"Good afternoon Ethan," Aizen says in his usual calm manner.
"Looks like your assassination attempt on me have failed. Wouldn't it be better to do this at night instead? What's the hurry Sosuke or am I just that much of a threat to you?" Ethan, still has his zanpaktou out, prepares for any attack Aizen throws at him.
"Are you sure you want to fight me? How much do you know about Soul Society's history?"
"Let me guess, Soul King got mutilated and all of his other body parts were scattered in all of the worlds by the ancestors. So?"
Now, this really surprised Aizen. He was not expecting this. "And yet you still defend Soul Society after knowing its atrocities? What if I give you the power to change it?"
"Look, how about I just report that it's one of your Arrancars, Szayelapporo Granz, and call it a day? He's still a Fraccion right? Or is he an Espada 8 now?" This really scared Aizen.
"How the hell do you know that?!" yells a frustrated Kaname.
Aizen chuckles a bit. He's getting excited with this unexpected development, "Are you sure you want to do that? You do realize covering for me would make you a traitor to Soul Society?"
"There's gonna be a few more traitors Yamamoto's gonna forgive so it's not much of a problem for me. Besides, I have my own way of fighting the corruption in Soul Society and it does not involve brute force. I understand some would want to join because of the allowed evil. Really though, if something like that succeeds it's just trading one evil for another."
"How amusing that you would label me as evil."
"I never said you were."
"Very well then, Gin, Kaname, we're leaving."
"Oh really? Things just got quite interesting. That's a shame. Tata kid," Gin playfully complains as they open the senkaimon getting ready to head back to their office.
While they were in the Dangai, Gin questions Aizen whether it was a good idea to just leave be him. Aizen thought to himself more about Ethan, wondering where he got that information. "It is alright. If he knows that much I assume he also knows about Kyoka Suigetsu's true power as well as my own. It appears we have another reincarnate from another world. He wouldn't be bothering us. We'll be observing him along with Ichigo Kurosaki. Heh."
"That was incredible! You're so strong! How were you able to beat those many hollows in one go?!" Chiyo glomped on him. She has never seen this before. It is known that Ethan is a captain-level Soul Reaper but it would at least for a captain to use bankai in that scenario. Ethan beat them in one go with shikai only.
"Well . . . my shikai's ability is to overload and destabilize the target's spiritual pressure."
"That's so cool! I want you now. Wanna see something nice?" She opens her clothes for a bit, showing her E size breast, "If you like, you can touch them if you want. No one's watching."
He gives out an annoying sigh, "Please put your clothes on properly and let's go back."
"Woah, not even slightly embarrassed. That's a first. Alright fine," disappointed, but not unwelcomed. This further tempts her more. She begins plotting a way how to get him to notice her. If Ethan could see her, she has a big grin and probably stars for eyes.
"Report," demanded Yamamoto. All captains and lieutenants have been called to this meeting after Yamamoto read the report of Ethan's recent mission.
"Sir! I can confirm of a strange hollow-soul reaper hybrid was behind the incident. The hollow was at a level of a captain with the ability to transform by releasing their zanpaktou. It was like a bankai. The hollow thought it was invincible and invaded the human world. The hollow was eliminated by 4th seat Chiyo and I before it would do more harm. The hollow was very skilled, almost like fighting another soul reaper. It also had humanoid features as well."
"Were you able to gather any information on the hollow?"
"Yes sir, it appears that the hollow called himself an Arrancar, Szayelapporo Granz. His kind is actually very rare among the hollows and he was the only one daring enough to go into the world of the living with the risk of being caught. He would have killed us if it were not for my shikai. He says he's a scientist of sorts. That is all I know."
"Very well, you are dismissed."
As Ethan exists the captain's meeting, many captains show signs of great concern that such a hollow was spotted without the notice of Squad 12, except two certain individuals who show excitement instead. While the captains are discussing among themselves, Aizen is quite pleased that Ethan kept his promise.
"A hollow with soul reaper powers, on top it off, it's of a level of a captain. Thank goodness we send Ethan to investigate; if we kept sending someone else they would've been dead," reliefs Shunsui Kyoraku.
"What a rare find and a scientist at that! I'm surprised that hollows would have something called a scientist. It's a shame that Ethan had to kill it, I would love to conduct some experiments," Mayuri says with disappointment.
"As this is such a rare sight, we can assume that another incident like this will not happen. If another hollow of its kind were to be spotted, all stationed soul reapers ought to avoid engaging and report their findings immediately. Dismissed!"
As Ethan heads back to Squad 7 barracks. He calls everyone to do some training. Every day, Squad 7 does training to improve their fighting ability, but weekly is when they do some intense sparring. Ethan is there to observe and guide. Ethan now is criticizing his men with their swordsmanship. "You! Straighten your arms! Put more effort into your swing! I can sense you you know! Put more spirit energy into your swing! Not like that! Concentrate! Make your sword sharper with your spirit energy! The quicker you end your fights the better! In practice, focus on technique. In battle focus ending the fight fast with what you've learned. Make do with your technique whether or not it's good or bad; in battle you don't have the luxury of second guessing your attacks otherwise you'll die! Honor has no place in battle against uncivilized people, but we must show mercy if they do survive the fight. That is the only honor they get. AM I UNDERSTOOD!?"
"Yes Sir!"
After a while, Ethan ends the training and called for a select few for their monthly exam in kido. This exam is happens every week where the selected Soul Reapers required to do a test. This exam is taken once a month for every individual Soul Reapers. There are two exams for this, written and practical. The Soul Reapers ought to memorize every kido spell they have learned, obviously, forbidden kido is not allowed with a few exemptions that are not punishable by law like Itto Kaso. In the practical exam, they ought to perform at least a workable complex kido of their level to not only test their control of their spirit energy but also the devastating power of their kido. The other part of the practical exam is the medical exam. Squad 4 won't always be there to the rescue so we must become independent enough to at least heal our injured comrades until Squad 4 arrives. Once everything is done, the scores of the exam will be posted in Squad 7's bulletin board within the week.
At the end of the day, he goes back to his office, finishing what's left of the paperwork. "Sir you have guest. 4th seat Chiyo Watanabe is here."
"Bring her in," she comes in a bit nervous, blushing as if she is going to tell something embarrassing or a bit ashamed. Ethan notices this and offers her some tea. "What seems to be the problem?" he asked with worry.
"Say, would you like to have dinner with me?"
"Sure. I'm almost done. Just let me finish my work and we can get going." She is gets excited and quickly left the room. Ethan chuckled at this. He too gets ready for his date with Chiyo.
At the restaurant, Chiyo looked like she came prepared. She was wearing some impressive make-up; looking more beautiful than before. Ethan, however, was simply looking just fresh. While Chiyo talk a lot Ethan listened, barely saying a word. He didn't mind this; in fact, he was enjoying being the listener.
"So, like, there's this bikini I wanna try out, here, take a look," she shows Ethan a magazine several different bikinis. "What do you think would look better on me?"
"The flounce bikini, skirtini, strapless one, and the microkini, I think it will look great on you."
"So you're into women who show their skin huh? Not what I had expected. For someone who seems reserved and a prude, you have quite the taste. Tell me what sort of woman do you like?"
"Well, I really like the, not reckless, but the wild, aggressive, and flirty type."
This is a surprise; she was not expecting that kind of answer. Normally people like him prefer not to have these kinds of women in their life. Is he actually a thrill seeker? She wants to test it out. "Say, I know what we can do to have some thrill, wanna do it next week?"
"Sure." That was easy. For someone who is known to be a workaholic, he seems calm and is willing to spend some time for others, even if they are to be the opposite of his personality. Is this why he is known as the 2nd captain of Squad 7? Just how much time does he have for himself?
"What about you what do you do for fun?"
"Well, I would like to read some philosophy, do some cooking and would do some gardening."
"Is it true that you're a workaholic?"
"Well, kind of. My hobbies are also kind of work. When going to the world of the living I have to have some skills to survive. Since the Head Captain and Central 46 are not willing to partner up with the local government, I need something to help me be in my best shape to do my work, especially if I have a partner. Though I would just steal and convert everything into reishi. I wouldn't steal much, that'd be problematic for some stores."
"I get what you mean; it's a pain to be sent to the world of the living without some kind of help. Say, mind making me lunch tomorrow? I would like to try out your food."
"Sure. Got any allergies?"
"None."
After dinner, Chiyo was back at her house. "He's not like the others. Honest, considerate, and even at the cost of his own time. He thinks things through and is quite understanding. He surprisingly wants a woman like that. HE IS SO MY TYPE!" She goes back to her room and jumps on her bed . . . with a body pillow of Ethan and a wall full of photos of him.
In the forest there appears, Kaname Tosen seems to personally be training someone hard. "Argh!" The Soul Reaper seems to be tiring from the heavy clashes with his captain, wounds everywhere on his body with his shikai release. "Man captain! You're really strong! You sure you're not stronger than all of the Espadas?"
"I am not. To be able to slice of Grimmjow's arm as you described what will happen, one must be able to use their spirit energy effectively to pull off such a feat. Even lieutenants can harm an Espada should they be skilled enough. We're done for today."
"Thank you Captain Tosen. I swear we will bring justice to the Soul Reapers."
"We will, someday.
"Taigen Sugiyama, remember that it does not matter how much power you have, if you do not know how to use it, then that power is more dangerous to yourself than to your opponents."
"Yes sir!"
As they are resting from the intense spar, Kaname looked up to the sky, deep in thought, "replacing one evil for another," is what he said out loud unintentionally. Is this truly a path to justice? Evil left unpunished is unbelievable unjust but to call this path evil is something he never considered.
Feeling conflicted; Kaname asked Taigen about Ethan, "Well, I think the guy is pretty stuck up and arrogant just like his captain."
"Oh, what makes you say that?"
"Well, I've seen him at work a few times during my visits to Squad 7; he is a slave driver and constantly pushes them hard during exercises. He is a perfectionist and kissing the asses of the other captains. If there is a small flaw in their paper work he would always scold the people who did it instead of correcting it himself. He often scolds others for minor wrong doing but sometimes does it outside of work. If anything, he's a hypocrite and he should just mind his own business. I don't think you're wrong with going this path, I think it's best to just ignore him. He'll get what's coming."
"You heard me say that?!"
"Yeah, "replacing one evil for another," like hell he understands how corrupt the Soul Reapers are."
Taigen was right; justice needs to be brought to the Soul Reapers for ignoring crimes committed by the noble houses. If they are to be allowed to commit crimes freely then it is a lawless state. Only those below them must follow the rules while those of higher status are free to do whatever they please.
"Taigen, Lord Aizen wishes to talk to you tonight. I will pick you up so have an early dinner."
"Yes sir!" Taigen excitedly says.
At night in a secret area, Aizen and his crew ask Taigen to participate in a very important mission. "Hello Taigen. It appears that we may have another reincarnate, Ethan Maxwell. I would like for you to be his rival. Keep pushing him to reveal more of himself. Ethan is an anomaly to my plans and I would like to see if he is a threat or not."
"Yes Lord Aizen."
As Taigen leaves, Gin begins to wonder, "Are you sure he would succeed? Would we really have enough information of Ethan?"
"It does not matter Gin. If Taigen becomes stronger through this, then it's all good. At the pace that he's in, he would barely be at the level of a captain's once we get the Hogyoku. Taigen's zanpaktou has the potential to become more dangerous than Yamamoto. I may not even need this Wonderweiss he spoke off."
"Alright then, Good night."
