Bonded By Love-Ch 2
Over the next few days Penelope was admitted to the hospital again and of course her brothers didn't leave her side. She was getting weaker and was spending most of the day sleeping.
Patrick looked at his sister and said, "why haven't we heard anything, what's taking so long to find a donor"?, Paul said, "their is a chance that we might not find a donor and sadly it's time that we face that chance".
Payton stood up and walked to the window and turned around and said, "that isn't an acceptable outcome, we can't lose her, we can't lose our sister". Paxton said, "she keeps getting weaker and weaker, what else can we do"?, Paul said, "I'll go talk with Sophie and see if she's heard anything from the donor registry".
Payton looked at his sister and his heart broke, she was laying there hooked up to IVs to keep her hydrated, she looked so frail, weak and pale. Paxton said, "she's a fighter, she'll give it all she's got, you know that, right Pay"?, Payton nodded his head and said, "I know, I know".
Meanwhile back in Virginia the BAU was just returning from a case, they had been away for over a week and were glad to be back home. They had finished their paperwork and was heading toward the elevator so that they could head home and get some much needed and wanted rest.
Reid blew out a deep breath as they stepped onto the elevator, he said, "I didn't think this last case was ever going to end". Dave said, "me either kid, me either, he was definitely a slick one".
JJ said, "he was a real piece of work, kidnapping all of those kids and selling them how sickening can you get"?, Emily said, "sadly he was really sick but now he's in jail where he belongs and now he can't hurt anybody else, not now, not ever".
Hotch leaned against the back wall of the elevator and said, "I'm just glad that we have the next few days off and I plan on enjoying it". Emily sighed and said, "me too, nothing like relaxing with your family" as they all stepped off of the elevator and headed toward their cars.
In California Penelopes brothers were still sitting by her side, they had talked to Sophie and she said that their wasn't any news from the registry. Paul put his hand on Penelopes and said, "hang on P, please hang on".
Paxton rested his arms on his legs and said, "I just know that their is somebody out there that can help her, we just need to find them". Payton said, "and we need to do it before it's too late".
Sophie ran into the room and said, "we've found a donor", the men all jumped up and Payton said, "you did, that's great". Sophie said, "it's not a perfect match but it should help for a while".
Payton said, "for a while, you mean she'll have to go through all this pain again"?, Sophie said, "this match will help her, if she doesn't get the bone marrow soon she'll die, this transplant is her only chance".
Paul said, "if it won't help her long, what happens if her body rejects the marrow, what if it doesn't work, we can't lose her, we can't lose our sister". Sophie opened her mouth to speak and her words were cut off by the sound of her cell ringing.
She pulled her cell from her pocket and said, "I have to take this" and ran from the room, leaving behind the four brothers. Paxton said, "I wonder what that was about"?, Patrick said, "if we're lucky it's another donor, one that will be able to help P".
Derek was getting ready to lay down when his cell started ringing, he sighed and picked up his cell and not recognizing the number hit talk and said, "hello". The voice on the other end of the line said, "is this Derek Morgan"?, he said, "it is".
She said, "great, I'm Dalia Fraker and I'm with the bone marrow registry, the reason I'm calling is that you are a match for Penelope Garcia". Derek said, "I am, that's great news" and Dalia said, "yes it is sir and the reason that I'm calling you so quickly is that Ms. Garcia is getting weaker and weaker and she needs the bone marrow transplant as soon as possible".
Derek said, "okay, just tell me when and where you need me", Dalia said, "great, just come to the Newfield Airport in California and I'll have a representative of our organization meet you".
Dalia said, "thank you so much for agreeing to come so fast", Derek said, "I'm just glad that I can help her, I'll pack and get there as soon as possible". Dalia said, "safe travels Mr. Morgan, safe travels" and the call ended.
In California, Sophie walked back into the room and the brothers looked at her as she smiled and said, "we have another match, a perfect match". Payton said, "that's wonderful, does he or she know"?, Sophie said, "he does and he's packing right now and he'll be here soon".
Paxton said, "how long will it take him to get here and when can the operation start"?, Sophie said, "it will take him a few hours and then we can start after he gets here". The brothers looked at each other and smiled as they realized that help for their dying sister was on the way.
