A grim blood red sunrise came upon the Earth, the cities were deserted corpses piled up. The sun gloomed over a doomed land, hellish ruins is what was left of the land.
Horrified faces of people as a power blitz ended their lives
"No.." Gohan cried out, his eyes were unable to stop it, he was all alone in a world in where nothing was left to save.
Everyone he ever knew were laying in a puddle of their own blood, it won't be long until the androids find him.
Gohan cried out to his father as he laid wounded on the ground.
With a gasp Gohan jolted awake, he looked beside him and Erasa was vast asleep, they still slept in separate beds knowing that Gohan turns a lot in his sleep.
After breathing out he he gained composure, another sigh of relief escaped and held his face in his hands.
"Its over," Gohan said.
It was still a bit dark in the chamber, he noticed movement from Erasa but remained out cold.
Gohan sat on the edge and watched Erasa sleep on her side. He walked over to her and lowered to her level, resting both elbows on the bed.
Gohan's iris moved slightly saddened. And brought up a hand moving a strand of hair from her forehead behind her ear. happy that he didn't wake her.. even when she's asleep she looks like a beauty.
Without waking her he went to calm himself in a shower, he stayed there trying to block these horrid images from his mind, ever since he's back he's dealing with nightmares and like more nightmares will torment him, at times he wished he stayed dead it's taking its toll on his mental well-being.
Gohan sensed Trunkses ki when he stepped out, he was by himself in a train of his own thoughts.
"Hi," Gohan greeted when he found Trunks sitting at the edge of the lookout.
"Hi" Trunks calmly responded back without looking over his shoulder like he usually does.
Gohan wondered what was up, Could Trunks be annoyed with him somehow? Whatever it is he hopes Trunks knows it's wasn't his intention.
"Uh.. did I do something?..are we still okay?" Gohan said standing closer.
"Yeah.." Trunks shrugged lightly.
"I haven't I let you down right"? Gohan asked to be sure.
"No.." Trunks said short.
"I'm not really in the mood to talk about what happened in the past.. I know that's why you're here" Trunks said.
"No, No it's not that.. I had a night terror and I wanted to see if you're all right" Gohan added.
"What was it about?" Trunks got up from the stairs he was sitting on.
"You died.. I found you in a puddle of blood" Gohan said distraught.
Trunks sighed, "there were moments I wished you survived and used the time machine instead of me. With the super saiyan 2 transformation you would have stand a better chance against the androids from the past.
" I'm glad you didn't perish.. If I was in your place I would have wished that I took the fall instead of you" Gohan admitted.
Trunks facial features loosened, " I do wished we could have gone together"
" Just us 3, we would have come up with better plans, " Trunks added.
" I wanted that too, I shouldn't have been so stupid and face Cell alone" Gohan said.
" I also understand if you're not ready to speak about what happened but I need to know what happened to Dad.. "
"Can you at least tell me why you couldn't wish him back" Gohan pleaded.
Trunks stared at him defeated and tears surfaced his body shook lightly, Gohan began to tear up too.
"Trunks-kun.." Gohan said and Trunks felt a heavy hand on his shoulder.
"Come on," Gohan said inviting and Trunks held on to him.
They stood there for a moment, holding each other, when Trunks collected himself he moved away from Gohan's shoulder.
"Everything went wrong, " Trunks said wiping his eye.
"Cell from a different timeline stole our timemachine" and went to the timeline I was."
"I failed to stop Cell, he spared my life just to start a tournament to give every fighter a chance to try and beat him before he kills everyone on Earth"
"Goku and Cell fought first."
"Then you reached a new power and instead of finishing Cell off you toyed with Cell and he ballooned up into a bomb ready to take the Earth with him." Trunks said.
"And Goku stepped in before Cell self destructed, but because he brought it to king kais planet King Kai died in the explosion too"
"We tried to wish him back to life but he's banned from returning to Earth because killing a Kai is a violation of the universal law" Trunks mentioned.
"So.. It's my fault that.. father is not here.." Gohan said and moved away.
"Don't say that" Trunks grabbed his shoulder.
"You're not to blame for this," Trunks said.
" Besides, You gave Cell the final blow, that timeline is saved because of you Gohan" Trunks tried to make him realise his past self has learned from his mistake and is a worthy guardian of the Earth.
" Thank you, for telling me.. " Gohan mentioned.
"I know it has been hard for you" Gohan smiled saddened.
"But All we can do now is wait for his return" Gohan mentioned.
"Yeah.." Trunks agreed.
"Time traveling sure has ruined more than I expected, but it's for a good cause"
"I gained the power to put an end to Cell here, that's one of the greatest accomplishments I ever made" Trunks said.
"But now that our world is safe I want to make one last trip to the past" Trunks said.
"Why?" Gohan wondered
"Because I promised you and your friends that after I defeated Cell I'll let them know"
" I want them to know I'm safe" Trunks mentioned.
"Shall I come with you?" Gohan offered. "I'll leave Erasa a note"
"No, She need to pass that test for University and I need you to be there for her" Trunks said.
"Come back to us alive Trunks-kun" Gohan said serious. "And don't do anything dumb"
"Promise me" Gohan shook his shoulder for eye contact.
"Yes mom" Trunks rolls his eyes.
"I'm just going to tell them I'm all right, Trunks said.
"Why do you always worry for nothing?" Trunks wondered.
"Well for starters you never listen to what I say, You've always been the risk taker of the group"
"And I know you, You always charge into action " Gohan managed to smile.
Trunks smiled back, "You know, a part of me likes that you're worried about me often,"
"Oh.." Gohan didn't expect that remark.
"But at times I wished you would stop doing that and just Trust me for once" Trunks said.
"I've grown a lot and I know what I'm doing" Trunks added.
Gohan gave Trunkses scalp a pat,
"You're right.." Gohan said acknowledging
"You're a grown warrior now, and I feel privileged in help raising you" Gohan said, and Trunks eyes tears up slightly when Gohan mentioned that.
"Just stick close to your friends in the past and work as a team" Gohan said.
"Yeah, of course" Trunks said smiling brightly and entered the time machine.
"Tell Erasa I'll be back in a few hours" Trunks said as the lid closed.
Gohan looked on as the time machine rises up in the air,

Erasa was outside the balcony of the lookout staring at the clouds, she hopes Trunks is okay,
As usual Gohan was worried sick about him, wishing that he kept being persistent to take a trip with Trunks to the past.
but tried to focus on their speech about what he'll say to Erasa at the altar.
Gohan scratched a lot of sentences on the paper, not being good enough to explain how he feels about the love of his life.
" You believed in me when I didn't, you were by my side when I lost everything" Gohan said.
"I hardly speak about I feel about you because I fear I might offend you because I said things different than I intended.." Gohan wrote on a paper.
" But I can't picture myself with anyone else, you are made for me."
"Im honoured to be your husband"
Gohan breathes out, not very with what he comes up with.
Erasa came from behind him with his favourite tea, Gohan looked over his shoulder to her.
Erasa face reddened when Gohan acknowledged her gently with the most gentle smile he ever gave her, losing all intimidating features.. like a lovely giant.
"Thank you " Gohan said when she placed the tray down,
"What are you writing?" Erasa asked curious.
"Its a toast for the wedding" Gohan said covering it with both hands.
"I find it hard to tell you how I feel" Gohan said. "It's like anything I come up with will never be good enough"
"Well words don't matter dearest, action does.. as long respect comes before anything you do I'm happy" Erasa mentioned.
"Mother always used to say that actions speak louder than words" Erasa added.
"My father says that too.. I hope I'll see him again soon" Gohan said looking at the horizon.
Erasa just firms her grip around his shoulder.
"You will" He'll be back in no time"
Soon the dragon balls will be active, a new dragon will emerge. Everything they have ever known will be rebuild..
