Bonded By Love-Ch 11
Derek and Penelope sat laughing and talking for a few minutes before she said, "so I guess you'll be heading back home soon, huh"?, he nodded his head and said, "yeah, in a few days, right now we're all on stand down", she bit down on her bottom lip and sighed.
He leaned forward and gently put his hand on hers and said, "their is something that I'd like to talk to you about, if that's okay"?, she looked into his eyes and said, "sure Derek". Derek took a deep breath and said, "while I'm here I'd like to spend as much time with you as possible so that I can get to know you better".
She grinned and said, "I like that idea", he gently squeezed her hand and said, "good because I'd also like to try maybe, possibly dating if everything works out". Penelope said, "but how would that work with me here in California and you in Virginia"?, Derek said, "why don't we take things slow and get to know each other over the next few days and see where things go".
Penelope said, "I like the sound of that", Derek smiled and said, "good because I really want to get to know you better", she said, "I would also like to get to know you better". Derek said, "what do you want to know"?, she winked at him and said, "everything that you want to tell me" and he said, "alright" and they then spent the next little while filling each other in on their lives.
Their attention was pulled to the door some time later when they heard Payton say, "so how's everything going in here you two, everything okay"?, Penelope intertwined fingers with Derek and said, "everything is amazing Pay, simply amazing" causing her brothers to all look at each other and grin.
Derek said, "we've decided that we're going to spend some time getting to know each other while I'm here and then see where things go". Paul said, "meaningggggg"? and Penelope laughed and said, "possibly dating is what that means" and the brothers all nodded their heads and said, "ahhhhhh" in unison.
Penelope looked at Derek as he said, "my team, mom and sisters would like to come and see you before we head home in a few days, would that be okay"?, she said, "of course, I'd love to meet all of them". Derek said, "and they would all love to meet you to baby girl" and Patrick said, "baby girl"?, Penelope said, "that's one of the nicknames he has for me".
Paul said, "one of them"?, Derek said, "yep, one of them and she has some for me too", Penelope said, "hotstuff, angel fish, sugar shack and that's only three". Peter laughed and said, "please don't tell us any more of them" and Penelope stuck out her tongue and said, "be good to me Pete, I've had a rough few weeks".
Peter kissed her gently on the top of the head and said, "I know you honey, I know" and Paul said, "when we get you home, you're going to follow doctors orders and get some rest", Penelope opened her mouth to argue and Derek gently squeezed her hand and said, "they're right sweetness, you need to rest, you're body has been through a lot and needs time to heal".
Penelope nodded her head and said, "alright, alright, I give, I'll be good when I go home", Derek winked at her and said, "that's my girl" causing the brothers to look at each other and grin knowing that the man in front of them was quickly falling in love with their sister.
