"hermione! I need your help." as soon as he could, Harry gathered Ron and hermione, the three of them in Ron's room at the Burrow

"alright what's so urgent? Hermione asked

" I got a letter this summer" Harry began

"don't shout about it or everybody will want one" Ron grinned, making him laugh

"shut it. Anyway it was from someone called Natalia, she said she was my godmother."

This peaked their interest. Hermione getting ready to fire off a question.

"did you check-"

Yes I checked with Sirius, and professor Lupin "Harry cut in." she said that I should ask them and they both confirmed it. Just read these and tell me what you think "

Before any more questions could be asked, Harry grabbed the the first and second letter from his trunk. Letting hermione read them first, then Ron.

When they were done, it took a few minutes before anyone said anything.

" bloody hell, mate." Ron turned to look at hermione "you read that part about-"

"yes Ron"

"and that bit about being the-

" I did read the same letter ron"

"i know that. It still sounds mental though.. I mean a vampire.. What queen?" Ron looked at them both skepticism on his face

"I mean, yeah it's a little bit like a bad story, but come on so was Sirius being innocent and the stone, and.. Well everything about my life" Harry let out a bitter laugh

"hold on. Its not that far fetched." hermione. Ever the voice of reason spoke up. "not that much is written about vampires. Besides that fraud lockharts book. And certainly nothing about larger gatherings of vampires. If you think about it. Someone has to be in charge don't they ? Otherwise they would just fight over territory all the time and slaughter each other.. It makes sense doesn't it? "

" s'pose it does. But still, a vampire? Can you really trust her mate? I'm not saying you shouldn't, just, Can you? " Ron said. Actually raising a fair point

"don't see why not, Sirius and Lupin both said she was okay. besides, not all vampires can be dodgy. Or evil or something, my mum trusted her" Harry said, in a tone that had Ron raising his hands in surrender.

"anyway." hermione cut in "what did you want us to help you with?"

"getting her status as my Godmother back, obviously. What the ministry did to her was completely out of line!"

His declaration gained him sympathetic looks from the pair.

"I get it, I really do. And I'll try and find something that might help, but Harry. This is something that you need to think through."

"think it through? Hermione, I've been thinking it through for weeks. Sirius was one thing, but this? There's nothing going against Natalia except that she's different. Took her away from me because of what she is.. That's not fair.. I'm not losing anymore family Hermione, I had to watch them nearly kill and chase off my godfather without a fight, no way in hell am I letting that happen again"

By the end of his tirade, Harry's throat was tight, face red, and his nails were digging painfully in his palms..

"she's right mate, it's not gonna be easy - let me finish" Ron held up a hand before Harry could start shouting.

"you two don't know how it is.. , but werewolves, vampires, stuff like that, they *are* bad, magical families teach their kids about them. Scary dark creatures that'll eat or turn you if you're bad.. It doesn't matter if that's true or not, because everyone knows that it is.." trailing off, Ron tried to find the right words

" what I'm trying to say is, even if every other werewolf was like Lupin, they'll make the one bad one the example.. "

" Ron.. That's the most intelligent thing you have ever said " teased hermione. Trying to break the tension.

"Oi! I know things." Ron glowered at her. "just saying it's not something you can fix in a week. Still, might as well try.. It'll be a nice break from people trying to kill us, eh Harry?"

Harry couldn't help it, he started laughing. "yeah, yeah that'd be great. sorry I dropped all of that on you both.. Just.."

"needed to let it out. We know" his friends both smiled, hermione putting a hand on his

"we always figure something out. Once we go to diagon alley I can try and find some books. And Im sure hogwarts has something useful somewhere"

Rolling his eyes, Ron added. "yeah and white she's boring us with text books. I can ask dad.. Hell if I have to I'll ask percy if he can help" Ron wrinkled his nose at the thought.

"bet he knows some loophole or something, hes basically in love with the law."

"he just wants to be thorough. There's nothing wrong with a healthy respect for the rules" she tried to sound stern, but even hermione felt percy was up tight..

"yeah 'healthy respect'. Trust me hermione, there's nothing healthy about it, he gets off on it"

"Ronald!" blushing, hermione smacked him.

"Merlin woman, that hurts." Ron rubbed his arm, shying away from her

"He does, seriously! You should have seen him last week reading about his boss...bes in love with him"

As the two began to bicker, Harry just smiled, he wasn't stupid. He knew that they'd started that to make him laugh, to make him stop worrying and making himself more frustrated.

It was silly for him to think that they wouldn't help him, not after everything they've been through. They would come up with something to help Natalia. Of that he had no doubt, together the three of them would find a way..
