A Special place Chapter 21
Loren wraps her arms around his neck, their kiss deepens, she pulls away to catch her breath. She looks at Eddie without saying a word.
Eddie notices. "You ok?"
"I think I am."
"Sorry, I took you by surprise."
"I'm taking in this amazing kiss."
He pecks her lips. "You're amazing Loren."
She sighs. "So are you Eddie."
"My album is ready, inspired by you."
She's not sure what he means. "Inspired by me? I don't understand."
"I haven't stopped thinking of you Loren."
"Really? Thought you couldn't stand the sight of me?"
"I'm sorry I blamed you for what your sister did to Evan."
Loren leans on his chest. "I kept dreaming of this moment, I still think I'm dreaming."
He's still holding Loren. "I couldn't stand the idea of you and Vince, I didn't want to get in your way, I thought you cared for him."
"He was very sweet, I liked him, but I didn't love him." She down cast her eyes.
"I was going to stop the proposal." Eddie admits.
She looks at him. "Seriously?"
"Yes, I could tell what he had in mind, I wasn't going to allow it."
"I never meant to hurt him." Loren adds.
He holds her hand. "I have something to show you."
They walk towards his car, he opens the door for her and she gets in, he hops into the driver seat and they drive off.
Meanwhile Mel's back in the building, everybody's gone. Katy walks in. "I thought you left with Loren a while ago?"
"I did."
Katy scans the room. "Where's Loren?"
Mel bites her lower lip. "We were leaving and then Eddie appeared out of nowhere."
Katy looks at Mel. "Omg are you telling me?"
Mel nods. "He kissed her; the most amazing kiss I've ever seen."
"Are you serious?"
"Yes, that's why I walked back into the building."
Katy wants to scream. "Oh my God…he finally realized how he's felt about Loren!"
"It was very romantic! A scene from a romance movie, you know those endings, the guy grabs the damsel and kisses her."
Katy laughs. "Don't forget to breath, Mel!"
Mel sits. "It was very romantic."
Katy looks out the window. "Where are they?"
Mel peeks through the window too. "They were standing by Loren's car; I don't see them anymore."
"Our lovebirds flew away!"
"Thank God, I have an extra pair of keys, where do you supposed they went."
Katy smiles, she knows her son very well. He's very private about his personal life, she's sure he took Loren to a special place. "C'mon Mel, let's get going, help me take things to my car."
"Where's Max?"
"He's in a meeting with Jake and Dan."
Both left the building. Meanwhile, Eddie leaves the city limits of Los Angeles. Loren sits quietly. The kiss they shared keeps playing in her head.
"We're almost there." He says.
"Where are headed?" She can't believe she's in his car, his hand over hers.
"You'll see." He drives towards a narrow road on the side of the highway, he stops the car, he jumps and opens Loren's door.
He holds her hand, she looks around. They're at the top of a hill. It's dark, the city lights can be seen from where she stands. "This is beautiful Eddie."
"It's my special place, this is where I come to write, think, this special place inspires me."
She scans the area. "It's very peaceful, I love it."
"I knew you would, you're the first one I share this place with."
She furrows her eyes. "Not even?"
"No, never brought Chloe here if that's what you mean."
"I'm speechless; I don't know what to say."
He gently pulls her close to him, he leans in to kiss her again. Loren places her hands on his shoulders, she closes her eyes and their kiss deepens, she pulls away and looks him in the eyes, he holds her hand and guides her to an area where she can see all of L.A.
"I'm sorry Loren."
"Let's not worry about that right now, we're here together."
"I almost lost you."
She sighs. "This whole evening is magical."
"I want us to be together, just you and I."
"What about Sally?"
"It bothered me to see you with Vince, thought I'd make it look like I was seeing Sally."
"I wanted to be with you, but, you kept pushing me away."
"My life was a mess after Chloe, I had a hard time trusting anyone after that."
She holds his hands. "That's over, now it's you and me."
"You came on pretty strong at first, I wasn't sure what to think." He adds.
"I loved you since day one, I heard you on the radio, then I watched you in several interviews, I knew you were genuine, I loved that about you." She realizes she used the L word.
"I've fallen for you, I don't know when it happened, it was hard to admit the truth to myself, when I heard Kevin a mentioned it several times that's when I realized I wanted to be with you."
"I love you Loren." He finally said it out loud.
"I love you too."
"After my marriage failed, I didn't think I'd say these words again."
"You loved Chloe, you don't stop loving someone overnight."
"We were too young to understand, I've always wanted what my parents have, thought I had it too."
"My mom was 18 when she married Dan, Nana told me they were in love, they were too young, now I know Dan's father ruined everything." Loren adds.
"I know it's hard Loren, Dan is an amazing man."
"My father is alive, it's weird to say it out loud."
"Give yourself time to get to know him, Gail is a very sweet lady."
"I know, I'll try, I have nothing against her, I have 2 more sisters, that's exciting."
Eddie smiles. "I wonder if Lucy knows."
"Nana told her, I'm sure she's going to try and get something from Dan."
"I still can't believe you're related."
Eddie's phone buzzes. "It's my mom, she's asking where we're at? I guess she ran into Mel?"
"I love your mom and dad."
"They love you too." He says.
"We can go if you want too?" Loren asks.
"No rush, I'll talk to her later, I'd rather be here with you."
They kiss once more, everything about tonight feels so real, she fits perfectly in his arms.
Meanwhile…
"Hey sis, where's Eddie?"
Katy chuckles. "Hmmm, not here."
"I know that, I didn't see his car outside."
"Have you called him?"
"It went straight to voicemail."
"He must be very comfy right now!"
Kevin nudges her. "What's going on?"
Katy shrugs her shoulders. "I don't like gossip!"
"Since when?" Katy narrows her eyes at him. "According to Mel, he kissed Loren."
Kevin's jaw literally drops. "Are you serious?"
"Yes…after she told Vince no, he went after her."
"It's about time!" Kevin says.
Katy smiles. "I'm happy for him."
"He deserves to be happy, but, he has to be careful."
Katy stops what she's doing. "It's different this time, Eddie has matured, he's not 20 anymore."
"If you don't mind, I'm going to talk to him."
"He's older and Loren is different."
"I want to talk to him sis, don't worry, I know Loren is right for him."
"Be careful how you tell him."
"I know I won't see him tonight, I'll have a chat with him tomorrow, see you later sis, it's late, you've had a long day."
Kevin gives her a peck and leaves the room. Katy hadn't thought about it. She anxious, she wants to see her son happy, he's been hurting for a while.
Eddie stops at Loren's place. He's a perfect gentleman, he opens the car door for her.
"Thank you for this special night."
He holds her hand. "It's a place for us."
"I love it, today was a very special day."
"It's our special place."
She knows she's blushing. Eddie that makes her tummy go array, her hands are sweaty, his touch gives her goose bumps. She initiates the good bye kiss; she leans on him.
"Sweet dreams Eddie."
He kisses her back. She opens the door and walks in. "Well, well, well, where have you been sister dear?"
Loren rolls her eyes. "None of your business, Lucy it's late, why are you here?"
"That's what Mel said…is it true? Did I see you getting out of Eddie Duran's car? I saw a kissing"
"Tell me what you want and leave, it's late, and I'm tired."
"I met our father."
"Please tell me you didn't make a fool of yourself?"
She takes a sip of water. "He's filthy rich…do you know what that means?"
"Leave him and his family alone!"
Lucy lets out an obnoxious laugh. "I'm going to get everything I can out of him! He owes us."
Loren walks back to the front door. "Go home; I have nothing to talk to you about Dan Roberts!"
"Whatever Lolo…I'm taking advantage of this, getting anything I can from him."
"Leave me out of it…good night Lucy!"
She grabs her bag and walks to the door. "Don't get to comfy with Eddie, you might think he's for you…he's not."
Loren slams the door and leans on it. She closes her eyes reliving every single moment with Eddie that evening. Nothing Lucy said will ruin her perfect night with Eddie.
The following morning, Eddie's getting out of the shower. There's a knock on the door. He grabs his robe and opens the door and finds Kevin with two cups of coffee.
"Thought you might need this."
"Have I told you that you're my favorite uncle?"
"Yeah, I'm the only one you have!"
Eddie takes a much needed sip of coffee. "This is perfect, thanks."
Kevin sits nearby. "I heard you were with Loren last night?"
"I'm amazed how fast news travels…is it in the internet already?"
"No! Your mom told me last night, I'm happy for you; I knew this would eventually happen."
"I couldn't sleep last time…she's all I could think about, I never thought I'd fall in love again."
"Chloe was wrong for you, unfortunately you didn't see it…are you sure you're ok?"
Eddie furrows his eyes. "Why do you ask?"
"You know what I mean?"
Eddie takes a deep breath. "Stop worrying so much, it's different with Loren."
"She's the best thing to happen to you."
Eddie walks away. Kevin watches him, he hopes everything will be fine with his nephew.
Chapter ends here today. Why Kevin is worried about Eddie?
