Bonded By Love-Ch 32
A little while later as they walked into the reception tent Sarah, Desi and the boys were all clapping their hands and shouting their congratulations at the news of the newest member of the family soon to be coming. Derek and Penelope grinned and hugged the four of them before Derek led her over to the center of the floor so they could have their first dance together as husband and wife.
Penelope sighed happily and laid her head down on his shoulder as he pulled her closer to him, he kissed the top of her head and said, "are you sure that you're okay because we can sit this dance out until later". Penelope said, "I'm fine handsome, we can dance our first dance together and then I'll keep my promise and eat", he winked at her and said, "that's my girl" as they readied for their dance to start.
The music to I swear filled the air she grinned up at him and said, "how did you know this was one of my favorite songs"?, Derek laughed and said, "Payton told me and I just knew that this had to be our first dance song". Penelope said, "have I told you how much I love you lately"?, he said, "hmmmmm, I do believe that you have but I never tire of hearing it", she laughed and said, "I love you like midnight loves the moon" causing him to grin as they started making their way across the floor.
Everybody stood watching as the happy couple held each other close and danced to the music, it wasn't long before the other couples were on the floor dancing with them while Payton watched with a smile on his face. After the first song ended Derek led his beautiful wife over to the table and said, "alright goddess, let's fatten you up a little shall we"? she said, "in a few months I'm going to be as big as a house, are you still gonna love me then"? Derek kissed her lips and said, "yes mam I will, I will love you forever and ever" causing her to laugh as they started putting food onto their plates.
The celebrating continued for a few hours and during that time they ate, laughed, talked and danced, the bride got to dance with every man and boy there while Derek danced with all of the women before making his way back to his wife. It had been decided that they would spend their honeymoon at the cabin, that way they would still be able to spend time alone but not be to far from home in case they were needed.
As the team sat laughing and talking Payton looked at Penelope and said, "we're all moving here to Virginia", Penelope said, "what, really, when"?, he laughed and said ,"yes really but we are still keeping our place in California so that we can have a place that we can all get together when we're there" and Penelope smiled and said, "that's amazing news, I'm so happy to hear that Payton".
Patrick said, "the three of us already have jobs lined up", Penelope said, "what about you Pay"?, Payton said, "yeah I have one, I'm helping Derek work on his properties" and she looked at Derek and said, "properties, you have properties"?, he said, "sure do, right now I have about 5 and one of those is going to be our new home" and she said, "oh angel fish that sounds amazing" as she kissed his lips passionately.
They pulled apart to the sounds of Henry and Jack saying, "ewwwww that's gross" in unison, then everybody started laughing and shaking their heads as Penelope blushed and buried her head in her husbands chest. A few minutes later Derek said, "well sweetness, we need to head out, we've still got to drive to the cabin" and she nodded her head and said, "I'm ready when you are sugar shack" as they stood up and started hugging their family.
As they made their run for the car their family was chasing them and tossing birdseed at them, Penelope and Derek grinned and waved as they climbed into the car and shut their doors. Everybody stood waving and yelling their congratulations until the car disappeared out of sight down the driveway, Fran and the others then headed back to start the clean up and call it a day after the long tiring day they had just had but they wouldn't have traded it for anything because not only did Fran get a daughter-in-law but news of her first grandchild.
She couldn't be happier to know that in a few months she was going to have a little bundle of joy to spoil utterly and completely rotten
