Bonded By Love-Ch 8
The day had finally arrived that Derek was going to be released and it was hard to say who was happier about it him or his mom and sisters. As he climbed into the wheelchair he looked up to see Patrick and Paul walk into the room smiling.
Derek said, "hey you two, what's up, any news on Penelope"?, Paul said, "she's doing great and at this rate we will get to see her even sooner than they thought". Derek grinned at them and said, "that's great, I'm so glad to hear that" and Patrick said, "you ready to blow this joint" causing the others to laugh and nod their heads as Derek said, "sure am, let's goooooo".
A few minutes later as they were walking out the front door of the hospital Derek sighed and looked back up at the window where he believed Penelope was and whispered, "I'll see you soon baby girl, I'll see you soon".
Back up in her hospital room Penelope sighed happily because she knew that Derek and the others were going to be staying with them. She remembered that Payton had told her that Derek was suppose to be released today and she blew out a deep breath hoping that soon, very soon she'd be able to join them.
She knew that going home was still a while away but that she would be able to get visitors soon and that meant that Derek would be coming. Penelope bit down on bottom lip and said, "calm down Garcie, you just met him once", she closed her eyes and laid her head back and said, "even thoughhhhh, he did seem quite amazing".
She was pulled from her thoughts when the nurse walked into the room and said, "how are you feeling Penelope"?, she said, "great and I can't wait to get out of here". The nurse laughed and said, "that's understandable, nobody likes staying in the hospital" and Penelope said, "ain't that the truth" and both women laughed.
Meanwhile the car was pulling up in front of the Garcia house and as Derek got out he looked up and said, "wowwwww, this place is amazing". Patrick said, "well their were me, the other three brothers and Penelope living here and before that mom and dad were here but they were killed when Penelope was 18".
Derek said, "I'm so sorry, I understand what it's like to lose a parent, I lost my dad when I was 9 years old but thankfully I still have my mom and sisters". Paul said, "we still have each other and P but I won't lie it's pretty rough, especially for me, I'm the youngest I was only like 12 when they died".
Derek listened as Paul said, "so P then became more of a mom for me, she was always trying to take care of me, well not only me but all of us". Derek grinned and said, "she seems like an amazing person", Patrick said, "she's one of a kind" and their conversation stopped as Henry and Jack ran out of the house squealing, "UNCLE DEREK, UNCLE DEREK",
Reid said, "be easy with uncle Derek, he's still recovering", Derek said, "I'm fine pretty boy", he then looked down at the two little boys and said, "how are you two doing, are you having fun"?, the two little boys nodded their heads and said, "YEP" in unison as they all started heading up the sidewalk that led to the porch steps.
When Derek walked through the front door he was practically smothered by his mom and sisters as they all wrapped him in their arms in a group hug. Derek said, "easy guys don't break me, I just got out of the hospital remember"?, causing the women to grin as they pulled away.
Payton walked into the room and said, "I hope your hungry because your mom has prepared enough food to feed a small army". Dave said, "this is how Bella always cooks, she doesn't want anybody to walk away from her table hungry".
Fran said, "that's right, now come on baby boy, let's get some good food in you, I'm sure you're ready for it since you've been in the hospital all of this time". Derek said, "lead the way momma, lead the way" as they all headed through the Garcia house so they could share their first meal together.
