Hollywood Heights, Loren Tate; The story of my life.
Need you Now Chapter 25
Loren can't get out of there fast enough; she sees the limo outside the building, she sees Dan and runs towards him.
"Are you're done for today?"
"Yes, everything is done; I need to get back to my room and pack."
Dan furrows his eyes. "Pack?"
"Yes, if you really want to help, I need you to call your Jet, I'm going back home."
"Eddie has one more day here, aren't you going to wait for him?"
"No, he can leave tomorrow if he wants, can I borrow the limo?"
Eddie appears several feet away. "Loren!"
Dan sees him coming their way; he looks at Loren; he's trying to figure out what happened. "I'm leaving Dan, don't tell him anything." Dan signals the driver, Loren jumps in and leave. Eddie stops as the Limo pulls away.
Dan takes a deep breath. "You aren't leaving yet? You have another show; she went back to the suite."
"I need to talk to her Dan."
"You can talk to her when you're done here, she's tired Eddie."
"How can I do anything? I need her here."
"I'll walk you back, you can talk to her when you're done."
Within 20 minutes, Loren's in the elevator, she exits when it reaches her door, she runs to her room. Mel's frosting a cake when Loren walks in. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm going to pack." She responds.
"Is Eddie's all done?" Mel asks.
"No, I'm leaving alone." Loren says with tears in her eyes.
Mel stops what she's doing and follows Loren to her room. "What happened?"
She could tell Loren's crying. "Is Eddie ok?"
"I can't do this anymore Mel." She sits on the bed. Mel knows somethings wrong; she can see it in her eyes. "Do what?"
"He pulled another tantrum again, Vince stopped by, he said he still cared for me, I told him I love Eddie, he hugged me, Eddie walked in, he was upset."
"He knows you don't love Vince."
"Apparently he has trust issues, I can't do this, I love him, I'm not going to allow him to do this to me, he grabbed my arm, what's next?"
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm flying home right now, I saw Dan, I'm using his personal Jet."
"I can't leave right now." Mel tells her.
"It's ok Mel; I'll have time to think because I'll be alone." Loren sobs, Mel hugs her.
The driver waits for Loren, he loads her luggage in the back of the limo, he drives her to airport, within two hours Loren's on her way home.
Eddie couldn't wait to get off stage, he's finally done for the evening. Kevin notices he's uneasy. "Hey what's with you?"
"Nothing, I want to see Loren."
The moment he heard the tone in Eddie's voice, Kevin knew something was wrong. "What did you do?"
Eddie sighs glaring at his uncle. "Me?"
"Come on Eddie, you're upset about something, Loren was here earlier, she's gone, I saw Vince hanging around, now you're rushing to get out of here, what gives?"
"What's your point?"
Kevin knows something happened, he holds his forehead in dismay. "Please tell me you didn't make a scene?"
"What scene, I don't know what you're talking about?"
"I know you; you got upset because Vince was here?"
Eddie raises his voice. "He hugged Loren, he whispered something to her, she didn't seem bothered by it! Are you happy now?"
"You're kidding me? Loren loves you; did you bother to let her explain? No, you went right back into your old ways."
Eddie stays quiet, his eyes focused on Kevin's words. "I need her back Kevin."
"You have to stop this crazy cycle, not everyone you meet will hurt you like Chloe did, Loren is different from her and Lucy!"
Eddie sighs, his thoughts are elsewhere. "I can't lose her."
"At this point, you deserve to lose her."
Eddie looks at Kevin. "Wow thanks."
"I don't know what to think, you tried hurting yourself once, you need help Eddie, if you want Loren back, you need to get help!"
"I need to talk to Loren." Before Kevin can says another word, he leaves.
Mel's talking to Katy, she's concerned, she didn't see Loren waiting for Eddie at his concert; Mel told her everything.
Katy's heart-broken. "She left?"
"She was crying Katy, she said she couldn't stay here any longer."
"Can't say I blame her; I know they're meant to be." Katy adds.
"I don't know what to think anymore." Mel sighs.
The door slams open and Eddie walks in. "Loren!"
He sees Mel and his mom. "She left Eddie."
He furrows his eyes, focusing his attention on Mel. "Where is she?"
"She flew home."
He sighs and drops at the nearest chair. His hands cover his face; he leans back on the chair.
Katy doesn't say another word, what else can she say? Nothing can comfort Eddie, Katy knows he's hurting, his body language betrays how he's feeling.
For the first time Mel's quiet, not a peep out of her mouth, she can tell Eddie's hurting, the silence that embraces the room tells them it's better this way. After several minutes, Eddie gets up and heads to his room.
He opens the door and walks to the liquor cabinet and opens a bottle, he pours himself a glass and walks out to the balcony. He takes his phone out of his pocket and hits 1 that dials Loren's number, it goes directly to voicemail. "Hi, it's Loren, leave a message." He tries to leave a message, he can't say anything to alleviate the situation, he drinks the whole glass. He redials, this time he leaves a message. "It's me, we need to talk, you left, I'm alone right now, I need you now, when you hear this, call me back, I love you Loren, I need you." He hits the end button and goes back inside to get another drink. He leans on the chair, he closes his eyes, tiny tears stream down his cheek.
Loren sits for hours scrolling through her phone, the pilot announces they're landing soon, Brenda approaches her. "Do you need anything else?"
"No, thank you, this tea is enough."
"We've been on the air for hours, you haven't eaten anything, Mr. Roberts keeps the kitchen stocked, I could have the chef make you something?"
"No thank you Brenda, we'll be landing soon, I'm going to see my grandmother, she always has something to eat."
Brenda smiles. "Please put your belt seat on, we will be approaching LAX within 20 minutes."
Loren's phone alerts her to a message. She knows it's Eddie; she isn't in the mood to listen to it right now, she can't talk to him.
It's 6 a.m. when she's dropped off at her grandmother's home. She's exhausted; her grandmother is making coffee.
"Mi Nina, I thought you weren't coming home until tonight?"
Loren's quiet. Lorena knows something's wrong; she walks closer to her granddaughter. "Que paso?" (What happened?")
Loren can't hold it anymore, she leans on her shoulder and begins to cry. Lorena holds her granddaughter and doesn't say another word, she knows she's hurting about something, this reminds her of Sofia, the day Dan didn't come back home, she knows the right thing to do right now is to hug Loren.
Back in Paris, Eddie's wrapping up the final show. After talking to the fans for a while, he heads back to his dressing room. Kevin walks in.
"Everything is set; we head to the airport as soon as you're ready to go."
"I'm ready, I need to get back to Loren, I need to talk to her."
"Have you tried calling?"
Eddie stops what he's doing, he gives Kevin a look, he's annoyed. "Yeah, I tried that already, she's not returning my calls or my messages."
"It's better you see her in person."
An hour later, they head to the waiting Limo, they're driven to the airport, everyone waits to board. It's after 2 a.m. by the time they leave.
At Lorena's home, it's noon, Loren's up; she fell asleep on the sofa. "I thought you'd never wake up; I hope you're hungry mi nina."
Loren smiles. "Did you make my favorite Nana?"
"Yes, the tortillas are fresh; you better sit and eat them before they get cold."
Nora walks in with grocery bags. "Hmmmm, it smells good here." She smiles when she sees Loren sitting at the table.
"Of course you're here."
"When Nana makes my favorite dish, Sopes, I'll be here."
"She spoils you rotten; I thought you were getting here later tonight?"
"I came home a day early, I'm sure everyone is on their way home."
"You didn't wait for Eddie?"
She avoids looking at Nora. "He had one more show."
Lorena signals Nora to keep quiet. Nora places the bags down and joins Loren for lunch, she doesn't say another word to her.
Meanwhile, Dan makes a quick stop, he lands in Spain before continuing the trip back to Los Angeles.
Mel sits alone, she looks out of the window. Kevin offers her a cup. "Coffee?"
Mel smiles. "Thanks."
"You headed home after we land?"
"Yes, I'm worried about Loren."
"She's ok; it's Eddie I'm worried about."
"If he continues to have these jealous tantrums he's going to be alone forever."
Kevin takes a sip of the coffee he's holding. "I know, my nephew loves Loren; I know his feelings are genuine."
"I'm sure he does, wish he'd chill you know."
"Enough about Eddie, I was wondering if you'd have dinner with me this week?"
Mel's eyes widen. "Dinner?"
"I'm asking you out." He smiles.
Mel bites her lower lip. "Why not, give me a call." He sits across from her and they continue to talk while they enjoy their coffee.
Eddie sits in the back of the plane. Nothing seems to console or comfort him. Katy tries talking to him to no avail. He scrolls through his phone; he looks at pictures of Loren.
"That's not going to solve your problems." Dan adds.
"I love looking at her, I need her Dan, she's my everything."
"Listen, I spoke to Vince, this won't happen again."
"It's me, I'm the problem, I know Loren wouldn't do anything to hurt me, I blew things out of proportion when I saw him that close to her."
"You need to straighten everything with Loren." Dan tells him.
"Listen, I need to talk to you first."
Dan checks his phone. "I have time right now; as soon as we land I have several meetings, then dinner with my wife."
"I need to ask you something."
Dan sits, they talk for the remainder of the flight home. It's close to 10 p.m. Loren gets ready for bed.
"Are you going to stay here again?"
"I hope its ok Nana, I hate being alone, Mel will be home in a few hours, she texted me, apparently Dan made a stop in Spain, they're running a few hours behind, they should be here by morning."
"Of course it's fine, I love having my girl here."
Loren hugs her and goes to bed. She tries to fall asleep, she can't stop thinking of Eddie. By the time the plane lands, Eddie's in a better mood. He takes a separate car and leaves without saying a word to anyone.
He arrives at his place, showers and makes several calls, he stops at Loren's place, he asks Mel not to come home yet, he needs to talk to Loren.
Loren had breakfast with her grandmother and Nora, she took a shower. She fixes her hair and decides to wear her favorite pink dress; as usual, her make-up simple.
Lorena smiles when she sees her. "Mi nina you look beautiful, I'm happy to see you smiling again."
"I'm going home Nana, my luggage is in my car, Mel should be home by now."
"Don't forget to stop by soon."
She hugs and kisses Nana, she leaves. Loren arrives at her place; she pulls her suitcases out of the car and with the help of the doorman, she's able to get to the elevator.
By the time the doors open in Loren's floor, she steps out to find Eddie standing there. She walks passed him, Eddie trails behind her.
"I'm sorry, I've had a lot of time to think about all of this, I made an appointment to see a therapist, I'll do anything to keep you in my life, I love you."
She opens the door, there's a huge variety of Roses in her living room, they're everywhere. "They're beautiful."
"I love you Loren, I'm lost without you."
"This is the second time you pull this stunt, first with Lucy, you thought it was me, you did it again with Vince, you don't trust me, you never will." She refuses to look at him.
"I know, I've had time to think, I know it's me, I promise to get help, I'll do anything, I need you in my life."
"I don't know." Loren holds back tears.
"I love you, you've made me realize what true loves feels like, I know you love me, you can't say you don't." She's quiet, her back to Eddie. "I can't live like this." Her voice is trembling.
"I spoke to Dan."
She wipes the small glistening tears that got away. "What did you talk to him about?"
"He's your father, I had to ask him for permission."
She's confused. "Why would you need his permission?" She asks and finally turns to look at him, he's down on one knee.
"Loren…."
Ugh….sorry…chapter ends here…
