Bonded By Love-Ch 15
The flight back to Virginia was spent with everybody laughing and talking, they were all so excited and happy that Penelope was doing well enough to be able to move to Virginia. Derek grinned at her as he intertwined their fingers, he then brought her hand to his lips and gently kissed it.
JJ looked over at the smiling couple and said, "I'm really glad that you are going to be our analyst, from what I hear you are amazing at what you do". Penelope said, "I've always loved computers and if their is something out there on line I'll find it, their is nothing that can hide from me".
Hotch looked at his wife and then at Penelope and said, "you will officially start on Monday so you still have a few days to rest and to get your clothes put away in your new apartment". Penelope said, "I can't thank you all enough for everything you've done for me", she looked at Derek and said, "especially you Derek".
Derek gently squeezed her hand and said, "I was happy to help you, I'm just glad that I was able to do something to help you and make you feel better sweetness". She blushed and then laid her head down on his shoulder and closed her eyes and it wasn't long before she was sound asleep.
Emily said, "poor thing she must be wiped out, she's been through so much, especially lately", Reid said, "it will take a while for her to completely recover". Dave smiled at the sleeping woman and said, "so we'll have to do everything we can to make sure that she rests and doesn't overdo it" and everybody nodded their heads yes in agreement.
Penelope hadn't realized she'd fallen asleep until Derek kissed the top of her head and whispered, "it's time to wake up baby girl, we're getting ready to land". She opened her eyes and said, "already, how long have I been asleep"?, Derek said, "you were asleep a couple of hours but it's okay you were exhausted and your body still needs to heal".
She smiled at him and said, "remind me to call my brothers after we land", Derek nodded his head and said, "will do sweetness, will do" as he intertwined their fingers. After the jet landed she pulled her cell from her purse and pulled up Paytons number and hit send.
After a couple of rings she heard, "hey P, have you guys landed in Virginia already"?, she laughed and said, "yeah, we just landed, I wanted to call you and let you know that we're here and safe". Payton said, "that's great news little sister".
Penelope and Payton talked for another minute or so before she ended the call, she then looked over at Derek who said, "are you ready to go to your new apartment"?, she said, 'I am, I am". Hotch and the others decided to let Derek and Penelope go to her apartment alone and they all agreed to meet at Dave and Frans for brunch the next morning.
Penelope sighed happily as she climbed into Dereks truck, she then watched as he walked around and climbed in on the other side and started the truck and pulled away from the curb. A few minutes later they were pulling up in front of her apartment building and she was in awe, everything was so amazing, so beautiful.
As they walked up the sidewalk that led to the front door she still couldn't believe that she was here in Virginia with Derek and the others and that she would be starting a new job in a few days. When they got to her front door he pulled the keys from his pocket and handed them to her she smiled as she put them in the lock and turned the knob.
When she pushed the door open she said, "wowwwwww, the virtual tour didn't do this place justice at all", she looked around and was totally impressed with how everything looked. Derek said, "if you don't like how we arranged your furniture we can always change it for you", she shook her head and said, "no, it's perfect, I love everything about it, thank you handsome, thank you so much".
Derek walked over to her and pulled her into his arms and said, "anything for you baby girl" and then seconds later his lips descended on hers.
