Bonded By Love-Ch 12
Over the next couple of days when Derek and Penelope weren't together at the hospital they were talking to each other on the phone, they just couldn't seem to get enough of each other. As their time in California was coming to an end for now everybody started spending a lot of time at the hospital with Penelope so that they could all get to know each other.
JJ and Emily instantly hit it off with Penelope, it was like they were all three best friends that had been together since they were children. Henry and Jack loved her from the minute they met her and by the time they were leaving the hospital on their first visit with her they were already calling her auntie P.
Today was the day that the team, including Derek were heading back to Virginia and Hotch knew that if he was going to talk to Penelope about coming to work with the FBI that he was running out of time. He had asked Derek to let him speak to Penelope first before they said their goodbyes so the team could head home.
Derek smiled and nodded his head yes as he watched his friend and boss walk into the room of the woman that he was quickly falling in love with. Penelope looked up and saw Hotch walk into the room and said, "I guess you guys are getting ready to head out"?, Hotch said, "yeah, we're heading to the landing strip from here".
Penelope sighed and said, "I see, well it was nice to get to meet all of you and I hate to see you go", Hotch said ,"you haven't seen the last of us Penelope, that you can count on". Penelope smiled and watched as he sat down beside her bed and readied to speak again.
He looked at him and said, "is something wrong'?. he said, "no, no, nothing is wrong, it's just I need to talk to you about something Penelope". She took a deep breath and said, "okay, what do you want to talk about"?, Hotch looked at her and said, "what would you say if I asked you to come work for me, with us at the FBI in Virginia"?, she sat there looking at him in disbelief.
Hotch said, "well, what do you think"?, she said, "are you serious"?, he nodded his head and said, "I'm very serious, I've talked to your employer and your brothers and found out about your amazing computer skills and we need you to work with us".
Penelope said, "but right now I can't", Hotch held up his hand and said, "we know that you can't start right now, but, when you're healed up rested would you consider moving to Virginia and working with us"?, she smiled and said, "definitely, I would love to".
Hotch grinned and held out his hand and said, "welcome to the BAU Penelope Grace Garcia", Penelope smiled and said, "thank you, thank you so much Hotch". They looked up to see Derek standing in the doorway and he said, "I take it that things went good in here"?, Hotch smiled and said, "Derek, I would like to introduce to you our newest team member Penelope Grace Garcia".
He then stood up and said, "I'll be in touch with you about everything but for now just rest and get better and we'll see you soon", she said, "thank you again Hotch, thank you for everything". Hotch laughed and said, "you are very welcome, now I'll go and let the two of you say your good byes" and she watched as he walked out of the room leaving the two of them alone.
