Narrator: As history is revisited, so comes a new moon. Here we are at the Wyvern Moon. From on high, flocks of wyverns roar in chorus and soar the pristine skies, heading south for the winter. Me-Hador's children lend their hands to winter preparations by gathering firewood and catching fish from the rivers' cool waters. Yet all the while their gazes are turned skyward, drawn to the magnificent sight above.
Logan: So, another mock battle, eh? Well, I do hope that this time, I can win.
Kandan: Ha, it seems we both want to pay our sister back for her victory.
Oona: Yeah, dream on. This battle is a 3-way matchup held every year on this moon, and I intend on growing my winning streak.
Aiden: Yeah, just remember you have us. And losing, to me, is not fun.
Alvin: That's why you'll be the one doing it!
Dean: That honor shall be yours, alright.
(As Kandan sets up, Chrominos materializes)
Chrominos: Hmph. This monastery is more dangerous than I expected. It's likely that our foes have infiltrated the ranks of the teachers... And there may be others of questionable character about as well! If you ask me, there is something amiss about that old man...Rowley. One can guess from the memories of your cousin that he had a say in Mystik's kidnapping ploy.
Monique: What do you say, Cammy? Shall we meet up in the library later to... Oh! Hello, Mr. Kandan!
Camilla: Do you need something? I'm a little busy at the moment.
Monique: Sorry, Mr. Kandan! I've got a lot of questions to ask Cammy here. Since I couldn't graduate last year, I really want to make sure I can do so this year.
Kenneth: The Battle of the Eagle and Lion... Its name comes from the war in which the Kingdom won its independence from the Empire. It's imperative that we fight our best. We must live up to the legacy of the King of Lions.
Oona: And we will win, Kenny.
Braddock: Going all the way to the Empire for a mock battle? This is serious business. And there's a reward to be had as well. I'd really like to win this thing. Everyone else seems to be raring to go too. We're all looking to you to guide us, Logan.
Logan: And I will.
(After Logan scores big at the fishing tournament, he, his siblings, and his cousins all prepare for the big day. Training hard with weapons, and Relics, they all prepare their friends for battle. Once the day arrives...)
Randall: Gronder Field is in the Empire. It's actually part of my family's territory - House Bergliez. It is the largest field in all of Me-Hador. The grain it produces sustains the whole Empire. Wait... I sure hope we don't destroy all that grain.
Daniel: It is considered the most suitable place for a large-scale battle.
Camilla: Kandan, if it were up to you, how would you approach this battle?
Kandan: I would fight them head-on.
Camilla: That sounds like a certain someone we both know. But as you wish. We'll use whatever strategy you think is best. If the Talon Clan bands together, we won't lose.
Daniel: Our strength is superior. So, if we do lose, it would be on your shoulders, Kandan.
Jason If you're not confident you can do this, just sit back and leave it to me.
Daniel(chuckles): The most you will do is make things worse. You'll just get in Lady Camilla's way.
Randall: Are you two about to fight? Haha! Count me in! Wait, no. I think we all need to calm down.
Ronnie: We have no lack of opponents. I am ready to go hunting for our enemies!
Elena: Hunting isn't exactly... Well, I guess they're pretty similar, actually.
Marnie: I'm just gonna hide in the fort and cheer everyone on. There, um, is a fort, right?
Richard: Sure, but it's deep in enemy territory. How kind of you to offer to cut through for us.
Marnie: What?! No! That's not what I meant! Ugh, good work Marnie...
Richard: This will be your first battle, won't it, Rhonda? You don't seem nervous at all.
Rhonda: Haha, I shall give it my all!
Camilla: Our battle will begin shortly. The flag of the Talon Clan will soon grace Gronder Field!
(Everyone spreads out into the battlefield)
Kenneth: The Battle of the Eagle and Lion is set to begin at long last. Everyone, show off the results of your dedicated training!
Braddock: Remember, we're not just fighting for honor. There's a prize at stake!
Camilla: It's almost time to begin. Steel yourselves, everyone.
(In a vast field. Irma and Sampson stand on a cliff above the field as trumpets begin to play. Kenneth advances from between soldiers in armor and lifts his lance to point towards the other classes.)
Kenneth: You all should know... I am not about to go easy on you today.
(Braddock walks forward from among soldiers in yellow, resting his bow on his shoulder.)
Braddock: As long as we can pull off the win, it doesn't matter how.
(Camilla stands before soldiers in red, flicking her hair over her shoulder as she speaks.)
Camilla: Our victory must be absolute...no matter what it may take.
(The soldiers in red draw their swords. Kandan raises the Sword of the Creator and looks up towards the cliff. Logan and Oona do the same.)
Sean: You must be feeling pretty lonely up here Tyson, even with us here.
Tyson: I know. But I just don't feel the need to fight, because I have a prize in mind for myself.
Timonthy: You seek the Amber Scythe, don't you? Well, as long as my cousin has your brother backing him up, he'll do fine.
Gianna: Don't patronize your own cousin just yet Timmy, Oona has her own Crystal Relic.
Marah: Hey, check it out.
(Kandan, Aiden, and the others meet up in the middle of the field, with everyone watching in interest)
Kandan: Hey, no matter what happens afterward or on this very field, we fight fair.
Oona: Agreed.
Logan: My thoughts exactly.
Sampson: It is time.
Camilla: Forward! now!
(The Talon warriors surge forward, yelling. Kenneth's lance is lifted into the air. He lowers it and points it forward.)
Kenneth: For honor!
(The Claw warriors run towards the enemy, yelling. Braddock, on the other hand, doesn't need words as he lifts his arm and his warriors advance. Irma and Sampson stand in silence and watch as the students begin the battle, both unaware that Mystik is watching too.)
Mystik: The fates say Kandan will surpass his family here, even with the Sword on his side. Let's see if they're right, shall we?
(Kandan indeed surpasses his siblings and cousins as he moves toward Donovan at the ballista)
Braddock: Well, this just got interesting. The Talon and Claw Clans are fighting... Maybe we can sneak right past them.
Eric(noticing that Kandan took care of Donovan): A stronghold for me to seize? Splendid!
Braddock: There goes Eric, acting on his own... Guess we've got no choice but to capture the central hill and cover him!
(Realizing what Kandan is thinking, Aiden and Camilla follow by taking down Jordan, Ricky, and Katie. As Kandan finishes Eric, Camilla faces Braddock)
Braddock: Hey Princess! Heads up! There's a rat right by your Imperial feet...
Camilla: BAH! I—Huh. How dare you make a fool of me. You will not rile me with such childish tactics.
Braddock: Ah, so the sheer terror in your eyes was... something else entirely. My mistake. Anyway, it was only a joke.
Camilla: You really hope to unsettle me with childish jokes? It won't work. You must stand and fight!
(Now, Kandan and Aiden take on Alvin, Luke, Zane, Nora, and Katie)
Kenneth: So, it is time to cross blades... I never imagined such a day would come to pass.
Camilla: If the Empire and the Kingdom go to war, we'll be able to fight as much as we please.
Kenneth: I am sorry, but that is not something to joke about. The thought of fighting you is troubling at best.
Camilla: In that case, I wonder when you'll be able to stomach facing me in battle... Do you need a few moments?
(Soon enough, the kids of Janus find themselves as the last ones standing)
Oona: You know what, bro? After I cut you down, another victory is as good as mine!
Kandan: As if.
Alvin: You sure about this?
Aiden: Real sure.
Logan: Sorry bro, but if anyone's scoring victory...
Dean: It's gonna be us!
Kandan: Yeah, not gonna happen!
Sampson: That is the end of this year's Battle of the Eagle and Lion! And the winners are... The Talon Clan!
Camilla: Thank you for your hard work, everyone! I daresay that prize is as good as ours.
Kenneth: Camilla. Kandan. That was a spectacular battle. You both fought exceptionally well.
Braddock: Complete and utter defeat... I would hate to make an enemy of you two.
Camilla: No need to get carried away with praise. I know you both feel we won by a paper-thin margin. And I won't deny it. If we were to fight again, there's no telling who would prevail. What do you think, Kandan?
Kandan: Aw. They were nothing.
Aiden: Well, with the way you fought, it sounds true indeed.
Camilla: Kandan?! Well, I suppose it's OK to let victory go to your head just this once.
Braddock: In any case, I hope the day never comes when we have to put this experience to use.
Kenneth: Agreed. I would hate to know a future in which I'm forced to cross swords with you.
Camilla: True. Although the Battle of the Eagle and Lion was originally named after a war between the Empire and the Kingdom. But that's all in the past. I'm sure even the name will one day fade from the pages of history.
Aiden: I hope so. But, phew, am I hungry.
Dean: Yeah, time to eat!
Marnie: It's finally over... There were way too many strangers at that feast.
Ronnie: Put your chin high, Bernie. It was a chance for you to have growth.
Marnie: But... but everyone was acting so friendly! It was overwhelming...
Randall: Richard, I wasn't done talking to you! If those Alliance guys came at it from here and those Kingdom guys came from there-
Richard: I know, I know. We'd have been able to take them all out at once. I heard you. I'm going to bed now.
Aiden: Well, would you look at that. Heh, everybody's bonding even more.
Camila: Until today, I thought it would fall to me to command and guide our ranks all by myself. But with you leading us, I've gotten to experience what it's like to fight alongside everyone... And I've realized... how happy it makes me, fighting under your command. The emperor doesn't take orders from anyone. It's their duty to stand alone and lead the entire Empire. But maybe it's better to have someone to rely on... so that you can support and guide each other through the darkness.
Kandan: Am I that someone?
Camilla: I may be heir to the Imperial throne, but first and foremost, I'm your grateful student. That will never change, even when I fulfill my destiny and become the emperor. I told you long ago that I wished to enlist you in the service of the Empire. Well, I take it back. Now I wish only for your continued guidance during my eventual reign.
Mystik: Hmmm, Kandan only fought ferociously because he didn't seem to trust Irma. A sign that his faith is slipping even more, even as trouble continues to magnetize around him. Blastbomb, get the Elementals together, and tell Dairou it's time to continue his experiment...
