Prompt 9: Consequence. From No Rest For The Weary. Summoning/desummoning spirits is something proper wizards primarily do in Widdershins world. Messing it up creates "malforms" or, more crudely, "buggerups" (because the spell was buggered up).
Ben thought there would be no consequences for summoning Sloth. After all, Mrs. Fairbairn had all the proper permits. She assured him someone else would desummon the Deadly Sin later.
But wizards started falling asleep, creating malformed spirits, keeping him busy desummoning them. One of his new co-workers went missing; the other freaked out, and it looked like his employer was involved in it all.
Now, as he and O'Malley, his unpleasant new partner, pelt toward the police station, he realized he couldn't escape the consequences of taking Mrs. Fairbairn at her word. He only hoped the police could help.
