Blue woke up in his and Parks quarters, he looked around to see a young man sat next to him wearing Blue's old dog tags and his ring. As Blue looked for Helen he notice get well soon cards off Adler and Hudson. Something felt off, Blue knew Adler and Hudson would both rather die than send him a card. When he sat up in the bed the young man moved to assist him only for Blue to flinch, not knowing what was going on.
"Who are you, where's Helen?" Blue said as he moved off the bed.
"Dad, it's me David." The man said as Blue shook his head.
"Bullshit, David's just a baby."
"No, Dad, that was when you last saw me and mum. That was over 25 years ago." the man said as Blue shook his head in disbelief.
"Where's Helen?" Blue snapped.
"Dad calm down!" The man said as Blue sprinted out of the room and to where the team was residing when he left.
"Anyone here, Adler, Woods, Mason?!" Blue called out, behind him he heard a group of people moving up behind him, as Blue turned he saw people he knew only from comics.
"Blue, my name's Natasha, you've been in a coma for 25 years-"
"Your a Black Widow, the Black Widow, thought Lovanya was dead." Blue said in a panicked state as Natasha dismissed the rest of the group.
"Can you guys give us a minute?" Natasha said as she gave a sorrowful smile. "Look, I get your caution, but it's true, you've been unconscious for 25 years. I'm not here to kill you."
"Where. Is. Park?" Blue growled.
"Sit down."
Blue sat down, suddenly realizing something was wrong.
"Helen Park, she's been M.I.A for over three years, she was leading a squad to attack a HYDRA facility and was captured, every time we're close to finding her they move her around, her and the rest of your squad, all of them were killed or captured. David was wounded on the op but managed to escape."
"So, we can rescue them can't we?" Blue said as he stood up and saw all of the Avengers gathering around as he looked to Natasha.
"legally, we can't enter the country they're suspected to be holding her in." Rogers said as Blue looked at him.
"You can't, I can-"
"You'll die on your own!"
"Then I'll see you in hell!" Blue said as he stormed to the armory, it had received a few updates since he was lat there, over his shoulder he heard Natasha approaching, she stood next to him and readied her equipment. "What're you doing?"
"I'm coming with you. A while ago a fellow Black Widow told me if I needed help to ask you, that goes both ways."
"Who was it?"
"Blovinka, you know they all wanted to go to the ather to save you. She and Park being the most eager." Natasha said as David walked in.
"Dad, are you alright?"
"Natasha, could you give us a minute?"
"Sure, just call me Nat by the way." She said warmly as she left the room.
"My boy, you're all grown up, and I missed it all...all the birthdays, everything."
"You know, for a while I was mad that you left but mum wasn't, she always kept saying that you had left to ensure I was safe, I didn't believe her until they pulled you out of that place. All that time she was telling the truth, making sure that I never grew up hating you."
"David I wish there was a way for me to have been there-"
"It's not your fault dad, you did it to make sure me and mum were safe."
"What about your auntie Cirilla?" Blue asked as he and David embraced.
"She's with mum, her and uncle Adler-"
"Uncle Adler? Jesus Christ, well, I suppose it's better than Hudson." Blue said as he began to wonder what else had happened while he was gone.
"Yeah, he and Aunt Blovinka where dating before they were captured."
"I'm out of it and everyone loses their minds." Blue muttered to himself as David laughed.
"Heard that you know, your Witcher mutations passed on to me."
"Wow. So, you coming with me and Nat or staying here?" Blue said as he grabbed an M4A1 and attached it to a sling before pulling a Glock 17 pistol out and holstering it in a holster on his thigh.
"Yeah, can you pass me the MP5?" David said as Blue handed him the gun.
"So, you and your mum joined SHIELD?" Blue asked calmly as he sat down and counted his magazines.
"Yeah, Mum joined up when I was around ten, I joined up, to mum's reluctance, at eighteen. We're part of a special section of teams sent in with the Avengers to assist them in their work."
"anything big happened recently?"
"I'll catch you up when your with mum, for now let's just get into Siberia." Blue said calmly as he left the armory with Nat an David following him. They got into a shield Quinjet and flew off, heading for Siberia.
12 hours later:
"Seriously, last chance for both of you to pull out, going rogue isn't easy."
"You're not getting rid of us that easy Blue." Nat said as she put the jet into auto pilot.
"Okay then, plan is we each jump out at separate areas of the facility, work through and find the team, rules of engagement are that there are none, get ready." Blue said as he grabbed a parachute and opened the ramp at the rear of the jet.
"Dad...be careful." David said as Blue nodded and jumped out onto the south-east corner of the facility.
800m up from his landing point he opened his parachute and began the slow descent. As he drew closer to the landing point he used his M4 to kill off three Hydra guards before he touched down on the roof.
"This is Blue, touch down confirmed, sit-rep?"
"Nat here, Just landed on the south west area of the building."
"and I've just hit the north area, heading in now." David said.
"Copy that, happy hunting." Blue said as he too moved in, his M4 at the ready for any hostile activity.
HYDRA Prison Cell, South East area of Siberian HYDRA facility:
Adler, Blovinka, Park, Portnova and Maxis were in separate rooms, beaten and injured, Park had suffered the brunt of the torture, resulting in Adler and the rest of the team not knowing what was happening in her cell due to her not speaking for days.
"Yirina, are you okay?" Maxis called through the wall as Adler coughed.
"Better now that I've heard a friendly voice. Have you heard anything from Park?"
"Nein, nothing yet."
"Hey honey, you alright in there?" Blovinka heard Adler say in the neighboring cell
"Yes, Maxis heard from Park?"
"Nothing yet. If Blue's out there then we won't be here much longer."
"Adler, I think we both know that's wishful thinking."
"Speak for yourself." Adler said as an explosion sounded through out the facility. Alarms began to sound followed by the sound of distant gunfire.
Meanwhile Blue was running through the facility killing off guards with ease, wiping out an entire barracks before swapping to his Glock and fighting his way through the claustrophobic corridors. He arrived in what looked like a cell block, he looked through the door to see Park lying on the floor with her eyes closed, her face was green and her eyes looked like she hadn't slept for weeks.
Blue found the controls and opened Parks cell, picking her up and laying her down next to the console.
"Nat, David, I've found them. Adler, Blovinka, Park, Maxis and Portnova, they're here, any luck on the rest?" Blue said over the comms as he released the rest of the squad. each of them left their cell and picked up a weapon from the dead nearby guards. "C'mon, let's rendezvous with the rest of the team."
Blue handed Blovinka his pistol and picked Park up, taking point and leading his squad through the facility.
"Is Park-"
"no!" Blue snapped as he kicked a door down.
"Blue, I've found Price, Ciri and Lazar." Nat said over the comms.
"Copy that move to rendezvous with David." Blue said as he heard footsteps behind the team. "On our six."
Adler and Blovinka turned and gunned down the enemy guards, Adler ran up next to Blue.
"Let me carry her, you keep us covered." Adler said, Blue handed Park over to Adler and took an AK from him. As they walked down the corridors they found a medical room.
"Put her in that scanner, find out what's done this to her and if we can fix it on the spot, we need as many guns as we can get." Blue said as he and the rest of the squad secured the perimeter of the room. Adler worked the scanner.
A few moments later the scanner came up with the results.
"Sir, she's been injected with too much sedative."
"Flush her system then, we need her up and ready to fight." Blue said as he heard footsteps on the other side of the door, he opened it and lit up the door way before shutting and shooting the control panel.
"Five minutes." Adler said as Blue saw the guards shadows on the floor, they were racking up on the other side of the wall, ready to breach the door, Blue swiftly loaded his AK and lit up the wall, not stopping until the magazine was empty.
"Blovinka, find us another way out of this room." Blue said as he reloaded.
Blovinka checked the room and found a secret door behind the medical cabinet.
"Really leaning into their evil Nazi stereotypes aren't they, mad scientists and secret doors, all we need is a race to uncover the lost ark of the covenant and me in a fedora." Blue said as he knelt on one knee facing the door as it was about to be breached.
"almost, there, she's cleaned up, should wake up any minute." Adler said as Blue tossed him the AK.
"We need to move now, I'll carry her till she wakes up all of you move now." Blue said as he tapped a screen on his wrist. "JARVIS, I need a layout of this place, tell us where this passage leads."
"Sir, this passage leads to the courtyard where the helicopters are fueled-"
"Good to know, Nat, meet up in the courtyard, I've found a way out, David same for you, finish up getting your people and meet at the courtyard!" Blue said as he looked for a fueled chopper.
"On it, Blue you got hostiles heading your way." Nat said as she noticed soldiers rushing off in the direction of the courtyard.
"Blue, we got a job to do." Blue's head went numb and he fell to the floor. Park was in her hands and knee's, coughing as she threw up, she grabbed an AN-94 and provided cover for the squad who were performing the pre-flight checks on the chopper.
"Sir it appears a nuclear warhead has being readied for launch at this very base." JARVIS said as Blue shook his head and got back to his feet.
"Where?" Blue asked as a 3D map of the facility appeared in front of him.
"The would appear to be a subsection underneath the facility that leads to a missile silo approximately one mile north of here." JARVIS responded as Blue grabbed a rifle from a dead guard.
"All of you onto the chopper, JARVIS, how long will it take me to get to silo, stop the nuke and back here?"
"my estimate would be ten minutes sir."
"Okay, if I'm not back in 10 minutes and everyone else is on board you go without me, David where are you?"
"On my way there with Gaz."
Blue ran off, using the directions on his HUD to get to the entrance of the substation. As an unaware guard opened the door Blue shot them in the face, following it up by gunning down the oncoming wave of guards before looting the ammo off of their bodies and reloading his gun, rushing onto the small rail car JARVIS had marked for him, hitting the accelerator button caused the cart to fire off in the direction of the silo.
Meanwhile, David and his squad had arrived at the chopper, he continued the pre-flight check.
Nat was tearing up the HYDRA guards like paper, she had practically eviscerated half of the enemy force, most of the team were amazed by her skills as a fighter. She ran down a hallway, sliding between two groups of enemies and fired her dual glock 17 pistols into the crowd and throwing a small knife into the eye socket of an oncoming final guard, as she recovered the knife Nat heard more guards approaching. She ran at the first attacker and used he bracers to electrocute him before jumping onto him and vaulting over him, using her glock's to kill of the remainder of the enemies. Nat signaled for her squad to follow her, they done so without hesitation.
Blue was on the other side of the facility, riding the cart to the silo, his left hand holding onto a rail his right held an AK-74U.
His Walkman was playing 'Don't want to miss a thing by Aerosmith' as he arrived at the silo, greeted by the now official HYDRA welcoming committee, dived from the still moving cart and behind a metal container, blind firing from behind his cover, realising he was out of bullets Blue threw the gun away, drawing his knife and feeling the rumble of the missile about to take off, without hesitation Blue ran past an explosives crate, snatching a frag grenade and throwing at the enemies before using their panic to sprint past them and to the missile, jumping onto the missile as it took off, Blue climbed the nuke even as it was flying.
"JARVIS, talk to me. How do I disable this thing?" Blue said as a 3D diagram of the nuke came up, it showed a hatch. "This one?"
"That's one of them yes sir."
"Okay, what wire is it?"
"The third one starting from the left sir."
Blue used his knife to pry the hatch cover off and cut the designated wire.
"That it right?"
"No, two more hatches sir."
"WHAT! Alright, where's the next one?" Blue said as he began to climb, as did the missile.
"second wire starting from the left now sir"
Blue repeated the process and cut the designated wire.
"Blue, where are you?! What is that sound? Are those rocket thrusters?" Helen snapped over the comms.
"No they're...Tony's iron man boots, I borrowed them." Blue said shakily.
"You're riding on that nuke aren't you?" Nat interrupted as Blue silently cursed.
"JARVIS, where's the last hatch?" Blue asked as he kept climbing the nuke.
"Just before the point of the missile sir, it's all of the wires now sir." JARVIS said as Blue took the knife out and used it to pry the final hatch open, the force the wind knocked the knife from Blue's hands.
"Fuck it!" Blue said to himself as he used his bare hands to rip the wires out at the same time, before he had time to think of an escape method he was grabbed by something, as he looked around he saw Thor, God of Thunder, carrying him. "Please don't tell anyone you carried me in your arms to safety."
"Oh we can see it just fine." Park laughed over the comms.
"Fuck...I'm never hearing the end of this am I?
"Not if we have anything to say about it!" Adler laughed.
"Dying would have been better than the shame I'm about to experience." Blue said as he was planted feet first onto the ground next to the chopper. "Thanks Thor."
"c'mon, let's get out of here fast!" Nat said as she dove into the pilot's seat, taking off and flying for the Avengers tower.
Waiting for them were military officials who were likely there to try and cover their own arses. Blue and his team recognized a few key faces among the crowd, Richthofen and Emmerson Black. Blues hand immediately fell to his side, ready to draw his pistol if the need arose.
"relax, if they try anything, I'll stop them, perks to being an Avenger." Nat whispered into Blue's ear, Park too was on edge.
"Mr Blue, Ms Maxis, you're coming with us-"
"No they're not Agent, they're with us." Rogers said from the back of the crowd.
"Sir, this man and his mother are-"
"Son, just...don't." Steve said as he gestured for the team to go with him.
That night at the Avengers tower both teams gathered around, well, most of them were. Blue and Park were 'catching up' after 25 years of being apart.
"Whilst the lovebirds are at it in their quarters can we get this meeting over and done with, Blue already gave us his answer." Tony said.
"we should really wait for Blue to tell the squad." Nat said as the door opened.
"You won't have to wait long." Blue said as he walked in alone. "People in my team, we are linking with the Avengers, we're going to be backup for them, and running our own ops. There are threats out there that will require us to assist our super allies, there are some that we must face alone, from now on we are STRIKE team Delta."
"Who is in command of us?" Adler said, Blue noticed he hadn't aged a day, when he thought about it, neither had Park.
"Me, I'm in command of us, and the Avengers are in charge of me, basically I'm boss unless ordered by one of our super brethren." Blue said as he gestured for Adler to follow him to the side for a quiet conversation. "How the hell haven't you or Park aged a day?"
"Just after you had left Park and I were taken by HYDRA, caught me and Park, they injected us with something and since then I've been capable of the same combat ability of Rogers."
"What! Okay, whatever you do, don't tell anyone about this, especially Steve." Blue whispered, Adler simply nodded.
As the two rejoined the group Blue looked to Cap and nodded for him to take over. Blue left the room and headed for his quarters.
Park was lying on the bed naked, she too hadn't aged a day, Blue wasn't about to complain, after all he would likely age slower than anyone they knew. As he climbed into the next to her, pulling the bed sheets over them as Park wrapped her arms around him.
"So much for retiring." Blue said, earning a chuckle from Park.
"yes well, at least now we're both back to what we know, eh love."
"Yeah, Park, I need to tell you something, in the ather, I lost my ability to open portals." Blue said, Park went wide eyed from shock.
"What?! Do you have any idea how to get it back?"
"No, if I'm honest, I don't want it back, thing has brought me nothing but pain and misery." Blue said as he felt his heart twinge at the realization he may never see his adopted parents again.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, besides...I killed what took them from me after doing a one liner so my revenge is complete, those powers aren't what make me who I am, it's the people around me, and most of all me. I'm done letting my abilities define who I am." Blue said as he put his arm around Park and cradled her to sleep before he fell asleep next to her.
The next morning Blue woke up to see that Park's side of the bed was empty, he could hear the shower running. He looked to his left and saw a photo of Park with David on his graduation day, Park came out of the bathroom wearing a towel and drying her hair.
"Guess I've been a worse parent than Samantha was to me." Blue sighed as Park looked at him.
"No, unlike her it was simply impossible for you to see your son, we only managed to get you out with sheer luck." Park said as she picked out an outfit and allowed the towel to drop to the floor, as she put on her underwear. Blue stood up and headed to the bathroom to get washed as he was showering he heard something at the back his head. He blocked it out and carried on with his morning routine, when he was dressed he stepped out of the bathroom to see Park waiting for him. "Come now, I'll give you a real tour of the place, here...can't have you leaving this behind."
Park tossed a Walkman to Blue as she stood up, she led him to the mess hall and the two of them had breakfast.
"Commander Maxis and Captain Park to the briefing room please."JARVIS said as the couple stood and left for the briefing room, receiving their next mission.
