This is the finale of the 35th Story Special. Last time, MacGyver and company arrived back at the Temple just as the emergency door shut. Thankfully, Mac saw what was in the area and developed a plan, which we still haven't seen the full extent of. Meanwhile, those trapped on the inside got access to the audio of the security system, and are going to try and stop the enemy within as best they can while waiting for backup to arrive. So, how's all this going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our story resumes back outside where MacGyver and his team are working on his strange plan, namely by trying to shave off parts of the iron lance, when Cynder arrives with a pair of burlap sacks.)

Cynder: Here's the stuff you needed. You have no idea how hard it was to find saltpeter at this time of day.

MacGyver: (Opens the bags, revealing fine powdered saltpeter and sulfur) This'll be perfect. Now to just blend with the charcoal Flame made from that moss and hope I've got the ratios right.

(Just as MacGyver starts mixing chemicals, Jack's phone starts ringing, revealing Matty's calling in, which Jack picks up, putting her on video call)

Jack: In the middle of something, Matty.

Matty: Be that as it may, I need an update as to what's going on in there.

MacGyver: The Assassin set a trap and had his followers infiltrate the Temple's staff. Right now they've got complete control of the building and the rest of the team is trapped inside.

Matty: Please tell me you're working on some kind of contraption to get your asses in there.

MacGyver: (Checks his mixture) I've got the chemical mixture, just hoping the ratios are right.

Matty: (Seeing the powder) You've got to be kidding me. You're making your own gunpowder?

MacGyver: The plan falls apart without it.

Matty: Why don't you just use the gunpowder in your bullets?

MacGyver: That would leave us without ammunition in a firefight.

Spyro: Gunpowder? What on...? (Suddenly sees it all put together) Now I see what this is! You're building a cannon!

MacGyver (Ripping a vine from a nearby mushroom stalk) Well, depending on whether we get this right, we're either building a cannon, a pipe bomb, or nothing at all. It all depends on the ratios in the homemade black powder.

Jack: Then for everyone's sake, I hope you got this right.

MacGyver: Matty, we'll have to call you back. This is going to be explosive either way.

Matty: Let's hope for everyone's sake it does.

MacGyver: (Examining the vine) This should work. (To Hunter) How long will it take this vine to burn?

Hunter: Probably 15 seconds, maybe 20 at most?

MacGyver: Should work as a fuse then. We need to start pouring the black powder, then block the end with that stone.

(And thus they do so, Flame and Hunter loading the end of the iron lance with homemade gunpowder, while Spyro and Cynder shove the heavy stone into the end of the barrel, revealing it just barely fits into the hole, and Jack and MacGyver steady the handle of the lance onto what could easily be called the stump of a giant mushroom.)

Cynder: I'm not sure about this one.

MacGyver: Trust me, neither am I.

Spyro: You're not exactly helping, MacGyver.

MacGyver: Right now, it's the only entry plan we've got, so let's use it. And retreat to a safe distance.

Flame: Then how're we supposed to light it?

Hunter: (Drawing an arrow) Set one of my arrows alight, and I'll use it.

Jack: Sounds good to me.

MacGyver: Then let's do it.

(With that, the group retreats to behind a giant mushroom. Once everyone's secured, Flame lights the end of the arrow Hunter drew, which the skilled archer quickly sets in his bow and launches, aiming directly at the green vine MacGyver set up for a fuse, catching it alight. Precisely 17 seconds later, the fuse burns through to the homemade gunpowder, and miraculously it works, the resulting explosion causing the stone in the makeshift barrel to be launched forward and break a sizeable hole in the stone security door, and the placement of the thing somehow causes the rest of the door to come crumbling down around it, as well as destroying the homemade cannon in the process.)

Cynder: By the Ancestors, it actually worked!

Spyro: Not to mention probably drew the attention of every enemy agent in the place.

Jack: (Drawing his gun) Sounds good to me.

MacGyver: Then let's get moving.

(And with that, MacGyver and his team proceed through the hole, preparing to face whatever awaits them as our tale ends for today)

This concludes the 35th Story Special. Expect the actual 35th Story to go up pretty soon. Now I'll give you this one, this little MacGyverism seems absolutely insane and almost definitely certain to backfire. But let's face it, this wouldn't be the first time MacGyver did something impossible. Say for example that time he made an Ultralight Aircraft out of mostly Bamboo. The idea is they're creative, not necessarily plausible. But regardless, they got in. So, what awaits within the Temple? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
