off her beer bottle, "She is great."

Andy looked like she wanted to say something, but at that moment, Jack called her over, the Latina getting up and going to him.

Maya sat there next to Carina, half listening to her conversation with Ben about the latest hospital drama, looking around at her team and feeling like, for the first time in months, that maybe she was a part of this team again. She smiled as Carina laughed at something Ben said, loving that her girlfriend was getting along so well with her team and feeling at peace about everything for the first time in a long time.
