Henry was swimming in the ocean. He swam away from the cliff he just fell from after his mother let him go and saved his cousin instead of him. He was planning his vengeance.
Henry managed to swim to a rock near the cliff out of sight of his mother and cousin, he climbed on the rock then took a rest break. He decided to ignore his rage and lust for revenge for the moment as he knew he had to escape so the government would not find him and thus believe he possibly died in the water.
After 5 minutes Henry was done resting and got back into the water and swam to a nearby beach that was mostly deserted with only about two people on the sand, he managed to stay out of site of the beach goers by staying as close to the cliff as possible and crawling on the sand while avoid seaweed and other things that would make noise when stepped on and being quiet until he made it to the beginning of the trail that led to the beach.
He walked up and down the trail until he reached the other end of it and walked down a road to a nearby town. Upon reaching the town he went into a store and stole a wig, clothes and pair of sunglasses without being seen or caught by anybody. After walking to an area where he was alone he changed his clothes and put on his wig and sunglasses he walked to another store where he stole snacks and a map of the state and a map of the country as he looks at them wondering where he will flee to, Henry ultimately chooses to go Chicago.
Henry wonders which method of travel he should choose when he overhears nearby railroad workers at a restaurant discussing their route of travel when they say that the train is heading to West Virginia which will take him close enough to Illinois, After eating his snacks and stealing more food to eat and water to drink, Henry walks toward the rail yard and waits for the train to get ready to leave so he can ride on it. After two hours the locomotive starts and Henry gets on board a boxcar and the train starts moving while Henry resumes plotting his revenge and awaits his journey to West Virginia.
