Bonded By Love-Ch 14
Derek kept his promise and called after the jet landed to let her know that they had made it back safely to Virginia, she couldn't help but smile knowing they were all safe. They talked for several minutes before finally getting off of the phone, he called her again later that night and they talked for a couple of hours before they both fell asleep.
Her condition continued getting better with each passing day and finally the end of the week came and she was released to go home with her brothers. Payton and the others made sure that she stayed off of her feet and rested so that her body could heal, she argued a little but all it took was Paul sneaking a call to Derek and she calmed right down.
While she continued to recover she got on the computer and was able to find herself an apartment only a few miles away from town which made everybody happy, especially Derek and Penelope. She gave her two week notice and worked from home as agreed to by her current boss he hated to see her go but he understood what an amazing chance it was to get to work with the FBI.
Penelope and her brothers got her stuff packed and sent to Virginia, Derek and the team unpacked her boxes for her, everything except her clothes, they wanted her to be able to do that as to not take every choice away from her.
The weeks past by fast and soon she was happily waiting for her jet to arrive, Derek was coming to get her on the Rossi jet, the team was all on stand down and wanted to go with him to pick up the newest member of their family, a fact that made Penelope very happy.
Her brothers were sitting with her at the airport, they had already made plans to come for a visit as soon as they possibly could, they would miss their sister and she would miss them but hopefully time would pass by quickly and they could all be together again soon.
Their attention was pulled from their conversation and to the voice calling her, she grinned as Derek and the others walked over to her and her brothers. Penelope stood up and threw her arms gently around him and said, "ohhhhh how I've missed you, I've missed you all so much".
Reid grinned and said, "but you missed Morgan more, right"?, she giggled and said, "of course I missed my man", she looked at JJ and Emily and said, "has he been behaving"?, Emily and JJ nodded their heads and Emily said, "yeah, he's been a good boy" and Derek blushed and said, "when have I not been a good boy"?, Reid opened his mouth to say something and Derek said, "never mind genius, I get it, I get it".
Derek then looked at Penelopes brothers and said, "what about her, was she good"?, Payton said, "we had a little trouble a couple of times but hearing your voice always calmed her right down". Hotch grinned and said, "yeah hearing Penelopes voice always did the same thing for Morgan".
Derek and Penelope looked at each other and then said in unison, "was I that bad"?, the others looked at each other and then in unison said, "YES" causing everybody to laugh. Payton then looked at Hotch and said, "how long do you get to stay"?, Hotch said, "not long I'm afraid, we've got to head back soon".
Dave looked at her brothers and said, "any time you four want to come for a visit just call and let me know and I'll send my jet to pick you up". Patrick said, "wow, thanks, we appreciate that", Payton said, "we told P that we'll probably be heading to Virginia for a visit in a few weeks", Penelope grinned and said, "I'm going to miss you all".
The brothers all pulled her into the center of a big group hug and Payton said, "we're going to miss you to kiddo but don't worry, you will be seeing so much of us and hearing from us so often that you'll be sick of us in no time", she wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks and said, "never",
The team watched as she hugged all of her brothers and then she walked over to Derek and he wrapped her gently in his arms and kissed the top of her head. Before they turned around to walk away she smiled at them and said, "I love you, I love you four so much".
Payton said, "we love you to P", she waved and then turned back around as Derek intertwined fingers with her and led her through the airport. The brothers stood watching as they disappeared out of sight and Patrick grinned and said, "something tells me that we're going to be getting a brother-in-law very soon".
Paul grinned and said, "I was thinking the same thing", the other two brothers nodded their heads yes in agreement as they all turned around and headed toward the exit.
