During breakfast Toga announces:
"I will be hosting a gala tonight, all of my business colleagues are flying in. I need you all to be on your best behavior. Please dress in proper attire, if you did not pack any as I just sprung this upon you, I will provide those items".
A gala? Rin thinks. Damn this trip keeps getting better, I feel like I am part of the rich and famous. She laughs to herself.
Sesshomaru looks at her and wonders what she is thinking.
Izayoi speaks, "In the meantime, Rin gave me a wonderful idea. We will do a lot more activities together. We have a couple more days to explore. We will do ziplining today and since we have the gala that is the only activity we will do. The next couple days we will do ATV, ride on some jets and flyboarding. Since Rin gave me the idea, I put aside a Safari tour and whale watching since Rin is so fond of nature".
Rin claps her hands and smiles. Sesshomaru looks to Rin and curves his mouth. He is happy to watch his mate so full of life and excitement. He would attend those activities with Rin since it was her idea.
Rin is so excited, Sesshomaru catches up to her.
"You look very excited Rin".
"I very much am. I am glad that Izayoi listened to what I said last night. They should have thought of us when they made these plans".
"I agree".
"Maybe their intentions were to set us up? I don't need anyone trying to make things awkward between us. We have a good relationship now; I don't want that screwed up".
"I agree Rin, you are a good friend to me".
"So are you!" Rin says lying through her teeth; She wants more.
"Are you excited about the gala tonight, I cannot wait!"
They stop where their two bungalows meet.
"Not in the least but I am glad there will be one person I like there".
Rin laughs, "You are so honest, it is comical".
"I cannot be any other way".
"I see, I am going to get ready for this ziplining. I hope you at least got me some shorts. You were not playing with my attire. It is most definitely vacation beach body ready attire".
"If not, I can make arrangements for those items to be sent to you".
"I must be a very special friend for you to make arrangements like that for me," Rin says with a tint forming on her cheeks.
You are my mate, your needs, wants, and happiness is all I care for. I will do it without question. He thinks wanting to tell her so bad.
"Toga said he would provide whatever we will need for the gala. I will let you slide on that one".
Even though Toga was his father, Rin was his mate. He wanted to take care of his mate, no one else.
"Are you certain?"
"Yes, I am" Rin goes to reach for Sesshomaru's hand but stops when Kagome and Sango call out to her. Damn perfect timing, she thinks in annoyance.
"I will see you tonight" She smiles at him. Sesshomaru curves his mouth so only she sees.
She turns to the girls running up to her, "What's up? You guys wanted to come over?"
They both agreed.
They sit in the living room area and Kagome speaks, "I am so excited for tonight. I never thought I would be so pampered in my life. Inuyasha literally takes care of everything".
Rin was not going to mention what Sesshomaru had been doing. She didn't want to get the girls riled up.
"Too bad Ayame is missing all of this. She had important business deals and family business but hopefully she will not miss it next time" Rin says.
"Next time?" Kagome says.
"I mean if we get this opportunity again, I will not be poor much longer".
"Wow Rin, really?" Sango says.
"Anyway, Izayoi gave us a catalog to look at and to pick out dresses and to be fitted. Demons work a lot faster than us, so our dresses should be done by tonight".
"Wow that is amazing! We should get to it then" Rin says excitingly.
They look through the book and picked out their dresses and any accessories to go with. They went to go get measured and were told their dresses would be delivered to their rooms.
Rin put on some shorts and a Cami top she found within all of the clothes Sesshomaru sent over. She didn't have any sneakers or boots. She asked Kagome and Sango if they had any available because she didn't think they would be doing such activities, well Sesshomaru didn't.
Rin feels an adrenaline rush when it was time for her to climb up to the ziplining. She may have to go again. She is tied up and made sure she was secure and then they sent her down. Rin was so happy; she was able to see a view she could not see before and wished she brought a camera to capture it. If she has the opportunity for another, she will bring a camera.
Sesshomaru did not participate because he knew how to fly so it was nonsense for him to go up there and act like he was excited. He did take joy in seeing Rin enjoying herself, he met her on the other side.
"How did you like it?"
"It was awesome, I saw a beautiful view, too bad I didn't have a camera; I could have captured it".
Sesshomaru thought he could show her many things with him being able to fly, maybe she will let him one day.
"I think I want to go one more time".
"I will be waiting here when you come back. You may be too dizzy but maybe we can get some lunch".
"I may need to walk it out before I eat, don't want to throw anything up and then can't make it to the gala tonight, that would be disappointing".
"We could see more of this scenery you like so much and purchase a camera".
Rin wanted to hug Sesshomaru but he just seemed so closed off from affection. She simply says thank you and climbs back up the ladder to zipline one more time.
Rin comes back down as if was her first time and Sesshomaru took in her joy again. On the way up Sesshomaru saw a trail and thought Rin may enjoy that.
"While you were gone, I went and purchased a camera so you can take pictures. I saw a trail for hikers; would you like to go?"
"Oh yes that would be great! You are so awesome Sesshomaru!"
Rin thought about grabbing him down to her and kissing him. She wanted to taste his mouth. Her eyes widen and a pink tint went over her face as the thought crossed her mind. She is starting to get more of these thoughts of intimacy with him. She closed her eyes and calmed herself and thought maybe a friendly hug would help.
She looked up at him and smiled and wrapped her arms around him. Sesshomaru eyes widen and looked around. He didn't know what to do.
"You are the best friend ever. I truly thank you for everything you have done for me".
Sesshomaru didn't return the embrace, he simply pats her head.
"It is okay Sesshomaru, friends embrace each other like this" she says laughing.
She lets go and Sesshomaru nods. They walk down the trail, Sesshomaru"s cock twitch thinking of the touch, something he has longed for. He had to do some breathing exercises to calm himself down. Rin thought it was a bad idea to act so impulsive because now she feels he is being awkward; little does she know.
"I am sorry for hugging you like that; you seem bothered by it now".
Little do you understand what this has done to me Rin. All I am thinking about is taking you somewhere in this Forrest, taking my claim. He thinks to himself trying to calm himself down.
"It is fine Rin, do not worry yourself. I am new to this friend thing so I may appear awkward at what you humans deem as normal".
Sometimes Sesshomaru when you become awkward, I feel you think about touching me. I may be wrong, but I feel it too if you have. I wonder, have your feelings changed too? Or am I suffering alone. She thinks to herself.
Rin captured so many sceneries, different plants, and trees. She captured some amazing views. Sesshomaru watched his smiling mate, the awkwardness faded; Sesshomaru felt happiness watching her.
They meet up with everyone for lunch and Inuyasha wants to talk with Sesshomaru.
"Why do you want to talk to me? Talk to father".
"Why can't we have normal conversations like other siblings. Maybe I would rather talk to you about this than father. I don't think you would be that judgmental like father".
Sesshomaru felt some sympathy. "What do you need to talk about?"
"It is about Kagome. I feel something for her".
Sesshomaru being the older brother could only turn to his father, Inuyasha turned to him, and he understood that.
"Explain".
"I believe she is my mate".
"If you know this then why are you asking me for advice?"
"I am asking because how you are with Rin, you seem very friendly to her. It is almost like she is your mate; you seem to tolerate her even as a human. Am I wrong?"
"Rin is special, she is honest and a no-nonsense girl".
"That just about said it all, I understand Sesshomaru. You don't deal with anyone especially humans, you usually keep your distance. I have learned to read between the lines with you. We found our mates".
Sesshomaru nods, "Do not say anything in front of Rin or your mate. I want to tell her on my own, in my own way. I just need to give her some time to trust this Sesshomaru".
Inuyasha nods.
They go their separate ways and get ready for the gala.
