Bonded By Blood-Ch 18

The day Penelope had been looking forward to finally arrived, it was her first day at work, she grabbed a quick shower and put on one of her favorite dresses and after grabbing her cell and sliding it into her purse she made her way out of her apartment and down the hall toward the elevator.

She had to admit it she felt amazing, she couldn't believe how much better she felt than she did before, she smiled as she made her way up the street, it was only a few blocks to work, walking them wouldn't be hard, well not now, not in the spring, winter now that is another subject all together.

Before she knew it she was walking through the door of the FBI building and after getting cleared by the guard at the door she made her way toward HR to get her badge. The process didn't take long so after getting her ID badge and reading over the material she was led toward another elevator.

As she stepped off a few minutes later she felt her heart racing, she was close to her friends and to, to, to her Derek, it felt really good to say that, her Derek". When they stepped through the double doors she saw Emily and JJ working on paperwork at their desks, they looked up and saw her and waved and smiled.

Amy, the manager of HR said, "it looks like they are happy to see you again", Penelope said, "I'm happy to seem them again to Amy, we have all become good friends". Amy smiled and said, "that's great news Penelope, she then looked up to see Hotch walking toward her with a huge smile on his face.

Hotch stopped in front of them and said, "good morning Penelope, how are you feeling today"?, Penelope said, "doing great sir and yourself"?, Hotch said, "I'm great, thanks for asking". Amy said, "she's all processed and ready for you to show her around", Hotch grinned at Amy and said ,"thanks for showing her the ropes Amy, I appreciate it".

Amy said, "sure, no problem at all", she then looked at Penelope and said, "if you have any problems or need anything, please let me know okay Penelope"?, Penelope said, "yes, thank you Amy" as she watched her new friend walk out the double doors and head back toward the elevators.

Hotch said, "well are you ready for me to show you to your office"?, Penelope nodded her head and said, "more than ready sir" and Hotch said, "what's with this sir business, I'm Aaron or Hotch, either is fine Penelope" and she grinned and said, "thanks Hotch" as the two of them headed toward her office.

She scanned her ID into the scanner and pushed her door open and she said, "wowwwwwwww, this is amazeballs" as she looked around at all of the computer screens on her wall. Hotch said, "why don't you go ahead and get use to everything" and Penelope smiled and nodded her head yes as she walked over to her desk and pulled out her seat and sat down.

She hit a few keys on her keyboard and said, "oh okayyyy, this is Lenox based, very nice, very nice" and Hotch said, "I have no idea what Lenox based means but I'm glad that you're happy". Penelope said, "happy can't even start at how I am sir, I mean Hotch, I want to thank you again for giving me this chance".

Hotch smiled and said, "you are very welcome", he then turned and started heading to the door but stopped and turned around and said, "we'll be doing a briefing in about half an hour, I need for you to be in the round table room with us, okay"?, she said, "sure but where is that"?, he said, "do you remember where Amy took you, the room where we met"?, she said, "oh yeah".

Hotch said, "just go up those stairs and follow the path and the round table room is at the end, you can't miss it", she grinned and said, "sounds like a plan, I'll be there". Hotch then turned around and headed out the door, making sure to close it behind him so Penelope could spend a few minutes more getting her bearings.

A few minutes later she heard her door opening and she turned around and smiled as she saw Derek standing there with a red rose in his hand, he walked over to her and leaned down and brushed his lips against hers and said, "good morning goddess, might I say that you look beautiful this morning" as he handed her the rose.

She sighed happily and said, "good morning angel fish and might I say that you look all kinds of sexy this morning my delectable morsel" and he laughed and shook his head and said, "woman what am I gonna do with you"?, she said, "well I do have a few ideas there" and he winked at her and said, "so do I sweetness, so do I".

Penelope stood up and grabbed one of her laptops and a notebook and said, "I believe we have a briefing don't we", he held out his arm and said, "that we do gorgeous, that we do". She slipped her arm through his as they walked out of her office and headed toward the round table room.

When they walked through the door the team said, "WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY", Penelope said, "awwww, you guys, thank you, thank you so much". JJ and Emily pulled her into a hug and Emily said, "we wanted to do something for you on your first day here sooooooo" and she pointed to the table in the corner with food and a welcome cake.

Penelope said, "you guys really know how to make a girl feel welcome" as they then all walked over to get the party started.
