Narrator: With the world on the edge of chaos, a new moon rises to greet such an age. And it is the Pegasus Moon. The northern lands are enveloped in a bitter cold, and frigid winds are carried across the sea to the south of Essena. When feather-white snow falls on Me-Hador's Locket, the fort looks as delicate as a pearl. However...beneath that snowy blanket, her Throat is more treacherous than ever.
Sampson: Irma, please talk to me. What are you hiding? What is the meaning of how that one looks? It is almost as though...
Irma: As I said, there is nothing of which to speak. For now. At the end of this month...
Sampson: I read Janus' diary. I happened upon it in his room.
Irma: What?
Sampson: In it, he stated the reason for his departure. The baby thought to have died in the fire...has returned to us. Janus realized that you had done something to the child and decided to flee. What did you do to that baby, Irma? Nothing...questionable, I should hope?
Irma: Sampson, enough. They will be here shortly. No more, I beg of you. I will take our dear professor to the Holy Tomb. There...I should be able to see our dearest wishes to fruition. When I was young, I heard her voice there... I'm sure of it.
Oona: Excuse me, Milady, but you called for us, did you not? And, uh, we brought Kandan with us.
Irma: I have been awaiting your arrival, Kandan. Now that you have received sacred power from one of the Ancient Ones, there is somewhere you must pay a visit to at once. You must go to the Holy Tomb so that you may receive a divine revelation from the other Ancients.
Kandan: A revelation?
Irma: Why, yes.
Sampson: The Holy Tomb is where the Ancient Ones sleep. This monastery was originally built for the purpose of protecting that hallowed temple.
Irma: Only a select few know of it, but there is a legend about Hadoria and the Holy Tomb. Saint Hadoria the first soul to be gifted power from these ancient beings, received her revelation there. She was told it was her sacred duty to save the people of Me-Hador, and that she must use her power wisely in order to lead them. The words that were handed down to Hadoria from the Ancients will likely fall upon your ears as well.
Sampson: Prepare yourself to go at once. There, may you find out why you were blessed with such power.
Irma: There will be a ceremony at the Holy Tomb. It is then that you will receive the goddess's revelation. You may share this mission with your students.
Kandan: Do you think it wise to bring them into this?
Aiden: For this once, I must agree with him.
Irma: It is said that when Hadoria received the revelation, she had holy warriors by her side, protecting her. Your students, who have followed you and fought alongside you through the darkest of times, are well suited to stand by you for the ceremony. Of course, as the leader of the Church of Hadoria, I will be by your side as well.
Kandan: Isn't that too dangerous?
Irma: The Holy Tomb is a sacred temple that is sealed off from the rest of the world. There is nothing to fear. Even if something were to happen, I am more than capable of protecting myself.
Sampson: Much has changed, but your duty has not wavered. Steel your mind for the ceremony and prepare your students well.
Kandan: I will go but know that my mind is not on your intentions.(As he starts to walk off, Mystik once again appears in his mind)
Mystik: True, your mind is not on her intentions. But before your true destiny can be realized, you must gather more allies...
Kandan: As the fates command.(Aiden nods. Outside)Hmm, I can't hear Chrominos' voice anymore... Perhaps it is better this way. After all, I could reach whatever destiny Mystik has planned with his power. But first...
Samuel: Are you positive? Really? Your appearance is due to the influence of the Crest of Flames? Intriguing. Unfortunately, I have found no record of Novox's hair and eye color ever changing. However, If that transformation was brought on, in part, by the power of the Crest, that would be most... Well, I suppose interesting is too small a word. Still, it would be an absolutely exceptional discovery. To know for certain, we must investigate further. So, clothes off!
Kandan: Is that really a good idea?
Samuel: What? A full physical is in order, yes? We need to know if this transformation affected you adversely. Don't worry, it won't hurt a bit.
Kandan: You know what really hurts the most? Not being a part of the action every Knight of Hadoria gets to live out, that's what.
Samuel: Yes. Still, Kandan! I've been watching your class activities and I wondered if you might desire my help. Just say the word and I'll pitch in. Of course, I have to be truthful... It's all just a ploy to make it easier to research your Crest!
Kandan: No matter what the intention, you'll live with the rewards. It is as the fates command...
(The same power that sent Aiden into a daze now strikes Samuel)
Samuel: I see.(Snaps back to reality)Feel free to call on me anytime. I'll be happy to lend a hand. And then you can help me out with my class too. It's a joke, Kandan. I'd never put a burden on you, a first-year teacher.
Julia: The Holy Tomb, huh? I've worked here for years, and this is the first I've heard of it. I mean, it does make some sense. Sort of. Something about it is still weird. I understand now why they'd build the monastery in the mountainous center of Me-Hador. Although... When the monastery was built, the Kingdom and the Alliance weren't even around yet. But look how cleverly it was placed right in the middle of the Empire, Kingdom, and Alliance. That's weird, right?
Kandan: Not so much in my opinion. But you know, you would like to sing for the masses, am I right?
Julia: So?
Kandan: So, you don't need Irma to be a burden on that dream.
Julia: Of course. I know that look in your eye... You want to ask me a favor. You want me to help out with your class, right? You just say the word, and I'll help however I can.
Kandan: Yes, for that is what destiny puts us for. It is as the fates command.
(Now the mysterious power sends Julia into a daze)
Julia: Yeah.(Snaps back to reality)Don't worry about it. you're just starting out as a teacher, right? It's only natural for those of us with more experience to help the younger generation.
Annabelle: People who live an inordinately long time, people whose hair changes color, and those odd Heroes' Relics... Is Me-Hador some mystical land full of inhuman creatures?
Kandan: Is the world different outside Me-Hador?
Annabelle: You should see for yourself. I'd recommend exploring west of the Empire.
Kandan: I see.
Annabelle: Heh. Working hard, aren't you? I'll admit, I'm impressed. I can assist with any tasks, or help with your students.
Kandan: For someone who resides far beyond here, you should know plenty about that.
Annabelle: Huh?
Kandan: But loyalties mustn't be reserved for one single person, but for a community. It is as the fates command.
(Once again, the mysterious force that gripped Aiden, Julia, and Samuel now has Annabelle in a daze)
Annabelle: You mean...(Snaps back to reality)On it. I'm free anytime I'm not on a mission with the knights.
(As the boys head to the Entrance Hall, Camilla watches them)
Camilla(to herself): So, Mystik's pulling Kandan to my way of thinking. Might as well help make things more promising for him.
Aiden: Look, I know we're going too far, but still I wouldn't stop either even if I wanted to.
Kandan: And you're sure you want to do this?
Aiden: I will always be here for you. We will succeed.
Camilla: Oh. I didn't see you two here.
Kandan: Oh, hello Camilla.
Camilla: Um. Kandan, will you join me? There's something I must do. It will take a few days, but I promise we'll be back in time for the ceremony at the Holy Tomb.
Kandan: Where are we going?
Camilla: It's meant to be a secret, but...I'm going to Enbarr, the Imperial Capital. There is something I must do there.
Kandan: I'll go with you.
Camilla: Thank you, my teacher.
Aiden: Well, don't leave me behind. I'll go get us some horses.
(The three head out, and after a long trip, arrive at Embarr. Camilla addresses her father who sits on the throne in the throne room. Kandan, Aiden and a few Imperial soldiers are present.)
Camilla: Father, forgive me for asking this of you. I know how much pain you're in-how the burden of the throne weighs heavily on you-and so-
Ian: There is no need to apologize, Camilla. You must know... (coughs) that I do not have much time left in this world. The time has come. (coughs)
Camilla: Thank you, Father. Now, to complete the Imperial succession, you must relinquish your crown here in the throne room. The archbishop of the Church of Hadoria would normally act as witness, but my professor will fill that role instead.
Ian: My young blood...
Camilla: From this day forward, the weight of the Empire's future shall rest upon my shoulders. All that I do will be for the benefit of the people of Me-Hador.
Ian: Fine. Camilla Toussaint, the crown is yours. By the covenant between the red blood and the white sword, and by the double-headed eagle upon your head, I hereby pronounce you the new emperor. Are you prepared to take those responsibilities as your own?
Camilla: In accordance with the ancient covenant, and in keeping with the legacy of our bloodline... I swear that upon this throne, I shall use my reign to lead Me-Hador to a new dawn and achieve peace for all.
Duke Aegir: Your Majesty! You must not leave your sleeping chambers in your condition.(Noticing Camilla)Ah, Camilla. I did not expect to find Your Highness here.
Camilla: Prime Minister, you have misspoken. I am no longer "Your Highness" but rather..."Your Majesty".
Duke Aegir: I-Impossible!
Ian: It is true. Camilla is the new emperor of the Essena Empire. We will summon the officials, (coughs) and prepare an ordinance at once. And you, Prime Minister-
Camilla: -are dismissed. It will be some time before you are allowed to make contact with the outside world again.
Aiden(whispering): Ouch, Jason's going to have a hard time sleeping when he hears about this.
(Kandan chuckles)
Ian: Camilla... My dear Cammy, I leave the fate of our realm...(coughs)in your capable hands.
Camilla: Father...
(Soon enough, all three are back in Elysium)
Camilla: Thank you for staying by my side, Kandan. Now that I'm the emperor, it's time to grasp my destiny. After the ceremony at the Holy Tomb, I must return to Enbarr. This may be the last we see of each other. We are out of time, my teacher. Everyone is waiting for us. We must go.
Kandan: Right.
Aiden: Yes.
Jess: Well, sounds like things have been going your way so far.
Brett: I brought both Jess and Johann, just like you asked.
Camilla: Thank you. And my gratitude should also fall upon Helen, for all she has done. But before we move forward, I must show you something...
(She puts on a mysterious black ring, and the armor of the Shadow Knight manifests)
Camilla(distorted voice): See, the spirit of the Shadow Knight has seen my cause as noble and has never strayed out of line. So, whenever his aura flares from this very ring, my secret remains.
Ava: Yes, but I'm afraid Shadow Knight needs to wait a little longer. Camilla, on the other hand, is needed at the Holy Tomb with her classmates.
Camilla: Oh, you're right.
Zedd: And we'll be right behind you, when the time is right.
Helen: Yeah.
(Kandan, Aiden, and Camilla join the entire group and Irma)
Irma: Are you surprised, Kandan? This is the Holy Tomb.
Camilla: To think there was such a vast space beneath the monastery all this time. It's hard to imagine that any of these enormous contraptions are of this world.
Kenneth: Incredible. To think such a vast space has been hiding beneath the monastery all this time. I wonder what powers that giant mechanism that descends beneath the ground.
Braddock: That mechanism for descending underground back there... What powers it? When I tried to come by myself, it wouldn't even budge.
(Everyone moves forward)
Irma: This is where the ones who created this world was laid to rest, along with their children. It is said that one of these Ancients, the time-master Chrominos, sat upon this very throne. Kandan, do you recognize this throne?
Kandan: I do.(From behind, Broadedge and the Elementals come forward)
Irma: So long... I have waited so very long for this day. Sit upon the throne. I have no doubt you will be gifted a revelation from the Ancients.
(Kandan does walk over there)
Irma: Well?(pauses as nothing happens, while Mystik and the Mechtanium Force join their comrades)It was supposed to be but a step away. What could possibly be missing?
Kenneth: Halt! Reveal yourself!
Braddock: Uh... Sorry to disturb you when you're distressed, Archbishop, but it seems some uninvited guests have arrived.
Camilla: Stop right there.
(Everyone else soon sees Camilla in full Shadow Knight regalia, Daniel, and the entirety of Camilla's crew with a contingent of soldiers from the Essena Empire)
Johann(laughs): Don't move, any of you. If you move, your lives will be forfeit. Thank you ever so much for guiding us this far. The Imperial army will now take possession of everything in the Holy Tomb.(snickers)
Luke: Why is the Imperial Army here?
Kristy: So, they knew we were heading to the Holy Tomb and followed us here.
Zane: Even the Shadow Knight is here. That can only mean-
Richard: Yes. So, the Shadow Knight's connected to the Empire. I never thought that possible.
Marnie: Camilla, did you know about this?
Camilla(distorted voice): Yes. In fact, I gave the order. I am the Shadow Knight.
Logan: Well, it doesn't sound like it!
Daniel: I guess that's the end of play-at-school, Lady Camilla. I mean, "Your Majesty".
Johann: Get to work, everyone! The Crest Stones belong to us now! And take those filthy bones, too.
Irma: Insolence! You will atone for the sin of tramping on this holy resting place. Kandan, destroy these villainous traitors who dare dishonor our creator!
Kandan: As you wish.
Randall: Wait! What's the meaning of this, Camilla?
Ronnie(in disbelief): You... made use of us? Why?
Camilla(distorted voice): I'm sorry, my teacher. I cut this path, and now I must follow it. My friends, I ask that all of you stay back. It is not my intention to fight you. But my ambition is fair, and my cause is just!
Jess: Take them all! Do what you must!
Logan: Here we go!
Oona: Let's do it!
Irma: I will not allow such violence from the Empire! Strike down the rebels and protect the Holy Tomb!
Dean: Right.
Adonis: We'll help too!
Gianna: We're here for you, sis.
Benjamin: Yeah.
Sean: We'll stop them.
Johann: The Crest Stones are in the caskets! Open every last one of them!
Irma: The Holy Tomb must not be desecrated! Protect as many of the Crest Stones as you can!
Kenneth: Heretics! What could be gained from desecrating these tombs and disgracing the dead?!
Braddock: I guess we're fighting over who gets those Crest Stones… What in the world do they intend to use them for, anyway?
Brett: I'll take that.
Camilla(distorted voice): Take away every last one of those Crest Stones.
Irma: That is enough! Do you even know what those stones are?!
(Brett runs over to his fellow Elementals, who have already taken some stones)
Brett: You want these? Try and take them!
Ava: Fire!
Zedd: Wind!
Brett: Thunder!
Kira: Steel!
Mina: Water!
Elementals: Combine to form...
Mega Elemental: The Mega Elemental!
Benjamin: Dean, you think we can take on this big jerk?
Dean: Certainly.
(The two take down the unbeatable Mega Elemental, while Kenneth and the others take out some stone-stealing soldiers. Oona and Irma's sisters deal with Blastbomb and his pals to take back the stones they stole, while Braddock, Logan, Adonis, and Alvin take out some Demonic Beasts. Everyone else takes out some mages as Kenneth, Braddock, Kandan, and Rhonda head towards Camilla)
Johann: Well, you've made it quite far trying to stop us, haven't you? Heh. I'm told it's fine to kill those who resist. Now then, how shall I cook you?
Jess: Char em', partner!
Kandan: I think not!
Jess: H-Hold on!
Johann: Wait... No! I was just following orders! I just... Graaargh!
Rhonda: Now, it's your turn, Cammy!
Camilla(distorted voice): Rhonda. You could have had a peaceful life... Why did you have to come to Elysium?
Kenneth: Do not try to say you have forgotten... Do you know just how many people died in Kiadan?
(At this point, the aura of the Shadow Knight's spirit flares up)
Shadow Knight: Why bother with this? Stay silent and fight.
Kenneth: So you want to turn your eyes away from the lives you have trampled? Dastard! You are a monster. The lowliest beast I have ever known.
Timothy: My thoughts exactly.
Braddock: So, you're the fabled Shadow Knight? Go ahead and enlighten me. What are you planning to do with the Crest Stones? What did you use Rhonda's blood for? Who's Bellatrix? Who's Dairou?
Shadow Knight: Silence. There is no need for you to know. And that was four questions, by the way.
Braddock: Is it that mask that's to blame for your curtness? If so, maybe I should rip it off and ask again.
Oona: Give it up Shadow Knight.
Logan: We know who you really are!
Shadow Knight: You are the only pair of people I did not wish to make an enemy of...
Oona: And look where we are now!
Kandan: Camilla, stop.
Camilla(distorted voice): Kandan, I will make no excuses. Thank you for all that you did for me. In truth- No. Let's leave it at that.
Adonis: Shut your mouth!
(He takes a potent swing at Camilla with his Sporedite, severing the link between her and the Shadow Knight's spirit)
Shadow Knight: Ugh...(The helmet flies off, and lands near Kenneth)
Camilla: So the end has come...
Braddock: Is this some sick joke? The Shadow Knight is actually Camilla?!
Adonis: Camilla? You?
Sean: It can't be.
Benjamin: It was her this whole time?
Gianna: No way.
Vex: Heh heh, sounds like we've been had. Guess it's time to spill the beans.(flashback)See, Camilla and her sisters were tortured day in and day out by the real nasty Dark Ones. Unfortunately, all of us were in the same boat. Day after day, it was the same routine, until Cammy emerged the sole survivor. But this reward didn't come without a price, both mentally and physically. Yet despite all this, the eleven of us knew we had the exact same thing going for us. Add another pal like Andre to the mix, and we had quite the group.
(Everyone else is not amused)
Kaz: Don't worry, you'll understand the whole truth once you come to realize Irma's game. But for now, since we can't have you all up in our grill, it's time to clear the dance floor... and get rid of you.
(But as Kaz prepares to destroy them, Kenneth, still reeling from all this, is looking down on the ground. He starts dementedly chuckling, then proceeds to crazily laugh while Oona looks at Kenneth with a concerned expression.)
Kenneth: Is this some kind of twisted joke?!(He brandishes his lance and kicks the Helmet of the Shadow Knight out of the way. Oona tries to stop him as he approaches Camila, but is pushed away by him)I've been looking for you... I will take that head from your shoulders and hang it from the gates of Enbarr!
(He charges toward Camilla, and her troops charge towards Kenneth to stop him, but he uses his lance to knock back 4 of them, and then proceeds to throw his lance toward Camilla's face. She gasps, but the lance barely misses her face and whizzes past her shoulder. Kenneth continues beating up more Imperial soldiers with a crazy look on his face.)
Imperial Soldier: Stop right there!
(Kenneth stops the soldier and grabs his face, and then crushes his skull off-screen. He looks at the camera, with his eyes completely dull and blood on his face.)
Oona: Kenny...
Camilla: Uh...
Kenneth: Before I break your neck, there is one thing I must ask you.
Camilla: Stay out of my way.
Kenneth: I don't recall giving you permission to speak. Answer my question. That is all you have left to do. Shadow Knight...no. Camilla. Tell me now. Why did you cause such a tragedy?
Camilla: Grr...
Kenneth: You killed your own mother, and yet you haven't even had the decency to stop and consider the reasons behind your actions. Have you?!
Camilla: I already told you, I had nothing to do with that.
Kenneth: Ha! It was foolish to think I could reason with a lowly beast.
Imperial Soldier: Your Majesty, now!
Kenneth: You are a monster...
Harold: C'mon, let's get out of here.(He stops when he sees Logan, Dean, Irma, and Kandan)Outta the way, Logan!
Logan: Sorry, can't do that. Especially now that your master is one of us!
Harold: You aren't thinking...
Dean: Aren't thinking what? Come on, spit it out! Obviously, you don't realize...
Irma: That is enough! You have disappointed me, Camilla. To think that a descendant of the Toussaint lineage would dare betray the holy church...
Camilla: So, it is my teacher who stands in my way. I always knew it would come to this...
Irma: Kandan, kill Camilla at once. She is a danger to all of Me-Hador. Such a rebellious heart cannot be allowed to keep beating.
Kandan: Danger? No, you, and your petty beliefs are the danger...(He walks away from Irma.)And we, are the solution.(To Randall and the others)This society won't accept us. We form our own. The humans of Elysium have played their hand. Now we get ready to play ours. Who's with me?
Randall(stepping forward): As the fates command...
Richard(also stepping forward): As the fates command...
(One by one, Jason and the others do the exact same thing)
Irma: You... How dare you!
Camilla(In shock): My teacher, I- Thank you! But are you certain that- No, now isn't the time for discussion.
Daniel: Words cannot properly express my gratitude, Kandan.
Kandan: Hey, don't put it all on me Danny. The fates commanded it.
Daniel: Ah, so Mystik was correct.
(Now it's Oona's turn to go berserk, as the memory of being tricked by Kaz and his crew plays again)
Oona: TRAITOR!(Aiden blocks her with his Kunai)
Aiden: You coming Tyson?
Tyson: No. You may think what you're doing is what the fates want, but they're just using you.
Aiden: Then I guess, this is really goodbye.
Irma: So, this is the choice you have made. You are just another failure. Your presence soils this Holy Tomb and disgraces my brethren. I will not allow one who would lend our enemies strength... to wield the power of an Ancient One. I have passed judgement. And now, I shall rip your chest open... and TAKE BACK YOUR HEART MYSELF!
Daniel: Well, would you look at that.(Chuckles)That must be the Stormbringer...
Camilla: Yes. The monsters that have controlled Me-Hador in secret for far too long. Irma is their leader.
Daniel: There is no time to waste. Your Majesty, Kandan, we must escape while we can.
Aiden: I'll be right with you guys...(As he loads a blowgun with a special poison dart)But first, I may need to get everyone else out of here first.(He shoots the dart, and it hits the Stormbringer, causing it to roar in pain)
Gianna and Marah: SISTER!
Dean: Of course. Metal is to dragons as poison is to us...
Timothy: So why not mix the two together?
Alvin: Unless that was the plan all along.
Aiden(to Richard and the others): Now's our chance, let's go!
Kaz: Hey, what about us?
Zedd: We're going too!
Gianna(as Marah tries to heal their sister): Go ahead and run but know that you will not be given a graceful welcome if you dare to come back! The Church of Hadoria will raise its entire army against you, until you have been captured and punished! You have defiled the Holy Tomb, dishonored the Ancients, and humiliated your brethren. That crime will never be erased, even if you burn in the eternal flames, and spill all of your blood into the land of the Ancient Ones!
Aiden: Well, if we do come back, things won't be any easier for all of us, holy scum! Goodbye.(He leads the others into the stables, and they ride several horses out of the monastery)
Marah: You alright?
Irma: Yeah.
Adonis: For now, they have escaped. Let us return and decide upon our next course of action.
Benjamin: Aye.
Sean: Of course.
Timothy: You're right.
Kenneth: Ngah...
Oona: I can't believe it. Camilla...
Kenneth: We weren't able to defeat her.
Oona: I know. Ugh, why'd I let them get away? ARGH!
Luke: Your Highness...
Alvin: Oona...
Oona: No! No! I wasn't wrong! I'm still a tough girl. This wasn't my fault! None of it is! It's her fault. And I. Will. Bury her!
Kenneth: I will kill Camilla. With my own hands. I swear it!
Braddock: I'm not exactly on friendly terms with the princess, but I do have a few questions for her. Camilla said that the Crest Stones represent power. That means she knows how to use them. She almost certainly knows other secrets of Me-Hador as well... Once things calm down a bit, there's a lot more that Irma needs to tell us.
Logan: Yes.
Braddock: I just hope there's still time. I have this strange feeling... that history is being written. That an age of anarchy is upon us. Let's hope I'm mistaken.
Dean: Brad, I'm afraid that this attack is about to go down in history, just not in the way any of us expected it...
(Back at Elysium, Tyson is looking at the horizon)
Sampson: Camilla and Daniel, along with your brother and cousin have disappeared. They will surely return to the Empire. The knights have been dispatched to search and investigate. If there is any movement, we will know. We cannot ignore the possibility that there will soon be open hostilities between us and the Imperial army. When that happens, are you prepared to fight your own?
Tyson: I do not know the true answer to that question, Sampson. But I do know that we are more divided than I first thought. Oona and Kenneth have developed a thirst for blood, Logan and Braddock are torn on what this could all mean, and Alvin and Dean seem to be caught in the middle. In other words, our family is being torn apart!
Sampson: Such is the reality of war, my boy. And soon, you may even realize that.
Oona: Ugh, this is just a nightmare.
Alvin: Oona...
Oona: No, you don't get to help!(Shouting loud and angry)Kandan! If it's the last thing I do, I'll. . . I'll get you for this!(Alvin looks on sadly)
Alvin: So... He's finally shown his true face. The same Kenneth I've seen once before–a beast who loves spilling blood.
Katie: You're wrong! I'm sure of it. There has to be an explanation...
Zane: I knew he'd been carrying the burden of that tragedy. I understand his thirst for revenge. His family and closest friends...all massacred right in front of him. But...it still doesn't add up. There must be more that we don't know.
Nora: That's true. Kenneth didn't come unhinged until after the Shadow Knight was unmasked...
Donovan: You don't think...there's some connection between those two...do you?
Dean: Well, that went poorly.
Logan: Just go away.
Dean: Could have been worse.
Logan: Tell that to everyone who's been affected by this revelation. But instead of one from the Ancients, we got one from one of our own!
Dean: Yeah. Now that you mention it, it wasn't what everyone else, including Irma, had expected.
Logan: And things are only going to get worse from here...
(Back in Embarr, Daniel notices some familiar faces)
Daniel: Is that Aiden? Heh, so that Dragon Poison worked after all.
Camilla: Dragon Poison?

They did all of this to make the masses bicker amongst themselves. They caused instability in order to reinforce their own authority. They gathered gold and lived in extravagance. How? By preying on the devotion of those who wished for the goddess's salvation! Those corrupt hypocrites cannot lead all of Me-Hador to true peace! Their foul belief system must be torn asunder so that true wisdom may finally prevail! And so, I have decided-Though the cost may be hefty, and the blood may flow. It is with a heart forged by steel that I decree- the Empire hereby declares war on the Church of Hadoria!
(Back at Elysium, Sampson and the remaining children of Janus are gathered)
Sampson: I cannot believe it... Let us recount the situation as it stands, you guys. After you returned from the Holy Tomb... the Essena Empire declared war upon the Church of Hadoria, as well as our allies.
Logan: What?
Tyson: What?
Alvin and Dean: What?
Oona: Declared war?
Sampson: Yes, as unthinkable as it may seem... Camilla demanded her own father relinquish the throne, and then assumed the position of emperor. She has deemed the Church of Hadoria to be an evil of this world and is calling upon the people of this world to help her tear it down. I must discuss our response to this declaration with the archbishop after the knights return from their investigation. Until then, watch over the students. See that they remain calm.
Luke: Oona, Alvin, we heard the news. The Empire has declared war on the Church of Hadoria.
Zane: We knew this day would come, sooner or later.
Cassidy: What's going to happen?!
Alvin: Don't worry.
Katie: We can't afford to be optimistic. It's entirely possible the Kingdom will be invaded.
Zane: Settle yourself, Katie. We need to carefully consider our options.
Donovan: We can't just act rashly. That will only make things worse.
Luke: One we've ascertained the situation; we must return to Fhirdiad. Your Highness...
(Kenneth says nothing, as does Oona)
Braddock: I heard what happened, guys. The princess- well, the emperor now- she really did it, didn't she? The lords and dukes of both the Kingdom and the Alliance have been called out, and now have to choose between the Church and the Empire. The seed of conflict was always there, and now we find ourselves in the middle of a war that will tear this world in two.
Kristy: The Empire is rash, but I never thought it would come to this.
Ava: How could something like this happen? I hope everyone back home is safe.
Samantha: I'm sure it's mass confusion at home right now. My brother must be worried sick about me.
Dean: Let's calm down.
Braddock: You're absolutely right, Dean. I'm sure a lot of us are worried about our homes, but... all we can do now is prepare for battle... and tread carefully.
