Bonded By Love-Ch 35
Payton had sent a group text to the team, Sarah, Desi and the brothers to let them all know that Penelope was in labor while they were waiting on the birth of the baby and for the arrival of the ambulance. Penelope collapsed against the pillows and looked up at Derek and weakly smiled as he wiped the sweat from her forehead, he said, "you're doing so good baby girl" and she blew out a tired breath and said, "how much longer, how much longer"?, Fran said, "you're crowning sweetie so we're going to try to deliver the head on the next contraction".
Derek looked down at his tired wife and said, "just think baby girl, in a few minutes we'll be holding our baby", Penelope said, "and I can't wait to hold him or her and kiss them and tell them how much I love themmmmmmm" as another contraction hit. Fran said, "pushhhhhhh Penelope" and push she did until Fran told her to relax, she laid back against the pillows and tried to rest until the next contraction hit.
Fran said, "you are doing so good honey, the head is out, now next will come the shoulders so on the next contraction I need you to push just like you did this last time, okay"?, Penelope nodded her head yes and bit down on her bottom lip. She was only able to rest for about a minute before the next contraction started, she raised up and squeezed Dereks hand and pushed and pushed until Fran said, "stop, don't push Penelope, don't push".
She looked up at her mother-in-law as Fran said, "just a second" as she busied herself doing something, she looked up and grinned and said, "alright on the next contraction you're going to deliver the baby". Penelope smiled and then looked up at Derek and said, "I love you", he said, "and I love you" as the contraction hit and Fran said, "pushhhhhh" and she pushed and pushed until the cries of her baby filled the room.
She collapsed against the pillows and watched as Fran said, "there you are little one", she looked at Derek and said, "daddy do you want to cut the cord"?, Derek nodded his head and got up and smiled down as he cut the cord that connected the baby to his beautiful and exhausted wife.
Penelope said, "how is the baby, is the baby alright"?, Fran grinned as she cleaned off the baby and wrapped it in a blanket and handed it to her son and said, "here you go daddy, here is your son". Tears streamed down Dereks face as he looked down at the screaming bundle in his arms, he said, "our son", he looked up at Penelope and said, "our son, did you hear that baby girl, our son, our son, he's he's here".
As he walked over to Penelope he said, "he's perfect", he then placed their son in his wifes arms, Payton walked over to them and looked down at his nephew and said, 'he's gorgeous, congratulations you two". He then snapped a couple of pictures of the family and then a few of just the baby and sent them to everybody with the heading, "IT'S A BOY", it only took a few seconds before the congratulations texts started.
Penelope looked at her husband and said, "I still can't believe that he's here, that he's finally here", Derek kissed her lips gently and then kissed the top of his sons head and said, "thank you, thank you for this amazing gift that you've given me". She smiled happily and said, "no, thank you, thank you for making me a mommy to this amazing little man here", Payton said, "I can see both of you in him, he's going to be a heartbreaker and that's for sure".
Meanwhile in the background the sounds of sirens could be heard coming closer and closer, Payton said, "sounds like the ambulance is here, I'll go let them in", Penelope smiled and said, "thank you Payton", he winked at her and said, "congratulations P" she smiled at him and then glanced down at her son as her brother left the room.
