Swinging his sword around, Megatron snarled as the white and black cyberninja he had been facing dodged his attack. The Autobot then swung around and hit the warlord with his nunchucks, causing Megatron to stumble back.
"Kind of losing yer cool, aren't ya?" the Autobot said, smirking.
Oh yes, Megatron was most certainly 'losing his cool.
His entire plan was falling apart around his pedes. For one glorious moment, he could taste victory on his glossa. The foolish Autobot known as Bulkhead had completed his space bridge, that it worked. To see the portal emerge and sparkly as a new star was indeed a sight.
Then the Autobots had to storm in to ruin it. No, Megatron at all wasn't surprised by that move. He knew it would only be a matter of time before they tracked down their friend and storm his base. It was pointless for them to think that they stood a chance. Even with the additions of Magnus' second, the cyberninja and an intelligence agent with the Autobots that prevented him from gaining the AllSpark, they didn't stand a chance.
His forces were superior in strength and skills. The Autobots hadn't the experiences his Decepticons did and had fallen to his might when they attacked. They didn't fight to end things; Autobots fought only to disarm and neutralize.
Things would have been easier had it not been for Starscream.
Once again, that traitor had to come in and ruin his plans.
Megatron found himself facing a battle on two fronts. There as the Autobots and their pursuit to stop his bridge. Then there was the chaotic nature of the Starscream and his clones. It seems that their goal was to destroy anything that wasn't their group.
Proven to this point, Starscream dove down and bash the cyberninja to the side. The Seeker wore his trademark smirk as he turned his weapons onto Megatron. He was not impressed at all as he had become use to Starscream's actions. There was nothing bright of his plan as Starscream continued to repeat the same thing, to destroy him.
"Your reign is coming to an end now, Megatron," shriek Starscream.
Megatron sighed, readying his sword for battle once more. "You keep claiming that but still fail to do so each time, Starscream."
That didn't seem to make him too please. The Seeker's smile disappeared to a sneer as he ready to fight his weapons, only for a blur of red and blue form bashed Starscream into the ground. Which only made Megatron smile when he saw who it was.
"Don't you ever get tired of talking?" hissed Orion, placing his foot onto Starscream's head. "Your voice is grating on my nerves."
Thankfully, Megatron couldn't hear the reply as Starscream's face was in the dirt.
"I had that under control," said Megatron, letting himself relax for the moment. Starscream would get up soon enough, and the battle would be on.
"A thank-you would be nice," teased Orion, smiling as he lifted his foot off. "Not how I imagine how this day would be going."
Megatron shrugged his shoulders, "Seekers were unexpected, but nothing we can't handle."
"I'll kill you!"
"I'll leave you to it then," sighed Orion, moving his way around to avoid the Seeker and slipping to Megatron's side. His optics watched around, looking at the small fights between the three forces. He twirled his axe in thought before it seemed he settle on something.
"Optimus!"
The shout of the name should have brought Megatron's full attention. It did, but for the moment, he found his servos were full with dealing with a screeching Starscream. He got back up ground and took to firing his arm lasers at Megatron.
He took to reflecting and dodging the blasts before taking a swing at Starscream with his sword. From the corner of his optics, Megatron saw who screamed out the name. It was Magnus' second, left behind as a way of extra support to the Autobots that remained on Earth. That wouldn't have given Megatron too much concern, but it was also the additional information of who that mech was.
He was one of the few mechs that might able to take Orion away from him.
Something Megatron couldn't allow.
Bring down his axe, Orion frown as the Autobot blocked his attack with his shield. Using it, the Autobot pushed back against Orion and putting some distance between them. It wouldn't matter for long as Orion tried, again and again, his axe hitting the shield with each go.
"You can't stay on the defences forever,"
"I don't want to fight you, Optimus," the Autobot pleaded.
Again, Optimus.
Orion found a part of his processor constantly gnawing at him whenever one of these Autobots took to calling him that. He didn't know why. There could be thousands of reasons why it did that. Maybe because of his lack of knowledge of his past?
Maybe because ever since his first interaction with them, they looked at him with shock and disbelief. It was as if they saw a ghost.
It didn't last, and since then, the Autobots wasted their time with their tricks. They wasted their time trying to convince him that he shouldn't be with Megatron, that he was lying to him.
That they were his friend.
Maybe how honest they acted threw him off. They never seem to give up on the lie; no matter how many times he told them, he didn't believe them. He had seen the history datapads; Orion knew what the Autobots were like and couldn't see himself siding with them.
"Then why don't you surrender," scoffed Orion.
"And let Cons get to Cybertron? Your processor needs to get itself fix," said the giant chin Autobot.
"My processor is fine," sneered Orion. "It's you Autobots that need to be taken care of."
"Optimus, Megatron has been lying to you. You're an Autobot, not some slagging Decepticon!" the Autobot pleaded once more. Lowering his shield and weapon, Orion couldn't tell if this mech was an idiot or trying to play some kind of game with him. "I know you. You would never be part of something like this."
"Oh really," snorted Orion, taking to circling the Autobot. He didn't take his optics off of him and the same for his opponent. The Autobot's sad optics were trailing on after him as Orion moved. Seriously, he didn't have time for this.
All these distractions were wasting his time.
"Please, you have to believe me."
"Why do I feel like if I listen to you, I'll only screw myself over."
That seemed to have gotten some kind of reaction from the Autobot. An emotion Orion didn't know how to place flash across his face before screaming and charging right at him. Orion couldn't help but be caught off guard as the Autobot tackled them both right onto the ground. Using his weight, the Autobot tried to attempt to pin Orion down onto the floor.
Pointless, given the size of them.
"Get off me!"
The Autobot didn't seem to hear him. The smaller mech kept a hold onto Orion's shoulder as he got back into his pedes. He seems to be busy trying to dig something out of his subspace. Orion growled, trying to rip the Autobot off of him.
"What's your game!?" demanded Orion.
He didn't get an answer. Well, not a verbal response as whatever the Autobot dugout started to glow.
A familiar blue-white glow...
...An AllSpark fragment...
Orion barely could get a word out as the Autobot slammed the fragment right at his face. Suddenly, everything was on fire. His processor felt like it was trying to rip itself apart. Many memories that weren't there before were flashing in front of his optics.
Faces he didn't know but felt like he did.
So many voices.
And the only thing Orion could do was scream.
Hearing Orion scream, It felt like someone pour ice-cold solvent over his frame. Megatron whipped around from slicing Starscream's head off once more to find where Orion was. There he stood there, frozen with a look of pain and terror plaster across his face. The familiar glow of an AllSpark fragment shining from his helm as Orion continued to scream but unable to do anything.
No!
Snarling, Megatron launched his way towards Orion, but he was met with resistance. The Autobots took to jumping in front of him, blocking his path towards Orion. Of course, that they would try something like this. Some final shot to take to get their Optimus back to them. In their processors, they must have it that an AllSpark fragment was just as good as the Key to repair their 'friend's processor.
Couldn't they see that there was nothing to fix? Orion was his now, and he was never going to go back to the Autobots. Not as long as Megatron could do anything about it.
He plowed Bulkhead into the yellow minibot before the two cyberninja jumped him. Their more agile frames and movements were an annoyance with their tricks and illusions. Reflecting their attacks with his sword, Megatron kept moving forward until the black and gold Autobot slipped up. Grabbing him by the leg, Megatron swung him hard into the other cyberninja Autobot and slamming both of them into the ground.
That only left one Autobot in his way.
The idiot thought his shield would stop him. Megatron would have laughed at the mere idea if he wasn't so distracted by Orion's screaming. The use of one blast of his fusion cannon was enough to cause the Autobot to stumble off guard. With ease, Megatron grabbed him by the head and threw the Autobot nice and hard into the wall.
Would take a moment to relish how satisfying that was, but perhaps later.
Megatron had more significant concerns at the moment.
Orion's screams slowly gave way to whimpers, but he still stood and staring up at the ceiling. The glow also dimmed away from the fragment that seems to lay neatly in the middle of his helm. It flickers there, taunting Megatron with what it had done to his Orion.
Coming to a halt, Megatron's optics trailed Orion's frame for any signs that something was wrong. The slightest bit of worry shot through Megatron's systems. The tiny bit of what-ifs on the tip of his processor. Could they have brought back Orion's Autobot self?
No, he couldn't think that.
The Autobots had failed. Not even the power of the AllSpark can do anything to help them. The key was the one that repaired Orion, and it didn't give him back his memories. Why would a mere piece of it do it? The AllSpark saw it fit that he was to remain as Orion, by his side forever.
"Orion?" Megatron called out.
He didn't say anything. The younger mech turned to him, his expression void of emotions and his optics flicker on and off. It seems his systems were realigning themselves after the shock from the fragment.
But the blank expressions shifted into something alongside fear, horror and shame.
"Orion..." spoke Megatron again.
The young mech shifted his position into one of aggression as he held up his weapon. He looked ready to strike if given a chance. His face schooled itself of emotions, pretending to be serious and more mature than it was.
But Megatron could still see the hurt, the betrayal and confusion hidden behind it all.
"No...my name is Optimus Prime."
Megatron knew once that name was utter, the fantasy he created with Orion had finally came to an end.
