Chapter Thirty-Seven

Recovery – School – Let's Party

A/N – I hope you handled the drama ok because just like the show I feel that life includes highs and lows. I believe the family acted like we all knew they would. And I just have to say that I am really having fun with the character Maddie. We have one of them in our family and she is a hoot. Amy and Ty are doing well and the kids are laser focused on the beginning of the school year. And of course we have some parties and babies on the horizon. Strong Mature Content. Enjoy

Maddie was sitting on the edge of her parents bed tapping her fingers on her leg and grunting. She was 10 seconds away from waking them when she saw her mom opening her eyes. Yawning, she asked, "Madelene Louise Borden, what are you doing in our bed, you know the rules. The house better be on fire or you have some explaining to do." Ty woke wondering who his love was talking to as he watched the conversation unfold. "Well I am on the morning shift and you guys have a doctor's appointment in 1 hour and you don't want to be late. Don't you love us?" Maddie whined. Ty answered, "What do you mean silly of course we love all of you." Crossing her arms she huffed, "Well then you need to get up, eat some breakfast and get to the doctors. Dad, don't you get your cast off today? Mom isn't this your last visit before you have the all clear?" Amy laughed, "Honey our appointment was moved to 10:00 so we have over two hours." She thought for a few moments and huffed, "Fine we will be downstairs waiting for you with breakfast ready." She stomped off as Amy snuggled into her favorite place, his broad chest. After a few minutes she sighed, "I guess we better get up, Addie and Annie just walked pass our door twice. The nurse thing has gotten to all of their heads." They kept their pajamas on and headed downstairs to a full table of kids and a breakfast buffet on the counter. They kissed each of the girls on their heads and when they got to JT he blurted out, "Bout time." Everyone broke out in laughter and enjoyed their breakfast.

It had been over three weeks since the accident and after their Doctor's visit Amy was good to get back to work. Ty's arm and contusions had healed but was only allowed to do limited work for another week. The doctor wanted him to take it easy and let his concussion clear up completely. The rest of the staff had really picked up the pace. Since Georgie was out of the picture and Amy still couldn't get in the ring, Lyndy and Katie really picked up the slack. Wyatt had also begun taking on some easy horses under Amys' watchful eye. One day she was standing next to Lyndy and noticed the gleam in her eyes. "He is really doing well, have you been helping him?" Lyndy blushed and quietly said, "Yes, isn't he doing great." "Calm down honey, I know you care for him but we need to make sure, no matter what you feel for him, that the horse is the first priority" If your dad was all googly eyed over me he may not have become a vet." She giggled tickling her. "Hey who is talking about googly eyes? Ty interrupted. "And to be clear, because I watched your mom I fell in love with her and wanted to become a vet. So there," sticking his tongue out. Lyndy walked away as Ty put his arm around his wife, "He is really doing good and did you see Lyndy's eyes, kind of like the way you look at me. Who knows when this concussion things clears up I may get lucky." She smiled and kissed him deeply for a little longer that they should have. Lyndy interrupted then, "Hello can you focus on my boyfriend, he needs you help." Ty laughed and grabbed his oldest daughter kissing and hugging her. "Dad stop you are embarrassing." Amy and Ty loved their kids.

During their recovery the girls stepped it up to make sure their parents healed quickly. They organized their medications and appointments. Whenever Ty or Amy went somewhere, one of them were with them. They weren't overbearing but were persistent and disciplined. Although they joked about it Amy and Ty loved how they cared for them and truly believed their recovery was quicker because of it. Amy's injuries were the first to heal and she was back to almost full time after the last checkup. Ty's bruises healed quickly but his arm was staying in a cast for a little over three weeks. The big concern with the medical staff was the concussion. Ty had had a few earlier in his life so they were diligent in making sure that he had the right amount of time to heal. After his cast was removed he was allowed to do examinations and light work with the assistance of another vet or one of the techs. Steven and Cass took over the more challenging client horses but Ty was always there to assist if needed. Business continued to grow steadily, so without the extra effort of the staff they would not have been able to keep up. The had the list of potential vets down to three and hoped to have a decision soon. The intention was to have the new team member work at the Vet clinic with Scott and allow Cass to spend half of her time at the Equine Center. Steven would take all of the Heartland horses and if needed she would help out.

Now that their parents were on the mend the girls were focused on the start of school. New school clothes were bought and all of their supplies. Lyndy was kind of happy her dad couldn't go with her mom, Katie and her because she was sure he may not approve of some of them. The kids know all of their classes already as well as their teachers. Amy took all the kids to open house at school. One goal was to become familiar with where they had to go with JT's class. Maddie wanted to do it all herself but it was finally decided she would do two days and the Twins would rotate with the third. The all met JT teachers as well. All was set and JT seemed excited. Lyndy, Annie and Addie were excited as well because they had several classes with their boys. Lyndy had every class but one with Wyatt so she was ecstatic. While they were walking around Lyndy seemed a little off. Amy looked at her with concern and asked Maddie, Annie and Addie to take JT to see JT's classroom. She leaned into her daughter, "Ok I see that something is bothering you, what's up." She sat down with her mom and spilled the beans, "Ever since the whole uncomfortable date thing with Maya and her boyfriend, I have kind of stayed away. She texted me and wants to meet to compare our schedules and I don't know what to do." She leaned into her mother's shoulder.

Amy took a second to answer, "Lyndy, do you remember Ashley Grant" "Yes wasn't she married to Caleb once?" Lyndy remembered. "Yes she was, well when we were younger, Ashley was known to be overly friendly with a lot of boys and her reputation was not good. She even tried to tempt your father but he saw through her act. Anyway we couldn't stand each other, actually when I beat her in the Fall Finale it was the greatest day of my young life," Amy smiled remembering that day. "She eventually changed and we became and are the best of friends. You know why it changed?" Lyndy looked in her eyes, "How?" "Well one day I just sat down and talked to her about my feelings. We were a little older and more mature and she understood. I think you are going to have to talk to Maya. I mean she is/was your best friend for a long time. Talk to her honey, and if she understands it will work out." Lyndy took a breath and smiled, "Ok I will and actually I don't even think she is with that boy anymore." They hugged as the other kids retuned to Maddie yelling, "Let's get lunch at Maggie's, I am hungry." The laughed, headed to the SUV and had an enjoyable lunch. They called Ty to meet them since he was at the clinic performing a difficult surgery with Scott. They took over a corner of the diner.

At dinner the girls continued to talk about their classes and the visit to school. Even JT was excited about his new class and the teachers. Maddie seemed a little quiet. Ty looked over to her and asked, "Hey Mads what's up you look a little down and if I remember you love school." She answered, "I do love school but I am a little worried." Annie spoke up, "Come on Mads you are really smart and you will rock the 2nd grade." Maddie smile as Ty and Amy were pleased to see their children supporting each other. Addie added, "Come on Kiddo spill it, we are here for you, always." Maddie smiled, "well there are two things, first I am a little worried about the extra work I am going to get and hope I can do well. But more importantly, I don't ever want Gwen to think I am too good for her. She was asking about the accelerated stuff I was taking and seemed a little worried." Lyndy motioned for Maddie to come sit on her lap. "Lyndy, you are smart, kind, considerate, loving and an amazing sister to all of us. We are confident you are going to rock in school. Heck you may even be smarter than Dad." Everyone chuckled as Amy Poked Ty's ribs. "But your love and respect for Gwen is your most amazing trait. I feel the same way about Wyatt and when we all see you together we are awestruck. You two will be inseparable for the rest of your life. Nothing will ever change that." As she finished Addie and Annie came over and hugged their sister, even JT hopped off of Amys' lap joined in. Amy and Ty held each other's hands tightly as they looked at each other with misty eyes. Their kids were perfect.

The most important thing coming up for the Borden family were the birthday parties for Annie, Addie and Maddie. Just a few days apart the agreed again to have a combined party. They knew it was easier for their parents and actually liked that it made the party bigger. The party was going to be the first Saturday after school started. An invite list was agreed on with their parents although it was a struggle. All together with family and other guest it was going to be about 35 people. Luckily the twins still shared some friends that helped control the number. Everyone was excited, the tent would be put up with tables and chairs and a small dance floor. All three girls wanted Maggie's fried chicken and all the sides. Several of the staff from the restaurant offered to set it up. In addition several of Clint's kids offered to serve the food as well. Clay as usual set up some age-appropriate music with Wyatt's assist. Georgie passed on the cake and pies as she was due in a couple of weeks. It was the night before the party and the girls were pumped. The four of them were in the Twins room with the door closed giggling and laughing. Amy was with a horse and Ty was in the house with JT. He couldn't help himself telling JT, "What are your sisters up to, let's go see." He knocked on the door and asked if he could come in. He heard a lot of shuffling and finally they allowed them to come in. What he saw took his breath away. His four beautiful girls were in cute dresses and blouses and their hair was all made up. He looked at Lyndy and realize her clothes were a little more adult that he would like but she looked stunning. With moist eyes he took a moment to comment as they all modeled for him. "You four are beautiful, I can't believe how amazing each of you look. I don't have words for how I feel right now." The all ran up to him each kissing his cheek. "Then he whispered in JT's ear, "We better keep an eye on the boys tomorrow, your sisters look amazing." JT smiled and said, "Beautiful Sissies." The all laughed and got ready for bed.

It was a beautiful day for a party and Lyndy got all the kids up with instructions not to bother their parents. She noticed last night that her mom and dad were cuddling a lot so she figured the needed to "Sleep" in. It was a little uncomfortable for her but it made her feel good that her parents were so in love. Amy rolled over to see her sleeping husband. Clothes were still off since last night's love making. She gazed at his amazing body, smiling bashfully recalling their night. She went to cuddle closer when he woke up to a set of amazing blue eyes, "What time is it?' Amy whined, "Probably time to get up, I think I heard the girls shuffling around in the kitchen. And it is kind of hard not to hear little miss boss Maddie barking orders." He smiled, "Fine although I would rather get something else up and moving." She giggled reaching down to feel him, "Rain Check for Sure!" They kissed passionately, dressed and headed downstairs. They were greeted by good mornings, hugs and kisses. And Maddie saying, "It's about time, we have a lot to do to get ready. And you decide to sleep in, geez." Lyndy smiled puling her sister into a hug, "Mads, it is only 9:00, the tent, table and chairs are already up. We have plenty of time." Everyone smiled, finished breakfast and began to get ready to the party.

Guest started arriving for the party early, especially Wyatt, Desi and Jeremy. Amy had invited Grandma June and the boy's parents as well as Gwen's. They felt it would be nice to meet Desi and Jeremy's parents and were happy they could make it. All the guest were there by 3:00pm so the party began. Ty and Amy welcomed everyone and after a short speech about their wonderful daughters they let everyone know that food would be ready at 4:00pm. Cakes and ice cream would be around 5:00pm and gifts after that. They joked that the schedule was Maddie's idea. Music started during dinner and would be more upbeat and after the presents, the floor opened for dancing. Clay was ready with the helpful assist from Wyatt. The kids were seated with their friends and lot of laughing and giggling was heard. Family was together and Amy and Ty sat with Grandma June and their daughters special friends parents. They were really enjoying meeting them. Ty spoke up to the table. "Amy and I think very highly of Wyatt, Desi and Jeremy. They are fine young men and you should be proud of them. And Gwen, she is a hoot. I think our son, JT thinks she is a fifth sister." All of them thanked them for the kind words and Desi's parents spoke up, "Amy and Ty, Addie as a lovely young women. When she comes over to the house she is courteous and polite." Jeremy's parents agreed. Gwen's parent chimed in, "I know you may be surprised but Maddie is amazing and we are confident that Gwen has flourished with her as a friend. It has been hard for her but Maddie has brought her a level of confidence we would have never thought she had. We love her like a daughter" Amy and Ty thanked all of them for their kind words.

Food was ready and everyone enjoyed the Maggie's feast served by some of the kids from Clint's program. Clint of course was there and walked over the Amy and Ty. "Guys I can't thank you enough for this, those kids are having a blast. This program has been benchmarked in several other provinces." He took a second, "Amy it is named the Marion Fleming Youth Rehab Program, in memory of your mother." Amy couldn't even speak as she hugged Clint tightly. Ty leaned into the hug in tears as well, "Thank you Clint," Lou and Jack noticed the interaction and decided to wait until later to see what was going on. They didn't have to, Amy and Ty immediately headed over to the family table with Clint to give them the news. Jack, Lou and Tim were very happy and pleased about the news. Jack, usually stoic, was misty eyed as he shook Clint's hand. "And to let you all know this has reached the public relations office of the Prime Minister and they have requested more detail on it. I believe the accolades will continue." Jack hugged Amy and Lou, "I am sure Lyndy and Marion are smiling broadly right now." The family was happy as they all huddled together. Lyndy walked over noticing the happiness from the family table. She whispered in her mom's ear, "Mom is everything OK, what is up." "Nothing is wrong honey, actually it couldn't be better. I promise I will let you know later." She hugged her oldest daughter and smiled at Ty.

It was time for the cakes and ice cream. Since there was such a big crowd, now over 40, each of the three birthday girls had a cake of their own. Amy and Ty made sure they were big enough to feed the entire group. They were carried out with the appropriate number of candles, lit and a combined happy birthday song was led by Amy and Jack with his guitar. Everyone laughed when they added all three girls to the song. Cake and ice cream was distributed to everyone by Clint's kids who seemed to be really enjoying themselves. With Clint's approval, Amy and Ty had envelopes for each of them with some spending money. Ty remembered that he always enjoyed when he had some extra cash. As the host Ty and Amy made rounds saying hello and thanking everyone for coming, When they came to Maddie's table they were amazed at how she interacted with everyone but mostly Gwen who was always arm in arm with her. At the twins table they saw how they each sat closely to Desi and Jeremy and saw the early signs of strong friendships. They each looked up at their parents and smiled. When they went to Lyndy's table where Katie and Clay were as well, they noticed that she was talking to Maya with Wyatt's hand on her shoulder. It made Amy feel good that her talk had worked. "I can't tell you how happy I am that they are talking again. I guess my Ashley story helped." Ty, looked at her with questioning eyes. "I just told her about how Ashley was when she was young and how after I confronted her we became dear friends. I even told her that Ashley hit on you but you saw through her façade," Ty laughed, "Yea I think I made the right choice," kissing her cheek. "And did you see JT sitting in Wyatt's lap just having a great time. Wyatt is a special young man." Amy and Ty smiled looking over the party as happy as they had ever been.

The party progressed into the early evening. After presents were opened, the kids and their friends were having fun dancing and enjoying themselves. On slow songs even some to the older folks joined in. At Georgie's recommendation Clay set up "Modern Women" which was the song that Amy and Ty danced to when her give her the promise ring and at their wedding. Before Clay started it he asked Amy and Ty to come to the floor alone for the next dance. They looked at him confused but headed up. When he started the song the family immediately knew what was so special. As they started the girls filled in their friends as Amy and Ty held each other lost in their love. She smiled in his ear, "I love this song and love you." As she kissed his neck, the crowd hooted and hollered. After a few minutes Clay invited everyone to join. As they danced Amy and Ty noticed their daughters dancing with their favorite partner and Maddie and Gwen were with JT. Everyone was having a great time. As the dancing settled guest began to leave and Amy, Ty and their girls said their goodbyes. Amy took a sleeping JT to his room and the girls all got ready for bed. Amy and Ty made their rounds spending a little more time with each of them. The wanted to make sure they all had a good time and thanked them for being such good host. When they went to say good night to Lyndy they especially thanked her for this morning and being the big sister taking care of her siblings. Laughing she said, "Good night mom and dad, will you be sleeping in late tomorrow again?" Amy smiled as they left for their room.

As the entered their bedroom, Ty could barely get the door locked before his wife attacked him. Recovering from their injuries had limited their intimacy but since they got the all clear they were desperate to be with each other. Amy immediately jump onto Ty wrapping her legs around his waist. Their mouths collided and tongues tangled. Breathlessly they helped each other disrobe and clothes were strewn throughout the room. They each battled for dominance since both were starving for each other. Amy got the upper hand climbing onto Ty kissing, squeezing and touching him all over. He was overwhelmed with her attack but was smiling and moaning her name accepting her advances without resistance. She satisfied him to a level they had never reached. Ty returned the favor after she slowed down to take a breath. Before she could relax longer Ty was reciprocating his actions pleasing her in every aspect of their love making. Amy was delirious moaning and whispering his name over and over and over. His attention to her was missed and he was trying to make it up in every way. After a long period of their aggressive foreplay, they joined together as one. Their fluid movements brought them each to a level of satisfaction allowing them to reach a satisfying and fulfilling climax. Their lovemaking was always amazing but tonight, the time they had to cut back from their love was regained in one night of extreme passion. After several hours they laid next to each other catching their breath. Amy whispered first, "Wow I really missed that, Dr. Borden you are amazing, wonderful, stupendous." Ty looked into her deep blue eyes. "Amy, every day I think of how wonderful my life is with you and the kids. I can't imagine my life being any better. But tonight, I feel like I am the most loved man on the earth. You Amy Borden are the Miracle Girl and tonight was a definite miracle." She giggled and buried her head into his chest. They both fell into a blissful sleep definitely happy they could sleep in.
