Bonnie had heard the slightly insecure undertones in Chris' voice and normally she would have pestered her friend till she had all the answers, but she wanted to wait a little longer. The two clearly didn't want anyone to know that they were happy together and although Jacob had only promised not to reveal anything: She wouldn't do it either.
Still, she kept a closer eye on her friends from now on.

The rest of the evening is characterized by lots of nice conversations and lots of laughter. Everyone congratulates Bonnie and Tan again and even if they weren't expecting it, they also got a lot of presents. Only unpacking would have to wait a while.

Everyday life caught up with them quickly.

And so it happened that almost 4 weeks later they found themselves between a lot of boxes. The fact that getting married can cause such chaos should be more widely known. Their little house was comfortably furnished, but the gifts were still piling up in the living room and they had to slowly but surely get out of there. Tan would have liked to put them in the spare room, but her parents had already dubbed it a children's room. So the expectations and demands on the couple were clear. However, it was about as important to them as a trip to Antarctica right now.
The box with the thank you cards for the wedding presents was missing. And Bonnie was getting restless.

She was of the opinion that after 4 weeks they should be getting around to sending out those cards.
Bonnie dropped slightly theatrically on her back and bumped into a box that was hidden under the table.
"Found it!" she exclaims happily. "Now we can start."
Her smile also makes Victor breathe easier again. He sits down next to her, laughing and shaking his head.
"Well then. Where do you want to start?"
Bonnie looks around and points to the corner where the SWAT colleagues' envelopes and boxes are.
"Bring the big parcel role. I want to know what Street put in there. Looks heavy."
Victor already knows what to expect. The role is really heavy. He picks it up and when he tears the paper he sees the word canopy.
"He can't be serious," he mumbles and puts the package down.
After the two have removed a number of small bags with coins from the package, it becomes clear that there is no canopy in it.
And they suddenly find a sealed envelope.
Both look a bit puzzled. "He's your friend. You open it." Bonnie laughs and leans back, relaxed.
Still skeptical, Victor opens the envelope.
When he takes out the card, a piece of paper falls out. Bonnie picks it up and as she turns it she realizes, "That's a cheque. Where does he take the money?" the second part is quiet and shocked, but when she looks at Victor he just grins and holds the card out to her.

"I think I put the ring to good use :) I hope you have one less worry now and can enjoy your life together."

Thanks for coming on this little adventure with me.
