Rin calls her sister Kagome just to check-up on her.
"Hello sister, what are you up to?"
"Nothing much, just finishing up some paperwork. Oh! I have been meaning to tell you, that guy Inuyasha, we been texting back and forth. We decided that we would go on a date. He even told me about Sesshomaru, apparently, they are brothers and he wanted me to tell you that he apologizes for his rudeness. I did not know what that meant because you did not say anything to me. He said you would know what it meant. Do you want to tell me something Rin?"
Rin was annoyed but relieved she could talk about this with her sister because she may need some advice, if it comes out to be a stalker situation.
"Well, that same night, I texted him and I got a response that I was not expecting, it was rude, but you know how I am, I can see the good in any situation. I said what I said, and I blocked him; I did not care if he responded or not. I just don't have time for games, and he was playing one".
"I am not going to ask you to go into details unless you want to, but he is a douche for treating my baby sister like that. I just hope that if inuyasha and I do start to date it will not cause you to be uncomfortable".
"You are okay Kagome; I do not care whom you date. His brother cannot move me. I do not have to pay him any mind. It was the strangest thing though, the other day he was at my job. At first, he was there within a large party, which I understood. It was a couple days after he came and requested for me and then began asking me questions, but I blew him off in a professional manner. I asked my coworker to take over; it was too weird for me. Then when he left, he gave my manager a large tip and said it was for me. I am starting to think the tip from the other day was from him instead of the whole entire group".
"Wow Rin I was not expecting you to say all of that. I wonder if he is trying to find a way to apologize, do you think you should hear him out."
"I may be willing to, but I do not want his pity, I will give all his money back. I do not need someone to feel so guilty, that they will pay out large sums of money to make up for it. It does not work like that, well with me it does not".
"Give it a try and see what happens, even though you come off shy, I know you can take up for yourself. Hear what he has to say and move from there".
"Okay I will see, that is if I see him again".
"I have a feeling you will, if he keeps showing up to your job asking for you," Kagome says laughing.
It is now Friday, Rin is contemplating on the money she has, and whether she would be led to give it back or keep it. She hopes she will keep it because she truly does need it. "If he shows up today, I will give it back, but if he does not, it is all mine for the taking".
Rin was on a roll tonight with getting her rounds done that she completely forgot about Sesshomaru and whether he would show his face again.
She is stopped by her coworker while she was walking back to the kitchen. "Hey Rin, you have been summoned again".
She stops and turns around and sees Sesshomaru, he glances over to her and quickly turning to look at the menu. She took a deep breath and walks over to the table.
"Good evening, welcome to Masala. I am Rin and I will be your waitress for this evening".
He turns to look at her and says, "I thought you would decline my request. I did not mean to make you feel uneasy last time".
"It was an uncomfortable situation, but I worked myself through it to be able to accept your request tonight".
"It was not because of the tip I left, that you are able to speak to me now?"
Rin annoyed by the comment says, "Actually it was not, I was hoping I would see you so I could return it back to you, I have not spent a dime of it, I do not like to feel like I am anyone's charity for their guilt".
Sesshomaru surprised by her response says, "What are the specials tonight?" to try to divert the conversation.
"Lemon and garlic scallops, quinoa and asparagus on the side".
"And do you recommend that?"
"I actually do, I believe you would enjoy it as well".
"Hmph! I will take that and a glass of wine, prosecco".
She nods, smiles, and tells him she would get his order in. Sesshomaru grunts wanting Rin to stay beside him, better yet sit across from him. He wanted to talk to her and keep that scent within arm's reach.
She comes back 15 minutes later with the server to make sure everything is to his liking.
"Let me know if you need anything else" she says with a smile.
"Before you go, is there a way I could talk to you later. I have something I would like to discuss with you, to continue our conversation".
Rin was hesitant but thought maybe they could meet up after her shift. She wanted to return the funds to him anyway.
"Could you meet me after my shift, I get off at 9pm and we could meet at the entrance".
"That will do, I will see you then".
She goes to do her rounds 10 minutes later and notices Sesshomaru was not there. Her coworker stopped her., "Oh Rin your friend seemed to be in a hurry, so I got him checked out".
Rin thanks her, the girl did not mention a tip, so she simply shrugged it off and kept it moving, it was now 830pm and it was time for her to start closing her shift and get ready to go home. She made enough tips so if Sesshomaru did not give her any she was fine.
She walks outside with her coworkers, as they tend to walk with each other out during the late evening hours for safety reasons. Rin did not own a car but usually would get a ride from her coworker.
Rin sees Sesshomaru, and he was leaning against his Ferrari. Rin motioned the girl's goodbye and that she would see them later and would take an uber. She walks up to him, and he says to her, "Do you need a ride?"
"I am going to take an uber home".
"I can take you Rin, so that I am able to speak to you more properly".
"Are you like some crazy stalker or something?"
Sesshomaru chuckled, "I can take no for your answer, I simply would like to chat with you is all".
"Okay fine let's go".
Sesshomaru goes to open the passenger door then gets in on his side, and inhales Rins sweet scent. Rin tells him the directions and Sesshomaru was a little bothered by the neighborhood, it is not entirely safe, he thought anyway.
"I will start off with this; I apologize for my actions. I was acting like a child, and I should have never intervened in you girls talk. The truth is I was really intrigued by you, but I did not know how to express it as I have never come across a human that interest me".
Sesshomaru did not want to tell Rin the entire truth on what he thought of her, he thought to speak with his father first. He did not want to scare her or make her more uncomfortable than she already was.
Rin was quiet for a moment and then responds, "I just don't like the way it feels looking forward to something and then I am made to look like a fool, when I never even put myself in the situation. That is how I took it, and I responded the way I always have. I will try to make good of the situation even if it did bother me or hurt me in a way. I may be shy and not as confident as others, but no one will be able see me sweat off of any situation".
"The way you speak sounds very confident to me".
"I may be saying too much but when it comes to the opposite sex, I tend to shut down. I don't plan to work on it; I have other things that are my focus".
Sesshomaru was surprised at what she revealed.
"I only say this so you can get an understanding on why I did not care to speak to you or be within your presence. It would have not bothered me if I never saw or spoke to you again".
Sesshomaru internally whined, he wanted to be near her, and he did not like that she was this way. She has a wall up, she may have been hurt in the past, and I just added to it, he thought.
Thinking about what she said earlier, "You are not a charity case to me Rin, I actually gave you that amount of money because I am a big tipper. That restaurant was no different from any other place I have dined. I tip very well". Which was a lie, Rin accepted that, and nodded.
"So that means I keep all of this then", she says looking into her bag.
He looks to her and says, "You should have put that in a bank. You should not carry money around like that, you could get robbed".
"Well, I planned on giving it back to you".
Sesshomaru does not know for sure if Rin forgives him or not, but he needed clarity. "Have you forgiven this Sesshomaru?" He says turning on her block.
"I don't hold grudges; I just move on with life. So therefore, I can forgive you Sesshomaru".
He purred and Rin turned to look at him because of the odd noise he made, he says I am fine.
She rolls her eyes and says, "I am off this weekend, I will make my way to the bank before it closes. So, you don't have to worry yourself insane".
He stops in front of her complex and turns to her, "May I can take you out some time, I would like to see you again and really get to know you".
Rin eyes widen and says, "How about I unblock your number for starters and then see where it goes. We can become friends maybe" she shrugs.
The friend card, he thinks. "Yes, I am okay with that. I just want to get to know you if anything. I like that you have a good head on your shoulders, and you speak up, when necessary, you don't let things get to you".
She smiles and she takes her phone out and goes to settings to unblock Sesshomaru, she calls the number and his phone rings.
"I promise you will not have to worry about anymore foolishness from this Sesshomaru".
"Okay this Sesshomaru, this Rin needs to get some rest so I will text you when I make it in".
"Let me walk you" he says quickly.
"Okay thanks".
Sesshomaru made a mental note on the address to her place of residence and the surroundings. He did not like it; he would have to eventually remove her from this place to something more of his taste.
He gets in his car, drives home, and thinks to himself, why is this happening? I cannot stop saying things to her. It does not make since to me but I long to see and feel her happiness. I like watching her smile. I love the gasps she makes and her laughter. Love? I need to talk to father; I do not understand these emotions.
Authors Note: I find this story somewhat similar to my breaking the rules story, but that is fine, it does has differences. That is what happens when I start a story and then break off and do another one without completing the other and then they both have similarities lol.
