Sesshomaru and Rin arrive at the beach party, and everyone turns to look at them. Inuyasha looks to Sesshomaru, then looks to Rin, and raises an eyebrow. He was not expecting him to come, let alone with Rin. He invited some guest that may not be to Sesshomaru's liking.
"Let's find a spot Rin".
Rin already soft-spoken whispers so that Sesshomaru hears, "Why is everyone staring, is it always like this with you?"
"They are surprised I am here and with you, a human".
"Oh!"
"Rin! Rin! Rin!" she hears from three different people. Sango, Ayame and Kagome come charging towards her and Sesshomaru.
"Umm, hi everyone" Rin says nervously. She does not know what they are going to say.
"Can we borrow her for a moment?" Kagome says to Sesshomaru.
"I will be back," Rin says to Sesshomaru and he nods.
"So, what is going on with you and Mr. Black heart?"
"We are just friends, we started off on a rough spot, and we made amends. We both are not looking for a relationship just someone to hang out with that is not annoying".
"Wait, are you saying we are annoying?" Sango asks.
Rin shrugs and smiles, "I didn't say that".
"I just hope he is here in a good mood. Inuyasha tells me he is moody especially around humans. I am surprised he genuinely wants to be around you Rin," Kagome says.
"Like I said we don't have time for bull, and I think that is why we click".
Sesshomaru is listening in on to their conversation. They are unaware that his kind have long distance hearing. He does not particularly like what Rin is saying because he wants to be more than just her friend, she is his mate. He would have to front as if he just wanted to be her friend. He was good at hiding his true feelings, so it was natural to do so.
While the girls are talking Rin, Inuyasha and Shippo walk over to Sesshomaru. "This is strange for you to be here. Why are you here? I didn't mention it to you because I didn't want to go back and forth with you about it".
"If you invited me or not, this Sesshomaru comes and goes as he pleases. I am here with a friend".
"Out of all people, you come here with her; you were so mean to her".
"That is none of your concern, we are on good terms and that is all that matters".
"Well, it's good to see you asshole" Shippo says. "I don't care who you come with or not, it is good to see you without your panties in a bunch".
Sesshomaru glares at Shippo, and Shippo runs off.
Sesshomaru turns and looks Rin's way; they go and find a spot close to the water. Rin lays her beach towel down and takes off the big shirt she had on covering her bathing suit. Sesshomaru eyes her body; it was so perfect. She had on a yellow ruffle overlay bikini top, black and white stripes high waisted pant skirt with yellow flowers.
Damn, those thighs leading right up to her hips up to her perfect sized breast, he thought to himself.
"This is really a good day for the beach huh," she says to him.
"You are not that shy as you say you are around the opposite sex". Sesshomaru says not really noticing he is jealous that she is showing off her body while other males are around.
"Where did that come from?"
"I am just saying, you say you get nervous but look what you have on, it is revealing".
"What else am I supposed to wear? They don't have too many bathing suits that are not revealing. I thought this was nice".
"It is nice, I just thought about what you said".
"I do like my body Sesshomaru" she laughs.
"The difference is I am shy and awkward when it comes down to getting involved with someone. I know I am not the best-looking woman out there, so I always feel there is a catch when it comes to me. I don't think I am good enough".
Sesshomaru grabs her hand, "Do not talk down on yourself. You were just not made for whomever you encountered. Whomever is meant to be with you will cherish you and worship your whole being".
That shook Rin she did not know he cared so much or would give her words of encouragement. She felt a little more confident.
"Thank you Sesshomaru".
"Hmph"
Sesshomaru rolls his eyes and takes off his shirt and Rin turns her head fast. His body is so amazing, she thinks and blushes.
"The water is really beautiful over here".
"Yes, our family managed to keep it clean all this time".
"Awesome, I am going to take a swim". As she was walking towards the water, Shippo appears. "Hello, miss, nice to see you again".
"Oh hello! I see great minds think alike, both of us headed to the water again while the losers entertain each other," she says sarcastically.
Shippo laughs, "I see you and ass have got acquainted," he says walking to where the water meets his feet.
"Sesshomaru and I are friends that is all".
Sesshomaru watching them from afar, listens on.
"Are you sure because that dude has no friends, he may be using you, I would watch out".
Sesshomaru wanted to knock Shippo out, but he did not want to give away at his hearing.
"There is always a story behind on why individuals behave the way they do. I know I have one, I am sure he has one too. Plus, there is no beef between us, he is my friend".
"If you say so" Shippo yells before running into the water.
Sesshomaru walks up behind Rin, damn this girl, I want her even more. She took up for me.
Rin turns around, "You want to get in too?"
Sesshomaru nods his head and they both get into the water. Rin feels suddenly her leg being grabbed, pulling her underwater, it was Sesshomaru with a smirk on his face. They both come up to the surface Rin says, "You are playful" she says splashing him.
"We are in water, mind as well".
Rin dips back in swimming, Sesshomaru follows. He wants to find a way to touch her more but did not want to make her feel uncomfortable. Rin makes her way out the water and Sesshomaru follows watching as her bathing suit hugged her body and her wringing her hair out.
"They are so boring over there; we may be the only wet ones" Rin says. "I am hungry though, want to get some food?"
Sesshomaru nods, as they are walking up everyone stares again but Sesshomaru ignores them. Rin gets a burger and a hot dog, Sesshomaru gets a steak.
Kagome comes over and hands Rin a beer, "You know I can't drink Kagome".
"Lighten up Rin, it is just us and I am sure Sesshomaru will take good care of you". She turns to Sesshomaru, "Right".
He rolls his eyes and nods. "Rin you don't have to feel pressured to do anything" Sesshomaru says.
"Inuyasha hands Sesshomaru a beer.
Rin says, "Just put it beside me Kagome".
"How are things going with you guys?" Rin asks Kagome and Inuyasha.
"We are kicking it, she does not know it yet, but she will be my girl" Inuyasha says.
Kagome blushes, "We get along well".
Miroku and Sango come over. Sango wants to say something so bad about the pair, but she holds her tongue. She knows Rin can get snippy when she is embarrassed.
Moments later Sesshomaru nostrils flare and looked to the stairs to see three demonesses coming down and meets up with Inuyasha.
Sesshomaru turns to Rin, "You ready to go?"
"We just got here, is something the matter?"
Inuyasha knew they would come but he just hoped that Sesshomaru would be gone before they got there.
"Oh Sesshomaru, you are here!"
Rin turns from him and looks to the demoness that was approaching him.
"Inuyasha was finally able to get you out. I have been missing you on all the events".
Kagome, Ayame and Sango all turn to look at the demoness, their arms crossed with their faces like, who is this bitch?
This must be why he wanted to leave, Rin thinks. Rin gets up to move away and the demoness says, "Thank you dear".
"Inuyasha! A moment" Sesshomaru says glaring at Inuyasha.
"Fuck" Inuyasha says to himself.
"Don't be too long Sesshomaru!" says the demoness.
They walk off to the side, "Why is she here? Along with her minions?"
"She is always looking for you and invites herself. I don't know how she finds out about these things" Inuyasha says lying. He knew they were coming; they actually lively up the party, so he always invites them.
"Are you worried about Rin? What is going on between you two?"
"There is nothing of the sort going on. I like her company."
"Well, it looks like Rin does not want to go yet so you may have stay. If it is nothing between you two then no one should really feel uncomfortable. Unless it is you, she wants you bad bro".
Sesshomaru walks off towards Rin and sits by her. The demoness noticed it and comes over and sits where they are seated.
"Sesshomaru are you following behind a human?"
"Are you aware what century we are living in Kaguya?" Sesshomaru says not wanting to be the bad guy in Rin's eyes.
"Last I heard, you still were not fond of them, is all" she responds.
Rin is feeling uncomfortable being in between the two. Kaguya does not like Sesshomaru being so close to a human, she moves her way to sit in Sesshomaru's lap. Rin eyes widen at the demoness boldness.
Inuyasha turns his face and looks at Kagome, "This may be trouble".
Kagome says, "All I know she better not put her damn hands nowhere near my sister".
"Rin" Kagome yells. Rin is relieved she called her to get her out of the uncomfortable situation.
"Please remove yourself or I will be forced to do it Kaguya".
"I just want to ask you something".
"You don't need to ask me anything in my lap".
She lowers her voice, "Are you and the slut human fucking around?"
Rin isn't jealous or she thinks she isn't, but she can see he is uncomfortable, and she wanted to save him like the way he did her. Rin walks over and says, "Excuse me". They both turn to her.
"Yes" Kaguya says with an attitude.
"Could you get off of him!"
"Excuse me!"
Kagome and Sango on alert.
"Could you get off of him now!"
Kaguya raises herself off of Sesshomaru, "Who the hell do you think you are, are you his bitch or something?"
"I am just a friend, and my friend looks very uncomfortable, ever since you walked in, he has been. I am looking out for him".
"Do you know what I could do to you little girl. I could kill you where you stand".
Kagome comes over, "I think not!" Sango behind Kagome and they both stand in front of Rin.
"You really think you humans can harm me". Kaguya goes to raise her hand and before she could strike, she is thrown across the beach and hits a boulder.
Inuyasha eyes widen as he sees Kagome hit her with some kind of spiritual power. Sesshomaru finally stands up and looks to the girls and then eyes-only Rin. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I am fine, are you okay. I was more worried about you, you seemed very uncomfortable".
She has taken up for me again, how I long to repay her. She just does not know how this makes this Sesshomaru feel, he thinks.
Kaguya gets up pissed and Kagome says, "If you try some shit again, I will do worst!"
Kagome turns to Rin, "Are you good Rin, I don't know what is up with that bitch?"
Rin looks to Sesshomaru, "Apparently she really likes Sesshomaru and thinks I am his bitch" Rin laughs.
Sesshomaru embarrassed but does not show it.
"Guys can you get this garbage out of here" Ayame says.
Inuyasha tells Kaguya and her minions to leave. "Who would have thought you all would be wrapped in these little whore human fingers" Kaguya says leaving.
Sesshomaru feels so much better, "Are you sure you are okay, you were very bold standing up to her like that".
"I didn't like that she put you in that position, it was clear that you didn't want to harm her because of her being a female but she kept pushing. I saw the look on your face, and I could tell you did not like it".
"I was more surprised you came to my rescue than my weakling of a brother, this is all his fault".
Rin did not want to admit it, but she was a little jealous when Kaguya sat in his lap and wanted to remove her.
Rin smiles, maybe we should avoid Inuyasha's get togethers".
"Yes, that is one of the main reasons I do not come".
Rin giggles, "I see".
For the rest of the evening, they enjoyed themselves.
For the next couple weeks things have been going great between the two and the mutual group they frequent with. Sesshomaru does not feel a change in Rin. She still has not suggested going past being just friends and that is frustrating Sesshomaru. He is trying to be as patient as possible but nothing.
Toga and Izayoi invite Inuyasha, Kagome and Sesshomaru for dinner.
"Kagome since you and Inuyasha are finally dating, you have become part of this family" Toga says.
Sesshomaru rolls his eyes.
"So, we have not done much as a family lately and I miss the family dynamic we once had. I think it is time for a family vacation. Invite whomever you want: all expenses are paid for. We still would be doing family activities with one another so we can still have the feel of it being a family vacation while some friends are there too," Togas says.
"Where are we going father? Inuyasha asks.
"Tahiti" Toga replies.
Izayoi dancing in her seat watching Inuyasha and Kagome excited.
Kagome almost spit her drink out, "I have never been out of Japan before".
Sesshomaru the only one that was out of place.
"Not excited son?" Toga asks.
"Not in the least" Sesshomaru replies.
"Well, you better get in a better mood, I cleared out all of your schedules, so therefore you will be going" Toga says with a smile.
Sesshomaru gets up to leave and Kagome runs after him, "Hey Sesshomaru".
"What Kagome?"
"I was thinking about bringing Rin, I just thought I let you know" she winks at him and turns back to Inuyasha.
"Why are talking with him for?" Inuyasha asks.
"I think he has a thing for Rin but has not openly said anything. When Rin shuts down, she becomes unaware of things. I can clearly see the signs he is into her".
"Wow you can really see that; you are a jack of all trades aren't you girl" Inuyasha says going to kiss Kagome.
"Look at our boy Izayoi, he is so happy. Sesshomaru on the other hand is so hardheaded, I am sure he has not talked to the girl that is his mate yet. If it has been this long, she may not be interested in him, and it frustrates him".
"He will have to work this one out dear, no matter how uncomfortable it is for him".
Toga nods.
Sesshomaru secretly is excited about Rin coming to the family vacation but how much longer will he have to be in her presence and not able to talk to her and touch her the way he wants. Maybe this vacation will change everything.
