Rin knocks on the door and Izayoi greets her, "Hello dear, come on in".
Izayoi gracefully walks to the living room area. Rin watches her and thinks she is so beautiful.
"Would you like something to drink?"
"Yes, a bottled water would be fine".
"Have a seat Rin. I am moved that you would want to talk to me about this. I thought maybe you would ask Kagome".
"I thought it would be proper to talk to you".
"Ask me anything".
"One of the main things that is stirring within me is that I am a human. Sesshomaru mentioned that demons would know whom their mates were, but he was not sure how it worked for humans. Do we have a sense of these kinds of things as well?"
"How do you feel about Sesshomaru? Since the very beginning".
"I was very much attracted to him when I first saw him; I thought he was like some God. I thought it was honestly when you see someone in passing that you were attracted to but was never going to see again".
"But was it different from anyone else you have encountered?"
"Sort of, I was mad at him for the way he treated me but for some reason I was able to forgive him. I wanted to hang out with him, talk with him and be close to him".
"There is a magnetic pull for us, we want to hate their guts, but we can't help but desire them. Humans we cannot control our emotions, we put our hearts on our sleeves. Youkai are quite the opposite, they will become very mean or just say things they will regret later. Once they are yours, they will be wrapped around your finger".
"Sounds like my Sesshomaru, he was such a jerk, but he stayed around and unknowingly I was being courted".
"When I met you the other day, I knew you were Sesshomaru's mate, he never treats anyone with kindness like he has with you".
Rin smiles. "What about the actual ritual? He mentioned a ritual".
"Well, you basically make love. It is not as scary as what you may have heard. There are no bite marks; it is just an exchanging of energy, mostly on Sesshomaru's part. I am sure Sesshomaru will explain that part," she says, as her cheeks turn rosy.
"Could you tell me so I can get more of an idea; I have an idea about the sex part I can totally understand but the surface stuff, I would like a heads up on".
"Okay so the exchange of energy, you will feel his demonic energy enter you. As you are his true mate, you would embrace it. You will then have his lifetime. You could also reject it if it is too much to bear. If we were demons, we would mate and live on forever. Since we are humans, we can either embrace it or not. If you choose so, you will gain their lifetime".
"Wow that is a lot to take in".
"Yes, we will be with them forever, is that something you could be open to?"
"Is Kagome aware of this, do you know?"
"I am sure Inuyasha was very forthcoming about all of this. Do not let it be your sister's decision, make this your own".
"I was not, I just thought to ask how she took it, I feel I already know my answer anyway".
"One more thing, they will become obsessed with breeding you. They are dominant and a bit controlling when it comes to this. They get off on knowing their mate, will be pushing a pup out of them, resulting from their lovemaking. These dogs take a step further to guarantee your pregnancy by knotting in you".
Rin head tilts to the side, "knotting?"
"Yes knotting, they will knot inside you to make sure their "seed" is deep within your womb".
"Mrs. Izayoi, this is so much!"
"Do not call me Mrs. Izayoi, Izayoi will be fine".
"Do you regret it? Having to live forever?"
"No, I do not, I am with my family all the time. You just have to move with the times".
Izayoi looks to Rin and sees her struggling after her mentioning the knotting.
"I don't want to be pregnant any time soon, so I hope Sesshomaru would be understanding for now".
"He is your mate, talk it out and something will work out".
"Thank you for talking with me Izayoi, I have a better understanding of things. One thing for sure is that I don't want to see myself without him, he is my mate".
Rin went back to her bungalow and thought about everything Izayoi said. She decided to meet Sesshomaru at dinner and they will discuss everything after. She just needed some time to think about how she got here with him.
She called Kagome and told her to come over, she needed her sister and also speak about their situation with their youkai's. Rin lets Kagome in, and they go into her bedroom.
"Finally, you want to talk to me, you were all over Sesshomaru and forgot I existed".
"Yes, I mean it is new for me and I wanted to protect it".
"Tell me all the details Rin. What happened last night?"
"We did get into an argument, and I went to see him, and we made up. I told him how I felt, and he told me I was his mate".
"Very short and sweet Rin, you really don't like spilling the beans. Well, it does make sense now on why he wanted to be up under you all the time".
"I fell for him and didn't realize it. I just needed him, and he is mine now".
"Wow Rin you starting to sound like our mates" she laughs.
"He is rubbing off of me," Rin says laughing. "Hey Kagome, what do you know about mating?"
"Well, me and Inuyasha have discussed it, he understands our family history and he still wants to go forth with it".
"How about living until they die?"
"I am not going to lie, it had me worried, but I am okay with it. I love him Rin and I want to be with him forever. Do you feel the pull Rin? With knowing that, there is no place I would rather be".
"I see I just don't want to have no babies anytime soon. Sesshomaru is just going to have to understand that. Izayoi said they can get obsessive when they want to pup us".
"Oh, you talked to Izayoi, Inuyasha told me everything. It would have been nice to get some input from her".
"Yeah, she is great, it made me think I was speaking to my mother. She is very genuine, and the boys are lucky, even if Sesshomaru does not claim her as anything".
"Are you ever going to meet Sesshomaru's mother?"
"He does not really talk about it, but hopefully I can talk him into it, couldn't say I didn't try".
"Right".
There was a ring at her bungalow, she goes to answer it. Kagome follows because it could be some assailant or something. She opens the door, and it was a delivery.
"Are you Rin Higurashi?"
"Yes, I am, is there a problem?"
"No ma'am we have a delivery for you from Sesshomaru".
"Oh okay, thank you".
"Could you just sign here to say you received it, he would kill me if you didn't".
"Heh," Rin laughs nervously.
She brings the package in and reads the note attached, "I would love to see you in this, hugging every inch of you".
"Sesshomaru!" Rin yells out embarrassingly.
"Oh, wow Rin, Sesshomaru went out of his way to get you this gown for tonight. It is just a family dinner".
"Sesshomaru has very fine taste. It makes sense because he is with me".
"Oh lord, I am getting out of here, sounds like you are ready to pounce on him".
"No Kagome don't leave yet, help me look my best".
"I never thought I would see the day you would try to impress a guy".
Rin quickly runs to the shower and washes her hair. While Rin is in the shower, Kagome goes to get her attire for the evening and decides it was best to get dressed there.
Rin's gown a burgundy Faux Wrap dress, rouched on the side and around the back. There was also a side slit that went up her right thigh. Single straps in the front and double straps going towards the back. She had glitter gold heels to pair with.
Kagome wrapped Rin's hair in an updo, she added a floral comb to her hair. Her earrings were diamond droplets, and her necklace was diamond. Sesshomaru sent the accessories over with the dress.
"You look so beautiful Rin," Kagome says excitingly.
"You are just as beautiful Kagome. You always look nice".
"You know we have not heard much from Sango. She will be surprised when she finds out about you and Sesshomauru, even though she has been cheering from the sidelines for you too," Kagome says.
"Well, she will find out tonight. Sesshomaru has a hard time keeping his hands off of me and will probably try to get me back to the room".
"You guys are animals".
"We have not done anything like that yet but the way he treats me and the words he says to me, lets me know he does".
Rin's doorbell rings again, the girls go to the door, Rin opens it. It was Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. Sesshomaru eyes widen and Inuyasha says, "Damn, you girls look hot!".
Sesshomaru grunts because Inuyasha complimented his mate like that. Even though it was sort of a nice gesture, "Do not get use to speaking to Rin like that, she is mine".
"Jeez Sesshomaru, sorry!"
Sesshomaru reaches out his hand to Rin and kisses it. "So beautiful Rin, absolutely beautiful".
Rin smiles with rosy cheeks. "Thank you Sesshomaru, you are very dapper tonight".
Kagome was in awe, she just couldn't believe Sesshomaru and Rin were so affectionate to each other, they couldn't take their eyes off each other.
"Shall we go my lady," Sesshomaru says to Rin.
"Yes, let us shall".
Inuyasha and Kagome follow.
