Chapter Thirty

The Past Comes Back

A/N – Wow, that was a big chapter, biggest one so far. For those of you that know the relationship between Ty and his mom has always been complicated. I was committed to set up the chapter with that in mind so I hope you liked it. Unfortunately the past is not done impacting the Borden's as we move forward. Since Lilly and Max had left the family was as happy as they had ever been. All JT could talk about was fishing with Max and GG, in fact each time they Skyped, JT insisted on some one-on-one time with him, it was beyond cute. Lilly had actually decided to visit on her own to be a part of Amy and Ty's spring lecture at the U of C but actually Maddie was sure it was just to see her. School was going well for the kids and the girls continued to excel. Heartland, Fairfield and the Equine center were busier than normal and plans continued to be executed by the "Board." The plan was to fill family and close friends into the loop in a couple of weeks. JT was a riot, keeping everyone on their toes. Amy and Lyndy decided to get him into some structured play groups which would prepare him for Pre-K. The shook their heads as they watched their little man and the way he was with everyone around him. They were sure that she would flourish with anything in life. Even with Steven on board, Ty was busy with all the extra work needed at all three locations. He even had to squeeze in some time to help Scott when a complicated surgery came up. Amy and Georgie were continuing to take on clients although as she came into her 2 Trimester her workload and support were in constant flux.

A new client was coming in today. A young couple and their son, who was a little older than JT, were coming with a horse they had bought that needed some work. Amy thought it was a little odd that they insisted on coming with the horse and staying at the dude ranch. It seemed the man, a fireman, had some time off and his wife who was a schoolteacher was on break. They were coming at 10 so she added a vet check by Ty at 11. Her hope that after that they could have a lunch and have some time alone. With everything going on she needed a little Ty time and was going to surprise him with a romantic lunch back at the house. She waited outside with one of the ranch hands as a big pickup pulling a trailer came down the road. When they pulled in a young man in his mid-twenties and his wife holding their son got out. The ranch hand went to get the horse off the trailer. "Amy Borden? I am Will Masters, my wife Bethany and our little boy Billy. We are so happy that you were able to take us as a client and provide a place to stay. I have researched your facility and it is impressive as it looks on the internet, And your sister, Lou has really been accommodating even helping us with a bed for our son." Amy responded a little surprised by his knowledge of the operation, "Well thank you but it is what we do. So how did you hear about us?"

He hesitated and responded, "Well a friend of mine, Clint Riley recommended you. He could not say enough about you and your husband, Dr. Borden. He mentioned that he knew him since he was 14 years old." Again a little surprised about his knowledge about Ty, she responded. "Well Clint is a longtime friend and means a lot to us. I will have to make sure I thank him. So Wes will go and stable Apollo and we can walk around. If it is Ok then we will meet up with Ty to talk about your horse, fill out some paperwork and then Ty will look him over. Bethany if you want I can have someone take you to your cabin so you can get settled in with Billy." She shyly looked at Amy and said, "No that's fine, I want to be here with Will and talk about.. our horse." Again Amy had a weird feeling as she responded. She really believed there was more going on than they were leading her to believe. After the brief tour they headed to the office arriving at the same time as Ty. He greeted her with a kiss shook Will and Bethany's hand and pinched Billy's cheek.

They all sat down and Amy gave them the paperwork to fill out as Bethany grabbed it from her. It seemed she wanted Will to be the one talking not her. Amy began asking about the horse's issues, where they lived and the environment the horse lived in, the basic information she always asked for. Her and Ty both couldn't help but notice that Bethany continually looked up at both of them and Will seemed to focus a lot on Ty. Several times she had to restate her question as he seemed preoccupied. Once they finished Ty went to do his exam and Amy had them directed to their cabin where they would have lunch brought over and maybe let Billy nap as he yawned in his mom's lap. "He is such a cutie Bethany, we have a 16-month-old little boy too so maybe they can hang out. He is usually here with us most of the day but I think he is out on a ride with his twin sisters." Amy shared. Bethany looked up with a slight smile, "Wow you have three children, that is pretty cool." Ty laughed and said, "Well actually we have 5 children. Our oldest Lyndy is almost 13, the twins, Addie and Annie are 10, Maddie is 6 going on 18 and of course out little JT. You will most likely meet them, they help with things here as well. A warning, watch out for Maddie, she is a pistol." Jabbing Ty in the ribs and since her lunch was planned, she told them they could meet back at the Center at 3:00pm so Amy can have some time with the horse. Will hesitantly agreed as they followed Wes to their cabin to settle in.

As Ty and Amy headed back to the house Amy had to say something, "Did something seem off about them. Will seemed off and Bethany kept staring at all three of us while we talked. I don't know maybe I am being weird." Agreeing Ty responded, "No Amy I saw the same thing. When I shook his hand it was a little sweaty and he seemed to be shaking and she almost looked scared. The little boy is really cute though" Well he is not JT but he is pretty cute, come on I have a surprise for you." She whispered as she drug him into the house. She took him directly to their bedroom where he saw a beautiful lunch set out with candles and flowers. She smiled and said, "Courtesy of Lou. Have a seat and let's eat, I have dessert covered." The enjoyed a nice lunch and talked a bit about Apollo and his owners. Ty was having trouble concentrating as he looked into Amy's deep blue eyes anticipating what was for dessert. He had noticed that when they walked in she locked the door. After lunch they straightened up and Amy excused herself to the bathroom winking and telling him to get comfortable. He didn't know what to do so he started the fire, poured two cups of coffee and sat up on top of the bed.

As the bathroom door opened, Ty almost dropped his coffee cup. In front of him was his beautiful wife in a very sexy negligee on her toes spinning around to her could see the whole view. "Does dessert look good my darling," she said seductively. "But you are way overdressed for dessert." She grabbed his hand to help him up as he struggled to gain his composure. She slowly began to undress him, starting with the buttons of his shirt and moving to his belt buckle, Once he was in his boxers she gently pushed him back on the bed laying on top of him. "We have two hours, let's have some dessert." They immediately began to explore each other's bodies as they were accustomed to and the clothes they did have on were soon discarded. Amy seemed to be the aggressor as she kissed and felt her way to every part of his body. She was relentless in her quest to please him and he whispered, "Someone seems happy to be here." She cooed back, You have no idea." She kissed and licked her way down his chest and abs ending in a place where she pleased him completely. He moaned her name overwhelmed with her actions, making an effort to calm down. It was not happening as he succumbed to her actions shaking in ecstasy. She moved back up his torso as he flipped her over kissing and tasting her completely. Amy screamed out his name as he brought her to multiple climaxes. Once complete he joined with her with tender and fluid movements. They were both focused on reaching their apex together and did as they quivered and shook, reaching the peak of their love. As they laid side by side catching their breath Amy spoke first. "Wow that was some dessert Dr. Borden, you were, I can't even describe it." "Well Mrs. Borden you are the most enduring and sexy women and you are amazing, wonderful, sexy, beautiful and really hot." He chuckled nibbling on her ear. "Well I am glad you liked our lunch date, after everything with your mom I figured a little diversion would be good." She whispered. "But we need to get ourselves together and get back to our odd clients."

They walked over to the office hand in hand as Lou pulled up. She smirked, "How was your lunch?" Amy blushed and Ty told her it was great, pulling Amy in for a kiss on her cheek. "I just checked on our new arrivals and I have to say they seem a bid odd. He as very difficult to talk to and she basically mumbled hello and hid behind him. The little boy is sure cute though." They both agreed as Lou pulled away on her way to Meggie's and then to the clinic to see her fiancé. As they entered the barn they saw Will, Bethany and Billy talking to Georgie in front of Apollo's stall. They greeted each other and Georgie spoke up giving Amy a hug. "I was just filling them in on what you would be doing with their horse, they have been here for a bit alone so I came over." Amy thanked her and gave her another hug. "Don't worry Georgie is our niece and if you don't know, and Olympic Equestrian Champion and coach of the Alberta jumping team. Bethany smiled for the first time and said, "I thought she looked familiar, you are amazing. I watched her when she won and last summer when the team did so well. I would love to be able to jump like that. I didn't know she worked her and is your niece" Seeing and opening Amy continued, "Actually as family she is part owner of the center and if you didn't notice is expecting her first child with her husband Steve who is a vet here with Ty. So you are a jumper and I expect that Apollo is?" She smiled as Will stepped in, "My wife is a great jumper and that is why we brought Apollo to you, well at least one of the reasons." Ty looked at his odd response and had to speak up, "Will, Amy and I have noticed you seem a bit on edge, are you concerned about something our center is not providing."

Will got a pained look and answered, "Can we talk in the office, there is something I need to ask you." They all hesitantly walked into the office. Georgie offered to take Billy as she noticed the tension. "Let me take him, I think he needs to meet the one and only JT and they can play." Bethany smiled and handed him over. As they sat down and uncomfortable silence came over the group when Will sighed and began to speak. "We are sorry about the tension but we are here for another reason. Clint really did recommend you but the reason we know him is because he has worked with me to help me find my birth parents. I was adopted when I was only a few days old by my mom and dad, Donna and William Masters. They raised me as their son and gave me an amazing life. We all live outside of Edmonton on their ranch. He raises cattle for a living so I grew up with horses and cows. I met Bethany at church when we were teenagers, her father is our minister. We were married a little over three years ago and found out Beth was pregnant with little Billy 4 months later."

"Our life has been great, we are both doing what we love and our little man is our life, In fact, "smiling over at his wife, "we just found out our second baby will be here in 8 months." Amy smiled and went to hug Bethany, "Sorry we like to hug. That is amazing, congratulations we can attest to the fact that kids are the ultimate success for any parent. We love our kids like crazy and are proud of each of them. But Will what is the real reason you came here." He took a deep breath, "Like I said I have been trying to find my birth parents since my parents told me when I turned 18. My parents fully support me so I have been able to find my mother with Clint's help. Her name was Jamie Summers, she had me at 15 when she was in a group home. She never met me and died of an overdose 2 years later. We found out it was the same home you were at and you were both there at the same time." He hesitated as Ty try to remember her. All of a sudden, a look of complete fear came over him. He stood up and before he could say anything Will spoke up, "Ty I think you are my father."

Amy felt as if the wind had been taken out of her lungs and as she looked at Ty, he looked so pale he looked like he was going to pass out. Ty regained his composure and spoke words cautiously, "Will, why would you think that I would have been like 13 or 14 when you were born." Amy raised her head agreeing shaking it and holding on to her husband. She looked and whispered to everyone in the room, "We need to excuse ourselves, we need some air. Would you mind giving us a moment." She got up with Ty with a death grip on his hand. The walked outside and sat on a secluded bench. Ty looked as though he was going to hyperventilate but then he caught his breath looking at Amy, "Wait, Jamie Summers was at the home, I remember. Amy she was one of the 4 girls that used to molest us. It went on for several months until they were caught and went to jail. I never heard about them again.

Remember when I told you the stories of what they used to do. Amy they raped a couple of the 12-year-old kids many times. They used to try to hold me down and do things to me. They were drunk and called me the big one and used to abuse me." Tears were flowing down his face. "Amy they tried to have sex with me but I fought them with all my might. They would give up and force themselves on the weaker boys." Almost ready to break down he said, "They would make me watch and taunt me telling I was missing out on the fun. Amy, they forced the two 12-year-olds to have sex with each other while they laughed at them." He collapsed onto his wife and she held him tightly making sure they were alone. "Ty, none of that was your fault. And like you said, you fought them and they never got what they wanted from you." "But Amy I could have saved the other two by giving in. They each tried to killed themselves and it was because of me." She looked sternly in his eyes, "Ty what you went through was horrible, a nightmare, but it was not your fault. What happened to those other boys was horrible but it is not your fault. You fought for yourself like you always have fought for me. You are a decent man and we all love you so much."

Amy and Ty sat holding each other and as Ty calmed in her arms, he looked up with a revelation. "Wait a minute, I can't be his father, we never had actual sex, I never gave into them. Like I told you, although I had some girlfriends you were the first and will be the only one I ever love so completely." Amy smiled into his neck as he said that. "What am I going to tell him." Amy calmly spoke up, "Lets go back and listen to why he thinks you are his father. It may help us determine how we answer him." He smiled weakly and they walked back to the office. Georgie met them at the door. "Hey guys, JT and Billy are having a lot of fun. Everything OK here." Amy answered, " All good, we will be done shortly and be back out, thanks Georgie." Walking away Georgie didn't believe them but respected them enough to let them go back into the office with no more questions.

As they went back to the office Will and Bethany stood up. You could tell they had both been crying. Amy spoke first to allow Ty to gather his thoughts. "Will, Ty does remember your birth mother. The time at the group home was not a good time in his life so he has spent a long time trying to forget everything that happened there. Tell us why you think Ty is your dad." Will and Bethany sat back down holding each other's hands. "When I looked into her after a lot of digging we found my birth certificate. Like I said she was almost 16 when she had me and when she filled out the birth certificate she put your name down as the father. I inquired and was told that basically they trust that the mother provides correct information. So I went back into the system and with Clints help found that you two were there at the same time." He dipped his head down as he continued, "I also found out that her and three of her friends were arrested and jailed, for juvenile child abuse, molestation, sodomy and rape. I was devasted to think that my birth mother was such a horrible person but relieved that I never had to meet her. She died in jail from an overdose before she was even 18 years old."

As Ty sighed he took a big breath and prepared his response. "Will and Bethany, I can see where you believe that I could be your father. It is hard for me to discuss but I was one of many young boys who were abused by the four of them. They had been doing it for months and a number of boys 12 and 13 were their victims. The guards look the other way because the girls took care of them as well." He paused and put his arm on a struggling Will. He could see that this was rocking him to the core. "Will this is not your fault but I have to tell you something and you need to listen. I am not your father, although I was sexually and emotionally abused by the four of them, I fought and they never had sex with me. I was a little stronger than the rest of the abused kids so they did things to me but never had sex. Unfortunately I think your mother put my name on the birth certificate to get back at me one more time. The girls were livid that I wouldn't succumb to them. I was considered a prize that they all wanted. But Will, your mom and the rest of the girls did force themselves on the weaker kids." He stopped and pulled Will's eyes up to meet his. "I don't know who the father is and have not seen or heard from anyone of them since I left and came to Heartland."

After some uncomfortable silence, Ty spoke up with a sense of purpose. "Will you have an amazing mother and father, and they are all the parents you need. I know it sucks not to know the details of your birth parents but it could be worse. My parents and stepfather abused me for most of my early life. It is the reason I was put into the system and met Clint. Amys mother who died what she was 15 brought me here. Amy and her Grandpa Jack saved me. And Jack is the best father I have ever had, he is my father. I believe life happens for a reason and yours has provided you amazing parents, a beautiful wife and a really cute son. A wise man once told me you should cherish what is in front and learn from what has passed you by. I cherish my wife, my amazing children and my new family. That is what I live for, they are my everything. And Will, you now have us as family too." As Amy hugged Ty tightly Will looked them with pain in his eyes. "After what I have said you don't want us to leave. I accused you of something that you didn't do. My god you were 13 years old and my birth mother and her friends tried to break you." He broke down in his wife's arms as both of them cryed uncontrollability.

Amy and Ty stood up and held onto the young couple. "We want to be part of what is in front of you, your future. After Amy fixes your horse, and I guarantee you she will, you are going to have to come back, heck maybe even be trained by an Olympic Champion. We want you to be a part of our family as well." Amy added, "Will and Bethany, there is plenty of love in this family and we would love you to be a part of it. Ty is not your father but maybe he can be like a big brother, although he is pretty old." She laughed tickling her love. "You too are so cute, Georgie was telling us you are like the ultimate example of a couple." Bethany giggled. The mood in the room had definitely lightened but Will took a moment to answer." Amy and Ty your offer is amazing. You two are the most caring and loving people we have ever met. We would be honored to be a part of you and your children's lives." Amy chuckled, "Well you may want to hold that comment until you meet our crazy kids. They are..something else." Bethany spoke to up again, "If they are like you I am excited, you two are the most amazing people we have ever met." After a group hug the group headed out to the barn.

The rest of the week went really well. Ty and Amy took some time to share what had happened with only the family adults as well as Caleb and Cass. Caleb was well aware of what Ty went through and appreciated their trust in him. The adults welcomed and engaged with Will, Bethany and Billy. There were a few family dinners at Heartland and The Miracle Ranch. Amy and Ty even took them out to Calgary for a night out without kids. That was something that Will and Bethany didn't get a chance to do. The Borden kids didn't understand what was going on completely but knew their parents had bonded with this family so they all spent a lot of time with them, especially little Billy. One day JT, Billy and Ben hung out. It was priceless to see them play together. Many pictures were taken. Amy and Georgie got Appollo on track and Bethany was able to do some jumping under their watchful eye. Georgie, whispered to Amy as they watched, "She is pretty good, I hope she agrees to come back for some more training." The day they were leaving they had a BBQ at Heartland and everyone said their goodbyes. Will and Bethany told everyone they would be back but Bethany joked, "I know you want us back because of Billy, we are chopped liver." Everyone laughed.

Ty and Amy walked them to their truck. The spoke quietly and the girls noticed that their mom and dad hugged each member of the young family tightly. There were a lot of head shaking and smiles. But what got them the most was when their dad pulled Will aside and hugged him patting his back. It was a hug of complete love and support as they had received many times from him in the past. As the truck drove away Amy and Ty stood arm in arm waving goodbye. When they turned around they saw 4 young women with questioning looks in their eyes. As they walked up to them their dad raised his hand and spoke, "Girls I know you have lots of questions and we will answer them when you are old enough to understand. Will, Bethany and Billy need us and we will be there for them." The girls all smiled as Annie spoke, "We understand mom and dad and it is no big deal. We can't wait until they come back and I hope they visit a lot. We like them a lot." The JT stormed out of the house in tears, "Where is Billy." Lyndy laughed handing him to her mom, "all yours mom."
