Chapter One: The Fuck is That? The Fuck are Those?!
Honnouji Academy
Class K
"So, in 1933, the National Socialist German Workers Party, A.K.A. the Nazis, came to power, Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor, and soon after that, the democracy of post-war Germany became a fascist regime." The teacher drawled, never turning so much as an inch towards his students as he wrote on the chalkboard. Not that many were paying attention. These were the lowest of the low around here, they knew it, and they didn't bother trying to change it, considering how futile it was to even try. Most stayed slumped on their desks, barely conscious of what the teacher was saying. A few wrote down notes, but they were half-assed at best. One nerdy-looking kid near the back was even playing with a couple action figures, and one girl could be heard loudly snoring with her head resting on her desk.
Bang!
An impact from the outside of the thick, metal classroom door, almost like the kind you'd get in a submarine with a valve and everything, startled the students into alertness. Even the teacher stopped what he was doing to look towards the door, the valve on which had turned slightly due to the impact.
As they looked on, the valve on the door turned even more at a slow pace, making a creaking sound as it did so, showing the lack of maintenance. After a moment it stopped, and there was a second of silence...
Bang!
The second impact resulted in the valve being dislodged from the door… Moments before the door itself was sent flying off its hinges, revealing the spiked sole of a shoe. The door did not fall as doors often did when kicked down, but continued flying across the room, only coming to a stop as it hit and shattered the window on the other side of the classroom, and cracked the window to the left of the divider… Which was actually permanently indented, showing this quite possibly happened regularly in this classroom... The door itself broke into pieces as though it were made of cheap plastic instead of metal, and there was enough force left in the momentum of the pieces as they bounced back towards the students that they totally destroyed a number of desks in the front couple rows, the impacts of the door pieces creating shockwaves that rocked the entire room, and probably the classrooms on either side of this one.
All of this happened in less than five seconds, and took merely a single kick to accomplish.
"Uh… We're in the middle of a lesson here." The teacher said, just a tinge of nervousness in his dull voice, as the numerous sheets of paper the few students that had been paying attention and been taking notes on floated slowly to the floor.
The hallway behind the door frame seemed to be cloaked in darkness, with only three sudden flashes of light coming from it for a second, before a behemoth of a human being suddenly stepped into the room. He towered above even the tallest of students as well as the teacher, and despite his whole body being clothed in a uniform, you could tell at a glance that he had muscles that would make professional bodybuilders envious. He was Japanese, as was everyone in the room, but he had a notably darker complexion than anyone else. He had short, blond hair and fierce grey eyes that glared out from beneath a pair of thick, angry eyebrows. A pair of small, gold earrings adorned his ears. The initial basis of his uniform was that of the regular Japanese boys' uniform, being a bluish-white coat with silver highlights that was totally buttoned with the collar, which had three small four-pointed stars on the front, up so you couldn't see what was beneath, and a pair of white trousers. One of the main things that stood out on the blazer was the emblem on his chest, which was meant to represent three four-pointed stars, one large one at the very centre and two smaller ones, one to either side of the large one, though it would be difficult to tell they were stars for people with no context since they overlapped each other and were exactly the same shade of black, so it looked like a single symbol. The additions to the uniform were the other thing that stood out: Metal shoulder pads, fingerless gauntlets, and boots, all adorned with sharp spikes of numerous sizes. He was the very image of intimidation.
"I'm on official business!" The giant of a man yelled at the teacher, and seconds later numerous nondescript students, all of which had the exact same bowl-cut hairstyle, flooded into the classroom, lined in two single file lines, which led from the door to the windows, and trapped the teacher between them.
The teacher released something akin to a squeal and backed up, falling to his hands and knees to bow in front of the man. "Y-Yes, sir." He said obediently, the line of students separating him from his students immediately dispersed at his actions, and joined the other line in front of the blackboard, all within moments.
The man slowly turned his glare towards the students. "I'm the Disciplinary Committee chair, Ira Gamagori!" He announced, though the students already knew who he was. Everyone at this school knew who he was. Gamagori began pacing the front of the classroom. "Students of Class K! It has come to our attention, there is someone among you who intends to bring harm to Honnouji Academy!" A student grimaced, glaring at Gamagori, as the girl from before continued to sleep away beside him. In fact, she was sleeping so deeply that a rather large, comedic snot bubble expanded and contracted as she snored lightly. "Step forward and accept your punishment!" Gamagori finished with a glare towards the crowd of teens in front of him.
The glaring student, despite the sweat covering his face, jumped to his feet, sending his desk flying with the force that he stood up with, and gaining everyone's attention as he slowly, very slowly, drew his arm back with something clenched in it while the students around him watched in horror at what he was daring to do, and Gamagori stared at the student with a glare so strong, it would have sent every other student in the classroom crashing to their knees to beg for forgiveness, even if they hadn't done anything wrong. And then, the student threw what was held in his hand on the ground. A torrent of gas so vast that it filled not only the classroom but also the surrounding hallways exploded from the object, and the student booked it, sprinting from the room as fast as his legs would carry him with a bag clutched against his chest. In a few seconds, he was out of the cloud of gas and running down the stairs, taking them two at a time.
"Hahahahahaha!" A laugh came as the fleeing student got down to the landing of the stairs, turned as quick as he could, and kept running, not daring to look out the window he'd heard the laugh come from. He landed on the next flight of stairs, turned, and continued running down as fast as his legs could carry him, before the same laugh came again as he got to the next landing. "Hahahahahahaha!" As scary as this laugh was, however, the student was well aware that it could have been coming from somebody worse.
Much worse.
He reached the bottom of the stairs and flung open the double doors to the outside, only for Gamagori's silhouette to fill his vision. He yelped, his hopes at escaping the man being squashed. Before he could do anything, Gamagori had picked him up by the collar.
"Did you think you could escape me with a tear gas bomb?!" Gamagori bellowed. Without giving the student a chance to answer, he turned around and flung him across the school grounds.
The scream the student released as he went flying across the grounds was anything but masculine. It felt like he was flying through the air for miles, which was an exaggeration, but not much of one considering the strength Gamagori had thrown him with, and the length of the academy's courtyard. He flew a hundred feet at least before any part of him hit the ground, and when it did, it was his ass that took the fall. As it hit the ground, he was still moving with such speed that it shattered the dirt he landed on into chunks, and he went spinning out of control, doing more and more damage to the ground and himself as he went. Eventually, he fell into a roll, which ended after a few seconds. Despite the distance he had covered, Gamagori was still standing right over him when he looked up, with other members of the Disciplinary Committee standing dutifully at attention behind him.
"Dammit." The student growled. He quickly pulled out what he had been hiding in his bag and glared at Gamagori. It was a light grey uniform with a single, small white four-pointed star on the collar and a large black four-pointed star symbol on the chest.
"A One-Star Goku Uniform." Gamagori spoke, a hint of amusement in his tone. "Looks like I've found our thief. What are you waiting for? Try it on." He invited the teen in front of him, the amusement becoming just a bit clearer as he did so, as if he knew something the student didn't.
The student in question did so, rushing to put it all on. "Amazing!" He exclaimed as he felt a strength unlike anything he'd ever felt before. He flexed his body as he got used to the feeling. "I can feel the power surging through my body and my soul!" He got himself into a combat stance. "I like it!" As he yelled this out, it was revealed that somehow, the Goku uniform was even more extraordinary. After all, the student was relatively overweight, and yet seconds after putting on the uniform, he'd slimmed down considerably, seeming to gain a more athletic build, and even became just slightly more appealing visually when compared to before. What's more is that the scuff marks he'd gained from rolling across the grounds had healed.
Out of one of his gauntlets, Gamagori pulled a whip and began swinging it at the student, who dodged every single attack with seamless fluidity, even leaving a few afterimages in his wake. "My body's moving faster than fast!" He exclaimed in amazement, his voice slightly distorted to those listening due to how quickly he was moving.
"Of course." Said Gamagori. "That's the power of the Goku Uniform." He stopped swinging the whip as the student managed to slap it aside, and charge towards the man.
"Then die!" The student shouted, swinging a fist at Gamagori. It impacted Gamagori's stomach… And did absolutely nothing. His fist stopped dead and the attack hadn't drawn so much as a twitch.
"Too bad." Gamagori said, grinning as he looked down on the student, who was now shaking in terror. What made it worse was that Gamagori's arms were held out, as he'd been inviting the student to attack him, and hadn't even bothered to try and guard against it. "Your uniform's a One-Star, but mine's a Three-Star. Sorry, but your attacks can't do a thing to me!" Gamagori produced whips from both gauntlets now, attacking the student with a ferocity and speed he hadn't before, proving that he had merely been toying with his prey like a cat with a mouse. There was no dodging or blocking this time, just pain. He managed to get one whip wrapped around the student's leg and began swinging him around, the whip extending out so that the student reached the walls surrounding the school, smashing into them, breaking chunks off, and being dragged along them painfully. "Sneaking a Goku Uniform out?! WHAT WERE YOU PLANNING ON DOING WITH IT?! Perhaps you're a spy working for that Kobe trash! The power of the uniform is wasted on you! YOU'RE NOT FIT TO WEAR IIIIIIIIIIT!"
Finally, the student was smashed into the wall over the entrance to the school, creating a massive cloud of dust as his body indented it. When the dust cleared enough to see, it was clear that he had taken a hell of a lot of damage, with missing teeth, bruises, and nothing but pained groans exiting his mouth. Gamagori's whip was wrapped around his entire body like a cocoon.
"Remove that Goku Uniform." Said Gamagori. "NOW!" He pulled his whip, jerking the student into a rapid spin. He spun fast enough to become blurred, and when the spinning stopped and the whip was totally unravelled, he was naked, and he slammed back into the wall, indenting it further. Gamagori's whip retracted fully, returning the Goku Uniform, perfectly folded somehow, back to him. He patted the dust off of it and handed it to a member of the Disciplinary Committee beside him.
"LISTEN UP!" Gamagori roared. He needn't have bothered - he'd had the rapt attention of everybody in the school, all of them looking out of the windows of their classrooms, for quite some time now. "STUDENTS OF HONNOUJI ACADEMY! SATSUKI KIRYUIN, YOUR STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT, CREATED THE LAWS OF THIS SCHOOL! AND AS LONG AS I'M ALIVE, THOSE LAWS WILL BE UPHELD!"
If he was going to say any more, he never got to. A bright light from the highest point of the school, almost bright enough to be sunlight, shone down upon him, and he raised a hand to shield his eyes as he looked up towards the source in reverent silence.
Standing atop the school stood a woman with a sword in front of her, the blade kept within a pristine white sheath with a blue ribbon around it near the guard, and the end pressed against the floor as she firmly grasped the hilt with both hands. She was a tall, slim, dangerously gorgeous 18-year-old woman with thigh-length black hair with bangs hanging down over her forehead forming a loose triangle shape. Her eyes were a sharp, icy blue and they sat beneath a pair of thick eyebrows. Her uniform consisted of a fully buttoned white jacket with bluish-silver highlights, a pair of tight white trousers, and a pair of high heels. Her uniform's formality covered a substantial chest. A perpetual frown was painted across her beautiful face.
There was a silhouette up there, too. Somebody was standing behind her and to the side, clearly inferior but also important enough to be at her side. Despite the fact that no features were visible through the light, one thing shone sinisterly out of the figure's face: A grin, sharp as any dagger, cut into the hearts and souls of every observer, a number of them shivering at the sight.
"Lady Satsuki…" Gamagori breathed out. "A-TEN-HUUUUT!" He yelled, and every member of the Disciplinary Committee stood at attention. "YOUR STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT, SATSUKI KIRYUIN! HAAAAIIIILLL" The man shouted for all to obey.
The light emanating from Satsuki brightened as she took a single step forward. The clack of her high heel hitting the ground somehow resounded all over the area. A further three figures joined the one now standing closest to Satsuki. "Fear is freedom!" Satsuki announced to the masses, as the wind blew her hair to the side, making her seem just that bit more intimidating to those watching and listening. "Subjugation is liberation! Contradiction is truth! Those are the facts of this world, and you will all surrender to them, you pigs in human clothing!"
Beside her, the figure's grin widened, even as the light emanating from the woman became completely blinding to those watching...
[The Next Day]
The Academy itself was larger than almost any other school on the planet, especially the middle, which had a tower that reached towards the sky, which Satsuki Kiryuin had stood on top of the day before as Gamagori made an example of the student that had attempted to steal a Goku Uniform.
[Honnouji Academy]
That being said, while the Academy itself was large, that was nothing compared to the man-made island that it was built on, which had enough space on it to fit in numerous mansions, apartment buildings, and a rather large slum area, based on all the mix-matched houses that took up a good portion of the bottom two-thirds of the entire island.
[Transfer Students]
And standing in the middle of the bridge connecting this man-made island to the mainland, were two figures, both staring at the sight in front of them. The first was a 17 year old girl who was glaring daggers at the island in front of them, a scowl on her face. She had mid-length, blue tinted unkempt hair that reached her neck, and had a single, left-swept red highlight above her left eye. She also had blue eyes that had peculiar gear-like symbols with eight grooves that surrounded her pupils. She was wearing a simple white shirt with a red ribbon tie, a black miniskirt, white sneakers, and a black & white jacket with rolled-up sleeves, which had two dragon-esque heads on either side of the separation, facing inwards. She had a guitar case on her back, with a strap wrapping from her right shoulder to her left waist to hold it.
[Ryuko Matoi]
The second person was a 17 year old boy with unkempt black hair that reached just past his ears, although his hair was much more untidy than the girl's, and hazel colored eyes that were closer to grey. He was wearing black boots, blue jeans, a plain red T-shirt… And a white lab coat, of all things, the right shoulder of which appeared to be stitched back together. That being said, the lab coat only reached just past his shoulders, leaving his arms bare, and as a result, some 1st and 2nd degree burn scars could be seen, as well as a more typical scar that lead from the outside of his right elbow to his shoulder, and one on his left hand, which went from where his right index finger started, to the left part of his wrist.
[Roy Butler]
Roy's eye twitched, before he shoved the red kanji floating in front of them away, and then turned back to face the school with the girl beside him. "There it is... " Ryuko started, as the two stared upwards at the light that appeared to shine from the very top of the Academy, and the clouds seemed to circle the place. "Honnouji Academy." She continued, getting a nod from Roy as he frowned.
"Took a while to get here… This probably should've been our first stop, considering the lack of information at any of the other schools." He sighed, running his right hand through the hair on the back of his head. Ryuko simply grunted as she started walking forwards, Roy quick to follow behind her as they made their way into the Slums portion of the island. Said Slums were practically a maze, with how all the buildings, stands and alleyways were set up to seemingly make the most out of any limited space. As they walked, they came upon a produce stand, the two eyeing it, before Ryuko bought a lemon from the man who owned it, and the two continued on their way.
As they made their way through the Slums, Ryuko raised an eyebrow at the boy beside her. "Not gonna get anything?" She asked, before taking a bite out of the lemon in her hands. In response, Roy shook his head, before looking around, making Ryuko do the same. There seemed to be a perpetual smoke around the area, and the makeshift buildings looked even more run-down than they might have normally been. At the same time, all the people they could see in the streets, alleyways, and looking through their windows, hinted towards the fact that this place had more than its fair share of crooks.
"Nah, I'd rather wait and get a better handle on the situation. My guess? The people here'll likely try to scam us for our money… Like that lemon. Pretty sure you spent at least twice the normal cost than it would normally be." He admitted, making Ryuko frown as she looked down at the food in question, and stuffed her hands, and the lemon, into her jacket pockets. "Honestly, the place gives me Roanapur vibes." He admitted with a shrug, making the girl beside him raise an eyebrow, which caused him to roll his eyes at her response. "Right, you haven't watched Black Lagoon yet… I really need to change that." He said, making Ryuko scoff, even as she smirked a bit as the two continued through the Slums, climbing a set of stairs as they did so.
When they reached the landing, a kid came running down, before looping the two of them to avoid hitting them, and then continued running down the stairs, looking over his shoulder slightly and raising a hand to them. "Whoops! Sorry!" He exclaimed, before continuing down the stairs. As the kid ran, Roy and Ryuko shared a glance, even as they turned around and made their way back down the stairs they'd just climbed. "So, what'd he get?" He asked, making Ryuko smirk as she pulled on the pocket of her jacket, making Roy snicker a bit as they reached the bottom of the stairs, and heard the kid's voice from a couple meters away.
"Ah! I coulda sworn I grabbed her wallet!" The kid exclaimed, making the two leap onto the roof of the tiny shed he was leaning against and crouched down to look at him as the kid stared at the lemon in his hand in bewilderment. He had brown hair and eyes, and was wearing ripped blue jean shorts, a slightly oversized black shirt he had tied the end of to keep shorted, white blue-tinted sunglasses resting on his head, and white shoes. Seconds later, Ryuko reached down and swiped the lemon from his hand, to his surprise.
"Stealing half eaten lemons from people? Heh, nice manners, kid." Ryuko sarcastically complimented him as he leaped to his feet off the trash bag he'd been sitting on and stared at them with wide eyes as he gave a "Gah!" of shock. "Are you that desperate to swap spit with chicks?" She asked him with a slightly condescending smirk, before her and Roy leapt down onto the ground in front of the kid, Ryuko having a confident smirk on her face, while Roy simply looked at the kid with amusement clear to see on his face.
"Don't be getting all cute with me bitch! I get way more action than you!" He exclaimed in anger, making Roy snigger at the kid's actions, even as Ryuko's confident grin changed to an amused one that matched Roy's.
"Good. Then you can die without any regrets." She stated, although her words only made the kid give her a malicious smirk.
"Ha! I was just gonna say that to you!" He exclaimed, raising an arm and pointing upwards. "Come on out guys!" He shouted, and three other kids leapt out of the corners of the alley to surround the two older teens. All three were wielding weapons of some sort, with one holding a long pipe, the second swinging a chain around, and the third actually revving a chainsaw. "You even know who you're dissin'? Me! Lightning Speed Mataro, that's who! And this is Honno Town's blindest alley, my turf! It's a dead end for losers, hoes, thugs and scumbags! So if you wanna get home in one piece, leave your wallets and step!" The now-named Mataro exclaimed, making it so that Ryuko and Roy looked around at them, their smirks still on their faces, even as Roy looked around the alley itself and saw some branches out of it that showed some proof of Mataro's words. The fact that some people watched the scene with apathy, or didn't even bother turning to look despite Mataro's voice being loud enough to be heard, only further confirmed this.
"Seriously? Y'know, this whole "street punk" thing ain't workin' for ya'." Ryuko states, before looking over her shoulder at the other kids. "Same with your crew. These guys are like, the goofiest gang ever. Anyway, if you all wanna pick a fight, that's cool with me. Let's do this." She stated with confidence, making Mataro scowl as he pointed at the two teens, the other kids' feral grins widening.
"Kick their aaaassseeesssss!" He yelled, and the three jumped towards the two… Only for Roy to simply duck slightly, and allow Ryuko to whip her guitar case around the two of them, beating the other three black and blue without even trying. As she did so, and the kids started to fall to the ground, Roy quickly shot back upwards, and his hands reached out to grab onto the weapons, before pulling his arms back, the weapons now gone and the three kids lying in heaps in the dirt as Mataro started shaking slightly at the scene in front of him while Ryuko turned to stare at the "leader", the look in her eyes clearly showing she was ready for more.
Mataro retracted his arm, almost as if he was ready to pull it back for a punch… And then he and the other three kids slid backwards on the ground to grovel in front of the two older teens. """"We give up! You win!"""" All four exclaimed at once, making Ryuko give a start in surprise, while Roy scoffed in amusement at their actions.
"What the hell?" Ryuko asked, as Mataro got up onto one knee to look at her, sweat now covering his face, and a nervous smile present.
"We weren't really gonna do anything. Yo, we're a passive aggressive gang!" He exclaimed, making Roy chuckle at the sight even as he fingered his lab coat.
A passive aggressive gang that gave me my 65th pipe, 47th chain, and a second chainsaw. Yeah, sure. He thought as he continued to chuckle, while Ryuko held the strap of her guitar case and straightened out her posture with a smirk on her face.
"I'm not gonna fight people who can't fight back." She said as she adjusted the strap and stared at the kids in front of her. "I'll let it slide this time. C'mon Roy." She commented, before the two older teens continued forwards, ignoring the four kids as they walked down the alleyway. As they did so, the four kids watched them go, before all of them exhaled sighs of relief. Unfortunately for Mataro, he missed the school bag flying towards him while he was doing so, which resulted in it hitting him square across the side of his head, knocking him into the air to his friends' surprise, and making it so Roy and Ryuko looked back in confusion at the sound it made, before another voice could be heard.
"Hoooold iiittt!" A girl's voice called out, before a girl who looked younger than the two teens, but older than Mataro, came flying into the scene, and cross-chopped the back of Mataro's head, before she tackled him out of the alleyway and into the main street, and put his arm into a wrestler's hold that Roy couldn't remember the name of at that moment. "Muggin' folks at the crack of dawn again, huh?" She rhetorically asked in annoyance, making Mataro sweat as he looked up at her annoyed face in fear.
"Crap! It's my big sister!" He exclaimed. Unfortunately for him, the hold was only the beginning.
"How many times do I have to tell you to stop shaking people down and get your fanny to school?! You got a death wish or something?!" She yelled, putting him into various wrestler holds as she did so, while Roy noticed how the people around the area simply watched this happen, and realized it must be an almost daily occurrence. Or at least regular enough that it wasn't anything out of the ordinary.
"Huh… This is now the third older sister of a gang-leader that can take out her younger brother without a problem that we've run into…" Roy muttered with a raised eyebrow, Ryuko nodding along with him, though still slightly surprised since unlike what they normally ran into, these two were an early highschool girl and a later primary school kid, unlike how it was usually two older highschool teens.
"I'm sorry! I'm goin'! I'm goin'! I'm goin'!" Mataro exclaimed, tapping out on the ground as he did so, making the girl let him go, and allowing his friends to help him up, before the four ran off. After getting a fair distance away, he turned back to face his older sister. "I ain't got time for institutionalized learning you dumbass! I'm gonna be a baller! A balllleeeer!" He exclaimed, making the girl huff in response to his words and actions.
"Dumb little jerk." The girl commented in annoyance, before blinking, and then turning to the two older teens and giving them a smile. "Sorry about that, are you-" Unfortunately, she was cut off when a bell rang, making her shout in shock. "I'm gonna be late! Wait uuupp!" She shouted before she chased after a trolley that had just started moving as Roy and Ryuko's eyes followed her running figure. "Lemme on, lemme on, lemme on, please let me on, pleeeease!" She exclaimed, before leaping forwards… And grabbing onto the trolley. "Oh. I got on. Yay." She said in joyful surprise.
Roy and Ryuko watched as the trolley rumbled away while it's bell rang a couple times, with the male blinking at what they just saw. "Well, I was not expecting that…" He muttered, before shrugging. "But, I was expecting not to expect something here, so it doesn't count." He admitted with a smirk as he looked around the Slums, while Ryuko simply continued to stare at where the trolley headed off to.
"What the hell? ...These people are crazy." She commented, making Roy smirk as he bumped her shoulder with his own while he started walking down the street.
"Well then, I guess we should feel right at home then." He said, making Ryuko blink, before chuckling slightly as she caught up to him.
"Yeah, I guess so." She agreed, before they continued forwards, heading up the hill towards the academy at the top of the island. It took them a while, with Roy vaguely noticing the couple times the scenery around them got "neater" the higher they got, but eventually, they reached the top, and he put it out of his mind to stare at the entrance in front of them. And greeting them-
"This is a Naked Pig who dared to defy Honnouji Academy. Justice has been served." Ryuko read out the wooden board attached to the body strung up above the school entrance by what appeared to be barbed wire. At the sight, Roy couldn't help but flinch slightly, and acknowledge that death was a very real threat here… Similar to the other schools they'd been to. That being said, this was much more "in your face" than any of the other schools. "Heh, the city's dangerous, but the school sounds even worse… Interesting." Ryuko commented with a bit of a grin, not directed at the body, but at what it signified. "Something tells me we're gonna find some answers here." She continued as her and Roy walked through the entrance.
"Yeah, as long as we don't die along the way." He remarked, before shrugging. "Eh, we'll deal with shit as it comes." He commented as the two made their way across the academy courtyard, and noticed a few other students doing the same, but at a bit of a faster pace.
A short while later, the two had been directed to their class, and were standing at the front of it as the teacher wrote their names on the blackboard, this classroom incidentally being the same one that the student who'd been killed had run from the previous day.
"We have two new students in Class K today." The teacher began, once again facing the blackboard as he wrote on it, Roy and Ryuko standing to his right as they faced the class of bored students who were hardly paying attention, with nearly half the class not paying attention at all. "So, please welcome Ryuko Matoi, and Roy Butler."
[Ryuko Matoi]
[Roy Butler]
Roy's eye twitched as their names appeared once again… Though this time, much larger, and behind them, which he was only able to tell due to the fact that he just knew they were there. However, he was distracted from this fact due to the fact that suddenly, every kids' gaze was on him in what appeared to be horror for some reason… However, his attention was brought elsewhere when a snot bubble popped and a familiar girl's hand shot into the air and waved at them. Luckily it seemed this made their names disappear as she spoke up.
"Ryuko! Roy! Here! Sit here! This desk is free! Suzuki used to sit here, but the student council purged him, so it's all yours if you want it! Wanna be desk neighbors?! C'mon! Yes? No? Yes? No? Oh! And Kyoya sat beside him! But he didn't know about how the Student Council did things, so yesterday really freaked him out, and he left! So that seat's free too!" She exclaimed as she pointed at the two seats in question… Granted, the two didn't really hear everything she'd said, considering Ryuko started commenting shortly after she called towards the two of them.
"Man." She said with a mostly blank look, though you could tell she was slightly surprised.
"What?" The teacher asked, now having turned around to stand at his messily put-back-together podium after yesterday's events.
"That chick's spazzing out something fierce." Ryuko said, still staring at Mako as she started to point at the two seats open to her left.
"Oh, that's how Mankanshoku usually is." The teacher commented, making Roy raise an eyebrow as he glanced around the room, noticing the shattered window and bent framework beside it, before focusing on the students who were still staring at him, but had once had blank looking faces before his name was brought up.
"Doesn't seem like much of a bad thing. You ask me, this place seems like it could use some of that cheer she seems to constantly give off." He said, making the teacher glance at him, before shrugging.
"Eh… I guess those'll be your seats. Enjoy." He said, semi-ignoring the teens words, and making them give their own shrugs in response as they made their way over to their seats. As soon as they sat down, the girl turned to them with an innocent smile on her face… And all the other students immediately did their best to inch their desks away from Roy, though not too much. The last thing they needed was Gamagori coming into the room and finding the desks "out of alignment"... A moment later, the girl started to speak to them.
"My name's Mako Mankanshoku!" She exclaimed, her name appearing in front of her, and making Roy sigh as he realized this would just be a thing from now on. He'd hoped it only really applied to them, but it seemed that wasn't the case. "It's nice to meet you again and everything! Eheh!" She laughed as she closed her eyes and gave a wider smile while tilting her head slightly, getting a soft grin from Roy in response to the girl's attitude, even if he was a bit surprised to find out she was the same age as them. Meanwhile, Ryuko raised an eyebrow, before pointing a finger over her shoulder towards the window.
"That kid the Student Council purged. He the one out front?" She asked, making Roy's grin turn to a slight frown at that comment and reminder, before Mako responded.
"Uh-huh! That kind of thing happens all the time around here." She said, making Roy choke on his own spit as he realized this was normal at this school, and not just an execution for outright defying the Kiryuins. "Oh, but don't worry about it, you'll get used to it!" Mako continued, waving her hand as if waving off the worries themselves.
Just what the fuck is up with this school…? Roy wondered to himself with a twitching eye as the teacher began his lesson… And Mako brought out a lunch box behind a workbook, scarfed all the food down, and then promptly fell asleep with a snot bubble and everything, making Ryuko and Roy turn to stare at her in shock.
"She's asleep already?!" Ryuko asked in shock, while Roy's eye twitched as he brought out a notebook and pen.
"What I wouldn't give to be able to fall asleep that fast…" He muttered as he listened to their teacher explain information about the Nazi's rise to power, taking notes when necessary. Ah, conflicting timelines, how I hate you… He thought to himself with a twitching eyebrow. And the only reason he was even taking notes in the first place was due to the fact it would be better to keep up his grades here so that they couldn't be suspended or expelled for bad ones… It would probably already happen when Ryuko figured out more about the whole reason they were here and did something to get them kicked out, but it was better to stay here longer to get more info before that happened, and not lose the chance to gather intel for a stupid reason like refusing to study of all things...
When school finished for the day, Roy raised an eyebrow at the fact that the "bell" was a siren of all things as him and Ryuko walked down the hallway. However, their attention was brought to a familiar voice as it called out to the girl of the duo. "Oh Ryuuukoooo!" Mako Mankanshoku exclaimed as she flew through the air towards them with her eyes closed, and a wide smile on her face. In response to this, Ryuko simply stepped aside to let the girl fly past them. However, Roy was a bit kinder, as he reached out and grabbed onto the neck of Mako's shirt and halted her movements… Without choking the girl, somehow.
As a result, he kept her from crashing into the trash cans that had been set up behind the two teens, as he lowered the girl and allowed her to stand on the ground beside them. "Watch where you're flying there, Mako." Roy told her with a slight smirk, even as he caught up to Ryuko, since his friend had already started to walk off while he helped the girl. Mako blinked after the two of them, before rushing forwards- Aaand, slipping on a banana peel on the ground that someone had decided they'd simply drop there instead of throwing away in the bin literally three feet away.
As a result of her slip and fall, Roy and Ryuko had already made their way out towards the academy's courtyard, before Mako caught up to them. "Aw, c'mon Ryuko! Why'd you dodge me! And then you both left me behind!" She exclaimed, making the two teens raise an eyebrow each at her.
"Well that's what people do when weirdos come flying at them." Ryuko told her like it was obvious… And it kind of was.
"Don't know you all too well… And Ryuko was heading off, so I followed her. At least I stopped you from getting covered in trash… Although it seems like you somehow got a banana peel on your head anyways." Roy commented, glancing at the peel in question as he said this, even as Mako pouted and looked forwards as she walked with the two.
"Aw… I was just trying to give my besties a hug." She complained, making the two glance at her in surprise.
"Your besties?" Ryuko asked the girl in confusion, making Mako nod with her grin back on her face once again.
"Yeah! We're desk neighbors now, so we're totally besties! And since you and Roy are besties, that means we're besties too! Oh, wait! Is that your guitar case? Do you play? C'mon, play something! I'll sing!" She exclaimed, and then proceeded to do her best to attempt singing, holding the banana peel as if it was a microphone in front of her mouth, while precariously balancing on her school bag.
Roy tried to listen to the girl sing, in order to tell whether she actually could or not, but Ryuko starting to talk made it a bit hard to listen, so he simply shrugged. Though he did wince a bit at the voice cracks in the girl's voice. Maybe practice a bit more… And wait till you're older and the voice cracks won't affect you. Then again, with how I was previously, I can't really talk. He thought to himself.
"God, would you calm down? Listen, I wanna know what the deal is with this place. Like, who's the top dog around here and stuff?" Ryuko asked, and like a switch being flipped, Mako was suddenly standing on the ground, her bag in her hands once again, and the banana peel tossed aside.
"Sure! It's-" However, she cut herself off and, using both her hands, forced Ryuko and Roy to bow multiple times, both older teens being caught off guard at the action. "Woah! Look out Ryuko! Roy! Bow! Bow!" She exclaimed, before holding them both in a bowing position… And the two noticed how there was a long line of students standing on either side of them, also bowing, as well as a long line of students doing the same thing a few feet in front of them, but facing them. The two shared a glance, before they looked along the newly made pathway, and noticed how everyone else was keeping their gazes pointed at the ground, some students having sweat clear to see on their fear-filled faces.
Following the line all the way back towards a section of the school, they saw a giant of a man making his way down the steps. As this happened, Ryuko decided to stop bowing, and instead squatted on the ground, resting the side of her head against her arm, while her other elbow was resting on her knee. Mako looked at her in confusion, while Roy simply sighed at his friend's actions. His friend might be a bit of a delinquent, and proud of it, but he liked to think he had a bit more respect when it came to authority… At least as long as they didn't do anything that got on his nerves and made him say "fuck you" to them, both with his actions, and verbally saying such. After a couple seconds, Ryuko spoke up as she looked at the man with a slightly bored expression.
"He looks like a bigshot." She commented, making Roy nod slightly in agreement as he watched the man walk closer to them down the path of students.
"Yeah, he's a Three-Star." Mako told the girl as the man walked past them, making Roy raise an eyebrow. Both at the "explanation" Mako gave, and the fact that the man passed by them completely without commenting on Ryuko's actions… Then again, he was so tall, and Ryuko was squatting under the other bowing students, that he wouldn't be surprised if he simply hadn't seen her.
"Three-Star?" Ryuko asked, still slightly bored as she kept her gaze on the man now walking away from them, as Mako nodded slightly.
"Yup, that's Ira Gamagori. The Disciplinary Committee Chairman. He's one of the Elite Four of the Student Council. He's super Elite. Three ranks above us No-Star students!" She explained, making Roy raise an eyebrow at the terms she was using.
"No-Star?" He asked, although he figured it had something to do with how her uniform looked normal, but a few others near the area that Gamagori had come from had a single black star on the front of their uniforms.
"Uh-huh. The uniforms here have amazing powers, and if you get one at here it's awesome! You get all, like, superhuman and stuff! They're called Goku Uniforms, and they go from One-Star, all the way up to Three-Star! Our Student Council President, Satsuki Kiryuin, hands out Goku Uniforms based on a student's abilities. Long story short, they're awesome! You got all that?" Mako asked, Roy having been nodding along with her explanation the entire time, though snorting slightly at the Uniform's name, wondering about the story behind that, while Ryuko narrowed her eyes at the information.
"So what you're saying is, the Student Council President's the top dog, right?" She asked, and mere moments later, a bright light shined down upon the bowing students, making Roy narrow his eyes slightly to see through it, and noticed two people walking down the stairs Gamagori had come from only a short while ago.
"Yeah… And speak of the devil, that's Lady Satsuki." She commented.
[Satsuki Kiryuin]
Roy's eye twitched when he noticed the Kanji appearing in front of the girl, before they disappeared as Mako gave an audible gulp. "And that's the Vice-President of the Student Council." She said, making the two glance over at the figure walking a little ways behind and to the side of Kiryuin. It was a Caucasian boy who looked notably younger than the woman he was standing behind. Still old enough for high school, but just barely. His hair, black as night, was kept short, and what little of it there was, was swept to the left, leaving him with a parting on the right side of his head. His face was what stood out, though. His eyes were dark blue, not the icy blue that fiction had come to make people expect from a figure such as this, but all the same, his eyes told of a man who would have just as much fun killing you as he would at an amusement park. The smile didn't help matters - it was wide and sharp at the edges, cutting through you like a knife if you looked at it. His uniform, if it could be called that, wasn't the sort of thing you'd normally see in a school. It was a bluish-white hoodie with silver strings hanging from the hood to tighten it up, three stars just below the hood, and the Three-Star symbol in black on the chest. His trousers and shoes bore the same colour as his hoodie. "Philip Butler. Everyone here is afraid of him. The Elite Four are scary strong, and if you insult Lady Satsuki, they'll beat you up! But everyone's even more scared of him, because he'll make it ten times worse! And he'll laugh while doing it! It's made even more scary because even though he's only 16, he's in the same grade as Lady Satsuki!" Mako explained.
[Philip Butler]
When she told the two of them this, Ryuko's eyes narrowed at all this information. As for Roy, however, his eyes became as wide as dinner plates at what he'd just found out, his mind focused on the teen to the point that he didn't even acknowledge the kanji appearing above the Vice-President's head. Especially since both the name and appearance of the person standing behind Satsuki were extremely familiar to him, with the exception of the wide smile on his face. Unfortunately, he was unable to make any comments, as Ryuko was quick to step out of line and stand smack-dab in the middle of the path of students, all of which stared at her in shock and horror at her actions, while Roy gave a silent groan of annoyance. Both at the fact that she was still trying to jump into these kinds of situations head first, actually succeeding this time, and that he hadn't been able to stop her before he could ask for more information on the school's Vice-President… Or at least stop her so that he could make it so the current situation favored them more.
"Sorry to interrupt, but I hear you're the Queen Bee at this school. If you are, I got a question for ya'!" Ryuko exclaimed, making Roy actually facepalm at her actions as he slowly stood up with the rest of the students around him to watch the current events playing out. However, unlike everyone else who was staring at her in shock and horror, he was simply giving her a look of exasperation.
In response to all this happening, Philip pulled up the sleeve of his hoodie and looked at his wrist as though he were looking at a watch that wasn't there. "Hmm. New record. I think this is the quickest a new student has ever killed themselves." He said in a tone that clearly showed his amusement as he looked Ryuko dead in the eyes and gave her a swift grin. "You have got some balls on you, new girl."
"How dare you?" A One-Star student asked Ryuko in anger over her insolence. "Get her!" A number of the One-Star students around Ryuko all made to jump on her at once, but she easily batted them all aside with no more than a swing of her case, making them all drop pathetically to the floor. When this happened, Philip chuckled at the display. He had a feeling this new girl was going to be a fun one…
…That is, until Ryuko opened her case and took out the contents, revealing a giant, red blade that looked to be one half of a pair of scissors. She swung it in circles around her a few times before pointing it up at Satsuki, a stony expression on her face as the reflection of the sunlight glinted off the blade for a split second. When this happened, Philip's mouth closed. The grin remained on his face, but his eyes were fixed on the Scissor Blade. There was a hint of something, possibly recognition, in his eyes as he stared at it. He glanced to the side, at Satsuki, to confirm that they were both seeing the same thing. Her reaction was less noticeable, but she still had one. She gave a short hum of interest, with her eyes narrowing by only the smallest of margins, which nearly everyone present missed.
Roy, however, noticed both of these actions. He sighed as he realized that their situation here had already moved into the "fucked" category, and stepped out of line to stand slightly behind Ryuko, staring up at the two that were standing above everyone. "They reacted." He said with a slightly bored tone in an attempt to mask the feelings of slight unease he was getting now that they seemed to be actually getting somewhere with their search for answers, letting Ryuko know about their actions, even as his eyes were a bit more focused on the teen standing behind Kiryuin.
For the first time since this exchange began, Philip looked somewhere other than at Ryuko, reacting to Roy having spoken up. As he caught sight of him, his eyes widened a fraction and the grin totally fell from his face, replaced by an expression of open-mouthed surprise. Satsuki, sensing a change, took a brief, barely noticeable glance behind her and took note of his surprise before facing down towards Ryuko once more. Philip held this expression for barely a second before the grin found its way back onto his face, and it was like nothing had ever happened. However, if anyone looked closely, they would see hard focus. Not the joy he usually took in these things - specifically the people getting hurt in these things - but a sense that he was trying very hard to keep his eyes on the altercation in particular, determined not to look where his eyes clearly wanted to wander.
"That's the hugest Scissor Blade ever!" Mako exclaimed from her place in the crowd closer to Ryuko in shock, her hands on her cheeks as she stared at the red blade held in Ryuko's hand.
"Yup. It's one half of a giant pair of scissors. And I've been looking all over the place for the person who's got the other half. Hey Prez, you okay? You look surprised to see this thing… You and the Vice-Prez there… Like maybe you've seen it before? You have seen it before, haven't you?!" Ryuko asked, her voice being a bit sarcastic during the earlier questions, before becoming more serious and heated for the final few as she glared at the two standing on the steps.
Satsuki simply continued to stare down at the two teens on the ground before her, her face unreadable. "And what if I have?" She asked, her tone void of emotion, making Ryuko's eyes widen in surprise, while Roy's narrowed, before his friend's face gained a furious look.
"You have seen it… You've got the other half of my Scissors!" She exclaimed in anger, rushing forwards, and up the stairs towards the two standing at the top, even though all of her focus was on the woman standing closest to her. However, with all her focus on Satsuki, she missed the person leaping towards her. But Roy didn't.
"Ryuko! Dodge!" He shouted, making Ryuko's eyes widen slightly as she moved just a bit, and looked over her shoulder at him.
"Dodge wha-" Unfortunately, doing this caused her to miss the attack aimed at her, and she was promptly hit square in her side by a very oversized boxing glove, and launched into a crowd of gathered One-Stars, many of whom were sent flying, while Roy blinked at what just happened.
"Huh, I guess yelling "dodge" is more distracting than helpful…"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Roared a cackle as Philip totally lost it. He was doubled over, holding his belly as he gasped for air between laughs. "'D-Dodge what,' she says! Hahahaha! Oh no, that shit is priceless! Hahahahahahahaha!" After a few more moments, he succeeded in calming himself down and stood up straight. He wiped a laughter-induced tear from his eye.
"Fukuroda?" Satsuki spoke, not even reacting to Philip's actions behind her.
"Yes." Fukuroda was a short Two-Star student with light green eyes, a shaved head, and a noticeably missing tooth, which was somewhat to be expected because of all the fighting he did due to the nature of his club. His uniform also wasn't the sort of thing you'd expect to see in a school. It was a boxing uniform consisting of a large pair of boxing gloves, a headguard, boxing robe, boxing shorts secured with a championship belt upon which was the Two-Star logo of his uniform, and high-top sneakers. "Takaharu Fukuroda. I'll finish this insolent wench off, with your permission."
[Takaharu Fukuroda]
Due to the placement of the kanji, only Roy was able to take real notice of them at the edge of his vision, but his eye still twitched at the sight of them, even as he kept his focus on where Ryuko had been sent flying towards.
"She's yours." Satsuki said dismissively in response to Fukuroda's question.
"Move it! Out of my way!" Ryuko's voice exclaimed, before a number of One-Stars were shoved to the side as she came charging out of the crowd that she'd been launched into, though the right side of her face had a rather large bruise, and she swung her Scissor Blade down, only for it to be blocked and punched away by the boxing glove that Fukuroda was using, making Roy's eyes narrow at it as Ryuko stepped back slightly after her attack was blocked.
"Is that glove made of iron or something?" She asked in slight confusion, and a good deal of annoyance as Fukuroda gave a grin at Ryuko's reaction.
"Ha! Don't you know a Goku Uniform when you see one?" He asked her, his voice holding a good deal of mocking.
"What? You're not even wearing a uniform." Ryuko said in annoyance, making Fukuroda gain a tick mark in response to her comment.
"What are you talking about? A boxers' uniform means gloves! And trunks! And… Other stuff!" He exclaimed, making Roy tisk as he rolled his eyes at the man's defence. "Plus, Lady Satsuki gave me this Athleticism-Augmenting Two-Star Goku Uniform! It infuses my boxing gloves with their power, making them harder than hard! Stronger than steel!" He exclaimed as he brandished the gloves in question.
Philip's amused expression faded from his face as he sighed. "Don't know what to be more annoyed about." He muttered under his breath. "The long-as-fuck name of his uniform, or the piss-poor innuendoes."
Ryuko didn't even hear Philip's comments as she simply gave a cocky grin towards the Boxing Club president in front of her, still wielding her Scissor Blade in front of her. "I don't get what you're saying… But if they're that hard, I can stop pulling my punches!" She exclaimed, twisting her Blade in front of her so the little sunlight still shining through the clouds that had started to gather overhead glinted off it. In response to this, Fukuroda gained another tick mark as he clenched his teeth in anger.
"You think I can't handle it?!" He yelled in anger at her words, before rushing forwards and sending his left fist flying towards her. "Get ready!" He exclaimed, and seconds later, the giant boxing glove became smaller, as numerous lines of smaller boxing gloves were sent shooting forwards, hitting Ryuko full on in the face, to Roy's surprise at the sight of what this "Goku Uniform" could apparently do. "Here's a left jab to rule your ass!" Fukuroda yelled, the lines of boxing gloves sending Ryuko spinning as each one hit her on her right side, and made her continue spinning with each hit. "And a left hook! And then, a right uppercut to finish you off!" He yelled, the giant boxing glove around his other hand coming around to hit Ryuko right under her chin, and send her flying into the air, before she came crashing back down onto the dirt below.
As rain started to fall, Ryuko laid on the ground, her face a beaten mess, and her clothes slightly ripped from the attacks landed on her by Fukuroda, the girl groaning in pain, and having trouble even breathing. Roy stared at the scene in shock, having never seen Ryuko end up this badly hurt after a fight before, and having a bit of trouble processing it. Meanwhile, at the top of the stairs, Satsuki stared down at the aftermath of the fight with a blank look on her face. Philip looked vaguely disappointed.
"I was hoping you'd prove to be more amusing. But you have no idea how to properly wield your weapon. Fool." She said, as she started to walk away without a second glance. Philip took one last glance down at the display, his eyes lingering on Roy for just a second, before he moved to follow her.
Down on the ground, Ryuko refused to give up as she slowly forced her way to her feet, the hand not holding her Scissor outstretched, and a glare on her face even as her nose bled slightly. "Hold it… You better tell me what you know, or else." She managed to growl, just before Fukuroda planted his fists on the ground with a scowl.
"Shut your mouth!" He exclaimed in anger, before his feet were sent flying forwards, and he used both of his boots to plant a kick Ryuko in the face, causing her to stop moving as they remained in that position. "No one talks to Lady Satsuki that way. No one." He growled at her, his attack making Ryuko grunt in pain as she collapsed to the ground once again. And as Fukuroda planted his feet on the ground after his previous attack… That was the straw that broke the camel's back.
"Bastard!" Roy shouted, jumping over a few One-Stars, and gaining Fukuroda's, Phil's and even Satsuki's attention at the fact that the other transfer student was apparently trying something, despite the previous display and the fact that he didn't seem to have anything on him even remotely similar to the girl's Blade. However, while leaping through the air, Roy reached into his lab coat, and pulled out the long pipe Mataro's friend had been using earlier, before he threw it like a javelin at the Boxing Club President.
"Ha! Do you really think something like that will work against my Goku-" However, he was cut off when, instead of the pipe hitting his helmet, it hit him square between the eyes, making the President flinch at the impact against his bare skin, instead of hitting a part of his body protected by his uniform. Landing in a slight crouch, Roy then took out two chains from beneath his lab coat, gaining a certain amount of attention from Philip, who couldn't for the life of him see where Roy was pulling this stuff from, and then charged forwards, one chain lashing out and wrapping around Fukuroda's arm, while the other wrapped around his neck, Roy skidding to a halt as he wrenched the chains towards him, making Fukuroda get picked up off the ground and pulled towards him.
With that done, Roy let go of the chains, and pulled out yet another lengthy pipe, and got ready to swing it at the Boxing Club President- "Guah!" Only for Fukuroda to utilize Roy's actions for himself and throw a punch forwards with his giant glove, slamming it into the entirety of Roy's front and making him lose his grip on the pipe, causing it to fall to the ground beside him. "Asshole! Don't even try it!" Fukuroda exclaimed as he pulled his fist back after his punch.
Stumbling back after Fukuroda pulled his glove back, Roy managed to plant a foot into the ground, reach into his lab coat with his right hand, and whip it out and pass by Fukuroda's face so fast the President didn't even realize it had happened, until he felt a slight sting on his cheek, and heard a revving sound by the left side of his face, noticing the chainsaw held in Roy's hand, and glancing down at the very small cut present on his left cheek, a small amount of blood making its way to the lowest corner, before trickling a few inches down towards his chin.
The No-Star and One-Star students watching this were shocked at this development, since they'd never seen a Two-Star student get hurt after receiving their Goku Uniform, considering how the Uniforms themselves seemed to bolster a human's abilities, including their toughness.
Satsuki's expression shift was subtle, but it was there. Nobody had ever been able to combat the uniforms like this before, at least not without owning one of the same level or higher. Philip laughed openly at the display. "I could be wrong, Fukuroda." He said, his voice holding a mixture of amusement and mocking. "But isn't it important in boxing to guard your vulnerable points? Statistically speaking, somebody had to be smart enough to aim there eventually. Not everyone in the world is as idiotic as the attendees of this school."
Needless to say, the actions that Roy had taken, as well as Philip's comments, caused numerous tick marks to appear on Fukuroda's head as he glared at the panting teen in front of him, who matched it with one of his own, before growling as he pulled back his left arm, and then sent it flying forwards. "You'll pay for that you bastaaaard!" Fukuroda exclaimed, and a storm of boxing gloves were sent flying into Roy's chest, face and arms, sending the teen reeling backwards, before collapsing onto his back, panting out ragged breaths, and weezing just a bit as the chainsaw sputtered and died beside him.
When this was done, Fukuroda spit to the side with a small scowl still on his face. Philip chuckled at how angry Fukuroda was getting, finding his sensitivity to mockery and actually being damaged amusing. Satsuki had no reaction to give - that had taken an unexpected turn for a moment, but the conclusion had been nothing special. It was disappointing. "Confiscate the girl's Scissor Blade." Satsuki stated, not bothering to look at the two on the ground, now that the fighting was seemingly over.
"Ma'am." Fukuroda agreed, before the sound of a blade stabbing into the earth is heard, and he turned back around to find Ryuko standing in front of him, her face still beat up, but a defiant glare on her face as she stood in front of her blade, even as one hand still held onto it.
"No way. You'll never take this away from me! Never!" She exclaimed, her eyes glaring in defiance, both at the teen standing in front of her, as well as the woman at the top of the stairs who had ordered for it to be taken away in the first place. Then, focusing on Fukuroda once again, she swung her blade in an attempt to slash him, which he dodged without a problem, laughing obnoxiously as he did so.
"I saw that attack coming from a mile away you rookie! I'm a boxer, remember?!" He yelled at her with a wide grin on his face. At his comment, Roy's reeling mind managed to focus on the current events just a bit more, and his bruised eyes narrowed, before he forced himself to his feet as he saw Ryuko miss another swing.
If he's a boxer… He thought to himself as he stumbled a bit, before steadying his footing and then reaching into his coat, and pulling out an item. Moments later, he quickly threw it at Fukuroda, who stopped laughing when the baton hit his cheek. It didn't hurt, but it did distract him and make him turn to the panting teen, surprised along with everyone else still paying attention that the boy had climbed back to his feet, despite how bruised, beaten and bloody he looked, with his clothes just as scuffed up. Then I just need to attack in a way that a boxer wouldn't expect!
Following this thought, Roy reached both hands into his lab coat, and then whipped them out, tossing another baton, as well as another lengthy pipe at Fukudora, who blocked them. However, Roy didn't stop there, and he didn't get any closer either. More pipes, more batons, some rocks, throwing stars, switchblades, chains, wooden planks, a couple trash can lids and even a Kitchen Sink. All were thrown at Fukuroda from Roy's place standing still, and all of them came from out of his lab coat.
As a result, everyone watching could only look on in surprise at what was happening. Sure, it wasn't actually doing all that much to Fukuroda, considering he was wearing a Two-Star Goku Uniform, and actually blocking this time, but he was being pinned for the most part by the rain of items. And speaking of the items, everyone was baffled over where they were coming from, since the teen was doing all of this without a Goku Uniform to help him keep them on his person, and the items seemed to come out of nowhere, from within the lab coat he was wearing.
"Where does he get those wonderful toys?" Philip asked in amusement but also genuine curiosity. Satsuki turned around for the first time since the beatdowns due to his comment and, witnessing this defiance of physics that shouldn't normally be possible without a Goku Uniform, raised an eyebrow. Philip couldn't help but snigger a little at that. Roy wasn't the first person they'd met who could defy physics like this- He cut that particular thought off quickly, though, really not wanting to consider the possibility that they could have a male version of her on their hands here. He didn't think that likely, but it was still a scary thought.
All this being said, however, Fukuroda quickly got fed up with Roy's actions, and batted away a metal chair thrown at him with his right glove, before growling as he threw out his left one. "Damn it all, just die!" He exclaimed, the storm of boxing gloves hitting into Roy once again, causing the air to be blown out of his lungs, before one particular line of the gloves socked him right in the face, and he was sent flying through the air, before tumbling along the ground, and coming to a pained stop near the entrance to the academy.
Ryuko, who had taken the reprieve that Roy's actions had given her, growled at the attack against her friend, and turned to glare at Fukuroda. "Damn you, bastard!" She shouted, even though she was still in pain, and attempted to strike him again. However, Fukuroda effortlessly dodged the attack, a cocky grin appearing on his face once again as he looked at the girl in front of him, who he could easily defeat without a problem, the previous events making him even more elated at being able to lord his abilities over her.
"Oh come on! You couldn't hit me before, what makes you think it'll be different now?! All of your attacks are so straight forwards, and easy to dodge! You haven't got a chance in hell! Ahahahaha-" However, while dodging yet another swipe from Ryuko, he tripped, despite Ryuko not doing anything to cause it, which caused him to face plant directly into the mud below him.
Philip looked down upon Fukuroda in disgust, his earlier amusement at Roy's actions now nowhere to be seen. "Are you really so fucking useless that you trip on quite literally nothing?" He asked derisively. He was beginning to seriously doubt Fukuroda's worth. "I think you'd have more use as a landmine detector."
With Fukuroda falling to the ground, and Philip's attention focused on demeaning him, Ryuko used the opportunity it gave her, and turned around, rushing back towards the Academy's entrance. "Sweet." She managed to gasp out, knowing this was possibly her only chance. As she ran, Mako watched her in surprise and a bit of confusion.
"Huh? Ryuko? Are ya' going home?!" She shouted after her new friend as Ryuko grabbed Roy, and continued running, hitting the front of a delivery man's moped as she did so, and causing him to fall off it. Taking the opportunity, she leapt onto it, and put Roy behind her.
"I need to borrow your bike, thanks!" She shouted at the man lying on the ground, turning the moped around and driving off moments later. As she did so, the man couldn't get up, but managed to shake a fist above him in anger.
"Asshole! What about my deliveries?!" He shouted after her, before watching in shock as she turned around, drove back, dropped off the deliveries on the ground by his head so he could still take care of them, and then sped off down the road away from the academy once again.
As this happened, Fukuroda finally managed to make his way to the entrance, before he watched as she drove off with a scowl. "Damn it." He muttered, before turning back towards the gathered students. "One thing's for sure, she knows how to retreat." He said in annoyance at her and the teen who'd pelted him with items getting away.
As all of this was happening, no one knew about the teacher from Class K watching from his classroom with a pair of binoculars, lowering them even as he continued to stare at the entrance where Ryuko and Roy had fled from…
The darkening of the sky and the rain pouring outside created a grim, sinister atmosphere around Honnouji Academy more befitting of its nature. But to those we focus on inside, high up and deep within the building, the weather was not even a tickle inside their minds. The Student Council Room sat at the end of a long, dark corridor, guarded by two One-Star students. Not that anybody inside needed guarding, of course. The guards did well to remain stone-faced despite the sounds of pain coming from inside.
Piano music played inside the brightly-lit room, failing to drown out the sounds of the impacts or the pain filled grunts that followed them.
"You!" Whack! A cry of pain. "Idiot!" Whack! Snap!
The bamboo sword broke against Fukuroda as his punishment came to a close. Despite the harsh treatment, he did not complain. He was kneeling before the one punishing him and just taking it. "I'm… Sorry, sir." He managed to speak through the pain.
Satsuki witnessed this in silence, giving no indication that she was even paying attention, as her butler, Mitsuzo Soroi, a tall, thin old man with dark eyes and a neatly-groomed receding hairline, poured her tea. Philip stood not far away from her, witnessing the punishment of the Boxing Club President with unrestrained glee.
"You let her mock Lady Satsuki, you let her escape, and you failed to confiscate her weapon as ordered!" Gamagori yelled. "A mistake made by a member of a club you run is your mistake, Sanageyama!"
[Disciplinary Committee Chair]
[Ira Gamagori]
Philip blinked in confusion at the kanji that popped up, tilting his head to the side. I don't… Think that's ever happened before. He thought.
"Yeah, I know!" Sanageyama, the one who had been punishing Fukuroda, snapped back in annoyance. He had mid-length, dark green hair with some bangs falling at the centre of his face and grey eyes. His uniform took the appearance of a long, white coat with a high collar, a built-in sword sheath at the back, and three spikes on each shoulder. The coat was open at the front, splitting the Three-Star emblem right down the middle and revealing a cadet-blue vest beneath. His trousers and shoes shared the same white colour as his coat, and a belt with three metal spikes at the front held up his trousers. "You think I've been punishing him for kicks here?!" He threw the remains of his bamboo sword away in frustration.
"I would be." Philip spoke up.
"Yeah, we all know you would, but we aren't all total psychos." Sanageyama threw back. "And by the way, the Disciplinary Committee should've stepped in when she dissed Lady Satsuki. And that's your mistake, Gamagori." He commented with just the slightest smirk as he redirected a good deal of the blame away from him.
[Athletic Committee Chair]
[Uzu Sanageyama]
It happened again. Philip noted, growing concerned about the state of his mental health. Though to be fair, that was a concern he'd had for a while now. Am I going mental?
"I've found some intel on the new students." Inumuta said, typing on his laptop. He had neat, teal hair with bangs hanging down all over his forehead. The colour of his eyes was difficult to discern due to his blue-tinted glasses, but they were green. His uniform was the most normal of the bunch, being a regular white male student's uniform for the most part, though his collar was higher than the norm and usually covered his mouth, only opening when he spoke, such as right now. The biggest oddity, however, were the light blue wires which linked from his cuffs to his belt to his collar. There was even one connecting his trouser legs near the bottom. Philip turned all of his attention to Inumuta, interested in hearing this part. "The girl has apparently been starting fights at high schools in the eastern Kanto Region. At schools ruled by Honnouji Academy."
[Information and Strategy Chair]
[Houka Inumuta]
Philip was paying too much attention to what Inumuta was saying at this point to think about the kanji again, but one of his eyes twitched at them popping up just the same.
"Apparently, they were personal spats." Inumuta continued. "That's why we never received reports."
"Such negligence." Said Satsuki. "Inform our branches to keep an eye out for her."
"At once, milady." Inumuta agreed, bowing his head.
"How shocking." Jakuzure spoke mockingly from her chair, which was surrounded by all manner of stuffed animals, and a few orchestra instruments. The only girl on the council besides Satsuki, she was on the short and slender side with long pink hair that she kept tied short, with two longer tails hanging down on either side of her face, and pink eyes. Her uniform was a white conductor's uniform with feathers atop her tall hat, a skull on its front, and small wings on either side. Her white boots also had wings on them, something which always made Philip think of the Winged Sandals of Hermes. "The Toad, the Monkey, and the Dog all screwed up big time. All we need is the Hyena and we've got the whole set."
[Non-Athletic Committee Chair]
[Nonon Jakuzure]
"Too bad for you that I'm no screw-up." Philip shot back.
Inumuta cleared his throat. "As for the boy, there's less on him than there is on her." He continued, typing away at his laptop again for a couple seconds. "He's an American. It would seem that she does most of the actual fighting, which is why very few people have taken note of her friend by comparison. From what I can gather from the intel we do have, he kept her from attacking first. Nobody ever noticed until afterwards, but it would appear that he intentionally manipulated the situations in such a way as to make a claim of self defence a viable one should they get into trouble. This matches up with the rest of the data. Not one of these incident reports claims that the girl attacked first. Today appears to be unique in that regard."
Clever bastard. Philip thought to himself. I'm really hoping you are who I think you are… Or maybe I'm not. As nice as it would be to have him here, I'm not sure how much I want him in the middle of all this.
"Hey, Lady Satsuki." Jakuzure said. "You wanted to have that blade confiscated. Is it something we should be that worried about?"
Satsuki set down her tea before responding. "It's a weapon designed to combat Goku Uniforms." She revealed, startling everyone but Philip, who already knew this.
"How does she have a weapon like that?" Gamagori asked.
Satsuki turned around in her chair. "What are their names?" She asked.
Inumuta did some typing on his laptop. "Ryuko Matoi and Roy… Butler, milady." He sounded genuinely surprised for a moment when he read the name Butler.
"Butler?" Gamagori asked, picking up on the same thing.
Sanageyama turned to Philip. "He an American cousin of yours or something?" He asked.
"Not that I'm aware of, but I'll call home and ask later." Philip responded. He was keeping better composure than he had when the day's previous surprises had been sprung. This fact surprised even himself. This new guy was exactly who he thought he was.
"There's no need." Inumuta brushed him off, doing some more typing on his laptop. "It should be easy enough to find the answer by going through his family tree." He did some more typing. "…Sanageyama is right. Although it's no wonder you don't know. According to this, his side of your family moved to Japan shortly after his birth and died not long later. He dropped off the radar entirely after that and only resurfaced with Matoi."
"Oooh, a little family drama." Said Jakuzure. "You sure you don't know this guy, Butler? The whole 'long lost relative becomes enemy' thing seems way too cliché to be real." She commented with a smirk directed at him.
"I'm positive." Philip said. "I've barely been away from Lady Satsuki since I was eight years old. If this cousin of mine has been in Japan since birth and I only moved here when I was eight, it's highly unlikely we'd have met. There's just no opportunity." He grinned savagely at her. "Of course, Nonon, if you want to keep on doubting me, I can convince you in other ways…"
"Yeah, that psycho shit ain't intimidating me." She shot his threat down. "We both know you wouldn't hurt anybody here." She glanced down at Fukuroda, who was still doubled over on the ground. "Him, on the other hand, you can wail on to your heart's content."
"Nah." Philip denied. "I've got no interest in Uzu's sloppy seconds." Internally, however, his thoughts were far from all of this. So, Roy's here, and we're apparently related… Which is a whole thing in and of itself that I really can't be bothered to process right now. And he's hanging with a girl named Matoi… I wonder what the chances are that's unrelated.
At the same time these events were happening, in the mountain range on the mainland only a short distance away from the coast where Honnouji Academy was built, the burnt down remains of what could be assumed was a mansion remained only barely standing. Outside, the moped that Ryuko had "borrowed" was parked, and looking at the plaque it was set next to, one could find out that this mansion actually belonged to her family, since her name, as well as her father's name "Isshin" were written on it.
Very few remains were actually left in the wreckage, but a couple had survived mostly undamaged, including a very small number of books, which were steadily getting more damaged due to all the rain they'd been sitting in, as well as a couple of picture frames. One of which showed a younger, mostly bored looking Ryuko in the picture, with a bearded man being seen beside her. Unfortunately, the head of the person who the beard belonged to was burnt away, no doubt caused by the fire that burnt down the mansion.
As for the second picture frame, it was turned on it's side, but as Ryuko made her way past it, she almost instinctively fixed it, setting it up so that it could show another picture of a younger Ryuko, in the same outfit, but with a bright, closed eye smile on her face as she gave a peace sign towards the camera, a younger looking Roy, who was the same age as the Ryuko in the picture, standing beside her as he gave his own smile towards the camera, with his fists raised above his head.
After passing them, Ryuko continued walking until she was standing in the middle of the burnt down mansion, not really staring at anything as she simply let the rain fall on her. "Father…" She muttered, her memories going back to the last time she'd found him, rushing into the mansion with Roy at her side, and finding him with the red Scissor Blade sticking out of his stomach, before chasing after a person who was wielding a purple version of it as they fled the scene.
With the rush of memories, came an overwhelming sense of anger and shame, which caused her to stab her blade into the dirt in front of her, and stare at the ground. "I'm sorry father… I was this close to finding out who killed you." She continued, gritting her teeth at the thought as she held onto the handle of her blade with both hands. "If only I was strong enough I'd beat it out of her!" She exclaimed, glaring down at the point of her Scissor.
Moments later, the rain stopped falling on her, and she looked to the side to see Roy standing there, his lab coat removed and held over her to shield her from the rain. "Ryuko… It's alright." He muttered, having only a bit more trouble talking due to how much more damage he had taken than her, thanks to the annoyance he'd caused the Boxing Club President. "We'll get stronger, and then we'll get the info we want from her. We got this far, haven't we?" He asked, his bruised face turning up into a slightly grimaced smile, even as the rain fell onto him as he shielded her from it.
Ryuko continued to stare at Roy's face, her own becoming slightly less angered in response. However, before anything else could be said, the two suddenly felt the earth drop out from under them, and barely had a moment to react before they started falling into the trap door that had opened beneath them, causing them to scream out in shock and a small amount of fear at their current position.
Meanwhile, as the doors closed once again, their homeroom teacher remained standing behind a wall that was only a few feet from where they'd been standing previously, a remote in his hands as he watched the doors close, before using his free hand to grab his glasses, and then push them up and off his face. As a result of doing it this way, he also slicked back his hair some, and the rest of his face became less "scruffy" in appearance, and was actually shown to be fairly appealing, with bright blue iris', and angled eyes.
"You should be careful what you wish for… Ryuko Matoi." He muttered, even as she and Roy fell down the passageway they'd fallen into, banging against the walls, and being forced down the tighter portions. As this happened, Roy wondered why said smaller portions even existed, before his attention was instead brought to the pain he felt when a number of his injuries hit against some corners on the way down, making him give exclamations of pain, while Ryuko did her best to stab her Scissor Blade into a wall to halt their fall. Unfortunately, it didn't work as they crashed through some weak stone, and fell into a large room underground. Fortunately, they fell onto a large, relatively soft pile of clothing, softening their landing, even as a ton of dust was kicked up as a result.
As the two groaned in slight pain, Roy noticed how a good deal of sunlight was actually streaming down into the room, and saw that there were a good number of holes in the ceiling, which the rain was falling through. "I never knew we had such a big basement." Ryuko managed to groan slightly, getting a grunt of agreement from Roy.
"Yeah, well, we didn't really spend much time at this place, did we?" He asked, pushing himself up, but flinching at the action as Ryuko gave her own hiss of pain, looking down at the single cut she'd gained from the fight against Fukuroda earlier, which was bleeding.
"Damn. I tore open that cut again." She muttered as the blood seeped down her arm, and into the clothes beneath her. At the same time, Roy pressed his palms against the clothing pile, while he bled from his arms, as a part of his red shirt that covered his waist became a slightly darker red.
"Yeah, well, I think that fall tore open all the injuries I got…" He muttered as he simply remained there, panting a bit. Ryuko flinched slightly at that, before looking around.
"Well, better look for a way out and get medical supplies, then." She grunted, pushing herself up and grabbing her Scissor Blade. At her words, Roy turned his attention to her, before glancing at the clothing piles surrounding them.
"Better idea." He said, getting her attention. "We rip some of these into pieces, and use them as makeshift bandages for now." He muttered, pushing himself up slightly as he grabbed onto a T-shirt, ripped the sleeve off it and tied it around a cut on his arm.
"Yeah, alright. That's not a bad idea." Ryuko agreed, making her way back over and picking up a T-shirt of her own to make into a bandage. At the same time, Roy glanced at the lab coat he was wearing, and noticed that any and all damage it had gotten from Fukuroda earlier had disappeared, giving a slightly weak chuckle at the sight. "I'm still not really used to that…" He said, shaking his head as he finished tying another makeshift bandage into a knot around his leg. As this was happening, neither one noticed the clothing pile shift a few feet away from them.
However, while Ryuko was in the middle of wrapping the makeshift bandage around her cut, she suddenly heard a different noise, rather than the two of them bandaging themselves.
"Wait…"
She stilled slightly at the new, unrecognizable voice speaking, and looked around, before turning to look at Roy, who was now wrapping up the last of his wounds. "Did you say something?" She asked, making him stop, before looking up at her with a raised eyebrow.
"No…" He muttered, even as his eyes narrowed, and he glanced around them, Ryuko doing the same.
"More… Give me more…" The voice said again, sounding almost a bit desperate, but echoing around the room so that Ryuko couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from.
"Who's there?!" She shouted, looking around, while Roy looked at her in slight surprise, before glancing around the room slowly, knowing that Ryuko wasn't one to hear things that weren't there, and if she was hearing something, then there was something around them…
"More… I need more… Give me more… More!" And with that last shout, a shape suddenly flew out of the pile Roy was sitting on, getting the attention of both of them, and making Ryuko slash at it. However, it turned out to be a distraction, as a different shape leapt out of the pile, it's eyes glowing yellow, and mouth open in a wide grin, but it's position caused it to be hard to distinguish due to the light shining behind it, causing both teens to be forced to shield their eyes. However, their eyes adjusted after a few short moments, and Ryuko stared at the sight that greeted her in surprise.
"The hell?! Is that a… Sailor uniform?!" She shouted in shock. And sure enough, it was just that. The only thing was, it seemed to be alive, considering it was moving on its own, and forced Ryuko against the brick wall she was standing in front of. The primary color was navy blue, but the ends of the sleeves and the neckline were both red. The scarf was also red, but looked more like eyes due to both their position and designs, with the right one being covered in a "scarred injury", while the left had a black pupil, orange and red iris, and yellow scrella. The uniform's sleeves pressed Ryuko's arms against the wall, and her Scissor Blade dropped to the ground, while it's skirt was pressed against her stomach to help keep it in place.
"Don't leave! Put me on! Put me on!" the uniform shouted, it's eye actually getting slightly bloodshot as it used it's sleeves to start to pull down her jacket and shirt, making Ryuko blush in embarrassment due to its actions.
"No! You perv!" She shouted, and her shouting knocked Roy out of the shock he'd gone into when the, apparently alive, uniform had leapt out of the clothing pile on it's own, making him push himself up.
"Hey, get the hell away from her you damn-!" Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do much as he stumbled slightly from a mixture of his uneven footing and the blood loss caused by his reopened wounds, and ended up rolling down the clothing pile as the uniform continued to argue with Ryuko.
"Wear me! And feed me blood! I don't want to go back to sleep!" It shouted, it's voice now revealed to be obviously male.
"You talk?! Sailor uniforms don't talk!" Ryuko shouted in shock, even as her face continued to blush along her cheeks and nose at what this thing was doing to her.
"We're wasting time! Don't be scared! Put me on! Put me on! Put me on!" The uniform continued to shout at her, even as she stared at it with wide eyes, and just a bit of fear on her face.
"Oh my god, where'd you learn to talk?!" She shouted.
"That's not important right now!" The uniform exclaimed, as it then forced Ryuko to the ground, dust being kicked up. At the same time, Roy was attempting to push himself up, his face filled with surprise and confusion, since he could only hear Ryuko yelling, and yet she almost seemed like she was arguing with the clothing attacking her.
"It is important! When do uniforms talk?!" She shouted, still struggling against the clothing even inside the cloud of dust.
"Stop talking! If you don't put me on right now, I'll force you to put me on!" The uniform exclaimed, and seconds later, Ryuko's other clothes, except for her underwear, were thrown aside and out of the dust cloud even as Ryuko yelled at him to stop, Roy blushing slightly at the sight and what it meant. "There! Y'see?! A perfect fit!" The uniform exclaimed. Moments later, a bright red light filled the area inside the dust cloud where Ryuko and the uniform were, as Ryuko shouted, making Roy struggle to push himself up off the ground.
"Ryuko!" He shouted in worry, watching as the red light flashed once again, even as the dust cloud dispersed, and he could see his friend making her way to her feet. However, red lightning seemed to surge around her as she was hunched over holding her chest, making him worry as she groaned and stumbled. Seconds later, she gave a roar as the red lightning coalesced into a beam of light that shot into the sky, while glimmering stars surrounded her figure as this happened, and forced Roy to cover his eyes. "Ryuko!" He shouted in worry.
After a few seconds, the light began to die down, and Roy was able to lower his arm, and look at where he'd last seen his friend. The sight that greeted him caused his eyes to widen in shock...
Back at Honnouji Academy, a boxing ring had been set up in the courtyard. This particular boxing ring had chains around the edges instead of ropes. At the centre of the ring stood Sanageyama and Fukuroda. "Hey, transfer students!" Fukuroda shouted. His voice, which was being transmitted through the P.A. system around Honno Town, echoed. "You listening?! An hour from now, we're going to execute your little friend! She's an accessory to your crime of treason against Honnouji Academy! If you want to save her life, quit hiding like cowards! Show yourselves!"
As the announcement finished, some of the people near the back of the crowd in front of the academy's entrance actually noticed the moped the new girl in question had "borrowed" earlier that day, now leaning against the wall with a sign on top, which read "Sorry for borrowing without permission". What they couldn't tell just by glancing at it was that there was some money in the small compartment it had, in order to reimburse the owner for the money he'd likely lost during the time he didn't have his moped.
From inside the school, the staff watched what was unfolding outside. "Mr. Principal, the Student Council are animals." Ryuko and Roy's homeroom teacher, who once more had the appearance of the "scruffy teacher", said to the old man who ran the school only on paper. "Do something."
"This doesn't concern us, so stay out of it." Said the principal in a resigned tone of voice. "Kiryuin's mother is the chair of the academy's board of directors, therefore Lady Satsuki is our lord and master. We work for her, so there's nothing we can do about it."
Satsuki herself was watching from the highest point of the academy. Philip stood dutifully behind her, his hood up over his head now. It caused an unnerving effect wherein only the bottom half of his face was visible, but somehow his eyes stuck out of the shadows, so all people could see was his wide grin and that piercing glare of his eyes. Inumuta, Gamagori, and Jakuzure stood even further behind him.
"Using a hostage is kinda cliché, don't ya think?" Sanageyama asked Fukuroda.
"If I fail again, my Goku Uniform's gonna be confiscated." Fukuroda said seriously. "Since Mankanshoku is the only one we know of who actually spoke to the new students, I don't have any other option."
Sanageyama smiled at him. "It sounds like you got your priorities straight." He praised him. "Good. Now get out there. Prove yourself."
Mako, who had been hanging upside down behind them this whole time, squirmed as she tried to push her thighs together to prevent her undergarments from being seen by all the spectators. Her shirt had already fallen and was giving everyone around a generous shot of underboob. "Oh man, oh man, this is bad! Everyone at school's gonna see my underwear now! I should've worn my sexy panties today!"
"Bring out the vat!" Fukuroda ordered, and two One-Star students, dressed in hoodies that signified them as members of Fukuroda's club, arrived with a clear, square vat of bubbling liquid. The crowd gawped as it was wheeled towards the ring. "Ta-da!" Fukuroda produced a shrimp, which looked comically small in his hands while he was wearing those massive boxing gloves, before he tapped it against some flour held in a tray that another club member brought out, coating the shrimp in it.
"Hey, it's a shrimp." Said one observer.
"No way, it is!" Said another.
Fukuroda promptly dipped the shrimp into the bubbling liquid. The shrimp was surrounded by bubbles and obscured from view, only coming back into everyone's line of sight when Fukuroda withdrew it from the liquid, which was now a darker yellow. It was totally cooked.
"Hey, that's oil!" Someone realised.
"He fried that sucker!"
"Dude, he's gonna fry her!"
"Ooh, fried shrimp!"
Mako, meanwhile, was understandably panicking… Though not for the reasons literally anyone else would be panicking. "If you guys dip me in the oil, everyone's gonna see right through my uniform! This is bad, this is so not good!"
Nice to see she's got her priorities straight. Philip thought, cracking a grin.
"Either that girl is incredibly brave, or incredibly stupid." Sanageyama said in a deadpan.
Meanwhile in the crowd, Mataro and his crew scowled at the events playing out, the four of them holding the same weapons as before, but only slightly different due to Roy taking the ones they used earlier, with Mataro wielding a baseball bat with nails in it. "Hang in there sis. I'm comin' to-" However, he cut himself off when he felt something grab onto his arm, and turned towards it to find a person in a brown cloak holding onto it. A glance under the hood revealed that it was Ryuko, before he felt something else on his other arms' shoulder, and turned to find Roy, now wearing a black cloak.
"Guess you still got heart for your family, huh little man?" He asked with a grin, keeping his hold on the kid's shoulder as Ryuko gave her friend a nod, and then leapt up into the air. As a result, a gust of wind was blown up, surprising the people around her as their clothes were affected, and they closed their eyes to avoid the wind affecting them.
Mere moments later, Ryuko used a few of the One-Star Boxing club members' faces to run along the crowd, her Scissor Blade being pulled out from under her cloak, which she stabbed into the device holding Mako, freeing one of her shins, while Ryuko's feet, which for some reason were now wearing red high-heel like boots, pressed against it just above the younger girl's arms, who was staring at Ryuko in surprise. "Ryuko!" She exclaimed in surprise, before the girl in question broke the shackle around Mako's other shin, making the younger girl squeak a bit as she slid down the device slightly.
"Hold on tight, okay?" Ryuko told her new friend, before breaking the last couple shackles around her wrists, and then grabbing Mako and leaping up as she stored her Scissor Blade under her cloak again, dodging the five Boxing Club members that leapt at them. As a result, they all fell onto the pile of flour, before their combined weight caused it to fall, dumping them all into the oil beneath them. They were all quick to clamber out of it, shouting in pain, with all five of them covered in cooked flour.
As this happened, Ryuko spun through the air with Mako in her grip, before landing in the boxing ring in front of Fukuroda, Mako held sideways under her arm as the Boxing Club President gave her a satisfied grin. "So new girl, we meet again." He greeted her. At the same time, Roy leapt out of the crowd and into the ring, gaining Fukuroda's attention, but not for long as all he did was grab Mako, and leap back out so that she wouldn't get caught in the middle of what was to come.
"Using a hostage to get me here is pretty low." Ryuko commented, annoyance present in her voice as she slowly drew out her Scissor Blade once again. "You wanna fight so bad? Well here I am. So let's duke it out, one on one." She stated, getting her blade ready, while it was also revealed that she seemed to be wearing gloves. In response to her words, Fukuroda continued grinning.
"You're not in the club, but I can make an exception today." He told her, before scowling. "Get ready!" He shouted, lowering the mic and tossing it aside as a bell rang, and a scantily clad Card Girl came out holding a "Round 1" card, giggling slightly as she did so while the ring was surrounded by cheering male No-Stars. "I'm gonna haze you, like a freshman!" Fukuroda shouted, punching his left fist forwards, which had the unfortunate side-effect of sending the Card Girl flying due to being in the way of his attack.
Roy, noticing this, was quick to leap up onto one of the corner poles, and use it to jump higher in order to catch the girl before she could be launched into the crowd, and possibly gain even more injuries from the tumble she would likely take. As a result, he skid on his feet slightly after landing, and let the Card Girl down onto her own two feet as she opened her eyes in shock at not getting hurt, looking at him in surprise for his actions. "Be careful." He told her, before making his way back towards the ring.
Philip chuckled a bit as he observed these events taking place. "Now there's a harem protagonist moment if I've ever seen one." He commented, before turning back towards the ring.
At the same time as Roy was saving the Card Girl, the fight had started, with a storm of boxing gloves shooting out of Fukuroda's left glove towards Ryuko, before richoteing off her, into the surrounding chains, and then bouncing all over the place, pelting her from every direction. "Yeah! You like that?! The ring's filling up with my Juggernaut of Left Jabs!" He yelled, the gloves filling the ring, and then flowing out of it, before Fukuroda closed in on her. "Aaaand here comes, a right striiiiike- Sike! It's reeeeaaallly a corkscrew!" He exclaimed, his straight hit instead acting more like a drill, as the Goku Uniform enhanced glove spun around on Fukuroda's hand. "Ten! Ken! Fu! Sai!" He exclaimed, as the hit got closer and closer to Ryuko. However, the girl in question simply continued to glare forwards at the oncoming attack, not moving an inch.
Moments later, the sounds of hits ringing out could be heard… And the cloak that Ryuko was wearing was caught in the attack and ripped apart, revealing she'd actually blocked it with her Scissor Blade… While also revealing much more. The sight that greeted the audience caused nearly every man present in the audience to shout out in excitement, while numerous girls blushed a bright red. As it turned out, the gloves and boots were only a part of Ryuko's change in attire. And off to the side, Roy blushed a bright red at seeing Ryuko out from under the cloak, despite having seen her current appearance already just under an hour ago.
Her red high-heel boots were attached to red and black stockings that led up to her thighs, with suspenders connecting it to a red skirt. At the same time, said black skirt had red suspenders attaching it to the upper portion of her outfit, which had white triangles covering the very tips of her breasts, attached to a mostly black set of upper clothing that covered her shoulders, neck, and arms with red highlights, along with gloves that also had red highlights. A third suspender was present in the back, which connected the skirt to a relatively small triangular piece of the outfit, which seemed to have vents in it. At the same time, the "eyes" that the outfit had, were now present on the very front, with the "injured" one being more obvious, as there was an actual cut in that portion of the suit. At the same time, hardly visible were two stubs similar to horns present in her hair.
In response to this reveal of Ryuko's outfit, Philip cracked another grin, though not a perverted one as you might expect. He was a bit numb to that sort of thing at this point, due to what he'd been forced to go through over the years. "Looks like we've hit a solid 15 rating here. Might need to start escorting the underage viewers out." He said, his grin widening just a bit. However, what happened moments later whipped that grin from his face.
{Play: Kill la Kill OST - Blumenkranz}
Unlike the kanji that had started popping up, Philip did have some experience with a personal soundtrack. He had actually gotten himself checked by a doctor for musical tetanus once because of that. This particular sound was that very song, and it made him want to dart his head around the area to find the one it was coming from, his pupils thinned to pin-pricks in a brief moment of genuine panic. It passed, though, and nobody noticed because of the hood effect.
Meanwhile on the ground, Roy raised a single eyebrow as he glanced at the sky for a moment, before focusing back on the ring despite the blush on his face. "Huh, was wondering when this shit would start…" He muttered to himself as he listened to the music that played in his ears as he kept his focus on the events in front of him.
Meanwhile in the ring, Fukuroda gasped, before he attempted to speak. "W-w-w-w-what the hell are you wearing?!" He managed to get out, staring at Ryuko's current appearance with wide eyes, as the girl in question blushed at all the attention on her.
"None of your business!" She argued, continuing to shield herself against the boxer's glove pressing against her blade.
"Y-you're cheating! T-trying to distract me with your sexiness!" He accused the girl, making her blush deepen a bit.
"It's not my fault it's like this!" She shouted at him, as sweat started to appear on the man's face, even as he continued to stare at her bare waist, and mostly bare breasts.
"You slut! How dare you?! You're mocking the gentleman's sport!" He shouted. However, moments later, his eyes widened even more, and his tongue hung out of his mouth as he shamelessly ogled Ryuko's current appearance, while the girl in question continued to try and argue against his words.
"I am not!" She shouted, while off to the side, Roy's eye twitched and he growled as he got over his own flustered state, and saw the man ogling his best friend, his teeth grinding in anger. That being said, his anger did make him think of ways to get back at him, and as a result, he thought back to what was said near the beginning of this fight… About how this basically wasn't even an official "match"... And how he could use that to his advantage…
However, even as he thought this, Fukuroda stepped back, a grin on his face as he let his fists rest at his side. "Alright." He simply stated, before placing his gloves on his shorts, and pressing down slightly. "In that case I'm stripping down too." He continued, licking his teeth slightly as he did so, making Ryuko and Roy stare at him in surprise, before Ryuko's blush deepened just a bit more, and she closed her eyes.
"Now who's doing the mocking?!" She shouted.

However, a tag on the right boxer's glove got caught on the shorts, and as a result, the cloth came undone, showing the true form of the boxing glove, and making Ryuko stare in shock, while Roy's eyes widened at the new reveal.
"Time to take off the soft gloves I wear for away bouts and bring the pain." He declared, as the glove that had been held inside of the outer cloth layer was shown to be rectangular, with three triangles on the end of it.
"What?!" Ryuko exclaimed in shock, before Fukuroda raised the glove into the air above him with a self-satisfied grin on his face.
"Behold! This is what the real Honnouji Academy Boxing Club Athleticism-Augmenting Gloves look like!" He yelled, before raising his other gloved hand, and pulling on a chain, causing numerous spikes to protrude from all sides of the solid "glove", and the triangles at the end to gain edges and extend a bit more, his grin widening as he did so. "Wha-ha!" He shouted.
Philip groaned in annoyance. "I swear to God, I'm going to fucking gut whoever came up with these names…" He said in displeasure. "Hear that, Shiro?!"
Back down in the ring, Fukuroda continued his announcement. "I bet you're asking yourself, "why did he wrap them?". If I didn't, the challengers from other schools would be too scared to fight me! But when I bare them for all the world to see, I feel even stronger! It's my, Goku-Uni-Form!" He yelled, not knowing that his words caused the eyes of the Vice-President standing high above him to twitch.
"I don't care what anyone says, I'm gonna fucking kill him after this. Slowly." Philip said, frowning. "These innuendoes suck in all the worst ways."
Meanwhile, Ryuko simply stared at the sight in front of her in bewilderment. "I don't know the rules of boxing, but I'm pretty sure those things are illegal." She said, before grinning. "Oh well, bring it on." She said. And as a result, only seconds later the bell rang, and the Card Girl climbed into the ring once again, with only a slight bruise on her waist, as she held up a card reading "Round 2", once again smiling for the crowd as she did so. Unfortunately, Fukuroda didn't seem to want to wait as long this time as he was quick to charge forwards.
Noticing this, Roy leapt through the ring, grabbing the Card Girl as he did so, and getting her out of the way just as the teen rushed through the area she was standing in moments before, since Roy was scared if he didn't, the Boxing Club Principal would've simply hit her out of the way again, and if he did so with these versions of the gloves, he wasn't sure she'd survive…
"I couldn't tell what you were hiding under that cloak of yours, but now that you're half naked, I'm gonna rip that bikini to shreds, and send you flying!" Fukuroda shouted as he charged forwards, his glove once more spinning into a drill-shape, but now much more deadly than before. However, in response to this, Ryuko simply continued to stare at him as he closed in, once more showing no signs of actually doing anything. However, unlike last time when her raising her Scissor Blade to block was hidden under her cloak, this time around everything was plain to see, and everyone watched as she didn't even move a muscle to block the attack heading straight for her for this attack.
Seconds later, the glove impacted her, and cracks could be heard echoing through the air by everyone in attendance, making Fukuroda grin in satisfaction since he was sure it was her "armor" cracking, while Ryuko simply continued staring at him, and pretty much all the other males in the crowd got excited… Before it was revealed that it was the glove that was cracking, when the front half shattered into pieces around the two fighters, making Fukuroda's eyes widen. "W-what the hell?!" He shouted in shock, as Ryuko simply continued to stand in the same place as before, neither her body nor outfit showing any signs of damage whatsoever. "M-my glove!" He continued, still not over the shock.
"Looks like your glove's not the only thing that turns to steel! So does my outfit!" Ryuko exclaimed, making Fukuroda flinch at her words as he continued to stare at the sight in front of him, before growling, and then attempting to pepper Ryuko with punches from both his gloves, and even kicks from his boots. "Impossible! Impossible! Impossible! Impossible! Impossible!" However, despite his attempts, nothing worked.
"Jeez, you call those punches?! Cause I'm not feeling anything!" Ryuko shouted at the teen trying to attack her to no avail.
"And the plot thickens…" Philip said as he watched Fukuroda pathetically flailing his fists at Ryuko's outfit.
"Whoa! What's she wearing?" Jakuzure asked.
"I think it's a Goku Uniform." Said Inumuta.
Satsuki tilted her head upwards slightly. "Huh?"
"Not helped by the fact that Fukuroda is clearly an idiot." Philip said derisively. "Hey, asshole! Why not try aiming for the parts that aren't covered, you pillock?! Like the guy who gave you that cut did earlier!"
Meanwhile, down on the ground, Mako watched the events in surprise, before punching her fist into the air. "Woah! I didn't know Ryuko knew how to box!" She exclaimed, punching the air to her left as she said this, making Mataro slide over to give her a deadpan look out of the corner of his eyes.
"Yeah, I don't think she really does." He said, before focusing on the fight in question as Fukuroda continued to fail to do anything, practically ignoring Philip's words. "But she's totally freaking awesome! So awesome! So unbelievably awesome!" He shouted, at first actually focused on how good she was doing in the fight, before his attention was once more brought to her current appearance instead.
Meanwhile, Roy, who could hear most of the comments about his friend, while at the same time watching Fukuroda's actions, gained a tick mark as his eye twitched, before leaping up onto the chains on the ring behind Ryuko, gaining her attention as she continued to ignore the teen trying and failing to attack her. "I need to let off steam. Tag me in, would you?" He asked, making Ryuko raise an eyebrow, her blush darkening once again at the reminder that her friend was watching all this, before doing as he asked and slapping his hand with her own. With that done, Roy glared down at Fukuroda. "Oy! Dumbass!" He shouted, getting the teen's attention. "Know when it's useless and give up!" He shouted, before he used the chains to leap up high above the teen, reach into his lab coat by his waist with both hands, and pull out-
Philip blinked in surprise as his jaw dropped a little. "…Is that a fucking steamroller?" He asked in shock.
Inumuta looked down and did some quick calculations on his phone. When he looked back at the fight, he had come to a conclusion. "This doesn't seem physically possible." He said bluntly.
"Where the hell does that guy keep all this stuff?" Jakuzure asked. Then her expression became one of disgust. "On second thought, I really don't wanna know."
Everyone else in the crowd could only gape in shock and awe at the sight of Roy holding a large yellow steamroller above the ring, since that just broke every law of physics they knew about due to just how large it was, when he wasn't wearing a Goku Uniform. At the same time, while shocked, Mako was also amazed at what one of her new friends could do, and stared at the sight above with wide eyes. "Wooooaaaahhhh!" She shouted, stars in her eyes. "So cool!"
Moments later, Roy fell to the earth, and brought the steamroller with him, which he slammed down on top of Fukuroda's body, the teen in question giving an exclamation of shock and pain at the attack, since it was just too much for his uniform to defend against. Moments later, Roy pulled out two of the gloves Fukuroda had been shooting earlier out of his lab coat where he'd stored them, and started to batter the vehicle, and the person beneath it, with punches, causing Fukuroda to let out even more shouts of pain as Roy began to yell a single word, repeating it with each punch, and causing a few people to actually perk up a bit as they started to recognize his actions. "Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda!Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!Muda!" Roy exclaimed, his boxing glove covered fists punching the vehicle faster and faster, until finally, he pulled back his right arm and punched it with one last "MUDA!", and leapt back a moment later.
When this happened, the ring was rocked by an explosion, as the steamroller actually blew up, sending Fukuroda bouncing around the chains surrounding the ring, as Roy landed on one of the corner poles, and slapped Ryuko's hand after putting the gloves back into his coat as she looked at her friend in shock, tagging her back in. "Finish him off." He told his friend, before leaping back onto the ground outside of the ring beside Mataro… And then punching the kid onto the ground with a steaming lump on his head. "Don't ogle my friend, got it?" He growled, only getting a groan of pain in response, while Mako continued to stare at him with stars in her eyes after the awesome scene he'd just made.

Back in the ring, Ryuko watched as Fukuroda continued to bounce around, a glare on her face. "Well, now that Roy's done, I get to have some fun!" She shouted. And in response to her announcement, the outfit she was wearing actually tightened around her further, steam escaping from around the eyes, and under her skirt, as the red highlights glowed, before turning pink as stars flashed around her. Moments later, she rushed forwards, meeting Fukuroda as he bounced towards her. "Left jab!" She shouted, bringing her Scissor Blade around to hit the right side of his head, getting an exclamation of pain from him as he was forced to stop bouncing among the chains, and ended up getting his feet onto the mat.
Unfortunately, this wasn't the best thing for him at that moment, as Ryuko spun her Scissor Blade around her hand, before bringing the blunt edge around. "And a right hook!" She exclaimed, hitting Fukuroda in his back with it, before bringing it back around, and resting the blade against the mat, directly under Fukuroda's legs. This action drew winces from Roy, Phil and every other male in the audience at what they perceived was going to happen next. "And now, an uppercut!" Ryuko finished, the blade actually leaving the mat as she brought the handle up with her fist, and hit Fukuroda square in his chin, sending him flying into the air, before he crashed onto the mat, in a mirror of what he'd done to her only a little over two hours ago, before Fukuroda bounces upwards, a few more of his teeth getting knocked out of his mouth along with him spitting up a glob of blood.
Philip was leaning forward now, his breathing heavy as he watched the fight, if it could even be called that at this stage, with rapt attention. He'd found a certain amount of amusement in this at the beginning, but now, he found he was genuinely excited to see what was about to happen. Fukuroda may have been a total plonker, but he was still wearing a Goku Uniform. The Scissor Blade being able to do damage to one was always going to be a factor in this, but with Ryuko's lack of any other gear and embarrassing defeat earlier, her sudden turnaround had been nowhere near the expected outcome. But now she had that uniform, as well, which was taking hits from a Goku Uniform like they were nothing. This was something that only happened when a Goku Uniform went up against a stronger Goku Uniform, but whatever this thing was, regardless of what Inumuta said, it was no Goku Uniform. Philip had an inkling of an idea, but Satsuki would know better than him.
So he just watched the fight, grinning from ear to ear, eager to see what would happen next.
Ryuko's Scissor Blade gave off multiple flashes of light as she held it in the air following her previous attack. She then spun it around on her wrist a few times before turning it back on Fukuroda, who hadn't even hit the ground yet. "And for dessert, a right straight!" She announced as she drove the Scissor Blade right through Fukuroda's Goku Uniform. He spun around a few times in the air from the impact, and then his uniform exploded, littering the air and ground around him in tiny scraps.
[SEN-I-SOSHITSU]
"Hahahahahahaha!" Philip laughed, clapping in a manic round of applause. "Yes! Oh, things are about to get so interesting around here! I can't wait!"
"Impossible!" Sanageyama exclaimed in shock.
"A Goku Uniform…" Gamagori began.
"…Was defeated?!" Jakuzure finished.
Inumuta touched the centre of his glasses. "Her Scissor Blade is powerful." He observed.
While all these comments were being made, Roy simply smirked from his place beside the ring at the outcome that his friend had accomplished… While blushing and doing his best to ignore the Card Girl who was hugging her arms around his neck, her breasts pressed against his arm as she thanked him for "saving her life" in the ring. Meanwhile, what was left of Fukuroda's Goku Uniform unravelled, leaving no trace of its existence but a single, glowing red thread, which was quickly attracted to Ryuko's uniform and absorbed. Satsuki noticed this and narrowed her eyes. "No." She said. "It isn't her blade."
Once again before Fukuroda could even hit the ground, Ryuko swung her Scissor Blade at him. This time she kept swinging, around and around, taking Fukuroda for a ride. "Now, it's time to finish you off!" She shouted as she stopped her swing and released Fukuroda, sending him flying off into the distance… And right towards Satsuki Kiryuin.
{Stop OST}
In an instant, a group of One-Star students stood before her, blocking Fukuroda's body from hitting her. Upon impact with the One-Stars, Fukuroda's flight stopped dead, drawing a small croak of pain from him, and he bled. The blood was still flying on the momentum his body had been moving with and was on a path of collision with Satsuki's face. A split-second later, Philip, Gamagori, Inumuta, and Jakuzure all stood in front of her so that she would not be tarnished with that failure's blood. They blocked most of it…
…But a single drop made it past. It hit Satsuki right on the cheek, standing out clearly, a red stain on her perfect skin. The three Elite Four members all widened their eyes as their mouths hung open. Philip had the same reaction, but he quickly turned to face Ryuko and made a face like the Cheshire Cat. It gave the impression that Ryuko just put herself in a very dangerous position.
Satsuki contemptuously wiped the blood from her cheek with her thumb, not saying a word.
Sanageyama gaped up at the sight that he'd just witnessed, before he turned to Ryuko with a glare and made to climb into the ring. "How dare you…?!"
"Stand down." Satsuki ordered, causing Sanageyama to stop in his tracks. Satsuki focused her eyes upon Ryuko. "New girl, where did you get your hands on that outfit?"
In response to the question by the woman at the top of the academy's tower, Ryuko kept her gaze down towards the boxing mat, causing her hair to shadow her eyes… Before kicking the mic that Fukuroda had used earlier up into her hand, and holding it in front of her mouth. "I got it from my father." She responded, making Satsuki's eyes narrow in response.
"Really?" She asked, making Ryuko scowl at the woman.
"Yeah really! And are you seeing this Scissor Blade?! It was left behind by the same scumbag that killed him!" She shouted, holding up the blade in question, before pointing it at the woman. "And now, you're gonna tell me, who this belongs to! Satsuki Kiryuin." She shouted, glaring up at the Student Council President, who simply continued to stare down at her with no change in her expression.
As this was happening, Roy stood outside of the ring, but behind Ryuko, having gotten away from the Card Girl for now, a frown on his face, and a serious look in his eyes as he stared up at the woman leading this school, and the teen closest to her. And at the same time, Philip's grin widened once more, outwardly amused by all of this. On the inside, however, he sighed. So, it's very related, then… Bugger.
B: Well, here we are… Another attempt at a Collab… And one that will hopefully go better than our others in regards to continuing to keep our focus on writing it… Although considering how much we've actually planned ahead of time, unlike our other times, I'm a bit more optimistic about this one… And if I need to put daily reminders in my phone to work on this, that works too.
P: Way to let 'em know that we've already got others going on. Pretty sure the only one we've published so far other than this is the Familiar of Zero fic. We don't look too bad if it stays that way. But then, I guess it's pretty predictable of us. Just look at the stories on our profiles.
B: No kidding. -_- As it stands, this one at least has a better chance than most others, considering just how much has been planned when compared to the other ones where we only have vague ideas for the beginning, and a couple quotes for later scenes…
P: True. Also, disclaimer: We are not actually related. That particular revelation was one that we agree would probably have been better for later, but there's no real place for a dramatic reveal in the notes we've taken, so we figured, fuck it, Inumuta will just dig it up while researching Roy.
B: Yeah… We just… Y'know, happen to both have last names ending in B… Our dads share a birthday… That's all… XD
P: The choice of the name "Butler" was actually a complete coincidence. We were just both figuring out self-insert names since we don't want to use our real names for obvious reasons, and we just both happened to choose that one. It's kinda funny.
B: No kidding… But anyways, that's about it for this chapter. Not too many differences from Canon at this point, but don't expect that to stay the same. There are two "OC's" present in this series, on either "side" of the battle…
P: Yeah. The only reason said differences won't be noticeable this early is because this show starts out kinda formulaic. That's not a bad thing by any means, but the early episodes do tend to follow a sort of "Ryuko demands answers, the villain of the week fights her, and the status quo is restored by the end" sort of beat. As soon as the larger plot comes along, these things should become more significant.
B: Especially since… Well, we've dropped a few hints here and there about our "selves" and how we view the… "world". I'm sure if others have read our other story, they have an idea of some… Things that will be utilized later…
P: And that's all we'll say because trying to drop any more vague hints will inevitably give away things. Or it'll just become really annoying. Probably the latter.
B: Very true… But then, when don't we enjoy annoying our readers? :P
P: That's fair. I'm a big fan of irritating people on the Internet. Not in the typical Twitter way, but just by refusing to elaborate on things.
B: I think that's the case with most writers, if we take form how many chapters or manga/anime scenes end in freaking cliffhangers… Anyways, that's about it for this chapter, there should be more subtle and obvious changes in the coming chapters, considering how "short" and "fast paced" this anime is…
P: And with that said, we'll be seeing you lot next time. Cheerio!
B: Merry Belated Christmas all, and Happy Holidays to those who don't celebrate it!
