-Coulson gets ready, holds the bat up, the whole stadium holds their breath as the batter decisively waits for the pitch… and YES! YES! That's a homerun! Coulson sends the ball off to another State and puts the season in the team's pocket! Yes! Got get that name in the Hall of Fame! Woooohooo!-

Melinda May's lips twitched up listening to her husband dramatic narrations and the incessant amount of baby giggles. She lifted her gaze from her laptop to find Phil holding their daughter high in the air as he spins cheering for her, and the smile in her lips widened.

They were in their favorite tree in the park, where they had met all those years ago. Daisy could barely stand, not yet walking, but to Phil she was the one hanging the stars at night. They were playing with a plush ball and a tiny bat, which were long forgotten in the grass. Though Daisy had no idea what she had done, Phil had declared her the absolute winner of his heart.

Sitting their baby on his arm, Phil covered her cheeks with kisses, getting happy squeals in return. May softly chuckled. It melted her heart seeing them spending time together. Daisy adored her father, and Phil's whole world circled around that baby girl's eyes.

She continued to write, taking peeks at them as they had their fun. Phil had squatted and was supporting a wobbly Daisy as he taught her how to throw the ball. He had tied it to his wrist with elastic rope, so he didn't have to get up to pick it up for Daisy to throw again.

They were the treasured pearls of her heart. They filled her with joy and love, and though she could face a writer's block from time to time, they were her infinite source of inspiration.

She was putting her laptop away, just about to call them to go home, when Phil's back appeared blocking her view. May laughed, she hadn't heard them coming. She surrounded Phil's torso, pulling him to her and hugging him tightly from behind. She placed her chin in his shoulder, watching their baby in his arms.

-Mah!- Daisy babbled, clumsily nuzzling her tiny nose to hers.

-Did you have fun with daddy, baby girl? I heard you laughing and giggling and I love it!- she said, tickling the baby's belly and eliciting loud happy chuckles.

-She's entering the Hall of Fame, honey, I'm sure of it.- Phil told her, his blue eyes full of pride.

-We should get her a cap that fits then, sweetheart.- May answered, kissing his cheek sweetly.

-Were you able to get some lines in there?- Phil asked her, intertwining his fingers with the hand she had over his chest and pulling it up to kiss the inner side of her wrist.

-Yep.- she said, caressing his side up and down with her thumb.

-Are you gonna let me read what you have so far? I've been waiting for weeks.- he pleaded pitifully, and it made her smirk.

-No.- she said evilly.

-May!- Phil whined.- how could you be so cruel? I'm in it, I know, I saw your notes.-

-Nobody told you to read them, Mister Snoop.- May smiled at Daisy and brushed the little curls out of the baby's eyes.

-You left them on the couch! I need to make sure you keep me in character now. The spy who has a double life as a baseball player must be dashing.-

-Your character will be perfect, I'll make sure of it.- May said, pressing a kiss in his temple.

-Maybe I can try to change your mind after Daisy is down tonight? You know how persuasive I can be.- Phil teasingly turned and placed a lingering kiss in a special spot under her jaw.

-You are very welcome to try, but I'm still not letting you read until it's finished.-

-We'll see.- Phil said grinning.

May tightened her embrace around him for a second, and sweetly lingered a kiss on his cheek.

-We should get going, honey. We have to be at the hospital at 6pm.- May patted his hip to try to urge him to stand.

-Okay, okay; I'm going up.- Phil said.- I can't wait to get into that Grinch custom-

May rolled her eyes and smiled. They were enacting How the Grinch stole Christmas again. It had been such a big hit on December that the kids had asked for it even if it was the middle of July. They would not deny them such a request, no matter the season.

Phil and May had made a habit of hosting a story telling show once a month for patients in the Pediatrics wing. Sometimes they read from books or she'd write fairy tales for the occasion, sometimes they'd narrate stories through drawings. But, there were other days were they went higher and mounted a full play.

Few years ago, when Jonah had been ten and sick, they had toured the hospital for the first time and the storytelling had been very well received. The families and patients had been so grateful that they decided to make it a permanent tradition. It was a nice way to help.

So now, packing everything up, they started making the way back to their apartment to get ready. Daisy was now in her arms and Phil had softly placed his hand on the small of her back. May smiled as she turned slightly to look at her husband. Tip toeing, she kissed his cheek thinking what a dramatic change this all was compared to the rough spot she had been in a few years back. She loved the life she led now: a job she enjoyed, a daughter she adored and a husband who always made her feel cared for and validated.
