Astra was in her room when her mother came in with her ever bright smile. "Astra, dearest star, we are to meet with the Royal families soon so we must prepare," was what her mother had said. Astra froze as her mother's words settled in her mind.
She would see them again. She didn't know if she was ready to see them. The last time she saw their faces they had been burnt and bloody. As her mother left Astra felt tears fill her eyes.
Star, you worry for them. You wonder if they remember what happened not long ago.
Astra stilled as her thoughts collided. Hopefully they didn't remember what happened that day. If they did she feared they would not make it long before they brought about their own deaths.
There is no need to worry. They have no memory of the past. It was like it never happened for them. You are the only one who remembers the past.
Astra grew hopeful at those words. If they didn't have to know of the past, she would never tell them. No one would know of what happened unless necessary.
You silly child. There will be some who question you as you have a power no one has ever heard of and it is as strong as the Dragon Flame. Your tale will be told whether you want it to or not.
Astra sighed before she thought about those who would be at the meeting of the Royal families. She would see Stella, Aisha, and Tecna as they were the only Royal children of their worlds. Astra closed her eyes and remembered their smiling faces and laughs. She missed them.
When the day came for the meeting Astra stood with her family in a pale red dress with a small tiara on her head. She was nervous and tried to hide her shaking hands. She knew that when she saw them it was over.
The grand doors of the Throne Room of Andros opened to reveal other Royal families who were all looking at them.
"All hail, King Oritel Custos, Queen Marion Custos, Crown Princess Daphne Custos, Second Princess Aithne Custos, and Third Princess Astra Custos of Domino!"
Astra and her family walked into the room as everyone greeted her parents with smiles and sparkling eyes. Astra was beyond nervous now as she could feel the stares of three pairs of eyes she knew well.
Astra looked up and saw her three friends together. They were watching her as she looked so different from the rest of her family. She knew this and was used to the stares of others.
Stella giggled and ran over to her. "Hi! I'm Stella Luceat, Crown Princess of Solaria!" Stella said with her ever bright smile.
The once beautiful tan skin of the Fairy of the Sun and Moon was now sickly pale. She no longer had the bright shine in her golden amber eyes. Her long blonde hair had lost its gleam. She laid there breathing shuddering breaths as she looked at Bloom. Bloom watched the scene with tears building in her eyes.
"Ella...you can't leave me. What am I to do without you?" Bloom had asked in a shaking voice. Stella lifted a blood stained hand and Bloom realized it was Stella's own blood that stained her skin. "..You will shine...just as you always have," Stella said as she touched Bloom's face with her reddened hand. Stella smiled at the fairy beside her before her hand dropped and she took one last shuddering breath.
Bloom slowly stood up and felt nothing but the ache of her heart breaking. She looked down and saw her oldest friend covered in burns, cuts, and blood. Stormy, Duman, and Darkar had given their all to destroy the only Princess of Solaria. They had watched in sickening glee as the blonde fairy bleed out before them with Bloom crying over her.
Astra was shaken from her thoughts as Stella pulled her towards the other two. Astra put on a smile even though she felt sick and wanted nothing more to cry for the loss of those she had once known.
"This is Tecna! She is the Crown Princess of Zenith," Stella said as she pointed at the magenta haired girl with wide and curious teal-blue eyes.
Bloom had heard the snapping of bones before she heard the screams of the Fairy of Technology. Bloom turned to see Valtor and Gantlos laughing as the strawberry blonde wizard slowly killed the girl. Bloom froze before she saw red and attacked the wizards. Tecna was released from Valtor's power and fell to the ground. She landed with a crash and Bloom rushed to her side.
"Tecna..you have to stay strong, okay? I'll try my best to heal you but you need to stay awake," Bloom said as she lifted her hands. Tecna stopped Bloom from healing her with a touch of her hand. "You can't….you need to save your energy or else you won't make it out of this either," Tecna told the red headed girl. Bloom shook her head. "No...I have to save you! I can't lose you too!" Bloom told the dying girl with a tear stained face.
"Oh Bloom...you won't ever lose me. Remember what you once told me...friends forever and beyond? I will remain within your heart like you said you would remain in mine….even after I die I will be with you...in your heart," Tecna said. Bloom smiled softly. Tecna had finally learned to express and name emotions after years of Bloom helping her. Tecna gave Bloom a pained smile before she went slack and lost the life in her eyes.
Astra gripped her skirt tightly as Stella then pointed to a girl with mahogany hair and bright cerulean eyes. "And this is Crown Princess Aisha of Andros!" Stella told the golden eyed girl.
Bloom and Aisha had been fighting Icy, Darcy, and Ogron but when Aisha fell Bloom went down with her. The three villains laughed as the Fairy of Waves coughed up blood. Bloom had known the mahogany haired fairy had been hit but didn't know it had affected her so much.
It must have hurt her internally and she had pushed past her limit. Bloom shook as Aisha coughed up more blood and it coated the ground red. Aisha looked at the red haired girl with a strained smile with blood flowing out of the corners of her mouth. "Aisha…? What happened?" Bloom asked. Aisha sat back on her heels and looked at Bloom with pain filled eyes. "Don't worry, Bloom. I've had worse than this," Aisha said as she spit out blood.
Bloom tried to hide her terror but Aisha had known Bloom long enough to see the fear that was hidden in her eyes. "It's fine..I know things look bad but I know things will be alright. We have always won and we may not win but you still can...so win for us, Bloom. Win for us who you have lost and bring light back into this darkened place," Aisha told the red haired fairy before she went into a coughing fit. When Aisha looked up Bloom knew she was quickly meeting her end. "Goodbye Bloom," Aisha whispered before she fell forward and into Bloom's waiting arms.
Star, do not think of the past. Instead look towards your bright future. They are no longer dead but alive and in front of you.
Astra took a deep breath before saying, "Hello! I am Astra, Third Princess of Domino!"
