Chapter 5

Nova began to stir as she slowly woke up, her head started to throb, and her back was killing her. She sat up slowly that's when the room began to spin. Nova threw herself over to the side of the bed and threw up on the ground. Ew, wait how did I end up in a bed? In fact, Nova did not even recognize this room and she knows Bane's ship like the back of her hand due to all the repairs he needed over the years.

Wiping her lips with her arm she examined the room. It was very clean but didn't have much in the room itself. From where she sat, she could see just a bed, dresser, nightstand, and a small chair tucked away in the corner of the room. The walls were painted grey and had dark red almost black looking curtains covering what looked to be a huge window. No pictures were on the walls just a few basic decor accents that looked to be carved into the wall, though she did not recognize the markings.

Todo entered the room with a tray of water "Ah Miss, I see you are finally awake, good. I did not think you were going to make it another night" Todo stated.

"Where… are we?" Nova questioned her voice sounded and felt like it was rubbed raw. They can't be on the ship still; it is far too warm in the room for them to be in space which is normally really cold in her opinion. Plus, it was too quiet, no constant humming of the engines, her mind was racing.

"We are on a planet. But I am not allowed to disclose its location"

Nova looked down at her injured arm which was not in a cast but still tightly wrapped to include a few of her fingers. Next, she touched her head and felt like she had another scar to add to her collection. This new scar was sensitive to the touch but seemed mostly healed. Nova paled.

"Todo, how long was I out?"

"You have been asleep for nine days," Todo said and handed her a glass of water. "I will get you some food here shortly, but I recommend you only eat a little at first. You are still healing, and you may become sick… again" while now looking at the pile of puke that splat across the floor.

"Nine days! I was out for nine days! Wait… That is impossible how could my injuries be healed that fast. And why can't I know where we are? Where is Cad?" She felt confused and angry she didn't know how to feel at this moment.

"Please remain calm I will answer your questions". Todo allowed Nova time to sit up slowly and steady herself so to prevent getting sick again.

"You see, you lost a lot of blood and started to die. Mister Bane gave you his blood to replenish yours. This kept your organs from dying but your body was not meant for a different species of blood in your system and started to reject it." Todo paused "See you got sick, like really sick, I thought you were going to die. You should have died, but you didn't. Just on the brink of death for the second time your body just starting to heal very quickly. I have never seen anything quite like it". Cad saved her.

"Where are we Todo?"

"That I cannot tell you, Mister Bane would be quite disappointed in me if I were to say". So, Bane is the one keeping her in the dark.

"Where is Cad now?"

"Oh, he is just right outside" Todo spoke as he cleaned up the vomit that was now starting to cake on the floor.

As if on cue Bane opened the door and walked in. Bane was dressed differently than any other time she has seen him. He was just wearing a long black sleeve shirt, leather pants, and boots. But that was it, no weapons, no breathing tubes, no anything. As he walked into the room, he was actively lighting up a death stick. The whole scene just looked so foreign seeing him so … comfortable.

"Awe, finally awake" Bane spoke after finally getting his death stick to light. He walked over to the chair and dragged it to the side of the bed and sat down in it, then threw his feet up on the nightstand.

He took a long drag, after exhaling he spoke. "You had Todo worried for a sec".

"So, he said, I didn't mean to I apologize for the trouble". Bane just nodded.

"So, where are we?"

"That is none of your concern". Bane spoke nonchalantly waving his hand but didn't say anything further just continued to watch her. Nova spoke again to break the silence as Bane continued to smoke.

"Why wouldn't it be my concern? I don't understand Cad please explain to me what is going on".

"I can ask you the same thing" Now Nova was really confused, what could she have done that went from Bane freeing her (which she still didn't understand why he did that) to holding her hostage on some new unknown planet. She felt cold maybe she wasn't a freed slave, after all, maybe he saw her as his slave now. Bane must have read her panicked expression because he finally broke the silence as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a commlink. The same one that Anakin Skywalker had given her back on Tatooine.

"You see I don't trust you" he paused but Nova didn't say a word, so he continued. "Don't worry your Jedi friends cant track it, I have made sure of that".

"Jedi friends? When did I meet a Jedi?" Nova was racking her brain the only new people she meet were Ani and Kenobi.

"Wait! Ani is a Jedi?!".
