Bonded By Love-Ch 28
Over the next couple of weeks the preparations for Derek and Penelopes wedding continued, the happy couple decided for a small, simple ceremony in Dave and Frans backyard surrounded by their family. The girls were all working with the bride on getting the dresses, bouquets and tuxedoes for the wedding, while Fran, Sarah and Desi also worked on getting things ready for the reception to celebrate the wedding of their brother and sister-in-law.
The closer it was getting for time for the wedding the more nervous Penelope was getting, what if, just what if this was all a dream and she was going to wake up and find herself in the hospital still dying. She jumped as she felt a hand on her shoulder, she looked around to see her brother Payton standing there behind her, he said, "sorry squirt, didn't mean to scare you".
She said, "it's okay Pay, it's not your fault, I was just deep in thought that's all", he laughed and shook his head and said "and I bet you're thinking that this is all a dream right, because nothing good could ever happen for you, right P"?, she said, "how did you know what I was thinking"?, he pulled her into a hug and said, "I'm your brother and I love you and let me tell you right now, this isn't a dream, this is real, this is definitely real".
Penelope looked up at him as he said, "you deserve all of the happiness in the world P and don't you ever forget that", Penelope wiped away the tears that started falling down her face and said, "it's just that, that I love him so much Pay". Payton said, "I know honey and believe me when I say that he loves you just as much, he's a special man and he's always and I mean always going to do what it takes to keep you safe and happy".
She smiled and was soon joined by her other brothers who all nodded their heads yes in agreement with Payton, Patrick said, "don't ever think that you don't deserve to be happy Penelope because you do little sister". Peter said, "you have been so much P and now it's finally time for you to get your happily ever after so enjoy it, just allow yourself to enjoy the happiness that's coming your way".
Paul grinned at his sister and said, "if mom and dad were here they would be so happy for you P, they would love Derek", Penelope said, "do you really think so"?, Paul nodded his head and said, "I do P, I definitely do". She sighed happily and said, "now that I have all four of you together their is something that I would like to discuss with you", the four brothers stood listening as Penelope took a deep breath.
She looked at them and smiled and said, "I was hoping that the four of you would, well that you would give me away", Payton looked at his brothers who all smiled at him, he then looked at her and said, "it would be our honor to give you away P". Penelope laughed as her brothers then pulled her into a group hug, in the background Derek and the others stood smiling as they watched Penelope with her brothers, Fran smiled at her son and said, "are you ready to get married tomorrow son"?, Derek said, "momma, I have never been more ready for anything in my life".
As he continued to stand there watching Penelope and her brothers he couldn't help but smile knowing that he had finally found the woman that would be with him for the rest of his life.
