Park was sat in the backseat of the car pointing a colt at the soldier while Blue was driving to the original HQ in the hopes of using that as an emergency base. As they pulled up into the HQ car park he noticed the place was practically deserted.
"Blue, does this place feel...wrong?" Park asked as Blue looked around.
"Feels like I'm walking round Chernobyl." Blue responded in a low tone. He parked the car and got out, hiding a colt in the waistline of his jeans. Park dragged the soldier out of the car. the three of them stood quiet for a moment, the silence was shattered by the sound of something falling on the floor in the distance, Blue could hear it the clearest thanks to his mutations.
The silence was deafening as Blue senses heightened in reaction to the silence, hoping to hear anything. there was nothing. Blue drew his pistol and readied it for anything, his heart pacing normally, for him this reminded him of his first hunt, for Park however this was like something out of a horror film. as they rounded the corner they noticed a figure hiding in the shadows, a trail of blood leading to them, they emerged from the shadows.
"Ciri?" Blue said as he embraced her, she was covered in blood but he didn't care.
"Th-they have them, all of the team, including Mum and Dad, the team members that survived that is. Blue, there was a woman with them. She spoke Russian. She was looking for Price." Ciri said as Blue ran to Prices office to look for clues.
"Sis, any idea's why they wanted him?" Blue asked as Park dragged the enemy soldier to the old containment cells.
"No, but she mentioned someone who we both know." Ciri said, she didn't need to say the name, Park returned and didn't need to know who Ciri meant. Blue's face dropped.
"No. No, no, no." Blue began to mumble to himself as he tried to comprehend how someone knew the information their enemy possessed.
"Blue-"
"How long ago did they leave?" Blue growled as Park was knocked off balance by Blue acting how he was, she'd only ever known him to be calm and composed under the highest levels of stress, at least in public, but he was here acting rashly out in the open and she knew the reason why.
"25 to 30 minutes ago." Ciri hadn't finished speaking before Blue had opened a portal and walked through it.
"Blue!" Park said attempting to run after him before Ciri stopped her.
"Trust me, you don't want to be there for this." Ciri said as Park looked into her emerald-green eyes, able to tell that Ciri was being completely serious.
"Will he be okay?" Park asked as Ciri cocked her eyebrow.
"Likely." Ciri said coldly as she took Park to the HQ's old bar.
Beauclair palace, Toussaint, Witcher reality:
Blue appeared in the courtyard of the palace, his pistol at the ready as he began to move in through the entrance, he wasn't just being cautious, he was completely invested in the mission. gunfire sounded throughout the city of Beauclair as the invading force swept through the duchy of Toussaint. Blue heard footsteps from down the corridor to, a few moments later a knight appeared, wearing gold armor. he was one of the ducal guard.
"Blue?!" the knight said as he rushed to Blue.
"Palmerin, where is she?" Blue asked, his downright disregard for everything else concerning Palmerin.
"She's trapped in the underground tunnels she had made for you."
Blue began to leave as Palmerin followed him for a few paces before handing him a Witcher's sword.
"It's made of one of the strongest metals known, infused with silver, meaning it's capable of acting as both a steel and silver sword. Put it to good use." Palmerin said as Blue gave an affirming nod.
the two of them split up, Palmerin headed off to try and get backup while Blue ran off in the direction of the tunnel entrance, the sword in the scabbard it came in, the straps on the scabbard were made so that it could be worn on the users back. The tunnels were flooded with the bodies of dead guards and attackers. Proceeding carefully Blue made his way through the tunnels, checking his corners as he got closer and closer to the gunfire.
As he reached the source of the gunfire he spotted Anna Henrietta stuck behind cover using a fallen attackers gun to hold off. Blue looked at the ceiling to see one light was illuminating the room, he used a cat potion to allow him to see in the darkness and then extinguished the light. the attackers used night vision goggles, only to see that one by one they were being picked off, the terror got to the point that the final attacker fainted of sheer fright. Blue used igni to restart the candle light that illuminated the room, as the light shone on his face Anna looked at him, she could tell that this wasn't the same Blue she knew when they were both young. she looked at him seeing the young kind and caring boy gone, in their place was the broken shell of her former love. She had planned what she would do were they ever to cross paths again, but he plans had just left, she hated him for leaving but now she felt sympathy toward the man she looked upon. noticing the wedding ring on his finger she found some relief that Blue had at least found someone to help him through whatever he was going through. Anna began to analyse Blue noting three new scars in what little parts of him were visible, his eyes looked heavy with memories that haunted his sleep.
Anna's beauty was still as radiant as Blue remembered. Her dirty blonde colored hair flowing and her blue eyes were helped by the practical yet still flamboyant armor she was wearing. She looked around the same age as Blue, if not a few months older.
"Hey." Blue said, his voice full of shame, like he felt unworthy to talk to her after what he'd done to her life.
"Blue? I see you're still alive, and married." Anna said as Blue could feel the tension swell in the room and his long lost feeling of awkwardness return.
"Yeah, long story. Anna we need to evacuate the city somewhere that these people don't think you have access to." Blue said as Anna regained her formal and lady like composure.
"Of course, I assume you have a suggestion?" Anna asked as Blue nodded.
"I have a HQ in another reality, from there we can group them up and send them to safe houses across the world. they'll be safe until this is over." Blue said as he tried to look confident.
"Do you remember what I said when you left Toussaint?"
"You threatened to have my...you weren't pleased, let's leave it at that." Blue said, fidgeting nervously.
"That will be in force when all this is done, you get this time for free considering you just saved my life again." Anna said as Blue humbly nodded.
"Let's go then." Blue said as he and Anna ran back to the palace courtyard and opened a large portal to the HQ private hangar. it was clear of vehicles as they had been move to the new base of operations. Anna sent knights out to gather civilians to evacuate. the evacuation took hours, Helen had stepped through to help with the evacuation by coordinating people. She looked over to see Blue beginning to weaken from sustaining the portal for so long. As Park took a break to collect herself Anna sat down next to her.
"You're her...Anarietta." Park said in disbelief at finally meeting Anna.
"You've heard of me?" Anna said in surprise.
"A bit, he still has a picture of you, he used to have it in his office until we retired." Park said calmly, trying to avoid making the situation awkward by talking about her relationship.
"Yes well, he certainly can be sentimental when he wants to be can't he?" Anna said, the two of them laughed between themselves at a memory of Blue Anna shared.
"Poetry? are we talking about the same Blue, the only time I can see that happening is if it involved a lot of smart arse comments."
"Oh I know, the sarcasm was cute but unbearable sometimes." Anna laughed. "Does he still stay up late after an argument sitting alone drinking?"
"Oh bloody hell yes! Coffee or if it's a really bad argument and he knows he's really in the dog house, Whisky." Park snickered as she took a small sip from her canteen.
"Has he done that thing, he'll just wake up in the middle of the night, walk about the place muttering to himself and then go back to sleep." Anna said as Park gasped.
"He used to sleepwalk? He's never done it with me."
"have you met his mother?" Anna said calmly.
"which one?" Park said as Anna's face lit up.
"Yennefer of course. His real one's dead." Anna said in a tone that showed she was confused by Parks question.
"She's not, she's been alive all this time, Blue didn't know, he thought she had been killed but she managed to survive, he only found out a few months ago." Park answered as she glanced over to see Blue struggling. His eyes were closing like the prolonged use of his power was draining him of energy. He fell to one knee, causing the two women to rush over to him, he was out on his feet. "He needs to rest, is there somewhere we can put him?"
"The royal bedroom come." Anna said as Palmerin helped Park carry Blue to the royal bedroom, laying him down on the bed. Park nodded, asking if she could be left with him alone, Anna and Palmerin understood and left Park alone with Blue.
