In the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Prompt: Gratitude
Sakura was grateful for her family...
Sakura was grateful for her father. He was a single parent working a full-time job and Sakura knew it wasn't easy for him. He worked hard to provide for them, for her and for Touya. He did his best to take care of them, to help them in whatever way he could. He tried to be there for them as much as he possibly could, despite his busy schedule, despite having lost the love of his life. He was the one who taught them to be kind, to be grateful, to be a good person, and Sakura would never forget the life lessons that her father had taught her over the years.
Sakura was grateful for her mom. Even though Nadeshiko passed away when Sakura was very little and she didn't have the chance to get to know her mother, Sakura was grateful that her mom had taken care of her and loved her. Even after she had passed, Nadeshiko was still watching over her, over them all. However, Sakura wished she could talk to her, to hear her voice because she couldn't even remember how she sounded like. Maybe one day, she would have the chance to...
Sakura was grateful for her brother. Even though she and Touya often fought, at the end of the day, they were family. Even though Touya often called her a monster, Sakura knew that he cared for her, just as much as she cared for him. Things weren't easy growing up. They didn't have a mom and their father was away a lot. Touya basically had to raise himself and her. Sakura also knew that losing their mother was hard on him. She was too young to understand it back then, but he wasn't. He understood enough and he grieved for their mom in the way that she never did. Touya was always there for her. When Sakura was scared or when she had a nightmare and their father wasn't home, Touya would sit with her and read her a bedtime story. He thought she didn't remember, but she did, and sh would cherish those memories for as long as she lived.
Sakura was grateful for her friends...
Sakura was grateful for Tomoyo. They practically grew up together and Tomoyo had been taking care of her since they were young. When Tomoyo found out about Sakura's magic, she kept it to herself to protect her friend. Tomoyo had always been there for her, she was practically family, a sister that Sakura never had. Whenever Sakura got into trouble, of any kind, she knew she could count on Tomoyo to be there with her, for her. They were best friends and no matter what happened, they would always have each other's back.
Sakura was grateful for Syaoran. They didn't start off well, with him trying to upstage her in capturing the cards. But over the years, their friendship grew and they fought together side by side. He was a great magician, and a greater friend and Sakura would always be grateful for that.
Sakura was grateful for her friends, Naoko, Rika, Chiharu, and Yamazaki. They all had known each other since Elementary and had been good friends all along. While they didn't know about magic, they had proven to be good friends. They cheered her up when she was sad and they celebrated their success together.
Sakura was grateful for her magic...
Sakura was grateful for her guardians. Kero and Yue were like family to her. They took care of her, helped her, protected her, and they had done so much more for her. Kero had been with her since the beginning and while things were pretty awkward with Yue at first, they had gotten much closer over the years. Other than being her guardians, Yue had also proven to be a good friend, through Yukito. Sakura was grateful that she got to experience what she did when it came to Yukito. Back then, it was painful, but now, she realized that what happened had helped her to understand her feelings better and helped her grow. She was grateful about what happened because now, Touya and Yukito were together and she could see that her brother was happy.
Sakura was grateful for her cards. They were more than just magic to her. They had helped her over the years and as she got to know them more, she had grown to love them. They were a part of her and she couldn't imagine her life without them. While she could only talk to Mirror, she cared about every single one of them and she made sure to tell them that regularly.
Sakura was grateful for Clow and Eriol. Clow had created the cards a long time ago and had arranged for her to be where she was, who she was today. Not only that, Eriol had helped her to change her cards, to make them completely hers and he had helped her to be a better and stronger magician. He taught her a lot about her cards, about her magic, and about herself. On top of that, he had proven to be such a great friend for her and she knew she could always count on him.
All in all, Sakura was grateful for her life, for the people around her, and for the things that she had because she was who she was because of them.
