Amidst the roaring water, a broken body lay. Broken beyond repair, yet a mysterious force worked its way.

Myriad coloured eyes opened slowly. The ex corpse slowly stood up. Its many coloured hair swayed slightly without wind. It just stood there dumbfounded. Its mind is working in overdrive to understand what has transpired here. Even as it stood by the bank of river Pilt and under the evening sun, it still couldn't believe that it had resurrected. Still, it wasn't time to be in awe. She had to find a place to hide. She couldn't die, but there were still fates worse than death. Jinx had lived in the Undercity enough to know that fact. She glanced at a distance where the white towers of Piltover stood firmly. A ghost of a smile found its way to her lips. She had an idea for a perfect hiding place.
The entire laboratory was silent as Jayce and Viktor watched as the beam of arcane hit the apple. Sadly for them, their research bore no fruit as the apple hit by the beam appeared instantly across the room in the state of fine paste, staining the wall.
"Damn it! Where did it go wrong again?!" Jayce said in frustration as Viktor also groaned tiredly. They had been at it many times, so much so that the original clean wall of the lab had lost its former appearance and now looked like a fruit smoothie gone wrong.
"Well, of course, it won't work. Your placements of ruins are wrong. This rune should be here, and this rune was unnecessary," a small voice came out behind them and pointed a few things at the experimental hex-tech.
"Hmm, you are ri- Who are you?!" Jayce almost unconsciously agreed to the assessment as he looked at the mistakes the stranger had pointed through. Viktor who was also contemplating now noticed the newest addition to the laboratory.
"I am Jinx," Jinx answered. Her hair and eyes now returned to their usual colour.
"I am here to request asylum," Jinx declared.
"Asylum from what?" Jayce asked.
"From someone you don't need to know?" Jinx answered.
"I know you, you are one of Vander's brats. What are you doing here?" Viktor asked.
"Vander is dead," Jinx said with a frown before snapping back to the side and saying,
"shut up Mylo, it wasn't my fault". She looked confused after saying that and looked around.
She muttered, "figure it would only take dying to fix my head".
Viktor raised an eyebrow at this display. He had seen many displays like this in his time back in the Undercity and filed her as the nut job. He thought about how she had corrected them, a dangerous nutjob.
He wondered why can't there be a normal genius like him in the Undercity. Must all of them be a few screws loose? Like Singed, exactly Singed. Viktor sighed at the thought of his former mentor.
"Anyway, back to the point, why are you here?" Jayce asked.
Jinx frowned, "I am here to hide a bit, I believe that they wouldn't think to find me here".
"So you are saying that you are going to live here and don't want us to report about you?" Jayce summarised.
"Exactly," Jinx agreed.
"And why should I do that? How did you even get in here, for that matter?," Jayce denied
"I will help you with your research. I would be an invaluable asset to the evolution of Hex Tech, and you know it. Furthermore, reporting that I am here would just get me to kill quickly again, and you wouldn't want that on your conscience. About how I get here, I walk," Jinx answered his questions aloofly.
She turned to Viktor and asked, "Can I have the rafter?"
"Sure, I just slept on the ground anyway," Viktor agreed in a strange understanding.
"Wait! I didn't agree to it," Jayce called out unhelpfully.
"Yes, whatever," Jinx dismissed his words.
Jayce's eyes twitched as he just wanted to shout to the sky.
"Goodbye. I am sleeping," Jinx said casually and jumped into a rafter with the nimbleness of a monkey, just like her namesake. Jayce squeezed his glabella as he nursed his headache.
"Why did you even agree with her?" He asked his new partner.
"Well, she knew what she was doing and like she said she would be valuable for our research," Viktor said before grimacing, "look, I know Vader, everybody in Undercity knows him, he controlled the lanes, he was someone who brought a little bit of order to the chaos down there and someone who could kill him isn't someone little girl like her shouldn't be facing".
Jayce just nodded in a frown. He didn't want her blood on his conscience.
"You sleep in here? I thought you lived in a dorm?" Jayce asked.
"Yes, but those Piltoven elites didn't want to share the same dorm with a Zaunite low-born," Viktor replied with a sigh. He would be indignant if not for the fact he had already expected that would happen.
"That was ridiculous! So you just sleep here?" Jayce asked in indignation for his friend. Viktor smiled.
"Don't worry, since I decided to come here, I was already ready for this," Viktor answered.
"This wouldn't do! I wouldn't let my friend just sleep like a homeless person. Let's go, you are coming with me to my flat," Jayce said and then he turned upward and shouted, "hey kid! Come down, I am going to give you a proper place to sleep".
Jayce and Viktor waited for a moment, but there was no movement. Jayce just sighed and gestured to Viktor to come with him.
"Come let go without her first. We will come back after we have finished searching for a house to accommodate all of us and buy the furniture," Jayce said and dragged Viktor.
Viktor struggled and said, "look, I don't think this is a good idea. Where would we even get the money for all this?"
At that, Jayce flashed the sponsored money they received from the council.
"That is the research money, I don't think it is a good ide-" before he could finish his word, he was dragged.
