Later, they waited. It's all they could do. Even the lighting was low, as the Hyperion tried to run cool engines and light trails, nothing that would get picked up outside the system. Raynor flicked out the still not-present cigarette, scattering its ash if there was any. A minute passed like that.

"What are you doing?" Matt asked, finally bringing it up.

"Trying to quit," Raynor answered back.

"Is it working?"

"Don't do anything that isn't worth doing, Matt."

Matt thought about that for a moment. "Okay." It was an answer, he guessed.
