Loren's dad Chapter 28
Dan can't mutter a word. He's caught off guard with her request, he didn't think it'd happened, his heart skipped a beat.
Loren nudges him. "Dad will you walk me down the aisle?"
Gail hugs him from behind, he looks at his beautiful daughter.
"Yes Loren, it will be an honor."
She smiles. "Thanks Dad, I love you."
He hugs her, he sheds a few tears. Loren hugs him tighter, she kisses him on his cheek.
"I love you too." He responds, you can see how proud he feels.
Gail notices they're getting emotional and steps in. "We have a wedding to get too."
Nana checks Loren's dress to make sure nothing is out of place.
"Don't cry mi nina." Lorena's holds back tears.
"I'm very happy Nana, can't promise you that I won't cry later."
"Is everyone ready?" Nora asks,
Mel stands in front of the doorway that leads to the hallway. Jillian and Dalia are right in front of her, Nora stands by the door to make sure everything is ready to start. She signals Max, he tells Eddie they are ready to start.
Eddie takes his place in front, Kevin stands next to him. The violinist starts to play; Loren's sisters make their way towards the front.
Dalia's the first to enter; followed by Jillian and finally Mel. The girls are wearing beautiful yellow dresses.
Loren takes a deep breath and looks at Dan; he smiles. "Ready?"
She nods, they make their way towards the door. Everyone's surprised and happy to see Loren holding Dan's arm. Eddie can't keep his eyes off his beautiful bride. Loren blushes; she can feel his eyes on her, the butterflies are non-stop in her tummy.
They reach Eddie, Dan places her hand on his. He leans in to kiss his daughter on the cheek and steps back, he takes his seat next to Gail. Nana and Nora make their way towards their seats. Jake and Kelly are there too.
The ceremony starts, within 20 minutes Eddie and Loren are pronounced husband and wife. He gently holds her and kisses her. They turn to acknowledge their guests, everyone stands and applaud the newlyweds.
The bride and groom make their way towards the back of the patio trailed by everyone. They take their place and all the congratulations begin. It's a private wedding, no sign of paparazzi, Jake made sure the the news of Eddie getting married wasn't leaked to the media.
Dinner is served on time; Eddie and Loren are guided to their table. A variety of dishes are placed on their table. Eddie acknowledges his beautiful bride.
"I can't say it enough today, you're very beautiful."
Loren blushes again, she'll be doing a lot of that. "You look gorgeous hubby."
He holds her hand. "I noticed Dan walked you down the aisle."
"He's done so much for me from day one, he acknowledged I'm his daughter, I'm blessed to have him, I want everyone to know he's my father."
"I'm glad you did, it was the most beautiful thing everyone saw, you walking towards me with your father by your side."
"I have to admit it felt amazing."
"That's great, I'm happy you found your father."
Everyone notices Lucy walk in; she's quiet, she makes her way to the table where Lorena and Nora are seated.
"We're happy you made it."
"I couldn't get out of work early; but, I'm here."
"I'm happy you're here for your sister."
Lucy locks eyes with Loren. She waves at her. Loren smiles back. "Looks like Loren is finally happy?"
Nora interrupts her. "This is their wedding day, please don't start anything right now."
Lucy nods. "No worries, I come in peace."
"No one will tolerate anything today Lucy."
"I watched the ceremony, I was standing nearby, I didn't know when I could come in, I saw our father walk Loren down the aisle, I'll be good!"
Nana smiles at Lucy. "Let's enjoy this beautiful day with your sister."
She rolls her eyes. "Yes, Yes, can we stop now?" She waves to the waiter to bring her a drink.
Everyone enjoys their dinner; Max stops at Eddie and Loren's table. "It's time for your first dance with your husband; unless there's going to be a father and daughter dance?"
Loren's eyes said it all, Eddie notices. "Go dance with your father."
"Are you sure?" She wonders.
He nudges her. "Go."
Loren makes her way towards Dan, he's sitting with Gail, Katy and Jake. She taps him on the shoulder.
"It's time for the father and daughter dance."
He looks at her; his eyes say light up. He stands without saying a word, Loren holds his hand and they walk to the center of the floor. Max whispers something to the head of the band; the band starts to play the song. "Isn't she lovely?"
Loren sways on the floor with Dan. He can't help it, tiny tears stream down his cheeks; everyone notices the joy in his face, he's been acknowledged by Loren, and it feels great.
Right before the song ends, Eddie steps next to them; Dan smiles and moves out of the way, his turn to have their first dance as husband and wife.
They dance to one of Eddie's songs. After their dance ends, everyone joins in. After a few songs, pictures are taken, Loren walks around the room to talk to their guests. Lucy appears with a glass of wine in her hand.
"I guess I should congratulate you?"
Loren sighs. "That's up to you Lucy."
"I'm glad you're happy, he's crazy about you."
Loren blushes. "I'm crazy about him too."
"I can tell."
"Thank you for coming."
Lucy narrows her eyes. "You thought I wouldn't?"
"I don't know what to think anymore when it comes to you."
Lucy sits at the nearest chair. "I didn't know if I should, I resented you the moment I noticed you were the one everyone loved having around, the one that always seemed to do everything right."
"You were that girl too; wish I knew what happened that made you change."
She down casts her look. "I can't explain it Loren, I've done so many terrible things." She looks at her sister with the sincerest look.
"I'm sorry."
Loren can't believe what she's hearing, she isn't sure what to expect when she saw Lucy walk into the room, probably expected the worse; she didn't expect Lucy to apologize.
"It's ok Lucy, I'm happy you're here on the most important day of my life."
Loren notices Dan is walking towards them, Loren tells Lucy. "Listen its almost time to cut the cake and Eddie and I will be leaving, you should talk to dad."
Lucy's eyes widen. "Dad?"
"Go and talk to him, he loves you too Lucy."
It's close to 2 a.m. when Loren and Eddie arrive at the Cayman Islands; Eddie has a home in Rum Point Beach.
The driver unloads their bags; Eddie stops Loren. She looks at him. "Did we forget something?"
"You're not walking inside."
She can't help but laugh. "How will I walk inside?"
He doesn't hesitate, he picks her up. "This is the way Mrs. Duran; I'll carry you inside." Before they step inside; he looks at Loren. "I promise to love you forever."
Loren wraps her arms around his neck and they kiss, the driver leaves, Eddie carries his bride to their room. "I promise to love you forever." Loren's sure she's going to melt in his arms with the look he gives her, there isn't much more to say. Eddie and Loren enjoy their magical night.
They wake up each day in each other's arms, walks on the beach a must; evenings in the Jacuzzi, it's the perfect honeymoon.
"I can't stop looking at you." He tells her.
"You've made me blush too much this week." Loren adds.
"The truth, I love it when you blush."
She can't help it; she knows he will always have that effect on her. "I love you Eddie."
The following evening, they take their evening walk on the beach. "I'm dying to ask." Eddie questions.
"What is it?" Loren looks at him.
"Did you believe what Lucy told you?"
"For the first time in my life I could honestly say she was sincere."
"I'm afraid it's another one of her games, I don't want her around if I catch her lying again."
"I know, I have to give her the benefit of the doubt, it will be a while before I can trust her."
"I'm glad to hear you say that, I don't want her hurting my girl again."
Loren can't help it; she pulls him towards her. "You're the best thing to come into my life, I'm grateful every day."
"I should be thanking you, after all we've been through, you're mine forever."
"I will always be yours." She teases.
They sit on the soft white sand and kiss; the following morning they prepare to go back home. They board the Duran Jet; Loren sits on his lap. "I don't want this to end."
"It won't; I'll make sure you're happy every day of my life."
"The same goes for me." She sighs, being in love is a beautiful feeling, she leans in to kiss him, she can't get enough of her Rock Star husband. "I love being Mrs. Eddie Duran."
They're back in L.A.; Eddie's phone buzzes, it's a text from Jake. It's back to business for him.
They arrive at their new home, another gift from Loren's dad, Max made arrangements to move Eddie's things to his new home, everything's perfect.
"I'll be back babe; don't miss me too much." He's on his way to see Jake.
Loren kisses him, she hears noise coming from the kitchen. She makes her way to see who's cooking.
"It smells amazing." She smiles when she sees Mel cooking.
"I thought I'd make you guys a special dinner."
"Thank you, you're the best."
"Where's Eddie?"
"It's back to business, a week away wasn't enough, Jake has to see him."
"Ugh really?" She nudges Loren on the arm. "How was the honeymoon?"
Loren rolls her eyes. "It was perfect, that's all I will say."
"I get it, enjoy your dinner, I have several errands to run before I head home."
"Where's Kevin?"
"He's at a meeting with your dad, he should be done soon."
"Send him a text to join us for dinner."
"Are you sure? I don't think Eddie will approve."
"He'll be fine, go ahead and do it."
Several hours later, Eddie home, Mel and Kevin are there; he smiles. "We have guests."
Loren smiles. "I knew you'd be pleased, Mel made dinner for us."
"How did you know I was starving?" He asks.
Mel shrugs her shoulders. "I know you have a killer appetite and you love my food."
"Sorry I forgot dessert." Mel says.
Eddie squeezes Loren's hand. "I'll take care of that later." Loren nudges him; hoping Mel didn't hear him.
They a great evening. Mel and Kevin are getting ready to leave, Loren's phone buzzes.
Loren answers. "Hi Nana, we're back, what is it? Why what happened?"
"I'm home, we had dinner. Are you ok?"
Eddie notices Loren's worried. Kevin and Mel stop before heading out; both wonder what happened.
Loren hits the end button. "What's wrong babe?" Eddie asks.
"It's Lucy!"
