The team had now been gone almost a week when Penelope found the last bit of information they needed to finally catch the unsub, her hunch came from Reid who suggested that she check birth records for one of their suspects and it turned out that he had been molested by one of his victims when he was a child and all of that build up of guilt broke him.
Currently the team were on the jet flying back from Arizona, Derek looked up as Hotch said, "yes mam" and put his cell back into his pocket before looking up at the team with a huge smile on his face. Emily said, "well judging from the smile on your face she must have given you good news Aaron", he said, "ohhhh she did, we are on stand down for the next two weeks".
Derek said, "that's great news", Hotch looked at Derek and said, "and before you ask, yes that two weeks off does include Garcia", Derek grinned and said, "how did you know that I was going to ask you that"?, Hotch laughed and said, "I'm a behavioral analyst, I wouldn't be doin my job if I couldn't read you Morgan", Derek laughed and said, "true dat man, true dat" and laid his head back against the seat and closed his tired eyes.
JJ said, "did you call Garcia and let her know that we were on the way home"?, Derek said, "of course I did", Reid said, "I think she's fitting in really good here with us, don't you"?, Derek said, "I do, I think she's amazing". JJ said, "she totally is and the boys both love her", Dave laughed and said, "and they aren't the only ones are they son"? and Derek said, "no, no they aren't, I'm head over heels in love with her and I'm going to tell her while we're off for these two weeks"
Dave said, "why don't you two go up to my cabin, that way you could get away from everybody and spend some much needed time alone", Derek said, "ohhhh I like that idea". Dave said, "I knew you would ohhh but can you wait until tomorrow evening to leave"?, Derek said, "sure but why"?, Dave said, "their is a surprise coming for kitten and I want her to be here to get it that's all".
Derek said, "surprise"?, Dave said, "yeah it's a surprise from her brothers, they are sending her car here and it will be here tomorrow evening, I was able to pull a few strings and help them get it here", Derek said, "ohhh she'll love that", JJ said, "and I'm sure she'll love not having to walk everywhere, especially when it's so hot outside like it's been lately" and everybody nodded their heads yes in agreement.
A couple of hours later the jet had landed and the team were heading back to the BAU, they wanted to get their paperwork finished so they wouldn't have that hanging over their heads, especially Derek. He wanted to be able to leave with his woman tomorrow evening after she got her car, he knew that she would be excited to get her car back, she had mentioned it several times since she moved to Virginia.
Penelope was still in her lair working on a search for B team when she heard a knock on her door, she said, "'enter mere mortal" and the door opened and Derek said, "so now I'm a mere mortal huh, I see where I rate with you". Penelope got up and walked over to him and pulled him into her arms and kissed his lips passionately, when they pulled apart she said, 'you rank numberone with me handsome. always have and always will" as he leaned in and claimed her lips with his.
When they pulled apart this time she said, "why didn't you call me when you landed"?, Derek said, "I wanted it to be a surprise" and she grinned and said "any time I get to see you I love" and he said, "is that so"?, she laid her head down on his chest and said, "yes, that's so, that's sooooo soooooo" and they both laughed.
Derek said, "since we are on stand down for the next two weeks I was hoping that the two of us could go out of town and spend some quality time alone"?, Penelope said, "am I on stand down too"?, he said, "of course you are, you're one of our team sweetness and when the team is off so are you" and she grinned and said, "well then in that case count me in on that quality time" and he said, "good, good" as his lips once again found hers in a passionate kiss.
Penelope grinned at him and said, 'and when are we leaving"?, he said, "how about tomorrow night"?, she said, "sure, sounds great but why tomorrow night"?, Derek said, "ohhh, well that, that's a surprise" and turned around and headed toward her door. She said, "don't I get any hints"?, he said, "nope" and turned around and walked out into the hall and said, "I should be finished in about an hour, will you be finished with your searches by then"/, she said, "I should be".
"He said, "when you get finished just get your things and come on out to me, okay"?, she said, "sure thing angel fish, sure thing" and as he walked away her computer started dinging letting her know that one of her searches was finished.
