Transformers War for Cybertron: Joining the War.

Chapter 10: One Shall Stand...

(Author's notes: In the final battle against Trypticon, Corvowing will be quietly putting his foreknowledge of Trypticon's weaknesses to good use by simply targeting them with his previously revealed ability to summon twelve extra arms with different guns, cannons and missile launchers on hand in case he needs to pummel someone like Trypticon into guacamole.

(Outskirts of Iacon, third person POV...)

Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Ironhide come to a stop and transform to robot mode.

They see Trypticon coming into the surface like a meteorite as Bumblebee exclaims, "Look! There it is!"

Trypticon crashes, causing a big amount of damage to the metal grounds.

Optimus contacts Silverbolt and says, "Silverbolt, this is Optimus! We've pinpointed the crash site and we are moving in for a visual. I want you and your army of Aerialbots on standby in case there's any trouble."

Silverbolt replies, "Roger that, Optimus. We're blasting off to your location, but it'll take us some time to reach you, Bumblebee and Ironhide."

Ironhide asks, "Do you really think that hunk of junk could survive a crash from orbit, Silverbolt?"

Silverbolt answers, "Trypticon's as tough as they come, and he's three times bigger and stronger than Omega Supreme. If he is still alive, your weapons won't do much damage to his armor. You'll have better fortune targeting his weapons systems and his power cores as long as they're overheating, as Corvowing has just informed me."

Optimus replies back, "Thanks for the tip, Silverbolt. We'll be careful."

The three Autobots follow the road until they come across an Energon battery blocking the way.

Ironhide remarks, "This must be the place."

Bumblebee asks, "Really? What was your first clue, Ironhide – the total devastation?"

Ironhide blasts the Energon battery and the small explosion creates a clear path to the crash site.

Upon approaching the crash site, Trypticon's tail bursts out of the ground!

Ironhide asks bewilderedly, "What-? Is that a TAIL?"

As Trypticon smashes the ground, thereby causing the three Autobots to fall onto a platform below, Optimus calls out on the commlink, "Silverbolt! We've located Trypticon! Uploading coordinates now!"

As the three Autobots revert to robot mode, Trypticon asks, "You thought you could destroy ME? You thought you could destroy TRYPTICON? Ha! Pathetic!"

Bumblebee exclaims, "He's just laughing at us!"

Trypticon snarls, "Abandon hope, vermin! Your death approaches!"

Ironhide states, "You heard Silverbolt; his armor's too tough!"

Optimus replies, "Trypticon can't be invincible. We're overlooking something!"

After a few seconds of Trypticon firing his shoulder cannons, they start to overheat, something Ironhide takes notice of.

Ironhide points out, "Look! I think his shoulder cannons are overheating! If we can cause them to overload, it might destroy them!"

Optimus calls out, "Ironhide's right! We've got to figure out how to overload those cannons!"

Optimus activates a console that turns on a conveyor belt of Energon batteries.

Upon shooting them while they got close enough to Trypticon's shoulder cannons and the Energon batteries exploded, Optimus and his crew discovered that shooting Energon batteries at Trypticon's shoulder cannons would destroy them.

After Trypticon's right shoulder cannon goes boom, Trypticon tries to hit Optimus with his tail, only to miss as Optimus calls out, "Our strategy's working!"

Trypticon bellows, "I'll grind you all to DUST!"

Optimus and Ironhide repeat the same process on Trypticon's left shoulder cannon, and the remaining shoulder cannon goes boom.

Trypticon slams his tail on the bridge in front of him as he snarls, "You'll pay for that, you wretched VERMIN!"

Ironhide remarks casually, "I think we just made him angry."

Silverbolt calls out, "The cavalry has arrived! Air Raid, heal Prime and the others! The rest of us will give you cover fire!"

As Air Raid gets himself ready, the remaining Aerialbots – the others had gone back to Iacon to recharge – fire at Trypticon's back plate.

Air Raid transforms to robot mode and deploys Overshields as he says, "Deploying healing charges! Just be near them when they go off!"

Optimus calls out, "Air Raid, look out!"

Air Raid moves out of the way just as Trypticon's fist was about to make contact.

The Aerialbots initiate a tactical retreat to avoid being targeted by Trypticon while Corvowing Prime joins Optimus and his away team.

Optimus calls out, "Autobots! Trypticon is about to attack! Be ready for anything!"

Trypticon sneers, "You cannot escape from me! Now DIE!"

While avoiding Trypticon's tail and mouth laser missiles, Corvowing notices Trypticon's chest coils opening due to heat buildup.

Corvowing summons his twelve extra arms again and shoots his guns at the coils in unison, completely destroying them.

Trypticon roars in anger and pain as his tail destroys the platform and takes the battlefield to another platform below... just above an Energon river.

Trypticon snarls again, "You are fools! I cannot be defeated! WITNESS MY TRUE POWER!"

Bumblebee complains, "We've barely even slowed him down!"

After a few seconds of shooting Trypticon and taking out the Spider-Bots he summons, Bumblebee complains again, "My weapons aren't hurting him at all!"

Optimus replies, "Keep your optics open! He has to have some kind of weakness!"

Ironhide notices the auxiliary power cores on Trypticon's back and calls out, "Those power cores on his back look vulnerable!"

Corvowing shoots out the power cores with his numerous guns.

As Trypticon slips, he snarls, "I will make you SUFFER for this, Autobots!"

Trypticon smashes the ground without hitting anyone as he falls off the platform.

Optimus observes from a good distance from the hole and says, "Thank Primus! It worked!"

Suddenly, Trypticon emerges sharply from the hole, forcing Optimus to charge up his axe.

Trypticon growls one last time, "You haven't defeated me, Autobots!"

Optimus sneers in response, "You've lost, Trypticon!

Optimus slams his axe down on the ground just as Trypticon's mouth plate is about to make contact, the Energon from the weapon hurting Trypticon enough to send him tumbling into the Energon river below.

Optimus calls out, "Autobots, transform and roll out!"

(Many hours later, in Iacon...)

As everyone gathers around to watch the first Autobot galactic transports – the real ones – leave Cybertron, Ratchet remarks, "You did it, Prime!"

Optimus replies, "WE did it, Ratchet. All of us. Many brothers were lost throughout this war, but thanks to our combined efforts, many more will live to find a new home elsewhere."

Bumblebee points out, "Optimus, Megatron's still out there."

Optimus replies, "And as long as we remain here, we shall all resist him. But, in time, our turn will come to leave Cybertron as well... Corvowing Prime has commissioned a new galactic transport for us... an Ark, in which we shall make our journey through the stars. No matter where we go, Cybertron will be with us."
