To the moon and back, remember? Chapter 26

Loren's speechless, he's down on one knee with a beautiful black velvet box in his hand.

He finally asks. "I love you Loren, will you marry me?"

How many times did that scenario play in her dreams? When she was a little girl, she played with Lucy rehearsing her wedding, pretending to walk down the aisle to the man of their dreams. Eddie's words brought her back to reality. "I asked you something."

She finally response. "I love you Eddie, but, I can't say yes right now."

Eddie stands up. "What are you saying? You say you love me and you won't marry me?"

"I Love you to the moon and back remember? It's too soon, you told me you're going to seek help, you need to do that before I say yes to marrying you."

He sighs. "Loren!"

She isn't going to continue this conversation, she walks into her Condo, he trails behind. "Something went wrong!"

"No Eddie, you went wrong, you were enraged with jealousy. I can't handle that; I won't handle that behavior anymore."

She takes the velvet box he's still holding and closes it. "Here, put it away for now."

He stops her. "Hold on to it, this is going to happen, I made my first appointment with the Dr."

She focuses on his eyes. "You understand?"

"Yes." She knows he's hurt. "What if I go with you?"

"I'd rather talk to the therapist alone."

"I'll wait outside for you." She says.

She holds his face. "I love you, you know that?"

He scans her eyes; he looks down her lips. He leans in to kiss her; she allows the kiss to deepen and wraps her arms around his neck.

The door opens, Mel peeks inside, she clears her throat. "Can I congratulate the future Mrs. Duran?"

Loren rolls her eyes and looks at Mel. "We're not engaged."

Mel furrows her eye brows; she turns her attention towards Eddie. "I thought you were going to ask her?"

"I did, she said no."

Mel's shocked, she turns her attention towards Loren. "What? What's up?"

"Nothing Mel, it's not going to happen right now."

Eddie walks back into the room with a bottle of water in his hand. "I'll be back later Babe; Dan and Jake want to see me."

As soon as he's gone Mel turns her attention on Loren again.

"What happened?"

"Nothing happened."

"You realize Eddie Duran asked you to marry him, and you said no!?"

Loren sighs. "I wanted to say yes."

"You could have said yes for now."

"That's not the point Mel; he has to understand how serious his jealous tantrums are; I won't put up with them any longer."

Mel sighs. "Ugh you're right; I'm going to get ready."

"You just got home, aren't you tired?"

Mel smiles. "I have a date."

Loren's eyes widen. "Who asked you out?"

"You will never guess!"

Mel walks towards her room, Loren follows her. "Who?"

"Guess, I'll give you 3 chances!"

"Just tell me! I can't imagine who." Loren stops in her tracks. "Omg is it Vince?"

Mel laughs. "Omg No! It's Kevin."

"Are you serious?"

"Yes, he asked me on our way home."

Loren hugs her. "I'm happy for you."

"I'm excited; the moment I laid eyes on him I knew he was the one."

"I'm sure, he's really sweet."

"I know; I need to get ready."

Loren smiles, Mel walks into her room to get ready. Her phone buzzes. She smiles; it's a text from Eddie. "I love you."

She texts back. "Love you too."

Eddie arrives to meet with Dan and Jake. With the release of his album they want him to do a few concerts in the LA area and other cities in California.

Jake leaves, Dan wants to know. "When's the big day?"

"No day."

"What! No date set?"

Eddie lets out a huge sigh. "I need help."

"When we spoke earlier, you said you were going to see a therapist, I'll makes sure he comes to you when he tours."

"You'd do that for me?"

"Anything to help you and Loren."

"I love her Dan."

"Then it's time to do something about it, prove yourself to her."

"I made an appointment to see Dr. Skylar on Friday."

"You're leaving the following week, I'll make sure he's on board, I'll bring the therapist to you."

Eddie cracks a smile. "Thanks Dan."

Eddie leaves Dan's office and stops at his parents' home. Katy smiles when she sees him. "Hey handsome."

"Where's Pop's?"

"He's getting a bottle of wine from the cellar; I thought you were with Loren?"

"I was, things didn't go as planned."

Katy notices the tone in his voice. "What happened? You rushed us home from Paris to see her."

"I asked her to marry me, she said no."

Katy sighs. "You didn't think she'd say yes after the mess in Paris?"

Max walks in. "Found our favorite bottle." He stops when he sees Eddie. "What are you doing here?"

Eddie furrows his eye brows. "Am I interrupting something?"

Eddie stops and looks at his parents, he speaks before Max can respond. "I don't care to know what you two had planned, I'm out of here."

"I thought you were spending the evening with your girl."

"I thought so too, see ya later."

Max chuckles. "What happened?"

"I'm leaving."

Katy pecks his cheek, Eddie leaves. She turns towards Max. "He asked Loren to marry him."

"Whoa, are you serious?"

"I told you what happened, he needs help, ."

"I agree, he has to control that temper, and work with his trust issues, he has his work cut out for him."

Katy kisses him. "Let Eddie handle it, you and I have a date with this bottle." She holds his hand and they walk into the adjacent room.

"Of course my lady." Max pecks his wife's cheek.

A few days later, Eddie is ready for his first appointment, as promised, Loren's with him, she waits while he meets with the Dr. A week later, he tours nearby cities, Dan makes sure his therapist meets Eddie for his appointments. Loren stays busy with her designs, the Oscars are approaching, she's going to design for several of the nominees.

Eddie tours several cities in the San Francisco area, and Dan makes sure he doesn't miss his therapy sessions. Loren joins him twice a week; she starts to notice Eddie's more open about his feelings. She can tell he's improving because he runs into several High School friends, Eddie sees her talking to the guys and he continues to rehearse for his next show, therapy is working, Eddie is more calm and secure in their relationship.

Kevin and Mel continue to date, after several weeks, they're officially dating. Everything seems to be falling into place.

Eddie will tour in Seattle for a few shows. Loren's making a name amongst Hollywood's well-known celebrities, several of the nominees are wearing her gowns, she's excited, she stayed behind to make sure the gowns are perfect for Hollywood's biggest event.

Eddie will tour Las Vegas for 3 months. His latest album is on the top five on the Billboard.

He wants Loren to join him, she's busier with Hollywood's elite. After a long day, she finally home, this seems to be her schedule lately.

"It's almost 1 in the morning Lo, you've been gone since 6 a.m."

"I know, I told Kelly I was taking a few days off, I miss Eddie, I need to see him."

"He's been in Vegas for a month." Mel says.

"I know, we FaceTime every night, it's not the same."

"You should fly to Vegas; I'm sure Daddy will let you use one of his Jets."

Loren nods. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"You have to admit it's great to have one of the richest men in the world as your father!"

"I don't see it that way, my name isn't Lucy remember?"

"I didn't mean it like that! Speaking of your sister, where has she been hiding?"

"I don't know, Dan gave her an ultimatum, she isn't allowed to model for now, she's helping in one of his charities."

Mel laughs. "Are you serious?"

"Yes I'm very serious, she isn't allowed anywhere near his family, he rented a modest place for her, she has to pay for it on her own."

"Yikes! I hope that helps Lucy."

Loren grabs her phone, there isn't any text or messages from Eddie, she misses him. She looks through her phone; she has many pictures of Eddie.

Mel notices and nudges her. "You should surprise him, go and see your guy."

Loren sighs. "Can you keep a secret?"

"Of course, what's up?"

Loren opens the drawer and takes out a small wooden box. Mel furrows her eyes. "What is it?"

"Help me pack Mel; I'm going to take this box to Eddie."

"You're leaving now? What's the surprise?"

"It's a surprise for Eddie, you'll know soon enough."

"Let me get your things together." Mel says.

"I'll call Dan, I'm sure I can fly out tonight."

Mel helps Loren pack a few things. "How long will you be gone?"

"A day or two, I'm working on a lot more sketches and designs, I have several ready for my ladies, I can't be away for too long."

"I'll pack these for you, call Dan."

Loren walks away; Mel's curious, she's tempted to take a peek. She checks to see if Loren is coming, she's about to pick up the wooden box.

"Oh no you don't!" Loren yells.

Mel jumps at the sound of Loren's voice. "Omg, will you stop doing that!"

"I told you not to look."

"I can't help it; I'm dying to see what's in there."

"You're going to have to wait, Dan is sending a driver to get me, they're headed to Vegas too, I'm tagging along."

"You have to let me come."

"Don't you have work to do, cook for someone?"

"No, I was supposed to see Kevin, he cancelled our date, he said Dan wanted him to go with him, I assume it's Vegas?"

Loren smiles. "I know it will be fine with Dan, the more the merrier."

"Eddie will be surprised to see you!"

"Yes! Let's hurry; Dan said I have 20 minutes to get ready."

A few hours later, Loren boards the Jet with Dan's family, Kevin and Mel are snuggling on the other side of the plane. Jillian and Dalia are sitting nearby with their laptops; they're trying to look for things to do while in Vegas.

Loren's phone buzzes, she smiles when she sees a text from Eddie. "Hey Babe, last show tonight, we can face time when I'm done, miss you, love you to the moon and back."

She smiles, he always makes her blush; she takes the wooden box out of her bag. She texts him back. "Love you too, can't wait."

The Plane lands in McCarran Airport, Dan instructs the pilot to go to the private area. He tells Loren he has a car ready.

She smiles. "Thank you Dan, you've been very helpful."

"I'm here for you, always."

Loren hugs him. Jillian and Dalia walk towards them. "A Daddy and daughter moment."

Dan hugs both his girls and places a soft kiss on their forehead, the Limo drives them to one of the Hotels Dan owns, Eddie is performing on next door.

Loren walks into her room, she showers, and changes into a pretty lilac dress, it's one of Eddie's favorite. She fixes her hair and her make-up is simple. She steps out of the room and finds Mel and Kevin getting ready to go into the elevator.

"Wow! You look Hot." Mel snickers.

"I want to look pretty special tonight."

Kevin smiles. "Where you headed?"

"Going to wait back stage for Eddie, he'll be done soon; I want to be in his dressing room waiting for him."

"Do you mind if we tag along?"

She shrugs her shoulders. "Sure, why not."

Mel looks at Kevin and whispers. "She's acting pretty weird; she's carrying that wooden box again."

Eddie's done for the night, he waves to his fans, he can't wait to see Loren, even though it's through Face Time for now.

He runs into Kevin and Mel. "What are you guys doing here?"

Mel smiles and looks towards his dressing room. "Is Loren here?" He asks.

He opens the door and finds Loren standing there. "You're here Babe, thanks for the surprise."

She leans in to kiss him. "I had to see you, I miss you."

She takes the small wooden box and places it on Eddie's hand. "Open it."
