Bonded By Love-Ch 9
After enjoying a delicious meal with everybody Payton got out family photos and they all spent the next several hours laughing and listening to old family stories. Derek got a kick out of listening to the stories that the brothers were telling and couldn't help but laugh as his mom, sisters and the team started telling stories of their own.
Desi and Sarah repeated in great detail the time that Derek almost destroyed their kitchen with helping cook one evening when he was 7 years old. Derek said, 'I was only 7, I didn't mean to do it", Fran said, "it's okay sweetie, nobody got hurt and the fire department got the fire out pretty quick".
Desi laughed and said, "we still get Christmas cards from the firemen that came that day", Derek said, "it's not like you've never done anything wrong before Des". Sarah said, "yeah, what about that time when you broke poor Tommy Bakers heart"?, Paul said, "ahhhhh, a broken heart, that doesn't sound good".
Derek said, "she was 10 and he was 8 and he thought the sun rose and set because of her and it broke his heart when she started talking to another boy". Paul said, "I can understand why he was hurt, she's beautiful, i can see him getting totally swept up in her beauty".
Desi said, "thank you Paul", he grinned and said, "any time Desi", Sarah said, "soooooo are any of you married or dating anybody"?, Fran said, "Sarahhhhhh". Payton laughed and said, "it's okay Fran, no, none of us are married or dating, we've always been to busy".
Patrick said, "and we haven't met Ms. Right yet either", Paul sighed and looked longingly at Desi and said, "what about you guys"?, Hotch said, "I'm married to Emily and Spencer is married to JJ and Dave and Fran are married but the rest are single and ready to mingle" causing everybody to laugh.
Derek laughed and said, "ready to mingle huh old man", Henry crawled up in Dereks lap and said, "uncle Derek what's mingle mean"?, Derek said, "well that means that I'm ready to find somebody and fall in love" and the little boy said, "oh, okay" and laid his head down on Dereks chest.
JJ said, "sweetie are you sleepy"?, Henry shook his head and said, ,"nope" and everybody laughed as not only him but Jack both started yawning. Derek stood up and said, "why don't the three of us go lay down for a while and rest"?, Jack said, "since you're tiwerd uncle Derek we'll go lay with you",
Henry nodded his head as he took Dereks hand and said, "yeah, we'll go lay down wif you", JJ and Emily looked at him and said, "are you sure, because we can take them". Derek shook his head and said, "it's okay, it's been a long day and I didn't realize how tired I was".
Fran said, "good night sweet heart", he smiled and said, "good night ma, good night everybody" and everybody smiled and said, "good night" in unison as they watched the trio walk away. Payton said, "he's not use to not doing anything is he"?, Dave said, "you have no idea, he's always busy, always doing something and not being able to is wearing him out".
Patrick said, "I'd be the same way" and Fran said, "he's always been a hard worker and he's good at his job, he loves helping people so being down right now is indeed very hard on him". Paul said, "P is the same way, she's always busy but when she got sick she had no energy, it really scared us all, we were so afraid that we would lose her".
Fran put her hand on the younger mans hand and said, "that's totally understandable sweetie, nobody wants to lose somebody that they love". Payton said, "truer words have ever been spoken Fran" causing everybody to grin and nod their heads yes in agreement,
Everybody talked for another hour or more before getting up and heading inside, JJ and Emily walked to Dereks room and peeped inside and couldn't help but grin at what they saw. They pulled out their cell phones and snapped a few pictures of the trio laying all snuggled up together.
Emily said, "now this is an adorable picture", JJ smiled and said, "that it is Em, that it is" as she snapped one final picture before following Emily on up the hall toward their rooms.
