Lokius Chapter Six
Loki was just moaning into Mobius's mouth, slamming him further against the wall when the tempad started making noises. Loki cursed under his breath, "Ignore it." He ordered. They kissed a few more times before the annoying noise alert came again. Loki growled. "If I had my magic right now!"
"I know Lokes, but I have to get that. I don't want the TVA to take you away from me. Not again."
Again, willing his dick to play nicely, Loki stepped back letting his suitor go. "We will continue this conversation, in detail." He ordered.
"We will." Mobius promised, checking the tempad as he adjusted his shirt and tie to not look like he had just nearly been fucked by a variant.
"What is it?" Loki asked, adjusting his own clothing and hair.
"Another team is dead."
"I am sorry, I distracted you from your duty."
"Their blood is not on your hands, it's on the variants."
"The variant is me."
"No, not you. Not my God of Snuggles." Mobius kissed his cheek.
"Call me that again and you will suffer mortal!"
"Given your reaction just now, I think I will save that for when we can be alone."
Loki laughed, "Anyone would think you had a strangulation kink."
Mobius blushed slightly as he pressed buttons on the tempad. "Perhaps."
"When I get my magic back." Loki promised.
"I look forward to that."
"Once more into the breach?" Loki asked.
Mobius smiled, "Shakespeare, impressive."
"I would read you sonnets in our bed if you were mine."
"Have you ever had someone who was yours?"
Loki shrugged, "I had partners, we had children, mostly for connection and power. I have never 'been in love' as your sweet bohemian movie would have it. I certainly have never longed to sing to a person I love to say I won't ever leave them."
"You are still young, it could happen."
"1500 is barely young."
"You have time Loki." Mobius promised, he kissed Loki's cheek before they headed back into the battlefield. He led Loki to the archives to look up the candy. "So, kablooie, sold from 2047/2051. That is a very small timeframe, there can't be that many natural end of day events in a few short years." He started pulling files and throwing them at Loki.
Loki flicked through them one by one, throwing them to the floor. "No, no, no, no. Mobius." He handed a file back.
"2050, Haven Hills, Alabama. A Roxxcart run town, wiped out by a hurricane. A roxxcart, that would be a huge warehouse and supermarket with enough supplies to last for years. The variant could hunker down there time and time again without ever running out of supplies. No wonder he never has to hunt for food, clothing, anything. It's all there. He must jump back, heal up, rest, eat, sleep and back out to the next place he wants to attack. Its genius."
"I would expect nothing less from a loki." He commented.
"Come with me." Mobius pulled Loki down the corridor with him. "Stay here while I talk to Renslayer." He pushed the God onto a sofa.
Loki sat there impatiently waiting for him to return, trying to ignore the sideways stares from the TVA agents walking by. He recognised one, "Casey," he commented, "Have you discovered what a fish is yet?"
"Something you eat for lunch?" Casey asked, "There's cod on the menu today."
"Oh Casey, I swear I am bringing you back a fish. A real live fish!"
"What would I do with it?"
"You put it in a tank, feed it and look at it, like a pet."
"That does not seem very frightening."
"The frightening part is when I take a knife, gut it and make it into the cod you ate for lunch."
Casey yelped, "Whatever you want, I comply!"
"Find me an end of days, in the nineties with jet skis and tell no one."
"Why would you want that?"
"Knife, gut, fish Casey."
"I comply, I comply! When do you need it for?"
"As soon as you can, a day or so. Is that enough time?"
"It will be."
"Good Casey, go enjoy your cod."
"I think I lost my appetite."
Mobius came back out of the office and looked over at Casey. "What is going on here?"
"Nothing. I'm complying and leaving." Casey mumbled, shuffling off.
"What did you do?" Mobius asked Loki.
Loki smiled wickedly, "Wouldn't you like to know?"
Mobius stared at him, "If I had more time, I would find the truth out, however we got our mission approved. So, lets go before the variant has a chance to run again."
Loki followed Mobius to where the TVA agents were gearing up. Mobius pulled a raincoat from his locker and handed Loki a pair of daggers.
"Oh hell no." B-15 commented taking them back off Loki and throwing them in her own locker.
Loki's face fell, he would have to face another of himself with no weapons and just his magic. As much as he was confident in his skills, there was the nagging voice of his family who had always told him that the magic was not enough and nor was he. That it was a dirty form of fighting. He watched Mobius duck behind them out of sight as they walked to the open portal. That was an odd motion, but he ignored it as he tried to convince B-15 that he was the superior loki. Then his little speech about Loki powers that was practically ignored.
B-15 and the other TVA agents entered the portal, leaving Mobius and Loki following behind. "Shh." Mobius commented quietly, slipping the daggers back into Loki's hands.
Loki smiled devilishly and followed his friend through the portal, to find himself dripping wet from the rain. Hardly a surprise when they knew the hurricane was about to destroy the whole area. Thunder rolled over head; he couldn't help but look up for his brother. A heaviness settling in his heart when he realised that would never happen again. Thor thought he was dead, for real this time and that was how it had to stay. He shoved down his emotions, hiding the daggers up his sleeves as they moved into the Roxxcart. He shivered as the rain ran down his face, just out of randomness and to see if his powers were still working, he tried to use them to dry himself.
"What the hell was that?" B-15 asked
"Me, drying my clothes with magic so I don't squeak with every step like you morons and get stabbed in the back by a crazy loki variant." Loki scoffed, stopping to brush a hand discretely on Mobius's arms drying him as well.
Mobius nodded his thanks, "Okay Loki, you are with me."
"Hell no, he stays with me. You can't be trusted with him."
"Loki is my responsibility."
"This is my operation, either go back and argue it with Renslayer or I am keeping the threat under my gaze."
"It's fine, I know I need to earn trust and I am prepared to." Loki said quietly.
"Why is it always the people who you can't trust that say trust me?" Mobius asked.
"Because we are the most needing of that trust." Loki retorted.
"Go with B-15." Mobius sighed.
He did so, cloned and then followed behind Mobius. Who stared back at him, and then at the TVA agent next to him? Trying to work out why there was no reaction.
"Duplication casting at its finest, only you can see me. Everyone else thinks I am walking along with the wicked witch."
Mobius nodded, not letting on that he could see him. "Don't get into too much mischief." He warned.
The clone called back, "Would I?"
"When wouldn't you."
"I smell magic, a lot of it. The Loki has been here a long time, or many times. "He paused, it was like the signature on his magic, but also not quite. "There's someone odd about this, let me go check on the wicked witch." Loki melded back with his clone next to B-15 just as she asked him about the person in front of them. He checked the clone's memories; the guy had just made a throw away comment about the plants being on a hurricane sale. "It could be." He replied.
B-15 moved slowly forward with her weapon ready to prune, "Put your hands up." The male did, before grabbing her wrist. A green flash zipped between them. The male dropped to the floor as B-15 turned on Loki.
"Me, I assume?"
"Oh please, if anyone is anyone, you are me. I am the superior loki or I wouldn't have survived this long on my own. "
"With enchantment, if Odin thought magic was womanly and not what a warrior should use. He never would have permitted enchantment in his house. So, how do you know it? Mother did not." He asked.
"I taught myself, not all of us had a family to grow up with."B-15 snapped.
Loki filed that information for later, as he fought, he was through several enchanted humans until finally the variant came forward. "This isn't about you." It spoke, before dropping that dark hood to reveal a blonde haired, slight woman with broken horns.
"Oh." Now it all made sense, the enchantment, the using heavier and stronger people to fight for it. She wasn't a warrior; she had never learned to fight. She was a weaker loki in fighting skills, did she even know how to use a blade? Loki doubted it, her hands were not full of the scars that working with daggers caused before you learned the skill. Nor did her arms show signs of muscle or strength. She was a loki who relied completely on enchantment to survive. This should be am easy win, however he knew there had to be more to the eye than what he was seeing. A loki would never allow itself to seem weak or helpless unless it was for personal gain. A trait he had used himself multiple times. "So, good evening Loki."
She hissed, "My name is Sylvie. I left 'loki' behind when I left Asgard. Even the sound of the name loki brings the TVA after you."
"Sylvie." Loki rolled it over the tongue, "Perhaps we could make a deal. Rule the TVA together? King and Queen of the TVA."
Sylvie laughed, "You made that offer once already to Randy, but sure try again now you see the woman behind the mask. I am still not interested. If I was to rule, it would not be over the TVA. I have bigger plans."
"Oh, do tell?" Loki asked.
"No thank you, you have nicely played for all the time I needed and now my plan is ready to execute." Sylvie pressed buttons on her own tempad, as the time bombs slipped through time to where she wanted them to be. "Tootles." She commented, drawing up a portal and stepping through.
"Loki, Loki no, Loki wait, no, Loki, Please, no." Mobius shouted as Loki looked towards the portal.
Loki paused misstep looking back at Mobius. He was torn, he didn't want to betray his friend. However, he had to know what Sylvie's plan was, if they lost her it could be a hundred years before they found her again. She would find a new way to hide, she no doubt had five or six back up plans. She was a loki. He didn't know what to do for the best, and then it hit him. He looked back at Mobius and hoped he would understand the message as he mouthed the only three words that could possibly make sense of what he was doing.
"Come what may."
With that, Loki stepped through the portal just before it closed.
"Loki, no!" He could hear the echo of Mobius's voice as it closed behind him, but Loki was committed. He had to do this, for both of their sakes. HE just hoped Mobius could find it in himself for forgiveness.
